I bought this for two reasons - I wanted a controller keyboard that could be powered by USB from my iPad, plus I wanted a good quality key action.The A-49 has a really nice key feel - it's one of the best brands for this.It's light to carry, but feels well made and professional.Incidentally, if you want an inexpensive carry bag for this, I found a camera tripod bag on eb*y that quite a snug fit for it, is well padded, and only cost £23.It had the following description - 850mm Padded Camera Video Tripod Bag Travel Protect For Gitzo Velbon Manfrotto.I highly recommend this controller keyboard!

This controller can't be beaten on features and quality at this I price point. Neat additions like the two rotary knobs which automatically detect your rack synth filters (Yamaha XS used here) so very easy to get real time VCF control from the board. I've tried the cheaper M-Audio and to be honest, it's rubbish. This may be twice the price of the M-Audio, but it's four times the functionality with a very playable evenly balanced, quite keyboard. Fantastic. Well done Roland.
