I read lots of reviews and followed some video reviews before purchasing this mouse, and I have to tell you that it was the best decision. As most of us, we've owned many mice throughout the years, now when choosing a new mouse, it can be a pain! There were many things I was considering before choosing the right one. First of all, replacing my old Microsoft Presenter Mouse 8000, yes almost 9 years old. So as you'd think any mouse would do, but I narrowed down into the things I needed: 1) Mobility, being able to use it both work, home and bring it with me while traveling, so Wireless was the main category. 2) Bluetooth since I'm very bad with small parts, which I'd lose eventually with a regular Wireless mouse.3) Back and forward buttons for website surfing, that was already on my old mouse so that was a must!. 4) Customizable buttons, which also you can cover with many mice today so easy to find. 5) Lastly, quality. Now, I chose this one for the above reasons, particularly the price, a good Bluetooth mouse below £30 was a definite win, particularly when looking at Logitech, which don't get me wrong, they are totally worth the cost, but I had a nice Microsoft mouse that lasted nearly 10 years of my use, which still works! So I can claim that Microsoft peripherals can take the use and abuse for the average consumer (at least on my book). So let's focus on the features:- Bluetooth, pretty straight forward, it has a Bluetooth button the bottom that will enable the discovery.- It comes with the regular buttons, left click, right click, centre wheel scroll has 4 ways and the side button which is also has a touch feature, which I'll get to it shortly.- There's a led that's near the battery compartment that lights up when being discovered by your computer and when you turn on the mouse while reconnecting.- The battery compartment opens near the led I mentioned above, and it's just a push button and the cover lifts to fit 2xAA batteries (Batteries included!).- The laser track is a blue laser, which is Microsoft proprietary which they claim to be highly precise, which I can confirm to be very accurate on most surfaces, though I must say that other than a plain surface it's not that accurate (aka, skin, blue-jeans, etc), come on you have to test everything right?- The mouse surface is glossy black, something that I don't enjoy much, it's like a Piano Black as in a PlayStation PSP or such, which of course you can notice that it's been held or used like on the first click. But, if you're not staring at it all the time, it's ok I guess, I would have preferred something Matte.- Mouse is actually very ergonomic, more than your average mouse, since it has a side sculpt that fits your thumb and it's a nice rubber matte surface for a change (would have hopped that the whole mouse had this kind of surface not the glossy black.- The side touch button is pretty cool, though a bit thin which unsure if it would last years of usage and I'm sure it will turn darker after serious usage, but the overall experience is cool, you can swipe up or down with your thumb and it's Haptic-response touch whenever you swipe up or down which is cool, though you have to get use to the sensibility.- Quality overall seems great, the button experience is great as it's very soft and responsive, the scroll is very nice as it will scroll very smooth though long websites and documents as well as when clicking the wheel to the sides, since it scrolls sideways through spreadsheets and websites (though it's the only feature you cannot reconfigure as such). When you configure the mouse, it comes with the default behaviour in terms of the buttons, when you click the side button it will bring the windows start menu, down and up will go back and forward on websites, etc. However, you can download it's own application to customize buttons and also their interaction with application like Office, Windows Explorer and so on.To recap, evaluate your needs and preferences before choosing a mouse as you most likely be stuck with it for a few years at least.

Brought this from Staples rather than Amazon as I wanted to try some different mice before making a decision. I'd read the review and seen the price and Staples was actually cheaper. Got it home, turned on the motherboard's inbuilt Bluetooth and loaded Windows 10 which found the adapter and shortly after the mouse was paired. It worked okay, but after a while noticed the jerky movement that other W10 users had mentioned. I decided that I'd keep the mouse and brought a Bluetooth adapted for our Windows 8 PC. Before setting it up, decided I try the new Bluetooth adapted with the mouse on the Windows 10 machine and it works perfectly! The mouse is almost perfect and far superior to a lot of the rubbish that seems to be for sale for 2 or 3 times the price.Working from home developing software my mouse gets used 8hrs+ day and needs to make life easy as well as be comfortable to use. Previously, I had the MS3000 combo set which has a fantastic mouse. This one is better:1. It still has that excellent blue light optics which works great on most surfaces.2. The scroll wheel appears to be a solid piece of rubber - rather than a band on the 3000 which broke :-(3. It uses touch technology on the Windows Button which I've assigned to handle back and forth browsing in applicationsThe touch technology is fantastic. Just rub your thumb up or down to trigger two more customisable mouse actions.4. The scroll wheel acts a middle click (or other choice) as well as vertical and horizontal scroll.5. The windows button access the windows menu.6. With the new Bluetooth adapter it is very smooth and very responsive and moving around multiple monitors is easy.7. It has smooth rubber grips. The 3000 has a more comfortable pocked rubber but this made it impossible to keep clean.8. The Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse Centre software allows you to customise a range of functionality.9. It's solid and well built. The only annoyance about the device is that the Windows Button doesn't seem customisable. I haven't used the Start button in years preferring third party launchers instead and this makes that button a little wasted. I quite like the start menu tiles (news, weather, wiki) so maybe it'll grow on me.Anyway, having promised the owner of the W8 machine the mouse, we'll now be buying another one these - well worth money to upgrade even if your mouse is still alive and kicking. The new Bluetooth adapter came form PCWorld - Asus USB BT400

Laptops and often desktop computers come with both Bluetooth and WiFi wireless adaptors built into them so it really annoys me that manufacturers of wireless mice and keyboards often insist on supplying a USB dongle that creates a bespoke wireless connection in addition to those connections already available. This mouse, however, uses Bluetooth to connect to your computer which means the mouse does not waste a USB port on your machine and it is not possible to take your mouse out with you and find it is useless because you've left the dongle in another machine.I have found the Bluetooth connection easy to set up and totally reliable. The information claims the mouse works with Windows 7,Windows 8, Mac OSX and Chromebooks. I can vouch for Windows 7 and Chromebooks. The only negative is that the mouse has fairly primitive Bluetooth firmware and can only remember one machine at a time, so if you want to switch between machines regularly you may want to opt for a mouse that remembers multiple pairings. The mouse uses Bluetrack technology (a blue light rather than the red light you used to get on optical mice) which claims to work on more surfaces and so far the only surface I have found that it struggled with was a frosted glass table. The mouse works perfectly on all other surfaces I have used it on. If you don't use it for a while it appears to go into a power saving mode so when you start again there is a brief lag while it wakes up. I've been using the mouse fairly intensively for over a month and it is still on its first set of batteries so battery life seems reasonably good. It has a hardware on/off switch to save power when not in use for a longer period. The mouse is comfortable in the hand for extended periods of use so I would recommend it to anyone who wants a fullsize wireless mouse.

I've had this mouse for over 4 years now and it still ranks as one of my most favourite and best purchases ever. When reading this review please bear in mind that the product specs may have changed in the intervening years.Feel: The mouse glides nicely over most surfaces with just the right amount of friction and very little noise.Weight: The weighting it great. The mouse feels solid but isn't too heavyComfort: The size and shape of the mouse is perfect for my average size man hands. I'd tried a couple of other portable mice and found them to be too small and gave me cramp after a couple of hours use. This mouse by contrast has been nothing but comfortable since day 1.Durability: I have pampered my mouse.I bought a case for it not long after purchase to protect it when travelling. It should be noted that the mouse picks up very little dirt from either the desk or my hand. Most mice seem to develop a build up of grime around the glide pads. For some reason this mouse doesn't. After 4 years of near daily use it still looks brand new and I have unusually hot and sweaty hands.Connectivity: It's been brilliant on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and now 10. I've also used it on various Linux distros without any problems.Mouse Functions: The accuracy, left/right buttons and scroll wheel all feel great. The scrolling action is solid and quiet with a definite notch but light enough for fast scrolling. The customisable windows button is great and the vibration feedback is a nice addition.Overall, if I had to buy another mouse it would be this one without a moments hesitation. For those interested, this is the case I use for the mouse. Its a perfect fit:https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001LGZDXQ

Found this keyboard (without mouse) a little bit more than a year ago for 15 quid new (US import), so not thinking much bought two of them straight away (for home & work - I'm programmer and tend to use same shape keyboard everywhere). After a year of heavy use what I can tell is that it is a good piece of equipment. I intended to use it for a week or two just to see if it could replace my old Logitech Wave which was absolutely stunning, super comfortable and survived almost 8 years (and still works). And surprise surprise it did the job well, but...Well, this Microsoft keyboard won't last as long. It is comfortable, not loud, with good response to key press but out of 2 that I own one already had windows key stopped working and both have signs of use and "shiny" spacebars. It's almost like M$ used "softer" plastic for keys than it should.Battery wise it is very efficient if you put in quality batteries or rechargeable ni-mh. I could get almost half year use on good batteries which with my usage is really good.Don't get me wrong. If you just look for a comfortable keyboard for everyday use - this is it. If you use keyboard as heavily as myself then don't expect it to survive more than 2 years.Would I recommend it? Yes.Would I buy it again? For 15 quid that I initially paid - yes. Can't say anything about the mouse but it doesn't look like something I would like to work with for hours.

Great set. Very comfortable and ergonomic. I work 8-12 hours ad day on it. Batteries last ages. Mouse controls are smooth and responsive. I do not feel any pain even after long sessions without a break. It has a button on a side to open start menu that works great with Windows 10. Keyboard is designed to be ergonomic but not in the way most of them are. If you use standard keyboard this one will suits you perfectly and there is no need to adjust your hands same as with keyboards that have keys "break" in the middle of keyboard. I personally cannot work on those and find this Microsoft one very good. There is an indicator of batteries low (that i did not see ON as of yet)as well a a manual switch to choose the action of function keys (to work as multimedia controls or standard function keys. the keys layout is the UK one and keys are very smooth and quiet in operation. It comes with a padded arm wrest that can be detached. Its of a very good quality and has a nice feel when you put your palms on it. it works well when typing too. If you work a lot with computers get one and you will not regret. Price tag is quite good as well. Last but not least it looks stylish and premium.

I thought that I would update my review having used the mouse for rather longer. I can only add that I wish I had found this little beauty out a long time ago for it would have saved me messing around and shelling out on lesser mice seemingly endlessly. This has become my favourite mouse. Why? Its size and shape make it so comfortable to use and the Bluetooth connection is rock solid. It really is a super mouse. It won't disappoint or let you down. Design wise it looks the part, too, with its blue "go faster" stripes!!Original review:I bought this to replace a much smaller HP Z5000 mouse that I found too small and sharp edged for my large hands. This one is not as svelte looking as the HP mouse but is almost £20.00 cheaper and,for me, much more comfortable. It's an attractive, comfortable and very effective mouse. The Bluetooth connect has, so fa, been rock solid. Well done Microsoft for designing a good value, well designed mouse. I'm using it with Windows 10 and it works really well.

Fantastic bit of kit. Having spent a lot on mice over the years (was and and still am an avid gamer) I always had my reservations about wireless mice. There was always some sort of delay, batteries would last about a week and as with most things, whether the price is high or low you can never the quality of something without actually getting to use it.Having a wired mouse at work was starting to become a pain with the wire trailing over the desk (I hate wires getting caught so tend to have the slack on the desk) so decided to take the plunge. With it being Microsoft too, what could go wrong?I have medium sized hands and it fits well. You can grip the mouse easily and it's very accurate.I can still notice a very small amount of delay but for work related stuff it's not much of an issue. Batteries are easy to get to and replace if needs be. Weight is nice, not too heavy yet not light either.

Since I had my first laptop with built-in bluetooth, I have used BT mice so I would not have to care about a separate receiver (although those are pretty miniaturised, it is still annoying to have one, when there is a good alternative).I bought this mouse as a replacement for an older one and what can I say, it does what it should do. It tracks precisely on the usual desk surfaces (I do not use mousepads), the battery life is good, the clicking sounds are not too loud, the look and feel fits the price. The mouse wheel feels robust, the blue touchpad feature is nice to have but not really necessary in my opinion (I do not use Win 8, though). To sum up, it does what it should do,is not overpriced and I haven't found anything annoying. I do not give it 5 stars because those are reserved for things that positively surprise me.

I've had this keyboard for a couple months now. I do like it but I do have some niggles, 1) the wrist rest (which is very comfortable) is held on with a sliding catch with no locking mechanism which means that every now and again I have to re-attach the rest and slide the lock in place. No major biggie it just always happens when I'm in the middle of something. 2) The mouse is good, but you need the software installed to make full use of it. Also, its not always reliable (at least on Windows 7, in my experience). For example, I have the touch / gesture setting to go back and forward in a browser but often will open up the Aero Flip in windows.Otherwise, great to use, comfortable and the battery's last a good while.not replaced them as of yet.

I bought this keyboard mostly because it would fit into my new keyboard manager/drawer. It was critical that I could remove the wrist rest as there is already one integral to my keyboard manager.I love this new keyboard.I get RSI and previously used a Microsoft 4000 ergonomic keyboard. I touch type and the keys feel more naturally arrayed for my hands without the gap in the middle that can be disconcerting initally on the 4000. The key return is light and smooth and the keys all feel easily reachable for my smaller hands. So far, after a couple of days' use, the RSI seems to be calming down again. It's my first wireless set and that is all working smoothly as well.I'd really recommend giving this keyboard a try.

Really comfy, and perfect size for small/ medium hands. The Windows button on the side is totally pointless, as if your using the mouse why do you need a shortcut to open the start menu? But it it possible to customise it to be something else, so not a problem :)It took me a few weeks before I noticed that the blue side panel is also touch sensetive, swiping down navigates back in your browser, where as swiping up is forward. Would be a really nice feature if it were a little more accurate. Instead I disabled this, and configured the Windows button to be a Back button instead.Good scrolling, and mouse buttons feel niceDoesn't work on some shiny surfaces like plastic mouse pads.

I am always searching for the ideal mouse, and I have to say that this is my favorite mouse so far. I have completely switched to bluetooth so as not to have to deal with wires and extra bits, and have never looked back. It fits my (large) hand perfectly, has a nice mass to it, and works very well. I have never been attracted by multiple button mice; I usually only employ the basic functions, but it is nice to be able to bring up the start screen with the blue button. The additional blue button function of cycling through open tabs only seems to work swiping down, but that could be how I set it up.

29.7.2015

Good product, comfy and works well with Win8 - only two things I have with my particular keyboard is the 1! key is hard and needs an extra strong push, also my shift seems a little sticky when typing fast. I use this in the office and I've learned to get around that. It's comfy and a few months in, battery is still strong (I don't remove them overnight or turn the set off). With the mouse I find the touch/thumb pad works well, with nice adjustable tactile feedback, but it's not a natural movement, nor can I seem to remember to make it intentionally.

15.12.2015

The best mouse I have ever used (although I haven't bothered to learn all the fancy functions). Its really good with a laptop because you don't need a USB dongle. Although its more expensive than other mice it works on almost any surface including my knee whilst on a train. Unlike one of the reviews I read I have had no problems with the Bluetooth link to a laptop. I have been using it with a Microsoft Surface 2 and even though I have just upgraded to a Surface 3 with the brilliant Microsoft Pen I still carry my mouse with me.
