I recommend this product. Good value for money, easy to use, build quality is superior. Cables supplied were plentiful. Battery life between charges is more than sufficient. I use it with an Apple iPhone whose battery life sucks. Its not feasible to carry a battery pack to drive both the FiiO and the iPhone, unless you fancy carrying the extra weight around. With this and a decent set of earphones, I get to appreciate sounds and songs that i have previously never heard in detail.Minor quibbles:- The OEM ( separately purchased) case to carry both this unit and an iPhone rather than use rubber bands was a disappointment.

This is a brilliant device, sound quality by far exeeds my dragonfly 1.2 when driving full sized headphones. I stacked the Q5 with the fiio E12 DIY which even enlarges soundstage and gives another punch. Built quality is superb. Great fun to listen at a budget! I have also experienced drop outs when connected to my iPhone via lightning but this only happens when connected via Bluetooth first. Remedy is to restart Q5 and not to switch on Bluetooth and connection via lightning stays stable.

Amazing set of features in a compact package, single ended and balanced headphone out, DSD support up to DSD256, good quality line out and a very useable high quality Bluetooth connection to receive signal. It is possible to get similar amp/DAC quality elsewhere if you don't need the portability and Bluetooth though.

The sound quality this puts out in wired mode is amazing. The bluetooth adds versatility, though sound output isn't quite as good as wired.
