It's early days yet, but I've been listening to the V90 DAC for the last day or so fairly solidly and I like what I'm hearing so far.I'm no great audiophile, so I'm not going to wax lyrically about airiness of sound stages or whether its bright, forward, or whatever. And anyway, my ageing ears probably can't tell the difference that much. And I'm using iTunes anyway!Setting all that aside, I like the simple clean aesthetic of the product - it is so much neater than the old V-DAC II that it's replacing, with all the cables now at the back - and I am already enjoying the sounds it makes. It sounds good across a broad range of musical styles and I gather that it will only improve as it burns in.I

I bought this little wonder to enable me to play Hi res audio files from imac and also from certain deluxe edition cds that i owned. Connected a toslink lead (with adaptor) to the headphone socket of the imac into the DAC and audio leads from DAC to amp. You will need to set up the audio output of the mac to 24/96 by using the Audio Midi (i think its called) which is found in applications - utilities. My 2008 imac will only cope with the 24/96 files rather than the 24/192`s. One point of note is that if you are able to use a 24/192 output from your computer you will need to connect to the PC by way of Asynchronous USB. The Optical and co-axial inputs only take up to 24/96 files.

I was slightly concerned when buying this, as it is plastered with Apple-like buzzwords and pointless features such as 32-bit 192khz upsampling (this feature does nothing bad nor good for the sound). The only reviews I could find were highly subjective and written by people who seem to think it is possible for a DAC to adjust sound signature. One review even noted that MF snuck in a tiny (+<1dB) gain, likely to try and fool subjective reviewers.But the fact of the matter is that nothing else matches its specs and inputs for the price, apart from the ODAC (if USB audio is an acceptable compromise to you). So I took a gamble, and it definitely paid off. Can't fault the sound,

I'm and audiofool from way back and have had my share of Dac's and I have to say that this is the most musical and detailed dac I have ever owned, if you pair it up with a good power supply I think you will be quite shocked at how good this unit really sounds .

I bought this with a view to making use of the USB connection for my PC. However, I've been bowled over by the improvement in the sound from my CD player - more open and detailed. Looks like I'll be using my CD player more.

Bought these to upsample mp3 and other music files on my PC which runs through hi-fi system. The difference in sound is unbelievable a truly fantastic product which has received very good reviews in various hifi mags

Just like all Musical Fidelity products, it is inherently musical. Put it with the V -PSU 2 and It's hard to tear yourself away from the music,. You'll want to hear every track you've got!
