Used recently on a wild camp (@great_britiah_peaks). It's a great bag so I'll start with likesThings I liked:The frame honestly makes it feel like I'm cheating and probably negates 1/4 of the weight you're carrying.Feels very well made (expect no less from Osprey this not being my first bag). The outside stretch pockets are large and accomodating.Lightweight and strong - good balance of weight. Not so great (hence 4*):The way the frame really eats into the space in the main compartment can make stuffing your bag in, along with hydration packs etc quite tricky, especially in a rush)The straps for hiking poles were ok, not great.Too much dangle on them when poles were in and I seemed to spent a lot of time holding the poles to stop them swinging around. The shoulder straps are not wide enough. The main contact area of the shoulder straps can shift which can be uncomfortable, they are finley padded when contact is correct, the straps just seem to move them slightly out of position sometimes.Lots of other positives but overall I would recommend and it's good value for money from what I can see.

I bought this hiking pack to meet 3 main requirements:1. To allow me to place the majority of the weight on my hips rather than my shoulders2. To allow an air gap between the pack and my back and3. To be intrinsically light-weight.Having recently used it on a 150 km 4-day hike and I can confirm it meets these requirements pretty well.I am 6' 3", with an exceedingly long back. The adjustment straps are JUST long enough to allow me to fit the pack as I wish. It's a pity all the straps are not manufactured a couple of centimetres longer. This applies to the adjustment of the chest strap too. I wish I could set it a little lower. The hip straps are fine, and easy to adjust, even to my 40" waist. For my needs - hikes of a few days - it is large enough. Presumably in an attempt to keep the weight down, it lacks the bells and whistles of some more sophisticated rucksacks that have more pockets accessible from the side or back. The Exos 58 has a single main chamber, only accessible from the top.All in all, a worthy product that I have given the benefit of any doubt to, and awarded a full 5 stars.

I bought this Osprey 58 litre rucksack to replace a Lowe Alpine 75/85 litre one that has given me good service but is much heavier (2.6 kg vs 1.1 kg!). The Lowe sac is a good piece of kit but I don't need the volume or weight-carrying capacity now. I have at last had the chance to try the Osprey sac in real conditions for a 2 day backpack & it worked well: I was carrying 11 kg (24.2 lb) for a total distance of 55km (35 miles). No back ache, hip & top strap worked fine, although thinner than Lowe sac, so the load distributed well. I had to rethink how to pack the sac as the big volume in the Osprey is lower down. There are no pockets on the hip belt, probably because of their thinner construction, nor is there a rain cover included (the one off the Lowe sac will fit the Osprey though). I'm looking forward to using this sac on longer expeditions & saving 1.5 kg on my base weight.

Overall, super comfy and plenty of space. This is the 58L version.Stuff: I have about a 10 - 12kg load.I filled it with a 4 season sleeping bag (compressed), a collapsible chair, 500g stove, clothes for a 3 day hike, a 3 person tent, medical gear and other bits and bobs like a head torch. Still a good amount of room left in the bag, and in the side and front mesh pockets which are huge and awesome.Comfort:Really comfortable to wear, the mesh at the back leaves a gap between your back and the actual bag - so actual real genuine ventilation. Perfect. The straps are really comfy and the waist and chest clips are great, really distributes the weight evenly.I am yet to actually hike with it,but so far it's by far worth the money for a premium ergonomically designed hike bag.

Had this backpack this year (2018) on the "Pacific Crest Trail" at over 4200 km. The backpack is lightweight and very popular on many trails on the trail. You can also put in a bear canister and you still have enough space. The carrying system is good even if the hip straps are a little too soft and the shoulder straps could tolerate some more padding. Be sure to pay attention to the correct back length when buying !! Absolute buy recommendation for Ultra-Leicht Wanderer.

I have been using the earlier version of the Exos 58 for several years for my overnight hillwalking routes and I found it a great improvement over the older, heavier fixed frame rucksacks, both in terms of weight and comfort. The new version has improved padding on the shoulder straps and much tougher mesh over the side and rear outer pockets. My only gripe is the disappearance of the useful zip pocket in th.e belt strap on the new model.A great rucksack in my opinion

My Osprey Exos 58 was delivered hassle free and well packaged in a box which was great as i was a wee bit worried about the frame being damaged. The pack is great apart from having no hipbelt pockets but i knew this as i also own the Exos in the 48 litre size but i wanted a wee bit more room without bursting the seams of my Exos 48. Loving the Exos 58 its a perfect weight and perfect size for my wild camping ventures

I originally bought the Exos 48 but had the medium and turned out to be too short for my back so I sold that and bought this one. I'm glad of the additional 10 litres as the pack can always be cinched down for smaller loads. This is so comfy and is over a kilo and a half lighter than my previous Lowe Alpine pack. Highly recommend.
