Pimm's is one a kind so it can't be compared to any other drink; so really one has to try it for oneself. To me, it means a summer drink - for some reason I've never tried it in the winter - it's fruity, with a slight dry peppery edge to it. It goes quite a long way, by mixing 1 part Pimm's No 1 to 3 parts lemonade (ordinary rather than diet) and adding plenty of ice and fruit.Tesco has made life a lot easier by selling their Summer Fruit Punch Mix, which includes fresh prepared orange, apple, strawberry and cucumber pieces alongside mint - so there's so much less preparation and more time for enjoyment. The Pimm's Company sell a lot of branded accessories to accompany their drink, from Pimm's mixer jugs and glasses to double deck chairs and garden umbrellas which tends to turn a chilled drink into a real ' summer evening in the garden occasion'.Pimm's No. 1 is such a popular drink and in fact I haven't met anyone who doesn't like it, which in itself is a recommendation. This year I'm intend to try Pimm's Winter Cup which should be a lovely warm drink to brighten up the Winter evenings. If you haven't tried Pimm's No. 1 cup, give it a go, and you'll wonder why on earth yoy haven't tried it before!

The very mention of Pimms conjures up visions of warm summer evenings in an English garden or those archetypal British summer events such as Wimbledon or the Chelsea Flower Show where a large Pimms will set you back a mere £10 or so.Although Pimms have tried to extend their market with variations such as their Winter Warmer, Strawberry or Blackberry and Elderflower, I, like most people will always think of Pimms as the gin based Pimms No 1. And what a perfect refreshing drink it is too. A large jug of Pimms and lemonade, with the addition of pieces of orange, apple, cucumber or anything else suitable which you have to hand with ice takes some beating. For seasoned drinkers the addition of a little neat gin to the jug will give a small extra kick without losing the taste. This is not the cheapest of drinks considering the relatively modest alcohol content at 25% and unsurprisingly there have been imitators galore. For example Aldi do one called Austins at a mere £5.99 for a standard bottle. In truth it's not at all bad, but it really does not have the same flavour and it's just not..........well, Pimms!

Pimm's have given some lovely recipes above and I've tried them all at one point or another over the years. A Pimm's Royale is rather special and as head turning as a champagne cocktail, Pimm's with ginger beer makes a great peppy drink and then there is the traditional Pimm's cup, which is gorgeous when freshly made but not so good when the fruit is mushy and it's not cold enough. For the mixer use a good-quality lemonade - it's best if it's not diet. To avoid the problems listedabove it's good to mix the Pimm's, mint, orange and cucumber in a Pimm's jug and and leave it in the fridge an hour or so before serving. The flavours infuse that way and it's well-chilled. You can then add the strawberries just before serving, topping up with the lemonade so that the Pimm's cup has sparkle and freshness. The schuss of Pimm's number 1 led to other versions. Pimm's Number 1 is gin based, the winter cup, number 3, is brandy based, number 6 is vodka based and so on. I have tried 3 and 6 also, but for me, this is the best, as the original os often is.

This is the classic gin based pimms with its subtle citrus and spice flavourings which make the delicious traditional drink of summer... Pimms and lemonade...ahhhh.This is not just for toffs at Wimbledon or the races, it is at its best drank in your garden on a sunny day with friends, an essential bbq drink. It is great shared with friends as it is not too strong, so a large jug can be made and enjoyed with good company people will be merry rather than annoyingly drunk!Lemonade is the traditional mixer but it is also good with ginger ale and if you are feeling flush champagne or prosecco with slices of strawberry, orange or even cucumber. The little flowers traditionally used to decorate pimms are borage, which is incredibly easy to grow ( and loved by bees), but if you don't want horticulture in your drink cucumber gives a similar taste. For a long summer drink pimms really can't be beaten.

Definitely a drink for drinking slowly & enjoying, not a drink for necking or getting intentionally drunk on, Pimms No1 cup is best mixed with as good a quality lemonade as you can get - tried it with a supermarket own brand as well as an old school traditional lemonade brand and there is a significant difference. With the supermarket brand you can taste the sweetener, with the traditional brand you taste the lemonade as well as the Pimms - just how it should be. Perfectly drinkable with just ice as a long / tall drink & no added fruit or mint leaves, its definitely a drink to have around for summer events, warm evenings by the BBQ or just as an alternative to wine / spritzer indoors as the evenings draw in.Try it, you might be pleasantly surprised.

I bought this on offer at £7.98 and £1 for shipping which I was very pleased with!My mum and I are both fans of Pimms, as are a lot of the British public once the sun pops out for 5 minutes. This is very refreshing as a punch drink mixed with lemonade and the usual fruit of berries, cucumber, orange, mint etc. It's not too strong either so you can enjoy a few and still not feel like you've had too much which is great. However!!! Contrary to popular belief Pimms can also be enjoyed as a nice festive drink during the winter too! Just mix with a bit of warm apple juice, cinnamon sticks, apple and orange slices (and a bit of brandy if you're feeling brave)and you have a comforting drink to welcome the Christmas season.

Pimms, the quintessential British Summer beverage. In our family it was always 'the' drink to accompany our summer BBQs and always goes down a treat. Add lemonade to taste, some fresh fruits and you have a wonderfully refreshing beverage that looks the part too.I think it's the British equivalent of Apparol - another staple of our family BBQs and to be honest I'd say in some cases - when it is hotter, I prefer it.This being said, the taste of Pimms is unique. With the sweetness of the lemonade it has a somewhat bitter tang to it but it is very drinkable. If you've never tried it before I suggest you do, it can be a great summer drink - and it's healthy too, with all that fruit in it :P

Pimm’s is summer in a glass for our household, and having tried other supermarket own brands none of them are as nice as this the original.Very easy to make up, just one part Pimm’s to three parts lemonade, lots of ice, then you can have the traditional garnish of mint, orange, strawberries and a bit of cucumber, but it’s equally great with any soft or citrus fruits you have lying around. We’ve had it with just strawberries before and this is my wife’s favourite, or even just Pimm’s and Lemonade is lovely.50ml of Pimm’s (which is the fairly typical measure we have for one serving), is 1.3 units of alcohol.A refreshing, long summer drink. Perfect.

I am in my autumn time of life and i have never tried Pimms before ever. Despite the description saying it was a gin based drink and the fact that i hate gin i thought i would give it a shot.I tried it neat straight out of the bottle and i was quite pleasantly surprised. To me it tastes like southern comfort, it is very spicy and fruity, i cant taste the gin at all. I also tried it with lemonade and it was really nice and refreshing, it is a light drink but just one drink made me fuzzy, however i am a bit of a lightweight. Was quite surprised to see its only just over a tenner a bottle, what a bargain!!

Despite the popularity of Pimm's it is only this summer that I have finally managed to try it, and I have to say that it is very good. It makes a very tasty and refreshing summer drink that goes down well, and the only downside that I have found is its strength; it doesn't feel or taste like an alcoholic drink when it's mixed but at 25% it doesn't take much of it to make me feel light-headed. I think it is great for enjoying in the garden on a sunny afternoon but I've also packed a bottle for this weekend when I'll be away with friends spreading the joys of Pimm's.

Summer classic drink Pimm's is now available on Amazon! There are apparently a number of controversies on how to dilute your Pimm's (for the love of all that's holy don't try drinking it neat) - with lemonade, ginger beer, or even tonic? Strawberries, cucumber, or even pineapple? To be honest once you're halfway through the jug you're not too bothered about such niceties! This was delivered promptly in a snug secure box (not a ton of padding though so fortunately it was handled gently) and was definitely the real thing. Looks like a good price too.

I was honestly 40 years old before I had tried Pimms. I thought it was just something that posh people drank at BBQs. Well, maybe I've turned posh in my old age, I honestly can't think of a better drink for a BBQ. This is a summer thing. Can't imagine drinking it on a dark cold night (that's what red wine was invented for) but on those glorious days? This is the one to crack out. Forget all the varients they have out, this is the original - mix it with lemonade, bung the ice in, and that there is the taste of the best summer afternoons.....

No to my taste. But it was not for me. It arrived in a sturdy, "friendly" brown cardboard box, wrapped up in bubble wrap. But, in turn the wife was not interested in that. She was in fact interested by the bottle and its contents. Now Wimbledon was weeks ago but still why not treat the wife. So I got a 440ml glass, added plenty of ice and a very generous measure of Pimms. 20 minutes later, one nicely chilled out wife. That's it for one night. At the time of writing, Tesco's have several flavours at £12 so the price is even.

Has to be the original Pimm's for me. Forget those other flavours, they are all rank. Also forget your cheapie substitutes from well-known supermarkets, they are OK, but lack the depth of flavour of this stuff.Worth shopping around, though, I only got this on Amazon when it was on a special deal, but now it's cheaper at the supermarket.I would recommend purchasing a jug, though, it's so much easier to make up a big jug of this with the ice and fruit and cucumber.

This was wildly popular at our BBQ. Whether mixed with Crabbie's Ginger Beer, Crabbie's Raspberry Ginger Beer, Sparkling Lemonade, or fresh squeezed lemonade with strawberries, cucumber, and lime, I couldn't keep our pitchers full. This full bottle of Pimm's made four full pitchers worth of delicious drinks that everyone enjoyed (at least I assume they enjoyed it since I barely got to drink any of it!) and we will certainly be buying more for our future BBQs.
