I have a number of software synths on my iPad but until I bought this I had no real way of playing them properly (read, messing about with them!). This was designed to pair with iOS devices, and it does so perfectly. You'll hear and read about people going on about latency, and that's right, it's a thing. But, what most people with latency issues do is make the mistake of also having the speaker be wireless. That's too much. If you have this keyboard connected using Bluetooth LE, and then either use the speakers in the ipad or plug directly into the aux input on some speakers, you'll experience pretty much negligible latency. Is there any at all? Sure, a tiny bit, but I'm not a high-speed concert pianist, and for 99% of people it will be imperceptible. There are plenty of YouTube videos of people playing this fast and it keeping up.They keys themselves, while small, or perfectly playable, and the unit itself is sturdy enough, even on your lap. I got the 61 key version which is quite long, but also the best value for money in my opinion. Even then it's still good in the lap, but if you don't need or want that many octaves, you can save money and get less. You can still use the octave up and down buttons to go up and down the scales.Batteries on this last ages, but you can connect via USB to both power it and completely eliminate any latency whatsoever. Best of all worlds.

I've a digital piano for proper playing, but when it comes to entering simple tracks into sequencer or scoring software, nothing's better or more immediate than a little keyboard on your desktop. Whether using Sonar, Sibelius, or something else, multi-part orchestrations and synth tracks and vocal notes that don't need the full span of an 88 note piano are quickly and accurately executed on the microKEY. The keys are small but not painfully so (though I have small fingers!). The velocity sensitivity is good on the default and adjustable to 10 settings in software. The stick provides a valuable XY interface for many synths and instruments to get the most from them. Build quality is pretty robust. There's nothing I can fault it on. This little device is perfect for the job and at a very reasonable price, especially when you factor in the few quality audio packages it comes bundled with, including the Kork M1 virtual instrument, AAS Lounge Lizard Session Rhodes electric piano instrument, and AAS Strum Accoustic Session instrument that authentically recreates strummed and fingered guitar tracks on a keyboard.I read around a good few reviews of microkeyboards before I settled on this, and I continue the recommendations. If you're after a desktop keyboard, you'll not be at all sorry with this choice.(Used with Windows 7 32 bit, Sonar X1, and Notion 4)

I find this MIDI Controller to be just the thing I needed for my music production. :) I can get my ideas down quickly and then fine tune them in my DAW's MIDI Piano Roll. Typically I can have an idea, then lose it because it would have took too long just to manually draw in the notes and length, and it's just so much faster with a MIDI Controller. It's got 2 octaves, a Modulation/Pitch Shift analogue stick, octave shifting buttons, a simple single note arpeggiator and a sustain button with tap functions to control the rate of the arpeggiator. It's got a fairly good feel, despite it's small size. It connects through USB, and supports anything that uses MIDI input.Feels better to use than some Yamaha keyboard I once played on too. All of the aforementioned details does justice enough for my 5 stars. But wait! There's more! You get a license key with the MIDI controller which works as a login to access a bundle of music software for free, apparently totalling up to the value of $1100 dollars. I recommend accessing the included software bundle and registering the products. It's going to save you money. The software included is quite a generous offering, and would make me want to rate it with an extra 5 stars. It's a huge saver. I love Korg products in general but the inclusion of this was a great move for Korg. 5/5 stars. :)

Well for four years I've been looking for a midi controler that is compatible with my O.S.I tried M-Audio Oxygen the silver one but it only worked with certain demos and software, I even tried the cheap RockBand 3 keyboard that boasted midi compatibility.I love 1980s synth music and was nearly going to go for Arturias Minilab but was detered because of the bad reviews with compatibility and possible purchase of the Steinberg key, too much faffing about to get something to work.Korg has been around since the 1980s and reviews looked great, I went to their website to check compatibility and ordered the Korg Micro key 25 cos I want to travel around with it. I'm very pleased it works with every peice of software, there's only minor prolems with volume but I have to look at my sound driver settings. With most demos or software you have make sure press direct sound for audio device and primary sound driver. Your keyboard will find these settings within minutes.A great buy and cheap highly recommended for beginner synth software lovers!!Update: I did buy Arturia Minilab, but then sold it and still have the nice vintage software Analog 3. I didn't get on with how complex Minilab looked and the pitch and modulation strops, id rather have wheels on a keyboard so I'm probably going to get Korg Microkey 37 eventually! :)

Amazon sent me the MicroKEY Air by mistake :-) They're almost the same, only the Air means you can play the Korg pianos (and other instruments) from you ipad or ipod without directly connecting the instrument. This works very well, so if you want Air ability, I recommend paying the extra (or hope that Amazon make another mistake). The Mirco keys on both the Korg Microkey and Mircrokey Air are nicely sprung and the size works well unless you have very fat fingers. I struggle a bit on octaves when adapting from the full size keyboard, but you get there eventually.Key size White key = 1,85cm x7.9cm: Black key 8mm x 4.2cm (before tapering down to the white keys). The piano software is good.So good I bought the other piano settings to expand the range. There are some good piano+strings/ synth instruments if you pay the extra.Korg are the only microkeys with more that 3 octaves - I got four, but I'm tempted by 5.If you own a usb full size keyboard you'll probably find that the microkeys on the Korg don't reduce the length too much by comparison (10 cm reduction from my full size Axiom). But width of the instrument and weight are massively reduced, so ideal for informal perfomance, busking, and travel generally etc.Very happy.

This keyboard works really well. It has mini keys that are not too mini. They have a nice feel to them. They are fully velocity sensitive. This keyboard is available in 3 sizes, I chose the medium 37 key one, which is perfect. You plug this keyboard into a normal USB port on your computer and it just works. (The keyboard has no sounds of course, you have to connect it to something). There are two versions of this keyboard, the normal one and the "Air" one. The normal one may be all you need. The Air's wireless connection is nice, but it means you need to add batteries. You may as well just plug in the normal one. Even with IOS devices, it's easy to get an adaptor to plug the normal USB lead in.The software that comes with this keyboard is fantastic, worth much more than the keyboard itself. Fantastic piano, guitar, synths etc - and Reason Lite, one of the best music programs. It's the software that makes this keyboard a bargain worth 5 stars.

Got this Korg microKey keyboard and I am very pleased with it. It worked after making a few adjustments with Making Music 14 and made a huge difference to the way I work with music programs without taking up much space. I also like the way the joystick enhances sounds (something that's very hard to duplicate with a mouse). However, the included software is not worth the trouble to download. OMG the number of Software pins, authorisation codes and licences for each piece of free software is amazing! I mean, they are giving the software away for free with the keyboard so why all this security? Then, when you finally get the software unlocked it is so crippled that it's hardly worth using. There's a lot of much better free software out there which doesn't require so much effort to get up and running (try Computer Music website for starters). Nice little keyboard, shame about the free software.

I bought this keyboard to use with my Toontrack drum software, since my main, full size keyboard is not ideal for drums as it's weighted and thus more suited to piano playing. The microKey worked straight out the box, though I did later download the driver for it from the Korg site as this was recommended in the manual, not that I've seen any difference so far. Also from Korg you can download the Korg Kontrol Editor which lets you save and load settings on the keyboard such as note ranges etc.The keyboard has a soft but firm feel and has the build quality you expect from Korg products. There are two up/down octave buttons, sustain and arpeggiator buttons and a joystick controller with X+Y movement mapping to keyboard pitch bend/modulation wheels.Recommended.

I wanted a high quality no-frills wireless MIDI keyboard to practice 'electric piano' on anywhere, using either Garageband or the bundled KORG Le 2 synth software. After a necessary firmware update to connect to iOS13 via Bluetooth I've found it perfect - connects to all of my Apple devices straight away without issue, no latency I can detect and the 2x AA batteries have lasted a good while so far.I'm also using it with (separate purchase) of Simply Piano iPad app where it connects directly via MIDI rather than listening via the iPad microphone.I like that it's so portable & light but still sturdy, though if using it in one fixed place the cheaper wired version would be just as good & another octave from the longer keyboard could be useful.

I needed something to demo some tracks for a new band project. Got zero space for gear at home so I am tracking everything with soft synths in Reaper. I needed something compact, cheap and not rubbish. This little beast is just perfect for playing in basslines and hammond licks, chords etc... The keys feel nice and the action is responsive. The octave keys light up system is simple and intuitive. The size is perfect , I can lay it across my laptop trackpad area (I use a usb mouse) and with some headphones on and some tasty Kontakt libraries I have a studio on my coffee table. It would be worth the money just for the keyboard but it also comes with some great free plugins,Lite versions of Lounge Lizzard and EZ drummer etc... Just so cool!

What an excellent product. If you dabble with garageband or other music creation programmes on your mac/PC this little fella is excellent. You quickly get used to pressing the "octave button" (which takes you up or down the scales) and the action, while never going to match a huge expensive keyboard, is fine for this portable little number. I like the pitch change toggle, too, (interesting effect if you toggle during a synth chord) Only one quibble: the bluetooth works fine on my MacBook pro, but not on my Ipad pro (4th gen) I haven't worked that one out yet, but I use a connecting cable and it works fine with that. There can be a little latency on the bluetooth, but not enough to cause problems.Value for money? Absolutely.

I'm a guitarist and needed something compact but simple to add the odd synth or piano sound to my recordings, Having looked carefully at the competition I opted for this based on other reviews and the negative comments applied to other similar keyboards. For casual use the device does not disappoint. Plugged in via USB and was recognized in Windows instantly. Recocognized also by the Cakewalk software I use. The additional freeware is also extremely useful. Key touch and feel is very good indeed. It has enough controls for my use, but I suspect too few for users where the keyboard is the sole input.Small, compact, and very good build quality. All in all, well worth the money.

Seems useful so far..BUT!!!!!The software package downloads..seamless for ipad ...HOWEVER...NIGHTMARE regarding endless license key input etc for Win OS downloads..set up account, register on website etc etc..then told that the activation id is already used!!! This is with propellorhead. the Korg LE...registered on Korg Website, but email address not recognised when trying to get code through interminable layers of what I suppose would be termed security..but really just a ploy to get my details.Garage band works fine..but you cant play the smart instrument chords.e.g. smart guitar..you can play the strings but you cant use a key to activate/play the displayed chords.

Pros:Well built, feels solidFor the size, very nice keys with deep travelJoystick allows simultaneous mod + pitch bend for cool funky effectsIn arpeggiator mode, pressing the joystick gives a latch; the y-asis controls the arpeggiator gate, and the y-axis the scale direction. So you can latch a chord and wiggle the joystick for some very nice effectsEasy to configure through free Korg Editor software, can assign cc values to joystick, can change velocity curves and arp defaultsCons:Arp can be up or down, can change octacve amount, but no random or custom modesNo sustain pedal jackNo controllers other than joystick and sustain button

Great little two octave keyboard which fits nicely on my computer desk between the computer screen and my computer keyboard. Very sturdy and heavier than I thought it would be and feels well made. I use it for input to MuseScore, Reaper and software synths such as the Korg M1. The octave up and down buttons increase the note range but I haven't found much use for the joystick or the arpeggiator. I'm not sure what use they are apart from being fun to play with. Some people may find them useful.I have a larger five octave keyboard and although the keys on the microKEY are smaller I found it easy to play.
