I bought this as a solution for the age old problem of 'posed' photos of people at a social occasion. It is small enough to sit in the middle of your dining table but the supplied tripod although lifting it to a more useful height is too light and wobbly to be of much use. It whirs around panning and zooming in on it's targets allowing viewers of the camera rear to see where it is concentrating and once people have got used to it produces some interesting pictures which would be unachievable by other means. Not an essential piece of equipment but definitely worthwhile if you don't want the camera in your hand all the time.
