All my six year old wanted for Christmas was a wooden sword. That was it.He was so excited when he opened up this sword on Christmas Day. I was originally worried it was going to be flimsy or easily damaged, but I was proven wrong. My son played with this all day, doing numerous swipes and turns with it bashing it a few times here and there and, it stayed strong and in good condition. The sword itself is great quality. It's not flimsy like it somewhat looks in the picture and it's not so heavy that a five or six year old couldn't use it. The handle has a fabric tape wrapped around it so there won't be any splinters and like the picture shows, there's a wooden circle end so little hands don't accidently let that sword swing out of their grasp and hit th TV - or you!Very impressed with this purchase. My son now wants the axe.EDIT: 6 months on this is still going strong, there are no cracks, marks and definitely no signs of wear and tear. I 100% stand by this review.

Upon my son's (9yrs) suggestion, I went ahead and bought two of these swords. When they promptly arrived (next day), he went out and played with his friend. They loved the swords fight! The blade measures 49 cm from the handle to the top, with the handle measuring 14 cm width. They were really a good fit for my son.The only thing I would point out is that the wood is not very well finished and the swords came back with some chips after a first play fight. They feel very safe, though, because they are light, so it is better that they are not built with a super secure finish but they feel light and handy for the kids to play around.I would not recommend this for small children but for the age of my son (9-10yrs)they are absolutely perfect and a pleasure to play with. Just remember to order two of them for some game sword fights with friends!

Mostly excellent - but running repairs needed on the join between the grip and the pommel (bit on the bottom). I’d suggest drilling through the pommel to add a long screw to strengthen the join. Both swords broke at that join within about 30 mins of my 6&7yo playing with them. Easy fix though. The blades are excellent - tough and light - no serious notches or cracks after two days of serious punishment! - update - end of day two, one had broken in half. Braced, glued, and awaiting wrapping and on we go. Not going to dock a star though, not much could survive the punishment my boys inflict... and at least with wood, running repairs are possible!

As a Knight of the white tree of Gondor i cannot give much time to my son and he aspires to be like me when he is of age.I have purchased this sturdy blade of wood in hope it would aid in his training. The King has gone mad and the white wizard would do well to have him replaced for rumour has it that Isildurs heir has returned.

In my 5 y.o's hands it lasted a full day at a medieval weekend, however day two the pommel fell off. Not a big issue to stick it back on - they simply don't seem to use enough glue but took the opportunity to repaint in silver when rebuilding it.Good and solid but be ready with some quick wood glue to avoid tears....

Excellent for play or training. My only gripes are cosmetic. The ply laminate will fray on the guard edges after a short while, the hot glue on the stars is not very robust and the handle wrap is just fabric duck tape with no padding. Dont let this put you off though, all easily fixed if required. My son loves it.

My four year old loved this sword. Bought with the shield. The only I issue I had with them both is that the end part of the sword broke off almost straight away. Easily made solid with a drill, a couple of small wodden dowels and a some wood glue.

i really like this sword because it is good toy to play with and some good wood solid but the only thing i found not very good was that the second day i had it the handle fell of but very simpalto reaper i it suggest you should get it:)

This is clearly a fantastic child's toy and well worth the asking price. Strong, light and well made. I used this for fancy dress. I used acrylic paint to change the colour. This worked well. The sword is also a good size.

An excellent product - has withstood and won many battles already. It also has many more battles to win but will last a long time... but will my house survive the daily battles with so many warriors?

This sword came in such a huge box. It was not necessary. The product itself looks really good and feels sturdy. Christmas present so I will not know how good it will be until after 25 December.

This is a lovely item. It arrived quickly, is smooth and a good weight, and seems to be robust and constructed well enough for my five year old to whack it about with no adverse effects.

Bought this for my son and he's very happy with it. Simple design and made of wood, so little to go wrong and hopefully it won't break easily.

This was for my 6 year old son and he seems to like it. Seems solid compared to loads of other swords i have bought for him over the years

Bought these for child’s fancy dress. We spray painted the wooden part in silver and then added some gloss. They looked very realistic.
