I bought this based on the fabulous reviews and the recommendation of someone I know who swears by the amp. NOT disappointed! hard to believe there's only 3 watts in there. Great sound quality, great build quality, really small and truly portable. I take it along to the village hall guitar nights and never turn it up to full volume, I play a Crafter acoustic guitar, a Vox electric Ukelele and a homemade Cigar Box Guitar through this and it sounds splendid, powered by 6 AA batteries (mains adaptor come with it). The only amp setting on this that I can't really get to grips with is the Heavy Octave (you play a note, amp adds a bass note 1 octave lower), If like me,when playing a tune you leave a note ringing - usually an open string- from earlier in the tune, it seems to confuse the amp and you get some odd sounds. Still, it's not a setting I'd particularly looked for. I love the 'chorus', 'phase', 'flanger' settings. Some great sounds there from my instruments. Single input jack for an instrument OR Mic, another for an Mp3/ipod link so you can play along to a backing track. On the back there's a mini jack output for phones or a link to a recording device or PC..... I just love it!

I wanted a little amp to take and leave at work. I use a Blackstar HT40 tube amp and think I am bias when it comes to sound. I wanted a little amp that I would mainly use headphone through. I looked at this amp along with the Marshall MG10CF. I took a guitar along and plugged into the Roland, great real sounds on low volume; the effects sound meaty and genuine; a truly great amp for the GBP109 mark. I then gave the Marshall a go, not bad and really it would do for what I wanted it for through headphones. I settled on the Marshall being GBP50 cheaper. You get what you payed for; when I got home and got it out I could not believe what a cheap unreal sound it produced; the overdrive had no power like a tube, the Roland gives that impression, I play a Fender Telecaster with Greasebucket pickups and a Gibson with P90'S. It sounded like a really cheap amp which it was. I took it back the next day, paying difference and took the Roland home. If your looking for a small decent amp, with knobs and effects to play with then look no further; well worth the extra cash. If you have another GBP90 to play with then get the Blackstar HT1, however the Roland is a great substitute.

This amp is brilliant! A sturdy design means that you can easily carry it around with you or throw it into the back of a car with your axe. It works off both mains and batteries and is ideal for a 'pop up' gig in your local village hall or wine bar. The amp models sound really good and it also comes with some nifty effects including delay and chorus. If you're down at the local social club or arts centre and you want to hook it up to the club's PA, there is a headphone/line out socket on the back of the amp. Hook up your headphones to the said socket and turn the amp model selector switch to 'Extreme'for a real brain boiling experience! As well as the standard guitar jack input there is also an input for your iPhone so you can jam along with your favourite tracks and there is no excuse for a crappy 'out of tune' guitar sound, just use the built in guitar tuner. One other feature is a memory function that remembers certain control settings that you may use, very useful.

Bought this Roland Micro Cube GX for only £89 from my local music shop around June,'16 and have noticed its went up £16 since then.....strange!!?Anyway what does it sound like....pretty special is the answer especially when you have such a brilliant range of effects and settings, you won't even need any guitar pedals as this bad boy has everything built in on board, not forgetting to mention also beautifully compact and extremely well built.I use a Tanglewood TSE 505 Les Paul and play mostly licks and shuffles and when I have the setting on 'R-fier Stack' combined with some gain and delay I can easily while away the hours playing the blues to my hearts content........and for those of us who lovethe guitar that's what it's all about.

I started looking at Micro Amps as I wanted to get something small enough for my sons bedroom that I could also use to practice with. Most of the Amps we looked at were not much better than toys and had very few features. This Amp is packed with features and produces sounds that are equivalent to much bigger equipment. The tone is great and it seems to be much louder than the stated 3W would suggest. This thing also runs on batteries which means you can take it anywhere. You can also connect this Amp to an iPad and play backing tracks through the amp. The backing tracks are not effecting by the Amps overdrive/effects and there is a separate master volume.Very pleased that we chose the RolandMicro Cube.

This is a neat little amp that offers good volume and a variety of effects via a three way switch that is programmable for different amplifier characteristics from your iPhone. I'm an acoustic player and have enjoyed playing with the effects. The "acoustic amp" plug in effect is not very loud so would be the least useful in a gigging situation, but the other settings would easily fill a medium sized gig/open mic space. The amp has only one 1/4 inch jack input but does have a line-in so that you can play along with pre-recorded backing from an iPhone or mp3 player.Note that this is a mains adapter amplifier, I guess you mighty be able to rig up a battery option but I haven't tried this.

I bought this as an amplifier for my electric silent violin - a Yamaha. This is primarily a guitar amp and works very well for its intended purpose I imagine. Some of the effects are a bit bizarre when playing violin music though - very strange, but interesting!Does enable one to punch out some very strong sound from an instrument which is perhaps mostly intende or used for quiet practice while not annoying the family or the neighbours.Still pleased with it although it is difficult to get an authentic violin sound out of it.Can well recommend it for anyone taking up electric guitar.Excellent autonomy from the built in battery pack as well as mains or usb power. Forcefull sound!

This little amp is pretty amazing for such a little box that can be battery powered. I filled it with 6 rechargeable 2500ma/h AA batteries and switched it on. It sounds great and very powerful for the size, 4 pedals Chorus, phaser, tremolo and octivator can be mixed with delay or reverb. Also there are 8 models amps and gain knob. this gives so much variation and flexibility you won’t be disappointed. Also if you have an IPhone it comes with a lead to plug it in, you can then play audio from the IPhone and record you playing over the top and then mix down and do it again. It’s great, very light and portable. The best little portable amp I’ve seen in my 35 years of playing guitar.

Having checked the reviews of this amp on the internet ( the reviews were universally positive) I decided to buy one. The price offered by Web Basket was by far the most competitive about £30 less than many others. I ordered it on Saturday evening and it arrived on the Wednesday. It came protectively packaged and all the accessories eg carrying strap and transformer were there. The amp itself is as good as they say, you have so many different amp models ( JC Clean, Classic Stack, blackline) to choose and with the effects, chorus, reverb, etc you can get so much more out of your playing. If you are guitar hobbyist or if you go busking then you need to get one.

This is amazing! I've been playing for 20 years, and I have owned Marshall Stacks and Orange amps and have been using a Vox AC30 for the last 10 years. This amp does all of these sounds very well. I play in a covers band at weddings and pubs, and I use it for practice with the full band and it's loud enough to keep up with the drums and a very loud bass player. Obviously it's not loud enough to play Wembley stadium. The effects are very usable, and I don't bother bringing my pedal board to practice any more. The battery life is good, and I use it to play my mp3 player through as well.Amazing how much practice amps have come on in the last 10 years.

Its a very nice sounding amp for the size, a little bit muddy if you want to play anything on a 7 string which im putting down to the speaker size, unfortunately when i tried to use the amp on batteries it was intermittently cutting out, this was a surprise as the amp itself was very nice and its not something that would be an issue 95% of the time but made me doubt the electronics enough to return the amp and order a fender mustang instead, if portability is important to you this amp is excellent and for the price the sound is great but if you just want a simple bedroom practice amp i would recommend the fender mustang 1 instead

Great sound and well made. Has a nice solid feel to it, looks nice and a really good range of amps. The effects are Ok but not what I would have chosen, although the gain and volume work really well together giving a very progressive feel, not just on/off.Came with a 12 volt power supply which was a bonus cos I hadn't expected it. Also sounds great when playing my phone or radio through the 2nd input. I tried the blackstar fly 3 before settling on this and there really is no comparison. Price wise I guess you get what you pay for, although it isn't actually that much more expensive when you take into account the power supply.

Great practice amp, and comes reasonably priced too. The thing I really like is that you can download the Roland Cube Kit app and you are able to transfer different amp models on to the Cube 10GX and there is something for everyone from cleans to slightly overdriven to all out metal. The 3 band EQ means you can really tailor your sound, although I find myself turning the bass off completely. If you find the JC-120 clean a bit too clean, then try the Deluxe Reverb model from the Cube Kit app as it's much warmer.

This is a superb little amp, excellent sound & build quality with a good range of quality effects. Like others on here I originally bought a Vox Mini3 G2 and returned it due to cheap build quality and constant hiss when switched on (even with the volume/gain right down). The Roland Micro Cube GX is more expensive than the Vox but you get what you pay for. I highly recommend this product if you're looking for a small guitar amp with a big sound that's capable of running on batteries.

after a lot of research I bought this to use with my Hofner archtop at our worship group practices and smaller venues, in order to be able to compete with an electric piano! Also, having back problems, I needed something light. I have been amazed at the quality of the tone I can get, and the great variety of FX! Also the volume is unbelievable for its size (I can carry it in a shopping bag!) last practice we were told to turn it down a bit! Can't recommend enough!
