Those characteristically tiny bubbles promise an unsurpassed greatness in this price range. Contrast, by way of example, the more acidic and larger bubbled Lanson, Mumm or any Heidsick - if you're in any doubt as to why this is one of the greatest NV, and all doubts will be instantly removed.After all, the single greatest Englishman who ever lived, the genius who was Winston Churchill, always returned to this champagne and, needless to say, too right he was.When I win the lottery, this will be my 'goto champagne'; but until then, I can only reminisce, hence this review is, rarely for me, only from memory. Nevertheless, if you can afford it, don't settle for less. Which is to say,

The Champagnes itself is reliably excellent obviously but I ordered this one because it is meant to come with the box pictured (I assume it Sian because otherwise there wouldn’t be any point in showing the box!). It was meant as a gift so the box was kind important. Anyway, it came in a brown cardboard box without the presentation box. Pretty disappointing. I had bought one in store for the same price a few days beforehand with this nice box, so really expected the box pictured to come with this item. I realise this is the epitome of ‘first world problems’... but still. The image is misleading. It shouldn’t be pictured with the nice box if it doesn’t come with it.

I used to think, having tried Moet, Bollinger and other cheaper alternatives, that all champagnes and sparkling wines are equal . But having tried this for the first time last year, and then trying Bollinger after, I was clearly wrong. This is crisp, refreshing, yet wonderfully tasty. Worth every penny and now every celebration, (admittedly some are concocted as an excuse) contains a bottle of Pol Roger.Highly recommended, and don't trust a bad review because of the lack of a box, you're supposed to drink it.

Pol Roger is a great champagne - this is their non vintage one, you can also try their vintage and cuvée Winston Churchill along with the usual rose variants. The NV easily offers the best value for money - it's a beautiful champagne, crisp and fresh. Anywhere close to £35 is a good offer - so this is not a cheap drink. It will always be well received at any special occasion.

The item was not for myself , ordered it for my son and his wife. It arrived at a perfect time. They opened it straight away and said it was really great. Thank you for delivering on the day promised.Would definitely use this company again.Many thanks

Excellent champagne. I notice that one reviewer describes it as bland - I don't know how, its a very "grown up" champagne and more complex in flavour than most other NV's. Biscuity, smooth, fruity, not too sweet, not too tart, not too fizzy. Perfect!

We love Pol Roger and this was such a great Black Friday deal, that I could'nt resist. The quality is much better than Moet, Lanson, etc. If I could afford it, I would drink by the bucket load. Try with fresh English strawberries - bliss

Was recommended this brand by a friend and honestly it's better than champagne at twice the price.Moet and Verve are nowhere near Pol Roger in terms of taste and overall qualityWould highly recommend

I bought this champagne as it was a favourite of winston Churchill and didn't disappoint it was delicious lots of bubbles came in a lovely box and tasted great a excellent champagne would buy again!!!

Probably my favourite champagne now. Always reasonably priced and so easy and pleasant to drink. Packaging is sufficient from amazon and haven't had any issues with the two I've ordered so far.

A gift for my dad who isn't a huge champagne drinker but appreciates a good bottle when one comes his way. This along with a bottle of Bollinger were both wonderfully received.

Most ratings on wine / champagne websites put this a close second to Bollinger, i'd say it's just as good. Knocks the Moet into the weeds (which is bottled in the same town).

Lovely champagne. My favourite apart from the Pol Roger vintage. Some reviews have complained that their bottle didn’t come with the lovely decorative box, but ours did.

Lovely - my favourite champagne - ordered twice from this supplier. Both times they came really promptly, in lovely presentation boxes.Won’t hesitate to use again

Wonderful tasting and plenty of bubbles, went down a treat at Birthday Bash.Highly recommend.Was very well packaged indeed and arrived on expected date.
