I recently bought a Super Champ X2 to replace my roland cube 80gx, and it sounds phenomenal! Its part valve and part solid state, but have no doubts it sounds great. The clean channel is pretty good, but I think channel two sounds a little better. And with the voicing knob, the amp covers everything from a fender 65 princeton to a marshall JCM800 to a mesa boogie rectifier. The effects are good, I think mostly they’re as good as most pedals, though there is no effects loop. The amp struggles a bit to produce the heavier dirtier sounds at max volume, and the clean gets a little crunchy at the max volume, but its a wee 15 watt amp with a wee 10” speaker, it does the best it can.All in all I think its 10/10,

I have owned one of these for about 4 years and bought it because it is lightweight and features real tubes for that unique tone. This little amp is stunning for its size. Huge variety of easy to dial in sounds from heavy distortion to creamy Jazz tones. The 15W of tube power is enough for most small gigs and it is easily miked or able to be used with XLR out if you are playing in a larger venue. But...it has its limitations and the digital sound effects are not a replacement for individual pedals if you are an advanced musician who is willing to carry around a lot of kit. For portability, versatility, weight and price this one is unbeatable.
