I needed a dry bag to keep my extra clothing dry while backpacking and these bags were recommended to my by another seasoned backpacker. I had originally bought one of the regular compression dry sacks (the non ultra sil version) and I had liked it very much. When it came time to purchase another dry bag I chose the ultra sill version this time. When you compare this to the original it seems a little less durable but its performance has stood up just as well while weighing less. What sets these bags apart from other types of dry sacks in the eVENT technology that lets you compress your dry sack by letting all the air out while still remaining water tight.I bought the 6L size bag which is about big enough to fit a couple extra pair of socks and underwear,an inflatable pillow, a travel size towel, and a set of thermals. While this is the perfect size for my needs, if you intend on carrying more clothing I would recommend the next size up.

I bought this based on the reviews and based on past experience with sea-to-summit products. I've always liked the brand and have been impressed by the quality of their products. I have some of their dry bags for around 10 years now and still going strong. I even use the larger ones to wash clothes in while travelling. This bag was bought to store my Alpkit Pipedream 400-XL sleeping bag, and it fits perfectly. The sleeping bag goes in easily, and the compression straps do an excellent job of making it small enough to fit in my back back.I've not tested just how waterproof it is yet, but based on other sil-nylon products I have from Sea-to-Summit, I do not expect any issues.

After one week of use, my son has discovered that the straps have a tendency to twist. I like the weight savings over the original eVent Compression Dry sack, but you need to be aware that there are compromises on the straps. In particular, if you like to hook your compression sack outside your bag, and clip it on by passing straps through the straps, the original works better. In this version, the straps can come loose from this type of use.

This is my second purchase of this product. I use them for two of my sleeping bags. I cannot personally vouch for the waterproof aspects of it, but I am impressed with how much you can quickly reduce the size of a compressible object like a sleeping bag or clothing, simply by cinching down four straps (or three if you use the flip method to extract the contents).

It is simple to use (just fold the top edge over several times and pinch it between two Velcro sides) and it is waterproof. I wear it at a waterpark and my money and keys stay perfectly dry. It is flat and light. A simple, but probably best design I have used to protect stuff while swimming, you probably want to get a better "breakaway" neck strap though.

So far so good. I use these to compress my down hammock quilts. The cinch sack help compress down for space and keep them protected from potential rain or other wetness. The only tricky part is allowing the air out while compressing. Since its a dry sack, it tends to hold the air...

Went rafting with this and theres no seepage! It works! However, I did not submerge it for protracted periods, it did however survive me getting flipped inot the river for a short period of time. This medium size case was good enough for a Samsung Note 2 plus change...

using these for backpacking. A bit heavier than I wanted, but they work well. There is enough handle to attach to the backpack shoulder strap. It's wide enough to keep my arms dry even using hiking poles. Very nice siliconized nylon - looks like it will stand up well!

Lightweight, strong, compact. Uses durable and waterproof siliconized Cordura for the ultimate in utility. My only minor change request would be to make the handle larger for better handling and upgrade the wrist strap with more durable cordage that is adjustable.

I purchased this for my sleeping bag. The bag fit but was very tight so I did not use it because it was a struggle to get the bag out and I did not think I wanted to do that after a long day of walking the Camino. Left it a home.

Love these. I actually have the XXS, XS, and S. I've taken it on some longer backpacking trips. Kept my clothing dry even in very humid late summer east coast weather. Held up to washing after being on a 9 day back packing trip.

after several years of use fishing and kayaking this case holds up extremely well. There's been no issue with the welds and the closure system design has never failed. keys, phone and other small items always come home dry.

this bag works well to keep my phone I phone 4s) dry while Kayaking. I put the phone in this case and put this case into a dry sack and stick it under the hull of the yak and it stays dry as the Kobe desert

So far it seems fine it's light , but I don't feel it looks any different from any cheap umbrella, I'm sure it is good quality it's just not obvious, we shall see

These have become my favorite go to dry sacks! They are waterproof, lightweight and can be compressed with the straps, thus allowing more room in the panniers.
