During an OFSTED inspection at the beginning of the academic year the civil servant pen-pushers, who stroll into the classes of subjects that they have little or, more usually, no idea of whatsoever and pass judgement on people doing a job that they personally aren't capable of doing, declared that I (and several others) must produce "a fully comprehensive and concise handout for all students for each subject taught".Firstly we assumed that they meant "all students" in a particular class and not all students in the educational institution in question, or the country, or possibly worldwide. Then we assumed that they were too thick to realise that "fully comprehensive" and "concise" are actually contradictions in terms - "comprehensive" being complete,in-depth and all-inclusive - and "concise" being brief and summarising. Though I will admit to using concise summaries of a comprehensive divisional subject text they are still two separate entities, and every teacher I have spoken to scratches their heads in wonderment at the demand for something that is both comprehensive and concise at the same time. Finally we assumed that they aren't expecting us to produce a full textbook size handout (singular) for each subject that we teach (either comprehensive or concise) - let's be honest if I am going to be forced to produce a textbook then I'm going to publish it and be paid for it - due to cutbacks I (and my fellow teachers) have to pay for each handout that is produced for each class student so it would be nice to recoup some of those losses.Of course knowing OFSTED and its petty dictatorial, jack-boot wearing, permanently frustrated witch-hunters with their nit-picking and ridiculously pervasive, soul destroying demands - most of which are to be universally applied regardless of whether or not the subject in question lends itself to their new "teaching and learning" ideological fad (for example, "learning by play" when studying criminal activities and murder - where's the respect for the deceased in "play"?!) - they probably do mean a free textbook for every student, globally, regardless of course, institution or country. In addition to their demands for "a fully comprehensive and concise handout for all students for each subject" "all handouts are to be hole punched and stapled for the student's convenience". This is to be done on "a standard 2 whole [sic] on the left sid [sic] of the handout with a staple at a 45 degee [sic] angle in the top crner [sic] lining up at 1 cm from the top and 1 cm from het [sic] right". By "right" we think they were meaning "left" ... or it's going to make using the handout a little awkward!Since most handouts that I produced prior to Herr Inspector's visitation could be up to 20 pages in length (and sometimes more depending on the area of the subject to be covered) I needed a stapler and a hole punch that would be able to perform to the mandated demands of the almighty OFSTED - lest we be labelled "failing" for the sake of a staple and a couple of holes that students don't really want. The "Prodigy" stapler, which I have been using, doesn't require me to slam the staple bar down onto the paper as previous ones have done. It has a lever across the top of the staple bar (with which I have pinched my finger in a couple of times) which means that the downward pressure is reduced so now instead of having to stand up and use my weight and strength to help force a staple through the wad of paper I can remain sitting (which is a great help as I am partially disabled). The stapler came with a small box of staples to get you started - they are the standard "26" size staples which are available at supermarkets, etc. Though, if you are going to staple large quantities of paper, you make want to invest in some quality staples as it can be quite annoying to discover that the metal staple has broken due to the stress. This is a good stapler and, I am pleased to say, has made my life a little easier (even if OFSTED haven't).

This stapler is very comfortable for hand-held operation and has rounded edges at the base so you don't get the dreaded pressure line on your hand if you're stapling lots of times. It doesn't slip or slide around when used as a desk-top device because it has a grippy, non-slip base that works very well.It is the easiest stapler to load that I have ever experienced. You lift up the staple head/arm to open it and the staple cover slides back automatically, so you can slide in a full strip of staples. The stapler comes with a slim pack of staples (26/6 size) so you can get going right away. The stapling action is very light to operate and deals with 24 sheets together without any trouble or heavypressing at all.The build quality is solid; the staple head/arm is metal and there are no rough or sharp edges anywhere to catch or hurt you. It feels strong and smooth and it looks stylish. Unlike some staplers I've had, this one works to the very last staple in the strip without jamming and without spitting out the last few staples in the reservoir. This is achieved by a cunning little 'gate' (a nipple, really, I suppose, to term it correctly) that holds the staples in place in the queue and stops several staples jumping forward together or jamming themselves on the stapling 'anvil'.There is also a handy slot on the stapler side that shows how many staples are left for use, so you don't need to open the machine to check that. The stapler is big enough not to get lost on my desk and neat enough so that it isn't cumbersome or unwieldy. It really is the best stapler I have ever used. I am delighted with it.

The packaging for the Paper Pro Prodigy says it's "The Easiest Stapler You'll Ever Use", and I'd find it hard to disagree with that. Basically, it's a staple gun for ordinary staples. Put the sheets in place (up to 25 at a time), press down with only a small bit of pressure... there is a "thunk"... and there you have it - a nice neat staple, perfectly curled at the ends.Having read the description, it's what I was expecting would happen, but what I wasn't expecting was that there are no batteries in this thing - it works purely off stored kinetic energy. The other thing worth mentioning is that opening it up to put new staples in (of which there are six strips included) is just as easy.Turn it upside down, pull the base back, and the mechanism just slides open ready for you to drop the next strip in.It's definitely one of those things that makes you wonder, "how did I manage before?"; When stapling several sheets together using an ordinary stapler, you often find it hasn't done it properly and have to do it again, which looks quite messy, but no such problems with this stapler.I'm very impressed with it. Some may mark it down because of the price, and you may accuse me of being gushing about it because I got a review copy, but in a busy office environment something like this can pay for itself in usefulness and help reduce frustration.

Received this stapler this morning and quickly removed it from its packaging to try it. The machine came with a supply of 1260 Premium PaperPro 26/6 (quarter-inch) staples, and I loaded the stapler up with a set. I grabbed the first thing to hand that had several 80gsm pages, set the stapler down on its stand on the table in front of me, put the wad of paper between the stapler's 'teeth' and pressed down on the top with only my index finger. There was the tiniest of clicks and it was all over. Remarkable. Easily the most responsive stapler I have ever used (and I have used many in my time). A count up afterwards of what I'd just seen this stapler drive a staple through revealed there were 33 pages! And the staple folded down on the other side, just in case anyone was wondering. This is now my latest favourite toy! This stapler may cost quite a bit more than your average stapler, but that is because it is NOT an average stapler. I am glad I invested in one of these, even though I daren't tell my missus exactly what I paid for it. If you want to treat yourself for your birthday, and you are looking around for a new stapler (or not), this is the way to go.Recommended.

Once you've got the sturdy-but-annoying-to-get-into packaging out of the way, and have gotten used to the weight of this, you have an efficient, no frills stapler. It arrived the day after our 15-something years old stapler gave up the ghost and has made us see what an antique that was. With this, there are no whims and no fiddling so that the strip of staples breaks into small unusable bits: all you need to do is sit it on a flat surface, open it, insert the staples onto the loading catch, close it and it's ready. To staple, simply insert the sheets of paper (up to 25) and touch your fingertip to the top and job-done.This comes with a pack of staples, and luckily, they're of the bog-standard variety or future purchases, which makes this cheap and cheerful to use.Update 27/02/14 - we've had to purchase another stapler, as with this one, if you're stapling only a few sheets, the impact of the stapling motion is so powerful that it tears the paper along the line of the staple, thus meaning that the staple will probably work loose at some point. Still, it's great for reams of paper, just not for a few sheets.

As much as one can, I love this stapler. It has a very light action, minimal force is required to operate the stapler. I think because of that, I have no problems with bent staples - I think that the lack of excessive force means the alignment of the stapler and guide is always good.It is made from a mixture of plastic and metal, and gives a strong impression of quality. It is reasonably heavy - so it is stable and does not slide around or wobble as you use it. It is to be used in place sitting on a desk surface - not ideally suited, for example, to holding in one hand in the air, and doing your stapling.I have found the supplied staples excellent.I have just spent a couple of weeks writing technical reports (I am a self-employed engineer-consultant)and preparing my personal tax return and company accounts. So far it has not failed to stable a bunch of papers even once.It requires only a light touch to operate, and yet it shows a powerful stapling force.I actually now have three of these, one in red, one in blue and one in black (for use in different locations where I work mostly).

The easiest of reviews to write - this machine is a joy to use, it couldn't be simpler, even the packet it comes in kindly opens itself and the stapler flips out. There are 1260 staples that come with it (who's counted them I wonder). These snap into place with ease, the stapler is wonderfully well thought out, with a nice flat base with a neat red rubber footing, allowing it to stand stable and at the ready.I have never previously managed to staple 25 pages together; bent staples, frustration and squashed fingers would result from trying to do that in the past. This Paper Pro Prodigy does the trick without a murmur, the strength required is no trouble to summon up as you squeeze the stapler shut over the papers with just the one hand. The action is so fast you can't believe the staple is actually in, the job done and dusted before you know it.Reassuringly heavy and well built, attractive in design, I feel we are going to be workmates for many years to come. Roll on the Vat return with all those receipts to tidy together...

Well made desk stapler, 7 inches long tip to tip, with a cast metal mechanism, metal strike plate and plastic frame. Rubberised non-slip grip underneath and a soft-touch top to the handle. Opening the stapler up releases the loading catch for the staple strip (6 strips of 26/6 staples provided too).Absolutely amazing in use - the lightest touch on the handle fires a staple neatly through up to 25 sheets of paper according to the blurb, and I can well believe it. I tried it with an old notebook with a couple of sheets left on it, and it punched through 4 thicknesses of cardboard backing sheet and 8 sheets of paper with no problems at all - you expend the same energy however many sheets of paper you have - the stapler does the work for you. With a couple of sheets of paper, the staples are absolutely flattened on the reverse - it's only when you build up the number of sheets that you get the 'classic' bowed finish to the staple.Really impressed with this - can't decide whether to take it to work or keep it at home !

Not much to say. This really is a one finger stapler that'll punch through, certainly a dozen sheets of standard weight paper that I tested it on and a claimed 25 sheets according to the manufacturer. It's a little larger than a standard stapler but not really any bigger than the heavier, heavy duty staplers that it competes against. That said it's not built as heavily as one of them either so you really don't want to be putting all your force on it. I think it's either going to do the job or not, don't try to force it.The staple carrier slides out and then you load the staples into the stapler and slide the carrier back in until it clicks.Amusingly my old stapler had you load the carrier and then push it in - which I was able to do with the PaperPro and then I wondered why it wouldn't staple, when I had the staples loaded on the wrong side. Soon figured it out.Surprisingly good piece of office kit. Really hadn't expected it to be as good as it turned out to be.

I found this stapler to be very easy and staple thick reports and documents together without having to resort to using a hole punch and some treasury tags or heavy duty paper clips to keep my documents together as my old stapler was not up to the job. This is a nicely made and heavier duty stapler and on using with thicker stacks of paper (between 15-25 sheets of papers), the staples did not bend, they stapled right through like butter with out having to use excess force and I have yet to experience a bent staple with it, but that could also be due to the 'premium' staples that were supplied with the stapler. It definitely made my life easier whilst dealing with a load of paperwork that needed to be sorted and there was no down time with trying to unpick bent staples.Definitely a office workhorse stapler with no problems to report so far.

This is a heavy, sturdy, stapler that appears to be very well made. For me the big selling point is the number of sheets of paper it claims to be able to staple in one go. It claims 25 sheets and in my tests this is the case - although you have to push a bit harder with that many sheets rather than the 'one touch' claimed by the manufacturer.Additional bonuses are that it is easy to refill and doesn't take too much desk space at around 17cm in length. There's also a website showing by video how best to use the stapler - it's not rocket science but is useful nonetheless.Overall it's difficult to see what more that a manual stapler could offer so five stars.Other reviewers have reported quality issues after using the stapler for a while. If this happens to me I'll update the review, and reduce the number of stars!

Does this do what it claims? Oh yes. 25 sheets of 80gsm paper, one finger – no problem. Just as importantly, I’ve had no bent staples or jams, so far. It’s a reassuringly weighty piece of kit and yet little bigger than a standard stapler. Loading staples is dead easy; you have to turn the stapler over but that isn’t a problem. It comes with six strips of premium 26/6 staples. You’d probably do best to stick with top-quality staples if you’re going to staple 20+ sheets with any frequency. My standard office staples did work ok but didn’t seem sure they wanted to!This is easily the best stapler I’ve used and has replaced the two staplers (standard and enormous heavy-duty) I’ve been using until now, freeing up desk space and making the place look tidier. Highly recommended and well worth the asking price.

This stapler seems to be solidly built, it feels very sturdy and has a little bit of grip on the base to help prevent it from sliding around so easily when you're trying to staple things.Just to see for myself, I tried to staple 25 sheets of paper using just one finger as advertised and indeed I managed to do just that with ease, this is merely to show the fact it requires barely any force to staple things, so staple how you would normally do so.It's a fairly expensive stapler, however does seem to be of good quality so hopefully it will last for a long time.► I have included a short video which shows how to insert the staplers as well as proof of the "one finger power" on 25 sheets ofpaper.

If you think that this is too much to pay for a stapler then you're wrong. In my line of work I use many staples, on average each day we're talking about 50 times I use it. Have had this bad boy for 3 months now. It has never misfired. Never. Normal staplers you're mucking about with skew and jammed up staples. And the thing they talk about in the advertising is true, it is literally possible to staple with only one finger. I've even done it with my pinkie and it works. The only downside is I think I have alienated my co-workers with my constant chat about how much I love my stapler. I mean, isn't life meant to be about enjoying the little things?tldr: best stapler ever
