I have a number of different sized boxes from the "Reallly Useful" brand - I find the quality to be excellent, and unlike some similar brands that \I have tried, the lid clips grip firmly with the Really Useful boxes.I found the description listed for this item on Amazon very slightly confusing for a few moments, It says "Perfect for filing A4 paper - designed for foolscap suspension files "This is simply a box for foolscap sized suspension files, and as A4 papers are slightly smaller than foolscap , they will of course fit.It seems to me from some of the questions and answers, and some reviews that people are somewhat confused. The box came as advertised with 10 foolscap suspension files (theA4 sized box does not - although Really Useful do make both sizes of suspension files). There were no index tabs included, but they were not listed in the description so I had not expected to find those - I had already ordered them separately, together with some additional suspension files.I am not sure what else to say. All the Really Useful boxes I have are strong, not at all flimsy, they stack well, the plastic does not appear brittle, and they have been perfect for my needs.Note that they are not air-tight (and not meant to be), if storing things in a garage for example, contents could become damp if you do not wrap them. They are simply the best brand I have found for this style of box.NOTE TO POTENTIAL NEW BUYERS: Be sure that you know what you are actually buying - it is clear from some questions and reviews that some people are not clear. This box is designed to hold "Foolscap" sized suspension files. There are other boxes that will hold "A4" size suspension files (slightly wider but shorter than foolscap). A4 documents will usually fit into either size of suspension file.An A4 document is : 210 mm x 297 mm (8.3 in x 11.7 in); A Foolscap document is : 203 mm x 330 mm ( 8.0 in x 13.0 in).The box for Foolscap suspension files is 24L and the box for A4 suspension files is 19L and this Foolscap box is around 2 inches longer than the A4 box.

I like the robust, stackable design and clear plastic, which allows me to see the contents and chose the smaller, 24 Litre, foolscap suspension model because I wanted boxes that I could easily stash away in the corner of a room or under a table and which I could also carry to a convenient location when using them or to a car for transport, for example. The box came with 10 Really Useful Box foolscap size suspension files, which are good quality although you may want more than this. When they are empty, there is actually room for 30 of these files in the 24 Litre box so, depending on what you want to put in them, let’s say 20 working files. However, before you order more, you might like to consider the slimmer ELBA Verticfile Ultimates, which are excellent quality and pack a maximum of 44, empty files in the space available. I also ordered a box of filertek Dry Erase Hanging File Tabs, which work perfectly and are a huge improvement over those fiddly conventional tabs that are prone to falling off. This last point helps if you want to make the most of the system because the stability of the hanging files is impressive. The files can only be dislodged when they are not lying perpendicularly between the runners and this only happens when there is enough free space to allow them to lie skew. The solution is to keep the box is relatively full or to use something else to fill the available space in which case the files are even secure when the box is upside down!

My documents were outgrowing my accordion file and I really wanted a sturdy, lightweight solution that would hold everything I needed. I spent a long time searching through various metal hanging files before finding this box - and it's the perfect one for my needs! It's light enough to lift, narrow enough to store in the gap between my desk and the wall, deep enough to hold all of my documents with plenty of extra space, and it's clear - so I can always see what's inside and look for the items I need before even opening the lid.The handles double as lid clasps to hold it down, and they lock sturdily into place. Even when filled with papers and clamped, it's easy to lift the whole box.The lid is solid and the textured base adds extra structure. The whole box feels unexpectedly strong. My box came with orange A4-sized hanging file folders that have solid black plastic hooks. They didn't come with plastic tabs for labelling, which might be a nice addition. I went to a brick-and-mortar store and bought some colour-coded folders with plastic labelling tabs, but I also use a few of the ones that came with the box, and have temporarily labelled them using small Post-It notes.I'm very pleased with this box so far, and when I eventually outgrow it, I look forward to purchasing another because they are conveniently stackable!

I have been on a quest to finally sort out our home papers and had been looking for ideas all over the internet for the best possible solution to the problem. Enter suspension files. But my tiny study is a squash and a squeeze and I couldn't possibly fit a proper filing cabinet in there. This Really Useful Filing Box is the perfect solution. A sturdy, neat box which comes inclusive of 10 suspension files to get you started. I read a few reviews and bought the angled Post-it file tabs (24 pack) along with the box file. I am so pleased to say that already I am well on my way to a much more organized home filing system. The files glide easily enough inside the box and together with the tabs,I can alphabetically arrange everything in there. There is still a way to go and I have very quickly run out of the suspension files. So I have ordered another pack of A4 suspension files along with manilla dividers to keep everything in its proper place. It's amazing how something so apparently boring like filing papers can feel exciting if you've got the right tools at hand. Even my husband is getting into the organizing spirit, haha. Don't hesitate, go buy this box but DO get a pack of those sticky file labels and a Sharpie marker to name your files. For more ideas, scan Pinterest. I'll definitely be ordering more!

I have recently organised my corner cupboard with another Amazon purchase, the vegetable baskets, and the cupboard was still not quite finished so purchased 2 really useful boxes.Really useful boxes are the best sturdy storage box offered on the market and the best clip lid design compared to any other. The storage capacity on these particular boxes are fantastic as was able to use most of the air space without a landmind happening inside my cupboard without items stored inside the box.Even with the product being heavy duty plastic, this doesn't compromise being able to move the box about. One of my boxes has my baking supplies in and I was still able to manove and slide to the back corner on the bottom shelf with ease. The other has kids water bottles in so quite light, but my husband has used some to store comics in and I'm able to manove them about.I have used them on the bottom shelf as I didn't want to waste the space in anyway and was fed up with everything stacked ontop on each other and this was the best way to maximise the space without losing to much of it.I was happy before just having a sort out, but these boxes have completed and organised the cupboard and works better once I rejigged to flow better with what I use the most daily

The 35 litre Really Useful Box filing box (RUB) takes A4 suspension files in one direction or Foolscap suspension files in the other direction. This means that there's an integral "lip" for suspension file "hooks" to glide along on ALL FOUR interior sides - that's clever thoughtful design.I bought three in three separate orders, "Style Name: 35 Litre + 10 Suspension Files | Customer Package Type: Standard Packaging". But beware: all 10 Suspension Files that were supplied were A4 only, luckily I already owned the Foolscap ones that I needed. (I recommend Esselte suspension files for a wide range of colours and sizes plus Esselte sell extra-wide [9cm] file label tags - buy on Amazon UK).You can buy matching orange Really Useful Box suspension files in Foolscap size on Amazon UK; you can also buy more A4 Really Useful Box suspension files separately on Amazon UK without having to buy another RUB. The Suspension Files do NOT come with file label tags. Each RUB arrived in a sturdy box, inside an Amazon box (you know how sturdy those are). The inner box is sturdy enough and without markings that it'd make a good storage box on its own. However, one RUB arrived with its lid damaged - a piece had broken off in transit.

The files that came with this were orange in colour rather than the green pictured. I purchased an additional 10 files to ensure I had enough categories. You'll also need to buy durable plastic labels as there are no plastic inserts on these. It was time to get the home paperwork organised and I must admit that setting up this home filing system definitely encourages me to keep things in order and deal with paper I've been putting off for ages - it's the best system I've tried so far as I haven't managed to keep up with any other system I've tried in the past. If you recycle envelopes and unwanted flyers straight away, and file the necessary pages accordingly in this box (perhaps then recycling older statements for example every time you get a new one),it can save time at home and make you realise what needs reviewing - e.g. are your savings accounts at the best rate they can be/ how are your pensions performing/what rates are you paying for your utilities so you can spend your time making your accounts work for you rather than spend your time looking through files of paper for one bit of info and panicking when you can't find it.

It feels a bit strange gushing about a plastic box, but this has actually proven to be a great purchase. We had been using an expanding cardboard wallet for our household filing, but it was bulging at the seams and not really fit for purpose so wanted something more solid. I was originally looking at a metal filing box, and knew I wanted the extra space of foolscap over A4, but was put off by some of the reviews. Then I stumbled upon this 'Really Useful Box' which by some happy coincidence fits perfectly in the bottom of our wardrobe, and the fact that it has guide rails for foolscap drop files (and comes with 10x suspension files) just seems ideal. It is nice and sturdy, the handles latch the lid down securely, and it is stackable if we purchase more.I don't regret not buying a metal box, because this does what I need. Granted it isn't lockable, but then I didn't really require it.It does feel a teensy bit pricey at £18.25 (at time of review), but I shan't complain as I am delighted with the product. I will happily recommend them.

First things first - I bought this myself - I hate positive reviews that turn out to be a freebie to the reviewer.New Years resolution to finally sort out my personal paperwork. I realised a filing cabinet would be useful but don’t have room to store one. Then saw this great product which ticked so many more boxes - no pun intended. As advertised this clever box is like a portable filing cabinet. It comes with 10 suspension files - lovely quality and colour - and that number is about right for the size of the box when they are filled with papers. I like the portability of this which means that I can work wherever is convenient and then store it away when finished.I’ve put paper tabs on to identify what is in each hanging file and it is making filing documents away a doddle - nb free tabs with the files would have been appreciated. The suspension files move easily on the plastic runners and as others noted the box seems very robust. Very happy to finally find an easy to use, accessible solution to keeping my paperwork in order.

This is the second one of these boxes that I have bought and the review remains very much the same:These stand head and shoulders above the rest because they have peices of plastic running up all the sides which provide extra support which other storages boxes often don't have. To give you an idea of how strong they are - I have been able to use a hole cutter drill to cut 70mm holes all the way around it without it being compromised. The handles are sturdy and seal very well, however my one grip is that they stick out above the lid of the box slightly so that it's difficult to lay anything equally sized or bigger on top.Other people have reported these boxes turning up broken but I have ordered two, both have been absolutely fine and since my first purchase the seller has added "fragile" labels to the box to make sure it is treated properly which is just as well because while they are sturdy, they are probably quite brittle to shock damage (as would any other plastic storage box).8/10

When you call something a “Really Useful Box”, it better live up to its name. I’m pleased to say this particular 24L one does. It can take foolscap suspension files — indeed it comes with a few — but I use it to store cardboard foolscap document wallets, which form the crux of my paperwork administration system at home. These fit perfectly into the box.Of course you could use it store anything you like. I think 24L is a nice, general, all-purpose size. It’s a nicely constructed item with a lid that snaps into place firmly. I have nothing bad to say about this box and, on a personal note, I was particularly impressed that it fits perfectly into the cupboard on one of the pedestals of my desk. It’s as if someone popped in when I was out and measured it up just for me.We could do with more “Really Useful” products, like a really useful lawyer or a really useful reality TV star, although such things are probably beyond science.Great box, highly recommended.

So useful! I bought one to stack with an existing one. I use them for files. They stack perfectly and are made of nice clear plastic, tough enough to probably survive a nuclear apocalypse. They won't get dented like my old metal filing cabinet, and they can be transported as-is (no additional effort required) if we need to move. The top closes perfectly and not too tightly. (I hate things that close too tightly.) I have to make an effort to pinch my fingers when closing it. It has liter marks on the side in case you need to use it as a bucket, such as to collect water or cooking oil in the aforementioned nuclear apocalypse. It's sturdily constructed although a small, sharp piece of plastic fell off the most recent one when I pulled it out of its shipping box. That might have hurt if I stepped on it, but I didn't, thankfully. Also, am delighted to support UK manufacturing.

I'm back to buy another of these, they are a brilliant storage solution, better than box files and expanding files (which have their limits!). I've been using the first one for all my uni work, files for each module subdivided into a file for upcoming reading, a file for previous weeks reading, a file for essays and say on. In between each set of module files, I can slot my ring bound pukka pads for that module, making it easy to keep me organised at a glance (and lid still fits on, plenty of height!). Everything is kept neat, there is plenty of room to fit a years heavy reading (BA degree) and nothing gets crushed. The box is sturdy and stackable, plus the carry handles have been useful for moving it around.I'm now buying another one for my new business as I know it will be perfect for keeping track of all my paperwork hard copies and another one for organising me!

My wife was always complaining that my desk looked like Vesuvius, and on her threat of tidying it up (and me never finding anything again) I started to look for something that could contain the mess without being overly formal about it.I'm not a fan of letter trays, not only are they expensive, but I find that all I do is create a slightly more ordered pile in the corner of the desk.I have long been a fan of Really Useful Boxes, and have about 10 of them containing all sorts of odds and ends, so when I saw they did a box with files ... I thought I would give it a go.I ordered the box with Foolscap Suspension files as I wanted a bit more space, as I tend to club things together in folders,so there is space a plenty. It hasn't made me any more organised really, but the desk is tidier, my wife is happy, and no more threats to tidy up.

I needed a new personal file as my old one was not surprisingly falling apart after almost 20 years. I didn't want an expanding file (never enough room for all documents) bur was having difficulty finding a suspension file box. After having a good look on Amazon this Really Useful file box seemed to be the nearest thing to what I wanted. And I'm very pleased with my purchase. It's so sturdy I can't imagine ever having to replace it and there is plenty room inside for loads of suspension files. My order included 5 suspension files rather than the 10 advertised, and when I contacted the seller about this I was very quickly sent a pack of 50! Enough to replace old tatty files for a long, long time.I'd recommend this for storing household documents - great value for money.
