As far as racing games go, we might have seen just about every instance there could be. Zombie-invasions, heists, racing, and more populate the genre with thousands upon thousands of titles, making it probably the largest collection of games out there, probably matching the FPS genre, although not the shooter genre as a whole. It comes to little surprise then that new car games have turned to new mechanics, be it in-game or even console related, to up the ante on their competitors and provide something new to the public in order to boost the sales of this same title. The Crew is one such game, making use of the massively connected consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One, along with the PC,to create a racing game deeply rooted into co-op play and teamwork. This is because the “crew” is not merely a cool sounding name to get on the ears of potential buyers, but it reflects what you will be doing in the game, which is creating a team of skilled drivers in order to take over all of the United States. Which you really can, since Ivory Tower have gone to the incredible lengths of recreating all 50 states, realistically taking almost an hour to cross the whole map from end to end, keeping in mind that the usual performance of a similar car would go at over 100mph. Even though the game did not make headlines because of its quality but rather because its publisher was at it again, Ivory Tower have been hard at work to improve the game in all its aspects, and in fairness it has managed to quite brilliantly. The expansion, called Wild Run, is a massive piece of work, unlike any dlc or patch ever released by Ubisoft, so it makes sense that it is called an expansion. The first thing which one will notice is that graphics look better; sleeker, sharper textures will make you drool over your dream car so bad you’ll have to abstain from choosing that car in the game. Jokes apart, if the cars looked beautiful in the base game, they will absolutely enchant you here. Apparently the texture upgrade is even noticeable without purchasing Wild Run, so for those who are willing to give the game a second go to check out whether to get the expansion or not, they can enjoy the upgraded visuals.Something which is brought by with the expansion though are the Monster Trucks and Motorcycles. Driving a Monster Truck through the streets of America is sure to be a massive show, especially with all the confusion it will create. Imagining it happen in real life would definitely be shocking, but thanks to how well the map is recreated in the game, you can almost see what it would look like in The Crew. Sure, there will be no one screaming in the game, as there would surely be bystanders who would rupture their lungs while screaming, but the visuals would come very close to capturing that scene. Bikes, on the other hand, will never achieve that level of confusion, getting even by a showing of awesomeness which only bikes can do. In fact, I myself am interested in getting a bike for myself, and after playing this my desire to own one has shot upwards. Too bad my mother would kill me before I’d even mount the damn thing.Another important aspect of the Wild Run expansion is the new Summit mode, which is a brand new concept, and a very interesting one. It basically consists of earning tickets from events based on game modes such as drag racing, drifting and others. These events are also done online, so showing off your skills is essential. Rubbing your face in it is not supposed to be part of the package, but as long as you do it right, and not mentioning the moms or sisters of whoever you just beat, you are still a good guy. Players who place well enough in the Summit will receive exclusive rewards in the form of cars which are probably not unlockable anywhere else, meaning that the reward is both useable, since it is a car, and unique, in that other players will likely not have one like it. For players who tend to be extremely competitive, like me, being the top dog and earning such rewards is enough of a motivation to train my ass off and place among the highest in these events, so hopefully this new mode will incite players to continuously train and keep beating their own scores so that maybe one day there will be no one left to beat except themselves. It really is a rush of excitement!Ivory Tower really have killed it with this expansion, as it not only does a huge favour to the longevity and enjoyment of the game, but it teaches a lesson in how expansions should be made, meaning a huge chunk of content at a reasonable price and which fixes existing issues and creates no more. The addition of the new cars by themselves is already enough to get players drooling, but the new Summit mode is a fantastic bonus, one which will definitely keep motivating players to improve upon their skills. I for one am already thinking about ways in which my drifting can be better, so that in the next event, do not expect to have my score below yours very easily. Game on!

Got this as a Christmas present for my 12 year old. ( or so I told him and the Mrs). I was concerned upon reading the reviews but I thought I'd give it a go. It's two disc and needs to load a considerable amount of data onto the hard drive. It's a good thing I invested in a 120gb hard drive to replace my original 20gb one. Anyway I'm using a wireless xbox 360 wheel ( also a Christmas present). Initially the handling was awful but a quick adjustment of the control options in the menu (dialling up the steering sensitivity? turning off the steering dead zone and changing a few camera angles) and now it's handling like a dream. One word of warning. The wireless wheel lacks some of the buttons of the controller.( like the RB and LB). I have to switch of the wireless wheel and switch on the xbox controller if I want to adjust some options like handling and camera view. I've completed the first missions without any online or game glitches. My character has customised his first car and the game is slowly revealing it's depth. I empathise with the people who've not had the good fortune u and my son have had. For us the game is showing it's longevity and we're not disappointed. I hope this helps some people if you're on the fence. I for one am glad it's made it onto the xbox 360 and allowed us more months before we have to bite the xbox one bullet in our household...!

The Crew Wild Run edition was my first trial with The Crew. The game has a wonderful open world that is a sort of scale model of the United States, focusing on major cities and then having a neat "compilation" of the US in between. There is a good selection of cars, however a lot of cars you'd assume would be in the game aren't (STI/EVO, Supra, etc); the game seems to focus on American muscle cars, which can be considered a con depending on the kind of cars you like. The storyline keeps you interested, although it is a bit cliche. The Wild Run expansion adds monster trucks, drift cars, motorcycles, and drag racers to the mix. Each race type is fun and well polished, but gameplay can get repetetive and I am currently taking a break from the game.Definitely an arcade racer, the cockpit view is nice and the customization inside and out of the cars is very in depth and features actual real world parts and styles. The main issue I have with the game is the lack of car selection as well as other minor attention to detail. For example, the R34 Skyline is shown as having a V6 engine, embarassing, as the car really has an inline-6. However, it doesn't take away from the fun of the game, just bugs a car geek like me.Overall, the game is fun, and I would buy it again, just not at retail price.

Would have given it 5 stars if it would allow you to start a new playthrough.Once you complete the game (playthrough and missions), it is done. You cannot start a new game under your current account.Otherwise, good game. Very good graphics. Plenty of cars to choose from and outfit to your liking. Some of the missions were difficult, but once you level up and get your car leveled up good, you are fine. Lots of driving. If you are one you doesnt mind not having a playthrough when done, you can just drive around freely all over the US. Missions are replayable, but pointless as the gear you get are very low levels. I also maxed my level to 50, so no experience given either. The bucks you get from missions and side quests very low, so takes a long time to build up enough to buy a really good car (unless you purchase the bucks with real money which I am not doing).

The Ultimate Edition has all of the content on the disc. When I had the free game installed and then popped in the UE disc, the free game "overrode" the ultimate edition.I could access the DLC content and season pass but it showed a message saying I did not own the content. Also if I saved/exited using a season pass vehicle when I reloaded the game it would put me in one of my free game vehicles. The way I fixed this was to delete the free game. Your save is outside of the game itself. Don't delete your save, just the game. Then I hard reset my xbox by holding down the power button for 10-15 seconds. Then when the xbox came back up I popped in the ultimate edition and installed the season pass and DLC first, then installed the Ultimate Edition all from the disc. This solved the error messages and not loading the car I exited with.

This game is just what I was looking for. There's open world that's gorgeous and fairly accurate. I live in Chicago and the immediate downtown area is pretty damn close to real life. It's pretty cool tearing up my home streets. There are random events placed around the map that provide a break from just cruising and some practice for honing your skill with your cars. The missions and story mode are great! The acting may be a little cheesy, but this is a video game, not a movie. The summit is a nice touch and I really like all the different specs for the vehicles. You buy one car, which takes a lot of playing and saving $$$ to buy, but really, you get 5 or so by the time you spec it all out (Monster,Street, Drift, Dirt, Perf). Overall, I was looking for a great arcade style racer, and this is it!!!

This game is brilliant. I am playing it at the moment and loving every second. Racing with a story mission is so much more fun than just racing for tropheys.BUT DONT BUY WILD RUNJUST BUY THE CREW.Wild run is a free expansion to the original crew game. Don't be fooled into paying more for wild run because you will just end up paying again for DLC.I bought the original crew and as soon as I put it in my ps4 it downloaded a massive update to wild run. It cost me £5 instead of £18 (current price).Enjoy it but don't be fooled.

i have been playing this game for weeks and weeks and I am still loving the game, like it was the first time i played the game, it gets more easy the more you play. I have spent 2 1/2 hours in a race and only came 2nd in the race. The game is so big and that's the best bit about the game. The game also looks awesome on my LG 49 INCH tv. wow, I still love this game, its not up to me to tell you to buy this game but I think you will be sorry if you don't.

Im not a big fan of racing/car games but im finding this so far to be pretty fun. Its a very casual/arcadey racer with a huge map thats fun to drive around in and its loaded with content and things to do. I particularly enjoy the chases with police and the Calling All Units DLC. It plays a lot like a NFS title however the visuals arent as good, theyre somewhat pretty last-gen in some respects and the cities could be more detailed in my opinion.

I bought this game (after watching a video on it on YouTube) not expecting much, just saw it was cheap and so I bought it and I was surprised by how much fun The Crew actually is! I've always been more of a Need For Speed guy due to my love for driving around in open worlds and The Crew map is probably my favourite driving open world map. I love the contrast of different regions in the game.Recommend for a time killer!

This game got me frustrated to the point of uninstalling it and burying the disc in a drawer.I played the crew 2 demo and was much more interesting and less impossible than thisIf you like a challenge and putting your nerves to the test... This is your game.Graphics are a joy for the eyes, good sound and gameplay but the missions are so impossible from the very beginningStill recommend it 100%

Seller wise - great, no problemsGame wise - even better. The size and longevity of this game is amazing, there’s so much to do and explore, and it still has a huge online presence. Great for £15, will definitely be watching out for the crew 2 :)

Son aged 13 delighted. This is the ultimate edition and came with a code which works. Son has designed his own car. Apparently it is a one player game and my son is enjoying "The Journey" which is similar to The Journey on Fifa.

3.10.2016

Fast delivery and very cheap for the content included people saying this is the standard game yes it is but the wild run is included inside the box as a redeem code you have to type this in the playstation store!!
