Every person's beard is different and whilst one shaver might suit one person it may not suit all. I have tried many shavers over the years with varying degrees of success especially as my skin loses its elasticity with age (now well into my 60's). However I bought a Panasonic ESRW30 a couple of years ago and it has proven to be one of the best that I have found for my beard. Because they are so inexpensive I have now bought myself a second one as it is almost as cheap to replace the whole shaver as opposed to just the cutter and foil. The only downsides to this shaver are that the side cutter is perhaps not as effective as some others but as this is not used every day it has not been problematic. In addition the cutting area of the foil is also smaller than some other models which means shaving takes a little longer but the final result is good, and that is what I strive for.As the shaver is stored in the battery holder between shaves it is kept in a ready state for use. Even during travelling when it has been stored out of the storage unit for several days there always seems to be plenty of battery life and it has never let me down yet. This is still true even after more than two years of continual use. All in all a good shaver for the money and I have no problem recommending it to others.Read full review...

OK, I've only had it a couple of days, but I'm blown away by this razor. I noted before purchase some slightly negative comments about it, but I feel the reviewers had forgotten how cheap this thing is! It is more smooth than my previous series 3 Braun, and doesn't require so much pressure to get close. It's given me the closest dry shave I've ever had with an electric razor (I haven't tried it wet, and have no intention of doing so) and that's what I need it for. One slightly negative comment is that it won't handle a few days growth, because there's no center cutter between the two heads, but for shaving every day it looks as though it's going to be fine.I don't of course know the longevity of either the razor or the charger, but if it lasts a year I'll be happy. It costs less than a replacement foil/head for my Braun - enough said! All in all a remarkable razor I feel.

Panasonic ES-RW30 Wet and Dry Twin-Blade Rechargeable Shaver with Pivoting Head I've tried many electric shavers over the years, many different types and makes. All of them, apart from an expensive, triple head, rotary Phillips, some years ago have been a disappointment never coming close to a wet shave. Inspired by the good reviews for this product and Panasonic shavers in general I decided to give this one a try. The results are much better than expected, it does take some time and bit of effort to get it right, but so far I'm impressed. The results still aren't a good as a wet shave but it's not too far off. I can't recommend using it as a wet shaver as this left my face very sore and gave no better a shave than when using it dry. It's good to know though that it can be cleaned throughly by running it under a tap with no ill effects.

I have in the last 10 Years bought 5 top of the range Panasonic Razors, each costing between £150 and £200 pounds from John Lewis and other major departmental stores. All have failed to operate in about 2 to 3 years, the reason? they are full of water, this is after they have been opened to facilitate battery disposal, all are supposed to be waterproof. This one is much less expensive and gives just as good a shave, and if it only last a couple of years I will have won on price, going for the top of the range is not always the best option.John Bentley Liverpool. PS. I have in the last 10 years bought over 20 Panasonic video recorders and these have never failed, but then again I don,t put these in the bathroom sink!

I bought this razor for my husband shortly before we went on holiday in September 2014. He wanted it to save the bother of wet shaving. As it was under £30 he thought that it would be OK for a week and maybe use it occasionally at home but he uses it almost every day.He tells me that it is convenient and shaves almost as close as a blade and only takes 5 mins.It can be washed out in water without harming it and a charge lasts about a week. What a good buy this was. I only bought Panasonic because our home phone was this brand and has been reliable but I will look at this brand again when I need to replace electrical goods.

I wanted to buy an electrical razor and after consider some others I bought this item because I found it at a very low price (30€, my budget was 50€).I use it daily and I am very glad with its efficiency. It's very easy to use and to clean. It took to me close to 2 weeks to adapt to it, So be patient if is the first time you use this kind of razor. Firsts times you will feel sensible your face. Now I can use it in morning and afternoon same day and no problem at all.I prefer to use it dry as I find it faster. Now I don't need to use shave foam and razors and I am saving money that was one of my goals.Thank you!

After several premium, heavyweight shaves which never fulfilled their promise, I've bought this Panasonic which is smaller, lighter and the charge lasts for fewer shaves so it may not be for everyone. But at 1/3 of the price, it shaves well (just let it glide over a stretched face without pressure), has a nifty trimmer and is v easy to clean. The blades and foil unit are separate so no expensive cassette to replace (Braun) and it has a neat charger and foil protector which are good for travel. It's a different cheaper option and as such it's great value

this is probably not a fault of design, but of my stubern growth. the foile head is to soft & ifyoused agresivly has a tendansy to cach the mooving head, wich will then cause it to fracture. parts for this item are more expensive than the item theirfore the onley answer is to scrap it. With the rotery head the blade cover is more substansiol therefore doese not collaps on pressure, allowing a more vigorouse shave expeareance. However this is better for triming & uper lip.

Bought this to replace another ageing Panasonic shaver. Wow, what a shave. This confirms to me that Panasonic beat Braun, a much closer shave and the foils last ages, in fact the old one still has its orignal after 3 years, just the battery life is about 3 days now instead of at least 7 when new. If have you any doubts about replacing another make, don't, go for one of these, you will not be unhappy.

For the price, this Panasonic shaver cannot be faulted. Being able to have awet shave in the bath (fully charged, but Not connected to the mains supply, obviously) withan electric shaver is a joy! My only criticismis that not all of my neck hair gets closely shaved. To be honest, though, no shaver of any make or brand has been ableto do this for me. All in all, a recommendable purchase.

15.11.2017

This is a more light weight version of the Panasonic shaver it was replacing. I had over two days growth and I was impressed with the comfortable and efficient shave it gave me right out of the box. I would not have recommended the previous model I had but this hits all the right spots and I was able to purchase it at a bargain price. 101% satisfied. Well done Panasonic!

Have tried a lot of electric shavers and for the price this one is great. Sharp blade gives a close shave, battery life great. Point to note that to replace blades/foil is dearer than to just replace whole unit which is what I've done as at around £22 for a new shaver or it's £28 for Panasonic blades/foil replacement.Good all rounder for price.

18.7.2018

I have used a number of electric shavers over the years and my best one was a battery operated small travel shaver, still going after 25 years. This Panasonic is of equal quality and such a comfortable close shave. Forget all those shavers at hundreds of pounds, I have bought them. This is a first class product at under £30. A Bargain.

27.5.2017

Having used wet shaving for decades this is my 1st electric razor for a long time. I am amazed at the closeness of the shave and the trimming blade attached Though not quite as close as a wet shave its never the less very good and I am impressed with it. Its also very easy to clean . Simple to charge .A superb purchase.

21.3.2012

I bought this on the reviews but sadly it does not cope with my soft beard and will not take more than one day of growth without trimming first. my last shaver was rotary and performed well, perhaps I should have known? I'll stick with it for now as it holds charge well and does shave close, the trimmer works very well!
