During March, I was looking for a desktop set to replace my Logitech Cordless set. I'd had that set for approximately 6 months before it started playing up and becoming unresponsive. So I looked around and I found this great-looking desktop set. It's got all the features I need, including media keys, 5 self-set keys, along with a few usual ones that come with Microsoft keyboards.PROS:The transmitter for the set is smaller than that of a standard USB pen drive, making it very convinient. The mouse fits perfectly into your hand. The keyboard is comfort curved and has a comfortable hand rest. There seems to be no problem registering key strokes, unlike my Logitech.CONS:The shift key IS smaller than that shown on here. The image shown is the US keyboard. This makes it hard for most people. I, however, haven't had a problem after the first couple of weeks. The mouse is really sensitive at first until you get used to it. Also, Microsoft have been reluctant to change the scroll and as such, the scroll is smooth and doesn't rachet. If you've been using a racheting mouse, you will find it a lot harder to scroll. This makes it very sensitive and prone to sliding up and down when not wanted. The wrist rest is atrocious in the sense of getting dirty. While it feels nice, it's very hard to clean.OTHER:The multimedia buttons are also very sensitive. For instance, I was listening to a playlist and I hit the forward key once and it zoomed along 3 tracks. I've refined the art of pressing it very lightly now, so it's no problem, but it is rather annoying.

microsoft 6000 v3 keyboard + wireless Laser mouse 6000 v2Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 v3Having my sender unit pack up on my previous wireless set up (keytronic keyboard) as well as my trust mouse battery compartment held on with selotape. It was time for a replacement combi dsktop set. Although it is early days yet, I am very pleased with "its out of the box" set up. In fact there was no set up, apart from inserting the supplied batteries. My computer recognised everything and hey presto the mouse pointer was up and working. The only thing I did was to run the CD That came with it for my own reference. Before, purchasing, I read all reviews. Some were quite scathing and some excellent. Now this beggars the question? Do some people have this obvious dislike of anything with a microsoft name. A bit like people not subscribing to anything connected to Rupert Murdock. For my part, all my microsoft products have always been well made (although a bit costly at times). Having said that I still don't let Windows Update automatically update downloads.Back to the review: All the programmable keys ( that I use most) work well and are time saving.Soon got used to curved keyboard, and mouse although bigger is easy to manipulate. As at 04/03/2011 everything working beautifully. Will update this review IF this ceases to be the case. Normanch

Bought as a replacement for my 6000 v2 keyboard. More compact than v2 as the ancillary buttons are reduced in size, including the function keys. Ok once you get used to the new positions of the buttons. A shame Microsoft decided to replace the Function keys with the tiny buttons as they are now difficult to press without accidentally also touching a numeric key on the top row. Nice silent keys, with good touch. The mouse is very ergonomic, fits the hand (right only) at just the right angle. Provided your hand is placed correctly and fully onto the mouse it is very easy to lift, contrary to the comment by a previous reviewer.Although the USB receiver has to be plugged into the back of my PC which is under a wooden desk some three feet away I have no problems with drop-out. Perhaps if the desk were metal there might be a problem? The wrist-rest is now an integral part of the keyboard, so very stable.Aa couple of keys omitted (Forward and Gadgets) but replaced with questionable useful keys (Show Desktop and Windows Media Player-now playing). In summary, a great keyboard/mouse combination.

This is my first wireless keyboard / mouse and I can't really fault it - I have had it over a month and not found any reason to dislike it (batteries haven't died on me as yet). Theer are some things to get used to (caps lock on/off appears on screen when changing rather than there being a light on the keyboard.Seems OK with gaming, Mouse works a treat on my dark wood desk as it has the laser rather than LED - my previous optical mouse didn't like the desk and would not work most of thime time unless I put a mouse mat or papaer under it. The one issue is wheel is, there is no stepping on it, so certain games / applications it can be very sensitive, others very unresponsive.Seems well made /study and as I bought it for less than £40.00 very good. I would buy another one again when they are cheaper.

Works well. It has a nice feel for typing and the keyboard has plenty of customizable buttons. One small complaint. The F5 key is by defualt a programmed key so to refresh a web page you need to press the F lock key then F5 then to unlock go back to F Lock. This is tedious.Mouse works well but is not Microsoft's best so tracking won't work for example on glass and the connection is spotty if the USB transmitter is plugged into a USB 2.0 port. Software is good but Logitech is better.Price for product with on line discounts is very good and this makes this product attractive for its price.

I have been very pleased with this product. I was replacing an earlier Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse because the letters had worn off my keyboard. The earlier one used to drop out and miss letters - this one has never failed and the new wireless dongle is very convenient. The laser mouse is excellent and I found the shape easy to use. The extra features in both items have proved helpful and I do use them often. A good product at a good price.

Amazon had the best price when I bought the item. It needed special drivers from microsoft for windows 7. The supplied cd does not have the right drivers. However once installed the keyboard and mouse are really good quality and feel comforatble and intuitive. The quick keys are pre set up but can be customised. A great upgrade to arguably the most important part of your pc!

This combination is both comfortable and practical. The mouse is very ergonomicand the keyboard well laid out.At the moment I am using this on a laptop which saves me stretching in my armchair to reach the keyboard.Oh what a life!!

I am very please with the keyboard and mouse, the keyboard made life easier and found the mouse very good after i got use to it, the wheel is very sensitive, but on the whole i thought the set was worth it.

Took a little while to get used to the curve but wouldb't go back to a boring straight board now. Soft, resposive keys - good shortcuts.
