These straighten rather well, perhaps a bit more static then from my previous pair (also Remmington) but with heat defense spray before and a light hair mousse after, it’s not too much worry. The cable is 1.8m, I didn’t see this anywhere in the description and really would have preffered a longer cable, but it does swivel which is handy. Nice and slim and light; I have shirt hair with a long fringe so that’s ideal. I feel like the outer casing along the plates gets significantly hotter than my old pair, which also had a little bit on the end that didnt get hot so you could hold to keep the plates together, this pair has no such thing and I would heavily suggest not trying to hold the plastic casing along the plates together as you will get burned.

Where, oh where have I been?! This is the best straightener in the world! Sod GHD’s! This straightened my extremely thick (and I mean extremely!) very long hair (to the small of my back now) in less than 10 minutes! And I didn’t need it near the full heat. Just middle heat! Poker straight. (Apart from the bits I’m still learning properly)I have GHD’s professional ones. Cost the earth. They were heavy, unwieldy and difficult to use. And I was never quite satisfied. Partly my fault for not keeping at it. PArtly because I was so scared I be burned, they got so hot. And yes, they did burn my hair. And only one heat setting. These Remington’s did not burn it. (Tho I confess to using tons of heat protect-more than usual!

I had owned my pair of GHDs for 8 years since my 16th birthday, I was gutted when they stopped working so I looked at the GHD website to get a new pair and I thought they would of updated their products within that time but they are still selling similar models to my old pair for the same price (around £90-150), I did some research online to see if there were cheaper alternatives because technology must of improved by then and I was a bit tight for money at the time, I found that these straighteners had loads of good reviews and others were comparing them to GHDs, I was a bit skeptical but thought I would give them a go and I'm so impressed!

These hair straighteners serve their purpose very well and I am pleasantly surprised at how much I like them! They straighten my hair quickly and effectively, heating upto 230 degrees. The plates are very smooth and glide through my hair very easily without tugging. Once I have completed straightening my hair, the finished result tends to last all day whereas even with my previous straighteners (which were GHD), I didn't experience such long lasting results. These straighteners are at such an affordable price that once my GHD's broke, I needed to replace them very quickly so bought these with primer delivery just as a temporary fix.

I wanted an affordable hair straightener as this is the first time I have used straighteners on my very thick wavy frizzy hair. I have a Remington hair dryer which has lasted for over 10 years so I trust the brand.I am delighted and astounded at the results. They are very very hot even on a low setting and I only need to run the hair through twice to produce poker straight strands. The most amazing thing for me is how my hair remains straight,, reducing how often I need to wash it, and maintaining a gloss enhanced by using Argan oil for condition and shine. (I use pure Argan oil rather than the silicone-laced Moroccan oil). Although I do use Moroccan deep conditioner mask.They are easy to use,

I had my GHDs for 12 years! And they finally failed on me. I wanted to buy some wide plate straighteners but they were out of stock so I reluctantly went for these not expecting much (I bought them from the high street as I needed them the same day). But they are AMAZING. I'm very low maintenance with my hair (even though I spend a small fortune on treatments, colouring etc) and these leave my hair straight and SOFT for days. With GHDs if I straightened at night my hair would be back to its coarse, kinky self by morning but I haven't had it with these. Granted my GHDs were an antique but these are better than what I've had at salons and I'd highly recommend them. Don't be put off by the brand or price,

This is the first set of straighteners I've bought, and I was a bit nervous at first. But they're nice and lightweight, with floating plates, so they do fit together easily without a gap. They don't snag on my hair, and seem to work pretty much with the first pass. They take about 20 secs to heat up - and I'm very happy that the temperature control is via a dial, so you can get any temperature between 150 - 230. As my hair is colour treated and rather fine and brittle, I don't go above 190, and it still works. The only slight thing is that there's an odd burning smell when I switch it on, but that could be simply because it's new - it seems to be fading away now I've used it a few times. Overall,

Absolutely love this. I’ve been using a straightener which had slowly become rubbish for years and pulled on my hair when straightening it so to FINALLY have a new one which felt like a dream to straighten my hair is just... yaaaaaaaaas. It’s lightweight, design is fab, comes with a pouch and I love the locking mechanism it has (you can lock the straightener shut). It’s really helpful to have the temperature control as I have fine hair. The cord is really long as well which is a bonus as I tend to straighten my hair standing up but storing it because of the cord is a tad annoying. This being delivered to me was quick (ordered Monday came on Wednessday). Overall I highly recommend this.

Bought these for an upcoming trip to the USA. I currently have the old style GHD's which aren't dual voltage, so I needed some cheap straighteners which would work in the states. These Remington ones are great! They are super lightweight (compared to my GHD's anyway) and they straighten my curly hair probably BETTER than my ghds. They also heat up SO fast.Only negatives I can think of are that they seem kinda cheaply made (who cares for £16!) and that when you squeeze the plates together, they meet at the top but not at the bottom if that makes sense (maybe I just got a dodgy pair). They only completely meet if you squeeze them together hard.

Firstly, the price is amazing. Secondly, these straighteners really work well, they glide through the hair effortlessly and actually smooth the hair so well that your hair looks flawless. Thirdly, these put GHD’s to shame as they are light, easy to use, smooth better and never have any problems with them. Overall, I love these for my own hair and my clients hair. My clients have also noticed how the finish of their hair is far better than when they use (or when I have used) GHDS and/or other brands. 100% recommended and will only use these from now on.***Ignore comments below saying that these ‘frazzle/break/snap’ people’s hair off as they don’t at all.

I have had these straighteners for a year now and they still work as good as the day I got them! My hair stays straight for 2 days and I know I don't sleep lightly! The straighteners I had before these (also Remington) constantly pulled out my hair and it went wavy again after about 2 hours, so these ones are a dream for me! The cord can twist making it easier for left handed people and straightening the other side of your hair/fringe. Usually on straighteners, the cord digs into my arm/wrist because they are designed for right handed people. The cord itself is at an average length, it could be a bit longer but it's long enough to reach the mirror. All in all,

My popular high priced ???Hair Day Straightener gave up after 8 years of constant use. I decided to try these as they had good write ups although low priced compared to some makes. I would give them the absolute 5 stars. They heat up quick, they have a temp setting, they go up to 235 degrees (if required) and are so easy to use. They are anti static and the plates are just the right size They heat up very quick, have a blue led light which instead of being underneath between the plates is at the side so you will never forget to switch them off however they also have an auto cut out after 60 mins should you leave them on. I am very impressed and would recommend! You do not need to spend a fortune on certain makes!

I bought these straighteners last week having read the reviews on Amazon with high hopes and I wasnt disappointed. They are ultra hot and work like a dream. I only need the heat dial turned up half way to achieve perfect straight locks and my hair is ultra thick. I have turned them up to the hotest setting and they are a bit too hot for my hair. I'm so impressed with these and at £20 Im going to order another pair for my work overnight bag to save me packing and unpacking each time I go away, which is normally two nights a week. Ive owned other products which have cost far more and have either gone wrong or werent hot enough - the results were nowhere near as good as these Remington ones.

I bought these as my previous straighteners had stopped working, despite the fact that they were far more expensive than these ones. In my opinion these are even better than the ones that I had before. I only use these on the minimum setting but they are very effective and I don't need to use them every day as the straightening effect lasts. They heat up quickly and it's easy to tell when they are at your preferred temperature because the light stops flashing. Another advantage is that you can turn them off without risking a burn off the plates, which wasn't the case with my previous ones! If you want hair straighteners then these are well worth trying.

I would 100% recommend these straighters for a few reasons:1) They are extremely compact – the locking mechanism is fantastic, and you don’t even have to wait for them to cool down before you lock them and put them in to the heat proof pouch. The heat proof pouch is brilliant – allowing you to wrap your wire up and fastening it to keep it from getting tangled and easier to store.2) They are extremely HOT and are very fast to warm up!3) You can curl your hair with them without any problems what so ever.5) They are reliable, and show you when they are ready to use.6) You don’t catch your finger on the heat dial or the on/off switch.7) They are great to look at and great price!
