I was looking for something to carry my electric Power File and attachments. I was initially hesitant to purchase this product as I had read mixed reviews. I decided however, to take the plunge and then due to sheer incompetence and stupidity bought the wrong size. I purchased the largest of the three available, not the middle sized one that I wanted! Remember the old adage (that I didn't) - measure twice and cut once [in my case measure twice and order once!] . The toolbox that I ordered though was actually less cost for some reason than the smaller one that I meant to order.Anyway - I accepted the larger one - so back to my review. Unlike some reviews that I have read,I consider this to be a very light weight and sturdy product and should take quite some punishment before it breaks open or damages its contents (if it ever does). I use it to store my Powerfile (because of that tool's length and possible vulnerability to damage in transit) and its accessories. Now I do add my own protection such as bubble wrap inside to prevent movement and rattling of the contents, but that's just common sense to me if one wants to maintain the life of one's tools.Overall, I consider this to be a very good sturdy, light weight and professionally made toolbox, not only for the transportation and protection of tools, but it looks really darn good too. Would I buy another? Yes I would.

I've got 2 of these, and in all fairness they're very good at what they do - hold tools. They're nice and light when empty, yet will easily carry over 10kilo of hardware. The side walls are galvanised metal, the lid, hinge, rim and base are plastic. Heavily laden the side wall flexes a bit making latching shut a little fiddly as the lid then doesn't align. The lift out tote is adequate, it's cheap moulded plastic, quite shallow and not designed for heavy kit, but fine for smaller items that'll get lost in the depths otherwise. If you've a lot of small items, then look at something with better internal segregation - this is essentially a single box.The latches are galvanised steel, and have an irritating habit of flapping around when undone, this can cause a snag hazard if you're working near the box.

I bought this as a fathers day gift for my husband. He loves it and has put all his tools in it and there is still plenty of space. It is made of galvanised metal and is 23 inches in length. It is slightly stiff when closing it but I hope that is a sign that it is strong and toughIt is made by Stanley which is one of the reasons I bought this make, my dad used to have one that looked very similar and he had it for years.I also know my husband has lots of Stanley tools so it is a reputable brand.I will probably come back to this review at some later date but for now it seems great and although it sadly doesn't get used as much as I would likek him to use it :-))it does seem like a very hardwearing and good size toolbox.

Good sized toolbox for my tools latches are a bit flimsy as one had broken during transit but was not packed very well at all this doesn't do the toolbox justice really as really quite solid other than that tbh. Was expecting a full length tray inside as others has stated but nevermind about that not a biggy. Would probably fit more tools than what I have but got saws cordless drill charger and other bits and pieces in as well as my bycycle tools and sprays with room for to spare. Also its a good length hight and width and not too heavy either will buy another when the time comes, I'm only using it for home use but I would think a trades person could use it full time maybe won't last as longbut still worth the money paid

I previously has a black and yellow 19" Stably toolbox. Lasted for years though eventually gave in.Overfilling changed the shape and it struggled to stay together over time. The hinges snapped etc...Since switching to this new toolbox iva had no issues, great build looks very sturdy, hinges Cross from one end to the other to avoid any bad angling and damage.Very spacious and much lighter than you think it would be [until the tools go in ofcourse]Flat top and bottom for easy storageClapms at the front are very tough though. Takes some force to open and close but not an issue as you know your tools are secure and won't accidentally spill out.

Pleased with this sturdy box,it has the advantage over many other tool boxes of this type that the walls do not taper and make the base of the box a lot smaller than the top. This means one can get bigger items comfortably seated at the bottom. Construction is solid partly due to the metal wall construction. In fact it so strong that I tried standing my dainty 15st on it and it did not flinch! (Not that I am recommending this). The included tote tray is a bit flimsy and reduces the height of items you can get into the box, it all depends what you are going to use the box for.Excellent product at £20 delivered.

Very good value tool box for the money. Not one to be over loaded with heavy tools but I didn't want that anyway. I bought 3 to separate tools into more manageable/ accessible numbers. For me they're perfect. I grab 1 or 2 toolboxes depending on the job.The half tray which some moan about is just right for me. I can access the box without always needing to remove the tray and put a few small regularly used tools in the tray. Which BTW is well made itself, being bevelled all the way round it should last, unlike most other flimsy trays in tool boxes.Didn't give it 5 stars cos it doesn't make me a cup of tea.

My previous toolbox was getting a bit to full and getting tools out was hassle as I had to fish them out from the bottom. So decided to purchase a bigger box, the hunt for a new toolbox started. Its a big box, combination of hard plastic and steel. Hinges are solid and close well, with lots of room to organise my tools. Very impressed with the quality and looks the business. Also comes with a removable tray that is used for my most used tools, my full size "Predator" saw even has a home now.Reviews are amazing, I too am another satisfied customer. If you want big and style, buy it now.

I'm an amateur DIYer and just needed a large and simple box that could fit in all of the tools I've accumulated over the years. This fits the bill perfectly, and even has space for my drill as well as my other standard sets of tools. The small try that fits below the lid is great for small screw sets, glue, spirit level and tools of that kind. The actual tool box is very sturdy and easily copes with having other objects stacked on top. The two large clips that hold the lid closed are very strong and don't bow even when the box is full of heavy tools. Really happy with this item.

I use this as a storage and transport solution for my 45 rpm vinyl records . they hold more than 200 records , are much more sturdy than regular record cases and much cheaper . Being as it is made by Stanley If you want another in a couple of years they will be around . I used to store my sounds in wooden boxes and they were open toppedso just let the dust in these are perhaps a better solution for longer term storage . I imagine in the correct home setting , they don't link to out of place , very industrial and modern stacked

I use one of these as a surveyors toolkit with hammers prybars screwdrivers water botlles and such like - have had it for 3 years and it has travelled air freight to the channels islands and not broken - catches are great but easy to undo - its not flimsy - Friday last though I was onsite packing up when a van decided to reverse over it! box is toast but all my tools including plastic samples containers inside were all intact 1 catch even still closes - great product - getting another one!

Seems pretty sturdy and good quality, and it's fairly wide so holds quite a few tools. I like the fact that the upper tray is not the full length of the box, allowing you to put tools into the bottom section without removing it each time. As some others have pointed out the clasps are very stiff to open and require some force. Hopefully they'll ease up a bit over time, but I'd rather they were tight than loose and rattly. Overall, good toolbox.

This tool box is perfect for holding various tools, but bare in mind the plastic is not the greatest but you pay for what you get. ( the plastic can bend easily sometimes when you try overload the tool box lol). The latches are extremely good and strong, the places to lock the tool box are great. The tool box does its purpose and ensures your tools will be protected from knocks and people trying to break inside. (Double padlock holes)

Prior to purchasing I was concerned about few reviews complaining about the force required to lock and unlock the catches that keep this tool box closed. Granted, it does take a degree of force to open and close the toolbox, however, if you have a fair few kilos of tool in the box you don't want the clips to fail and the contents to spill out.Well designed, good value and I really can't fault it.

I Love these boxes.I use as a step up as well as a great storage box.Plastic bottom so doesn't scratch customers precious laminate floors.Top tray is a little small but I throw that away and use another one. After a while the metal catches drop off but can be refitted without a problem.Handle can pop out of its mount too if heavily loaded but this is after a couple of years abuse.
