You can get the same thing cheaper but you only ever need buy this once and the Metabones looks and feels like real quality - it is 'Simply The Best.' Why spend extra on the 'Nikon - G' version? Because you can mount any of your Nikkors (not just the ones with aperture rings) and that's well worth the extra £20 over the plain Nikon F-Mount version. I've got the Nikkor 35mm f1.8G which makes a brilliant sharp, fast, colourful 52mm equivalent when mounted on the metabones. The 85mm f1.8 and f1.4G lenses and a bunch of other great Nikkors have no aperture ring so even if you don't own them now, you may as well future-proof yourself for £20.There's a case to be made for discontinuing the F-mount
