I am quite a fan of water/O2 permeable nail polish. Nails underneath are well taken care of and are generally in better condition when nail polish is removed.I have an Inglot water permeable nail polish that I love and will be comparing the two in this review. Before I get to that, the colour. Pop My Berry is a little on the orange side of red but goes well with my olive skin and makes me look tanned. It grew on me! I tend to wear colours with a blueish base but would wear this one again, especially in the Summer.Nailberry is marketed as a cruelty-free, vegan, gluten-free (who worries about gluten in nail polish exactly???) product. Have a look at the website.I found that a bit weird. So I did a bit of a test: two weeks of the Inglot version on my toes followed by two weeks of this. Nailberry goes on well. It's neither too thick nor too thin. I did what I usually do: single coat on everything but the big toe nail, which gets a double coat. The colour didn't change much with the second coat, a good sign. No top or base coat. I'm pleased to say Nailberry lasted almost as well as Inglot. The only difference in two sets of two weeks was I spent about 40 minutes in a pool in the second week of the Nailberry week which resulted in both my second toe nails chipping. I did a very light touch up which blended well and stayed on until the end of the two weeks. Inglot has never chipped when I've worn it!Nailberry is only slightly more expensive than Inglot so 4 stars as slightly not as good as Inglot water permeable but slightly more expensive! But glutenfree!

3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.This is a review of 'Pop My Berry', which is a gorgeous red. I had never heard of 'breathable' nail polish, along with several other reviewers. My first thought was, "Well, that means no base coat, or top coat." I don't have any such breathable products in my make up organiser.Impermeable layers of top and base coat would obviously defeat the object of having 'breathable' polish, what is clearly needed to get full use of these is the matching breathable coats. They are available, at £17.00 for a combined base and top layer - a little more than I'm used to paying. The square bottle with black and white label has a rather 'high-end' look, that matches the price. So,how does it perform? It's a thinnish polish, but it has a lot of colour, so one coat does the job quite nicely. That has to be a plus, and on quite a humid day, the polish dried fairly quickly. A few minutes of jazz hands, and we were there. So far, so good, but even with my being careful with what I did, the polish started to wear down quite quickly. 'Wear down' is the only way to describe what happened, really, It didn't flake, exactly, it just seemed to not be covering some areas as well as it was. It's a bit like the staining effect left by a highly pigmented lipstick. The product has a long list of plus points listed by Nailberry - including being vegan. I wasn't aware that any nail polishes weren't vegan, so that's interesting.I do really like the colour, but this isn't great value in terms of lasting power against the price.

Vegan? Great - why use animal products or animal testing in this age of science? It's pricey for a nail polish but without the 'big 5' of nasties that are routinely found in regular polishes (which some reports link to all sorts of issues including being carcinogenic...like so many things it seems) expect to pay a premium.Performance first: it performs. I applied 2 coats without a base or top coat (otherwise that would defeat the object of a breathable polish). It was touch dry quite quickly although was soft for a while so couldn't put pressure on the nail surface for a good half hour at least. 3 days on, and it's just starting to look tired on close inspection. But mostly it has worn well. The brush is great, giving generous coverage with neat edges. The polish consistency is a little runner than normal but it allows for easier application. The bottle looks classy; square and minimal.I would recommend this polish but with a cautionary note (hence the 4 star review). Maybe because it is breathable (the benefits of which will become clear over time, I think), the colour transfers onto other surfaces. It was initially as though I had red crayons for fingers! It was really only the first 24 hours or so, but any time my nail came into contact with something it left a red mark...on a cream lampshade, white vanity unit... It isn't happening so often now the colour has set so to speak. But it is a definite potential issue! However I would probably buy this again; vegan, looks expensive, great colour and coverage.

Colour under review: Pop My BerryI had never heard of this brand before, and the USP of being breathable and free of some irritant chemicals sounded appealing.First impressions were very positive - a nicely presented bottle, and a pure clear colour. To get the best benefit from this polish, I chose to use it without a base coat. The polish was quite runny, but it was very pigmented and one coat was sufficient to get good opaque coverage. Because of lack of time, I used a quick drying top coat, as per my usual routine. This took well, with no shrinkage or wrinkling. The colour looked great, and lasted well for the first 24 hours, and then began to flake - this isn't unusual with the top coat, but it usually takes longer. Once it had started to flake, the polish went from neat to ragged very quickly.Removing the polish was straightforward, but because I hadn't used a base cost, there was some staining on the nails. This was a nice polish, but not outstanding.

Wonderful bright colour. I love the principle of this product as I always worry about the chemicals in nail polish, I didn't paint my nails at all when I was pregnant. The only thing with this is that I usually use a base coat to protect my nails and a top coat for longevity. With this polish I did neither so in some ways it was much quicker to apply. However, I found that that nail polish did not last very long, after 3 days I wanted to redo them.Saying that I still rate this nail polish with 4 stars because I am very anti-chemical and all for safer products. So for me personally the sacrifice of having nail polish that did not last as long was well worth it.I have not investigated "safer" top coats but I will do and revise this review.

This Nail Laquer does have some good plus points. For a start, it's Vegan friendly, which should keep our Vegan friends happy and is, in the end, good for everyone. Secondly, the Nailberry colour is great, a nice bright red that isn't too bright or deep.It goes on well, though slightly more watery than others we've used, and needs few coats ideally to get the right spread. Once dried, it seems to cope well with day-to-day wear without chipping too much in a week of testing. However, it does lose a star due to the price, which is high compared to similar products, and the fact that, while it didn't chip, the colour faded during use over the week. It's still a very good nail polish, but certainly could be that little bit better.

Nail varnish is something thats always noticed by people, the more vibrant the colour the easier it is for people to see an tis range offers a good set to choose from. OK, so its not cheap but when you take into account the coverage you'll be pleased that you spent the extra rather than having bought a cheaper alternative that you need to do multiple coats to get an even finish. All round its great coverage, smells not to overpowering (as some nail varnishes do) and all round has a reasonable duration, although as wtih others, it will chip through daily tasks. Very happy and is definitely a range I'll be purchasing from in the future.

This is a very vibrant, clear, true red with no hint of blue or orange. It went on easily, one brushful did two hands and one coat was plenty. This is important; I've reviewed several that needed two coats for good cover and of course that means it only lasts half the time. This goes a long way to redeeming the high price of £14.50 - if it lasts twice as long as a cheaper brand at half the price, there's no difference. It dried quickly and then survived washing up, vacuuming and cleaning the stove... Even more importantly, it's cruelty-free, for which I'm prepared to pay extra (and vegan-friendly, if that's a consideration for you).

This polish is slightly more expensive than normal polishes however that is understandable once you start using the polish as you only need one or two coats to get a lovely solid cover. It is hard to say yet how it will benefit your nails from being oxygenated and breathable. Unfortunately without having a top coat from the same range, it defeats the point of being breathable by putting a regular top coat on however the colour was beautiful and would make you inclined to purchase more in the range.

This is really good quality nail varnish. The bottle is pretty and the brush is small and excellent for accuracy. The texture of the varnish is perfect, not sticky but thin. It provides perfect coverage though. It dries hard fast. Under a minute I think. I do use spray fyi.I have found it to be really chip resistant. It's been on 3 days with no top coat and its stood up to housework, gardening etc without wearing at the tips. The colour is a really tomatoey red which is actually great!

I've always wondered how some people manage to achieve the most amazing smooth and professional looking cover with their nail varnish. Using Nailberry for the first time, I think I'm getting the idea, which is paying a bit more for excellent quality. I was amazed using this at the instant smooth glide and perfect cover. Amazing - what a difference. It's an added bonus to be aware of its benefits for nails and lack of nasties in ingredients.

This is a lovely shiny nailvarnish in Pop My Berry (bright red) colour. The varnish is on the runny side and not thick and gloopy, so it went on well with no streaks, which was a bonus. You may need a second coat, but I was happy with just the one. It is a very bright red and looks very vibrant. I had never heard of this make before. Unfortunately I couldn't read the tiny writing on the back of the bottle, to give you any more information.

This nail varnish for me is totally worth the price tag. The vanish goes on so nicely, and lasts for a week (I used a Sally Hansen top coat, so can't speak for the Nailberry brand top coat). I bought Moonlight first, and was so pleased that I've gone on to buy many more colours! The one slight point of caution would be that the colours sometimes come out slightly different to the images, reading reviews on the Nailberry website helps

Bought the 'Touch of Powder' pale/french manicure colour after reading a recommendation about the brand by Sali Hughes in the Guardian and I'm not disappointed! The price is fairly high, but the bottle is big and the brush is really well designed, meaning there's no waste. It went on well, looks very natural and streak free & I hope that it's breath-ability does make a difference to my weak nails - we shall see!

18.7.2017

This nail varnish goes on really well and the colour is a lovely vibrant red. I love the idea that it's oxygenated, so better for your nails and that it's been tested ethically. It did chip quite quickly, so it probably needs the top coat but I didn't have the Nailberry one and, like another reviewer, there didn't seem much point wearing oxygenated nail varnish and then topping it with an ordinary top coat.
