For the bugs and glitches in the game so far, none of them actually affect game play. For the bugs and glitches in the game so far, i blame the herd of hyperactive morons who constantly pushed the developers and publsiher to release the game quick. The same herd of hyperactive morons who pushed for the game to be released 'NAO!!!' are now the same ones whining, whinging, moaning and crying hysterically about 'how bad' the game is, and calling the developers silly names and saying 'they're crap at making games' and much worse things besides. This game like most, if not all other games thesedays, come with a couple of patches to download and install the first time you put the disc in.I have beenplaying as Jimmy White in a career and so far I've played 6 games and won 5 of them.Sometimes i could win 2 or 3 frames in a row, then lose 1 or 2, or even go a frame or two under then make a come back for a win.So far, from all i have played, there has NOT been any time where the game play has been broken by a bug or glitch. In fact, i have enjoyed playing the game so much, that i didn't even notice ~6hours of my life blowing past me, that's just how immersive the game play is, at least for me.The game play has been instense at times to the point my hands were sweating and i was concentrating hard while trying to keep cool headed taking shots. I really did feel like i was being challenged, that my opponent was a threat, and that i was actually fighting to get through a QUALIFIER match! Not even for a trophy win, just a qualifier! It's like they made it so that your CPU (computer controlled opponent) actually WANTED to qualify as well, that he wasn't just put there to be a grind, an obstacle that you have to overcome. So do not be put off by naysayers, plus, this is the ONLY official snooker game on this generation of consoles. Now there are many things that sort of damage the immersiveness of the game, at least for me and i will list what i remember from my short time playing the game:1) Commentary is dry, repetitive, and sometimes out of sync with the game.Examples:When you are ahead in points so much the opponent can't come back, they say things like, "it doesn't matter now" and variations using those words, like if you pot another ball, but don't leave yourself on good for a follow up, they will say 'He didn't leave himself in a good position, but at this point, it really doesn't matter'.They repeat this, in variations, after every further pot you make.In terms of variation, I'm really starting to miss John Virgo's reminiscing on old games and situations from old games, like when he'd say something like, 'this is almost the exact same snooker he played back in the Masters in 720BC and it was a nightmare to get out of then, and i suspect it'll be the same today'.There's just nothing going on in commentary except what is actually happening at the table, and even then, they barely talk. So there is no 'TV snooker style' feeling here.In terms of being Out of Sync, i had 7 or so reds still on the table, and i was aiming to pot the black ball, and the commenter says 'This one is for the frame'. SERIOUSLY?! My friend had told me earlier that he was just about to break to open the second frame and the commenter said the same thing.2) Graphical glitches.Examples:The cue going through the cushion when taking a shot. The cue and rest/bridge still sitting on the table as the CPU player takes his shot and the cue ball/or target ball comes back and runs through the cue and rest/bridge.Part of the rest going through a ball.Part of the player/CPU body inside the table as they watch the shot they just took.Another thing to note, which i really didn't like and i don't even suffer from epilepsy, is the 'white flashing' between shots/scenes. It happens in a way which does affect you, and in my case it's just very annoying, but i wouldn't like to actually suffer from epilepsy and be playing this game when that happens.3) Player models.Examples: The bodies look like they were ripped right from WSC Real '11. Now that's not a bad thing really since it'd save developers time, and free up their time to do other things, and even enable them to take a break and get some well deserved rest. Developers reuse assets from previous games all the time. But i did expect there to be a bit more polish. The players faces, while much better than any other snooker game, at times, in certain scenes, also look like they were taken from WSC Real '11.The players animations look as 'stiff' and 'robotic' as they did in WSC Real '11.4) Audio. Now, i played the game as soon as it was installed (PS4) before the updates had even finished downloading and installing, so this may have already been fixed, but I'll mention it anyway.I noticed when hitting the cue ball, at say, 70%, it sounded the same when hitting it 30%. Hitting the ball say, over 80% sounded ok.Other things i noticed, but aren't problems/issues with the game it self:- Not being able to create your own character. I'd have loved to be able to create ME in the game, and start out at the bottom and work my way up to the professional level of the game. This is an odd thing to leave out of the game, since it is a staple in pretty much every game, and has been since even on the playstation 1 era as far as i recall.- Play as 'Legends' of the game. I would really have loved to recreate old matches, like Jimmy White VS Alex Higgins, or John Parrot VS Alex Higgins.I would like to be able to play a friend online, without a shot timer or frame limit. So the option to turn off shot timer and set frames to like they would have in the real world final would be great.I know not everyone (myself included) could be able to sit down and play a friend online for say, 19 frames (or whatever it is) in one sitting, so they'd have to make it so you could save the game and be able to resume, and that might be tricky to do because it's not just one persons data they'd have to try and link up to the game server and sync upto the last save point, it's two sets of data to link upto the game server, and make it all work.Anyway, don't be put off, buy the game. If you enjoyed WSC Real '11, you'll love this.

Love my snooker and having no game since wsc real many years ago on the ps3 was really looking forward to this.Read some reviews which were mixed to say the least but still bought it and I'm glad I did.It is missing a lot and lacking a lot, but what's there is really good, so if the developers release a few decent updates it could be exceptional. The graphics despite what a lot of reviewers say are fine, it's a snooker game not some open world game that relies on graphics as a selling point, the players do look funny but you will never be looking at them as they are not on screen when you play and what is on screen (The table & balls surprisingly enough) is well polished and looks good. The controls are well laid out and responsive, the lack of an overhead view to begin with is wierd but it's not included for a very good reason (Which is my next point). The aiming system that so many moan about is exceptional, instead of having a line that goes straight into the pocket, mixed with an overhead view that would make this long line easier to aim and therefore making the game too easy!!! The line here can actually expand and contract in length and width depending on the difficulty and angle of all shots...... So the better your positional game is by getting the white finishing in an ideal position the easier your aiming system and shot will be..... If you lose control of the cue ball then just like real life the shot marker will be wider and shorter making it much more difficult to line up and complete the shot...... It's mimicking real life and forces you to concentrate more on playing like a pro and absolutely works.A lot of people want it to be easier so they can rack up 147's for fun like the snooker games of old allowed, where as this makes you work for everything and the whole aiming system is brilliant at this and makes centuries feel like something and fell like you have actually earned it.My final point is the folk complaining of the difficulty of the game, which again I think goes back to the aiming system, these are obviously gamers who just want an easy arcade style game knocking in centuries with ease.... So far I've won 96 games and lost 2, so I'm either the greatest games player in the world (Here's a clue... I ain't!!!) or this game if played properly like it should is not that difficult, yes when you face better opponents they can knock in centuries but as in real life snooker if you miss a pot and leave a top 10 player in amongst the balls they will clear up..... Play safe and get a good cue ball and they will struggle to even get the balls safe...... With hours racked up in this game I've yet to see ai that seems overpowered or unfair. The biggest drawback I have so far which hopefully is rectified in a future update is the lack of a create a player, even for the career mode you are forced to pick a real life player, you can even start as Ronnie o'sullivan..... But there are no stats to upgrade or speak off in the game so it makes no difference who you lick but would have been nice to be able to create and name your own player. So yeah, create and player and upgradable stats for career mode are missing but everything else is 100% spot on.Don't listen to the idiot reviews complaining about it being too hard or having bad graphics, as explained above this is just completely wrong. If you like snooker at all and have the patience to play the game of snooker as it is in real life and not just knock in centuries with ease like some mobile game then don't hesitate to buy this.... It is a quality game through and through!

Snooker 19 looks good and is well presented, it has all the players on the tour, Neil Foulds is one of the commentators and you can play at all the venues, plus there is an audience present who clap, cheer and there's even plenty of coughing amongst them. The players have a good likeness, but some like Ken Doherty I think in real life has rusty brown coloured hair, but in the game he has jet-black hair, plus some players are depicted as being a lot slimmer than present real life... and even when a player wins they still have a pokerfaced expression, but that aside it's the Snooker that counts. After a look at the controls and a quick tutorial you can pick a player and your opponent and how many frames you want to play for a quick match,if you choose say Ronnie, you can then choose the level of player you want to play against raging from hard, medium to easy ranked, but if your game is not up to scratch even an easy player will beat you.Playing a shot is not straightforward, there is precise fine tuning to be made before you're happy to advance with your shot, and spin, speed and position of the cue ball all have to be predetermined before you strike. This is where I struggled. Positioning the cue ball every time I found to be rather difficult and your speed has to be spot on. So far I've only managed a 35 break, which is nowhere near good enough to compete. Before you take your shots you can view the balls around the table, but you are restricted to what a player would see in real match play, meaning at the moment there is no overhead cam, so when lining up and playing a long shot from the balk end can be a bit tricky.I have yet to play a tournament or opted into career mode because there's not much point until you get good. If you're an actual Snooker player of decent ability then you'll love getting to grips with Snooker 19, but if you're used to just watching Snooker like me, then it might literally drive you Snooker 'loopy' trying to pot and get position consistently. Overall a good Snooker game, but you'll have to get ‘really’ good at it. I better go and put some practice in, especially to get a 147 break for the platinum trophy.... |:¬`

The game is really well made and mimics snooker in a more accurate way than any snooker title previously has. Amazon failed to deliver on time so I had to get this from Game the day after release... but the game itself is great so ignore the hate. It’s not a triple A title but it’s an excellent snooker sim.IMPORTANT NOTE - a couple of extra points, there’s the mention of bugs etc. in a couple of the reviews; these have been rectified through very early patches which is exceptional support from the developers - as such these comments can be ignored. As for the mention of this game being difficult... it is tough and takes a few games to get used to but that’s what makes it worthwhile. This is a snooker game and a snooker sim - it’s not pool. As such it’s only right that the game requires precision and thought, you shouldn’t be making a 50-100+ break until you’ve got a good grip on the controls and you understand how to build a break. If you’ve ever watched snooker, or more to the point played snooker, you’ll be more than aware that it’s a sport which requires concentration and positioning has to be respected - the game sticks to this and that should be commended. My review would be 5 stars if the AI played their shots a little more realistically, they seem to have been programmed to miss etc. at certain points based on the difficulty of the opponent/career choice - the problem with this is that on the easier difficulties they will often be out of position but still continue their break and then they will miss easier shots than they’ve already sunk. It would be an improvement if the AI was more inclined to play poor positional shots based on their difficulty and then subsequently either miss on these occasions or play safety shots rather than over ambitious shots. The AI tends to only play safety shots when they absolutely have to when it would be better if they played more defensively/selectively at times.

I was so eager to give this 5 stars... but i can't currently... as someone has pointed out, the lack of a create player option isnt great in a.... individually focused, solo based sport game ?.... if ever there was a purpose for a 'create your own'...surely that is a misjudgement, and i doubt this will ever come about now the game has been released.I have edited this review, as at release date, the best i could give this game was 3* until theu improved the online play, well, to the developers credit, they updated alot since, and this gsme is so much more playable (online particularly)... and therefore pleased to update my review equally, well done Lab42 for making this a fantastic snooker game, enjoyable on and offline... varied difficulty (with the introduction of pro+ and master+ difficultys, new cutscenes, new intros, improved lighting, lengthened match and shot timers to a respectable and actually enjoyable length now, means there is alot more opportunity for safety play... these developers are clearly listening to all the input players are giving, and they are acting eefectively to make this game better still, well done, now a deserving 4* game, can they improve it further? Where i could justify changing to a 5*? Time may well tellOne more note...theres no pool incase anyone was curious...im not too bothered by that....but im sure some will be.

if you are or thinking about snooker then this is the game for you I'm disabled and before i used to play the game and i would say good at it I've not been able to play for 3 years and really like most of the things i miss doing. well i found a game on play store downloaded it and was happy enough with it UNTIL i got this it's the nearest to the real thing. and it will not take you long to get used to work it out once you have had a few frames easy as playing on the real thing. the good thing with this you don't have to play online you can play your self or you can play the CPU in the game but what ever you pick you will enjoy playing with this game i do however think it's a bit pricey but i waited but it never got any cheeper so itchy feet won and i bit the bullet and bought it.and to be honest I'm delighted with this game I'm 60! lol and it's the first time I've bought a Xbox one i know your thoughts are a bit late or old but I'm in my house 24/7 so i did it and no regrets so if you are looking at this then your thinking should i or not i can honestly say you will not regret buying the game so stop thinking about it just get it then you put up a review so i can read more about this game good luck hopefully this helps you make up your mind cheers Go for it

There are quite a few negative reviews with this game. The graphics aren’t brilliant etc. However, the gameplay is excellent and its a game I really enjoy playing. The creators clearly knew it had some limitations by not charging £40-50 from launch, but having played snooker games down the years, this one is the best i’ve played. It’s difficult to master and takes plenty of practice to be able to judge the pace of the cue ball. If you stick with it, you won’t be disappointedMy main criticism would be the lack of ability to create your own player in career mode. I’d rather be able to put myself into the game and rise through the ranks. Would love to see an update with that feature added. Some people mention becoming dispirited with how hard it is,but it is worth keeping going. I managed a 147 recently (Get me, eh?!) and can regularly make decent breaks, but I still make plenty of mistakes and poor shot choices.

Despite the mass negativity for me this game is good, and very enjoyable. Ok - the players look like PS3 standard graphics. No argument there, it's disappointing. But the view of the table, the balls, the venues and the physics are really nice.Career mode is so rich. It's a shame you can't create your own character, but at the same time, I remember old snooker games where I couldn't play as a professional. It's great to be able to select your favourite player and take them through every ranking and invitational tournament. For the money, this is a really good game. If it was £50 it would be 3 stars.

19.4.2019

This game is an excellent effort, and a brilliant first game in what I hope to be a continuing series. The physics are great, the only issue is the cue ball can run on a bit at times. The AI is pretty good and will only improve with time as they patch the game and listen to community feedback. Career mode and online are both good. Overall though, it's just a great representation of snooker and highly recommended for any fans. There are a lot of ridiculous snooty reviews going about, but don't listen to them. I am very happy with my purchase and can't wait to see what the future holds for this game.

2.5.2019

For a £25 game this plays well. Licences and roster are sublime. Commentary and crowd are respectable.Only downside I would say if every player seems to play as good/bad as each other despite of how good they are in real life. Number 150 rank in the world can pot an almost impossible shot that even Ronnie o’sullivan wouldn’t try to attempt and if you miss just one shot you are very much so punished for it by the opponent who rarely ever makes a mistake despite what difficulty you play onAll round a great snooker that very long over due for current gen but well received nonetheless

20.4.2019

At last! A new modern looking snooker game for the Xbox One. I loved all the previous snooker games up to WSC Real 09 but that was quite a few years ago and then they stopped releasing them regularly. This game is quite similar but the controls are a bit different and it takes a few frames to get used to them. Mind you I got a 100+ break in the 2nd frame that I played using Amateur aiming aid so still quite easy to pick up. Will last a while playing through the season mode and there is online multiplayer available too. If you like Snooker/Pool games then it's worth buying.

26.4.2019

Pro list,Controls are smooth and very easy to useYou can play a career and pick you eventsThe physics of the games are fantastic.ConsConsidering it 2019 the graphics are poor. You can not create your own character you must play as existing player. The AI isn't great every player does the same shots just some miss a few more than others. There is a white flash between every shot that bothered me at first but you do get used to itOverall this is a great game, is it perfect no, but if your looking for a solid snooker game that plays well look no further.

30.5.2019

If you like snooker, don’t be put off by the negative reviews. It might not have the depth of what we’ve become accustomed to with sports games, but the playability is brilliant. The online play is so much fun. There’s nothing better than splitting the pack and racking up a big break. You can’t create your own character, the players may not look fantastic, but this plays a great game of snooker, it’s £25 and it’s really addictive. If you’re unsure whether to take a punt on this game (as I was with the mixed reviews), it’s totally worth it.

24.5.2019

Best snooker game on PS4. A how to play and all the snooker tournaments I can think of are covered here. Graphics are good but commentary becomes a reappearing process with same phrases often repeated. The game itself is good and if you persevere you will become a better player on the real table as knowing where to hit the cue ball will become easier. Strength of shot along with angles etc make this a worthy wait. If you are into snooker...Buy it

26.9.2019

I bought this for my Son as a present. It is a good snooker game, helps him to forget about things for awhile. It has all the official license tournaments. Have played other snooker games but playing this Snooker 19, it you to walk around the table, and play upcoming stars of the future and also play with classic players such as Rocket Ronnie. It can be difficult to play and get the angle and positioning right. Cannot go wrong for the price
