For a fiver more, the ambient light justifies a purchase over the white light. The additional settings add an array of, well, suitable ambience to the room from spring to winter.Everything else about this bulb represents getting what you pay for too. I've tried cheaper alternatives that were horrible. In terms of an impressive top brightness, adjustability and accessibility, this is simple, elegant perfection.The remote has excellent feedback and durability. It's holder grips securely to wherever you choose to place it on the wall and it's up and running immediately. No faffing about.And excellent bulb in its own right and equally as impressive as a smart bulb.

We were looking to get a dimmer for the nursery - was planning to call out electrician to fit one until I saw this product. Great item- has 4 different types of white light (soft, reading etc) & adjustable brightness - not sure how often you’d need to switch the ‘type’ of light but it’s a cool feature/ gadget to have! This is really easy to use - only thing is that the bulb is a screw fitting so we had to buy an adaptor to convert it to bayonet (was simple enough as you can pick these up cheaply on amazon). I really like this product - you can still operate your light via the main light switch but also have the option of using the Phillips remote to change up your lighting options.Would

If you want to start your smart home lighting system this is the place to start. Philips are the best at this and with so many apps available and works seamlessly with apple home it was a sure fine winner for me. The bulbs themselves are bright (you will need 2 for a brightly lit room) or alternatively you can have them as mood lighting.They are not the cheapest option out there and once you start your system it is best to stick with the same manufacturer so do your research first. I shop around for bulbs, wait for the offers, I have bought the bulbs for as low as £5 (bulb only).The biggest issue I have now is educating the wife and kids to stop switching off the lights!

I bought two of these as they’re a decent price for a white ambiance bulb and dimmer. Set up was easy as usual - just plug and play. I did have to use the serial number to find the bulb but pretty straight forward. The dimmer comes paired with the bulb out of the packaging but I reset it immediately and paired it with other bulbs around the house. Using a 3rd party app, you can make the dimmer switches do a lot more than the standard Hue app lets you, which means you can operate different rooms with one dimmer switch should you wish. I’ve tried other brand WiFi smart bulbs, but Hue are definitely the easiest and best in my opinion.

What a great way to test out smart lighting. We bought this with a starter pack so to be honest it did not connect as easily as the others from the kit, but google to the rescue and was up and running in minutes.Love the remote as I am not always wanting to open the app. or instruct Siri etc.We set the remote up to work with all our sitting room lights. Love it !

Got this as we purchased innr gu10 bulbs for kitchen lights. The light switch was on far wall, as when we moved in two doors into kitchen. So the second door was blocked off, but meant had to walk into kitchen to switch light on. Now with this placed wire free on wall next to main entrance have a switch, which would of cost 4x for spark to move existing switch.

As with anything like this they are a little expensive but I think worth spending the money to get what you want/need.The bulb is fitted in our hall pendant light and the remote operates two side lights in our lounge. Easy to set up with the Hue app and the flexibility of the timer function is also great.

A great addition to your existing smart lights setup or even as a standalone smart light if you don't have a Hub or other lights. Dimmer works great, and can be configured to set the lights to different scenes, if you have colour bulbs connected to it then the variety of scenes is better.

I often work until late at my desk. With the 'Feel better with light' formula the strength of the light changes from a strong white light in the morning to a low warm light in the evening. This is very pleasant. I've also a 6500K setting for photo & video editing, which is a nice feature.

Have three of these they work really well set up is very easy I have the hue hub so pairing with my hue set up was incredibly simple the app let's you assign switch to certain rooms/bulbs and you can programme switch to more than one room with is a clever feature

These literally work straight out the box. No apps or network required unless you want to do so. Just click the power button down in close proximity to each new bulb you want to add, and it's simply added to the group of bulbs on that controller.

Easy to install and configure: no problems at all. Easy to setup automatic routines - e.g. on at dusk with a gentle fade and to then programme to come on and off with bedroom lamps. Great buy

Is it worth the value for money? yes and no, yes because it’s a handy lightbulb if you have no got a dimmer switch for your lamp/light but it’s nothing to shout about

Really useful when you don’t have your iPhone handy and don’t want to yell to Siri to start the lights on a room. Just tap the buttons and that’s it.

Philips Hue begin fantastic as always. I don't really need coloured bulbs so going for this one has saved me a lot of money. Definitely recommended.
