You probably heared by now that philips hue are probably some of the best and most reliable smart lights out there.. So let me tell you how I've found them we have four hubs/ bridges and over 150 bulbs in our house from spot lights to bulbs.Things to be aware off.If you buy the hub/bridge with the bulbs they come pre configured with the bulbs. So you have to reset the bulbs to join them to another hub.You can use more than one hub/bridge in the house I have four.. However you have to switch between the hubs/bridges in the setting.. You won't see all the bulbs and accessories if you have more than one...You will only see the devices on that bridge at one time.You can only register one hub/bridge to your email so for remote access for the Hue ape to be able to switch your lights on and off anywhere in the world or when your out and about.. you can't access the other hubs. I've tried to set each hub on different emails accounts but the app really doesn't like it starts to get confused when switching to different accounts for the hue app so I hope Hue are reading this.The recommendation on approx devices to your hub is about 50. So I didn't go over 40 I noticed the switches to turn lights off became sluggish the more I added.. So when you do your numbers cater for the light switches to as a device not just the bulb.Becarful if your using other smart technologies in your house.. My hive heating system woundnt sync to radiator valves untill I changed the channel frequency of my hubs.. But to change that frequency the hub has to be in a connected state.If your using Bluetooth bulbs my house is now flooded with Bluetooth bulbs and the issues is they get picked up by other devices when trying to connect so there is alot to flick through. You can't switch this off.The brightness of the bulb is great and strong and dimmers and changing the light strength is a breeze.If you are using room light switches with your bulbs I'd definitely get the adapter plates that go over your regular light switch so the remote sits on top.I highly recommend this face plate as it stops people switching the power off as if the power swith is switched off then your bulb isn't smart and you can't connect to it.The bridges connect first time and any additional bulbs are really easy to sync up.

The important bit:Although not explicitly stated in the description, containing a single bulb and wall switch/dimmer this kit would appear to be designed to replace a single main overhead light bulb, however this single bulb is not bright enough on its own for even a small bedroom. There are solutions though...The two real options are either replace the light fitting with one that takes multiple bulbs or fit a 'splitter', and then purchase an additional Hue bulb(s). I chose the cheaper splitter option as although not a particularly elegant solution I have high ceilings and once in the lampshade it is relatively disguised,unlike in another room where it did look rather odd.Purchasing this kit plus an extra bulb still worked out the cheapest way to obtain a dimmer and two white ambiance bulbs, albeit a rather higher expenditure than I was expecting for a single light, even for Philips.It was very easy to sync the dimmer switch with the 2nd bulb and both bulbs now operate simultaneously when using the switch. Likewise in the Hue Bluetooth app the bulbs are easily grouped for simultaneous operation.Speaking of the Bluetooth app, it is separate from the usual Hue app and is certainly more limited in its capabilities, however it is a good introduction to Hue smart lighting and saves the cost of purchasing a Bridge before you can even begin. The app also has a demo mode so you can download it and try it out with some 'imaginary' bulbs to see if it does enough for your needs before purchasing anything.In conclusion the white ambiance bulbs are very good and once everything I needed was acquired it does what I wanted/expected it to do, just a shame this 'kit' wasn't really a complete one, more just a discounted way to purchase a dimmer and a bulb. Probably deserves somewhere between 3 and 4 stars but I've been a bit generous as I'm happy with the final result.On a side note, if you do choose to purchase a splitter I would recommend being wary of the many Chinese imports sold by 3rd parties on Amazon, I eventually found one from a German company sold by Amazon (not just fulfilled), which is far more likely to be safe (it was also CE marked, although this in itself is no guarantee of safety).

The hue light system is excellent if a little pricey.The remote is great and the reason I bought this pack was due to lockdown and working from home I found my webcam image very poor quality as my PC is set with the window at the side.I shoved a lamp behind my PC monitor directly at me with one of these bulbs and managed to set the right colour balance on the bulb and then the remote is on my PC case attached with the magnets it comes with allowing me to quickly turn it on and off for meetings while messing with the brightness.A great cheap alternative to a professional set up.

The low brightness has been brilliant for when getting up at the unmentionable hours of the night, and the remote & voice assistant (Google) has been a great help when he main switch is the other side of the room.I'll be getting another when my baby is born so night feeds aren't so harsh in the eyes with bright lights.Set up didn't take long but this was an addition to a pre-existinting Philips hue system so not sure if this works solo or not

Sometimes technology just makes you happy. This is one of those pieces of tech. I love the dimmer switch, and the white ambience bulb to switch from cold white to warm white. I use it in my kitchen, where for years I've struggled to get a tone of light I'm happy with. The dimmer switch is magnetic and so it's on the side of my fridge as I walk in. Perfect! I love it!

Excellent bulb, had a little problem with setting up the bluetooth with my phone but was quickly sorted. The range of colour temperatures is a handy feature to change the mood of the room. The light shines very bright for my needs. Works flawlessly with Alexa also.

Great at first. The dimmer did become disconnected after only two months but support helped reconnect it. Support is via Facebook and Twitter which I always find a bit ominous, but they responded within an hour.

Very nice bulb as the variations it gives with the white light are very good, you can have the cool LED light or a warm glow that looks more traditional,The remotes are very handy and work decently.

Bought this to go with the rest of my hue system. I've got about 40 in total now. They all work well and are really reliable. Really bright and a worthwhile addition to any house.

Philips hue are good quality bulbs as countless reviews have stated and quite a good deal to get the bulb and dimmer switch in a package together
