Compactor® Original Vacuum Storage Chest – XXL SizeI know there are various types of Vacuum Storage Products available, but I have never tried them until now. Storage is something that most of us are short of, and this Storage Case can certainly ease the problem and help to keep clothes/household linen/bedding etc neatly stored in as small a space as is possible.• The Compactor® is the brainchild of Giulio Epicureo who is the President of the CIE Group, which is based in Lille, France. The Company was founded in 1983 and in 2004, the Compactor® was developed and patented.• The Compactor® arrives neat and flat in a cellophane bag. There is an informative paper sleeve around it and User Instructions inside. The Instructions are written in French, English, Italian and Spanish.• Using the Compactor® is simple:-- Assemble the Chest by pulling up the side panels and aligning them.- Gently ease up the Compression Bag and using the Slider, open it up.- Fold the items you want to store, and pack them into the Compression Bag. Close and secure the Zip using the Slider.- Open the 1-Way Valve, put the hose of your Vacuum Cleaner into the Valve, and switch on. (You may have to hold the Vacuum Hose against the Valve, rather than push it in. It depends on the size of your Vacuum.)- Once all the air has been sucked out and the items compressed, turn off the Vacuum. Close and adjust the retainer belts to secure the compression, zip up the Chest and there you have it ready to store.• There are strong webbing Handles on each end of the Chest making it easy to lift and carry.• You can see what you have stored inside through the two windows at the front of the Chest.• This is the XXL Size and measures 25 inches Wide (left to right) x 19 inches Deep (front to back) x 10½ inches High (base to top) The Volume capacity is 210 ltr.The only criticism I have of this Compactor® is that like most Slider type plastic ‘zips’ the Slider does tend to come off. It is a nuisance but it can be put back on. In addition, another niggle is that the Cap on the Valve is very stiff to remove, it is not easy to grip on to.At time of writing this Review the RRP is £21.09, which I consider to be a little on the expensive side. I am deducting 1 star because of the Slider, Valve Cap and the price.NOT - the photo shows the product with 2 x King Size Summer Duvets packed away.

I am not usually one to write reviews, but I felt the need to share a review for the with the Compactor RAN3066.Having in the past used the standard space saver bags, which although useful once you remove the air from the bags, the shape of them make it a bit tricky to store, especially if you use a number of them as you cant neatly stack them on top of each other. The comparator case which I purchased from Amazon arrived in good time and as usual were well packaged. If its the first time you are using a space saver type item, rest assured you cannot really go wrong with what to do, as the instructions are easy to follow. The case seems to be of good durable material. The best bit for me was definitely the amount of stuff you can place in them; to give you an idea I placed; 2 large Double Bed winter Bedspreads (so nice and thick) ; 3 double bed sets; (4 pillow cases and duvet cover to each set) a standard pillow and two single bed covers and pillow cases!I would suggest that you run your fingers across the closing to ensure that its properly closed and shape the bag as you vacuum the air to the shape of the box.The handles are well placed so that you can easily pick it up and they don't tear either. One thing to be aware of is that your vacuum cleaner can overheat whilst performing the suction, mine automatically shuts off and then you cant turn it back on for half an hour which is a bit of a pain when you want to finish the job, I would suggest to switch it off every few minutes, you don't have to wait to restart it as it does the trick! Inside the case there are also straps to place over the vacuumed items, I assume the are to keep it in shape. The case can then be stored in most cupboards or even under the bed (depending on the hight of your bed of course) you can even store them on top of each other. As I have only just used it a week ago I cant comment on the length of time the vacuum will last but so far so good! I realise that they are a little more pricey that the standard bags but in my opinion, they are worth it as they are easier to use, stack and you will save in the volume of other space saver items you would normally need because of the amount items you can get into the case!

I needed a good way to store extra bedding and Duvets can be especially space consuming and difficult to fold, etc., so I thought i'd try this compactor vacuum storage to keep it all neat and tidy. I have never used one that connects to a vacuum cleaner before but the principle is the same as the manual type- this one is particularly well made and neat, as it is within a cloth type of outer case, with the plastic vacuum bag attached inside.Simply open the bag and fold whatever it is that you are storing. It is best to make it as near to the shape of the outer case as possible to ensure an even final package. I managed to get a winter double duvet, a sheepskin mattress cover, some bedding and other items into the bag. It looked over twice the size of the outer bag, but fitted well within the plastic vacuum interior bag. I fastened the bag as instructed, using the plastic slide clip, then attached the hose from my vacuum cleaner. I have a Zanussi Airspeed Lite vacuum and the hose was a perfect fit. Pretty standard size really... but one reviewer here has suggested the inside tube of a toilet roll can make a fine adaptor, and I would agree with this if your vacuum cleaner is not as standard. Once the vacuum cleaner is switched on, you can see the bag and contents shrink in size, and mine fitted easily inside the bag. In fact, I could have put even more inside !!My extra bedding is now neatly stored away and an extra bonus of course is that it is dust free and well contained until use.I like this product, and it has performed as advertised. Good quality too, so I would recommend this one if you are trying to decide which to buy.

So I have previous experience in vacuum bags that eventually lost their air, this would take a few months but over time this got worse and worse. Therefore I wanted to invest in a new compactor that I could use for pillows, curtains, duvets, blankets and clothes. This definitely works, and allows the storage of A LOT of items, and if packed properly can even double up as a small soft sit. When vacuuming a large number of items I would definitely recommend doing this with another person. It is possible by yourself but the shape may not turn up as a rectangle and therefore you will not be able to seal the zips. The inside vacuum bag is a normal vacuum bag that is attached at the bottom and extends out of the bag.So when vacuuming the items 2 people are needed to squeeze from all sides so that the clothes/linen/bedding is squashed to the size of the bag.You might be thinking, if there is a normal vacuum bag why is this then better than any other bag? Well this bag is overall better quality. The hole where the air is sucked out has a much better/higher quality rubber pressure/vacuum nozzle, preventing air from slowly getting back in. Therefore this bag keeps the air out for much longer - it has been 4 months so far and it is still perfect.Overall great quality, does the job, but can be awkward when putting in a lot of stuff (2 duvets, 4 pillows, 3 blankets) and when doing this you'll need 2 people to squash it to the right shape while sucking out air. I have already bought 3 of these bags and will definitely buy more if needed and for family. Definitely recommended.

Having read reviews of cheaper products I decided to spend a bit more to get this one.Overall the product appears very good. In particular the inner airtight bag is made of much stronger plastic than others I have seen, which are incredibly flimsy. You'd still want to treat it with a bit of respect - but with the outer bag to protect it, there is little to worry about. It's got a good capacity. One key point is that you can't seal it if it's over-full. So the fact that it starts off so big before compressing shows the designers have thought about this. (Whereas cheaper ones don't seem to take that into account.) I got in two thick double duvets - carefully folded - and two pillows easily. But with one more pillow I couldn't seal it.I've only just loaded it, so don't know if it will gradually expand as some seem to - but even if that does happen, the internal straps should help keep it under control. My only criticism is it was not easy to suck the air out with my Dyson. The blurb claims it is compatible with all vacuum cleaners on the market. This is simply not true. The valve is much smaller than the Dyson hose, and the hose could not form a seal around it. I managed to improvise an adapter by cutting the top off a plastic Evian bottle and using some duck tape. Obviously not ideal, but I preferred not to return the product (which shows I am still pretty satisfied). With my DIY connector, the air was sucked out in just a couple of minutes. Then easy to do up the straps and zip - and job done!

Wow, wow and just wow! We've got 3 or 4 regular duvet/pillow storage bags in the loft (for the winter duvets and duvets for sleeper couch/ guest bedrooms etc) and it's always a pain to bring them down through the loft hatch as they are so big and unwieldy. Some have caught on the loft ladder and ended up being torn. I was therefore interested to see if this space saving alternative would work. The Compactor Vacuum Storage Case comes in various sizes and I got the XXL which takes 2 double duvets and a single duvet. I was a bit dubious at first as it looked quite small. It's simple to set up - unzip the lid, fold out the plastic ziplock bag, open it and place in your bedding.I put in 2 double duvets and 3 cushions. Close the ziplock (ensuring that there are no folds/creases at the ends where air can get in). Switch on your vacuum and apply to the suction valve and watch the bag slowly deflate until it fits into the fabric case. Then apply the strap (so the bedding doesn't overexpand if any air gets back in), zip up the cover and you're done. The construction of the bag is really good - the sides and bottom are reinforced and it has sturdy handles on the side. The valve works well and didn't overstrain my vacuum. Once the bag is zipped up and ready to put into the loft it is so much more easy to handle than a regular bulky bag. The only thing to watch for is to ensure a perfect seal. This is going to make my life so much easier! 5 stars!

I have now purchased 4 of these little beauties (this one being the largest). They really do do what they say. duvets, pillows etc go in and are reduced to neat little boxes which stacks neatly on top of each other. there is an inner 'harness' which clips together on the top when the air has been sucked out (its a bit like some suit cases which have these to stop your clothes from dropping to one end etc). The zip closure is pretty sturdy and haven't had or found any problems with any of mine. Yes they are more expensive than the average vac bags out there, but really - give these ago. U will not look back. i must have spent probably the same amount over time on bags that claim they are great, but after only a short period of time are soft, with the items inside fluffing up nicely. Also they vac into strange shapes (you really need two people - one to hold the nozzle and one to push down and shape). With the compactor range because it has to stay within the confines of a box (it is attached at the bottom of the bag to the outer box), it kind of just reduces down naturally and only slight pressure needed from you to help it along. After a year my items contained within my original boxes are still compacted! Just to say - I have bought all of these items at full price and HAVE NOT received any item reduced in order for me to write an 'unbiased' review.

Like many, to save money, I've thrown my hard-earned cash at those cheap compression bags. But, in my experience, you get what you pay for, and I've been unimpressed with them - they are usually poorly constructed, and (if they work properly) don't last long. Oh well, we live and learn...These, on the other hand, are the mutts nuts - meaning they're well made, easy to use, and should last you many years. In other words, for shelling out that extra bit of cash, you'll get something that'll work out more economical, and provide less hassle in the long term. Remember, this 'Compactor' bag has been manufactured by the French company who actually developed and patented the World's first vacuum storage system back in 2004.These really are straight forward to use,but if you're new to compactor bags don't worry - because clear instructions are provided. Once you have finished compressing your clothing, duvet, linens etc, the bag's inside belts can be tightened to further hold it in its compressed state, and then it can be securely zipped up and tidily stacked away. The strong nylon handles on either side make the process of lifting and storing them on high shelves etc much easier. My wife and I have been most impressed by this product - and it's one which I can unreservedly recommend.

This product is simple to use, yet effective.Unzip the smart cloth outer to find a large clear plastic bag. I easily fitted two large quilts and two pillows - it would have taken more.To compact, seal the plastic bag (this is a simple 'press to seal' strip. A small plastic tool is provided to zip along the seal and ensure it is closed all the way - you will know if it is, as soon as you start compacting. Then just fit the nozzle of your vacuum cleaner to the valve on the bag and suck. The bag and its contents compress down to a tiny fraction of their normal size. After compacting, you need to listen to make sure there is no air whistling back in (due to incomplete seal). If so,re-seal and repeat. There is a belt and buckle inside to put around the compressed plastic bag and contents. I wondered why this was necessary, but I have noticed that, over a few weeks, the seal on the inner bag is not totally airtight, so the contents will expand again - but the belt helps keep this under control. The outer bag zips up and it's all neat and tidy. Note: the bag is 27cm (11") deep when filled, so you would need a high bed if you wanted to tuck it under. But the bag would go happily on top of a wardrobe or wherever you like, until it's needed.

I stored two double duvets and three sets of bedclothes in this storage case, which as pictured was very successful and compacted everything into about 1/3rd of the space. It was easy to use: Just unpack, open the sealed plastic compartment inside, fill with bedding, zip back up and use a vacuum to extract air through the valve on the outside. The only thing that I think could be improved is that it is difficult to get a secure connection between the valve and the vacuum. If an air-tight rubber ring surrounded the valve area, the vacuum could make contact with this and it would likely reduce the vacuuming time by a third or more, but instead I did have to apply a lot of pressure to keep the vacuum as flush to the valve as possible, which still left gaps which reduced suction power.Apart from that, there is nothing else to improve. It is sturdy on the outside and feels like it is constructed to a high standard. The price is a little high for just one storage case - maybe £30 for two of these would be more reasonable, or £15 for one, but I will gladly purchase another if I desperately need some extra space.

Took ages to come so deducting one star or it would have got 5. Come on Amazon it was a long time in arriving!!??Well packaged tho when it did and very good condition. I would buy again but know it takes an age to come. i do need to get another at some stage. The sucking with the vacuum was interesting as the nozzle dont fit over the hole so you have to hold it there for the air to suck out of the bag which is not easy. But eventually it did and all was well. Two double duvets well and truly squished! What a difference these bags make in storage of duvets well worth the extra money for a good quality one tho and this is it.There is one thing tho the white plastic strip that was meant to be with the bag was missing it slides along the two sheets to join up and close the bag before you start vacuumm cleaner on it to suck air out so i had to pinch it along with my fingers which took ages and ages so was disappointed with that. Apart from that would recommend and very happy. Thanks.

I ordered two of these to store bedding and towels etc in my caravan to keep it damp free for the winter. They are so easy to use - the outer case makes all the difference as you know the final shape and dimensions of the finished package instead of those without it which end up in random shapes! In the first one I put: 1 x single duvet, 2 x single sleeping bags, 3 x pillows, 5 x blankets and two complete sets of bedding. It filled the bag to the top and I just managed to zip it across (the white zipper is clipped inside the case and not attached so keep it safe). You then just undo the cap, put the hose of your vacuum over the top (ours is a Dyson though I would think that any would fit)and turn it on. Great fun! Once all the air is out, secure the bag with the straps inside the case and zip it up. So quick and easy and so much storage space saved. I am just about to order two more for home for spare bedding and summer clothes. Just wish I had discovered these years ago!

I have used several generations of plastic storage bags (with suction) and know from experience that they greatly assist when it comes to storage of bulky items. I also know that I should not use them on my goose down duvets because it could damage the feathers, but I have and do because the storage space saved is important. This bag is a great update on the design of the plastic vacuum bags because it is essentially a bag within a bag. You place your items inside the inner plastic bag, seal and suck the air out, then zip up the outer for convenient storage and less potential for that inner bag to be perforated and suddenly spring back to full size. The fabric of the outer bag and the plastic of the inner could both be thicker, but appear to be up to the job. Only time will tell how long that continues to be the case, but it looks and feels made to last and I will update should either fabric, plastic or seal fail before time.

I was sceptical about how much smaller this could actually make things but am amazed. It’s pretty easy to use, just like a massive ziplock bag and instructions are clear. I was hoping my cordless handheld Dyson would work but the nozzle was the wrong size. Luckily it worked ok with my larger Dyson.Only takes a few minutes to suck all the air out and it’s cool watching it deflate. Once the bag is zipped up it’s a bit of a heavy brick to drag around but has a handy handle on the end to help. One thing I hadn’t thought of was that once it’s compacted there is absolutely no wiggle room for getting it into tight spaces. If it doesn’t fit, it doesn’t fit.I had to undo it and take a couple of things out to make a smaller brick to fit in the cupboard opening. Amazing and simple though - would like to get more in smaller sizes. Also nice to feel that everything is protected, would be happy using for storing clothes.

This is the first storage bag I gave found that comfortably takes a king size duvet AND pillowcases together, usually I need a separate bag for each. The bag comes neatly packaged and its fairly straightforward to use. The size and shape means it stacks neatly on a shelf unlike my other bags, so that's a real bonus. The downside is the same issue with many other storage bags. The first time you use it, its a definite 5 stars- very neat and tidy. My Dyson hose was too big but I also have a Shark and the hose fits much better. The items stayed packed neatly and didn't expand. But I found on the second use it was much harder to seal and if its not 100% it will of course leak.So I would say this is a great product for items you may need to store and will not often need to use as it does seem to expand more with each use.In all, better for storing and stacking than regular storage bags but a little pricey.
