Having been shopping around for a new coffee machine for some time, I decided to finally go with the Melitta over the Jura and Miele machines and save myself £1000+.My old machine was a Nespresso Gran Maestria which served me well, but the amount of waste produced and the fact that all the different types taste very similar, has made me reconsider pod coffee. The packaging is suitably premium with everything included like milk carafe, water filter, milk system cleaner, and a descaling tablet. The machine itself is nicely made, and even in black looks quite large (two shoeboxes or a mini ATX pc case)The most important things for me are quality of drinks, ease of maintenance, range of drinks, and technology. The Melitta definitely delivers a great, feature-packed performance for the relatively small price and the milk system cleans the pipe straight into the drip tray after every drink automatically, which is a big advantage over Jura as running costs are lower and it’s more convenient. The Bluetooth works fine on iOS but the range of about 6m and the fact that you can’t turn on or off the machine using it, makes it more of a curiosity than a daily tool unless you’re busy doing something else in the kitchen. Let’s just call that a security feature...WiFi connection and Smart home integration would be nice. The coffee is very well made with good Crema (the water filter helps here) and the dual bean hopper gives you lots of options, though reduced hopper size per bean. There are plenty of settings to play with for flavour, changing the amount of coffee, milk and water dispensed, coffee temperature and brew time/strength amongst others. It seems to be capable of making every drink I can think of apart from a Cortado, though you could program a recipe for it using the app if you wanted. It even prepares the drink in the correct order and can therefore differentiate between a long black and an Americano which appeals to my inner coffee geek.I had some concerns on the milk temperature, especially as you can’t set it as you can on dual boiler machines (Jura Z8, Oracle Touch) For the majority of drinks, setting drink temperature to ‘hot’ is sufficient apart from with a latte macchiato, which is still acceptable to me in terms of temp. The foam quality is good though, with nicely textured milk and not too many large bubbles. On a par with Jura and Miele I would say.Overall, for a fully automatic bean-to-cup One-touch, and compared to both manual or Pod machines, the resulting drinks are extremely impressive, and look full bodied, not anaemic, watery or compromised, and at this price it makes drinks as well as machines costing twice as much. I would therefore recommend it, especially if you are looking to cut down the amount of waste generated in your house by using Nespresso capsules and miss the taste of real freshly ground and brewed coffee.

This is not my first Bean to Cup Machine and in the last years I mainly used a Nespresso Latissima which now became quite dated and faulty, so I got this one when it was on sale and it is one of the expensive buys I do not regret a bit.The coffee tastes amazing and the milk froth and crema it creates is outstanding for a home machine. Before I purchased it a read a lot of reviews about it and some are mentioning that it does not make hot coffee, well this is true in standard-setting but you can set it to a hotter temperature that solves this problem easily. Most important for me was the taste and with the right coffee beans, you get a really good result and a nearly perfect latte,as perfect as it can get at home I think. The important part for the taste is the right coffee beans, not every coffee is suitable for such machines so a bit trial and error is needed to get an amazing taste out of this best, I personally use coffee beans from insomnia coffee shops, which taste on this machine nearly as good as on the highly professional ones in their shops. But the Melitta does not only for me a good job, we also use it for the Mocca from my wife and the hot chocolate for our little one and it is just super easy to use and also super easy to clean as it basically cleans itself, especially after you use milk.If you although only buy it because it is smart, then don't, while the app is quite decent, it only connects via Bluetooth, and that lasts around 5 meters, while BT standard is usually at least 10 and the app disconnects quite frequently. It is sad to see that Melitta has not gone for a wifi connection and maybe also provide an Alexa skill, this would have made this machine really smart and not pseudo smart.I do like though very much the possibility to create own recipes, so we can have both a latte programmed with different strength and volume which is super handy. All in all this Melitta is one of the best coffee machines I have ever used and we really enjoy it a lot!My Pros:- on sale a really good price for such a high-quality machine- high-quality material- tons of features- can make all kinds of different coffee, hot milk, and water- easy to clean- very good readable display- takes amount adjustments ( milk, coffee ) on the fly during the process- option to set up own recipes- 2 different bean containers and 1 for ground coffee- easy to disconnect milk container for keeping it refrigeratedMy Cons:- Machine is huge, takes nearly the whole depth of a kitchen worktop- Smart function could be improved by a lot- short-range of Bluetooth- needs some adjustments in settings to get hot coffee, milk- bean container lid is weird to close with the rubber lipAll in all I purchased it with a price of 750£ and it is definitely worth the price and I would highly recommend it if you a coffee lover like me.

Firstly, forget about the Bluetooth connectivity as this is an unreliable gimmick, but the Melitta App is highly useful for the maintenance and cleaning of the machine. Each part of the cleaning process is explained in the simplest way, a must have if trying to see the instructions on the machines screen is hard for you.Ok, on to the machine itself.Unpacking the machine is easy enough, but you do need to read the instructions carefully to ensure you have the hardness of your water and other information as and when needed. On first use I did an extra 2 coffees to flush the machine before actually drinking what it makes to ensure that it is only coffee you’ll be drinking and not lubricants. For drink preparation the machine can make 4 coffee variations from the front panel, but there are many more available from the menu system on the machine. The ability to save your favourites by person is useful to a certain extent and is extensive in the options for each coffee type but is limited to 1 setting per person per coffee option. To use a mycoffee option, you first press the mycoffee icon then select cappuccino or latte and the machine starts straight away. I mostly use this due to a set coffee cup size and bean settings for latte and cappuccinos. The grinder is not silent but it is quiet enough not to be annoying, the bean hoppers hold enough for 15 - 20 cups in a single coffee dose setting and the machine is conservative in warning you about the hopper being empty and on swapping brands or strengths you do get a mix of beans for a couple of cups.As far as cleaning, the machine rinses itself on startup and shutdown and after each brew it asks to easy clean which sterilises the milk tube and milk system. The biggest thing that you do need to do every day is to empty the drip tray, I find this fills up after only a few cups have been made, else water will spill over and onto your counter top.For the cleaning of the machine and brew components it is easy to do and I do it every 10 to 12 days, it says a weeks interval but the machine doesn’t get that dirty inside. My conclusion with owning the Melitta Barista TS Smart is that if coffee is an important treat that you want to enjoy at home, this is the Bean to Cup machine for you. I am very pleased with the speed of warm up to coffee production is mere seconds and the taste of the coffee it produces. The coffee is hot enough to drink shortly after being made but hot enough not to go cold straight away. The cost and maintenance needed to actually own one of these machines should be considered, as pod machines can give close to bean to cup performance as a better price point. But this machine is a good balance of value for money and the production of great coffee at home.

I don’t normally go to the effort of writing reviews but I live this machine. We purchased an extra milk container - they are reasonably priced and it made sense as most of the family drink regular milk but I am lactose intolerant so we can keep it separate. We use the 1st beans container for caffeinated beans and the second for decaf beans. You can programme your favourite coffee on the app or directly to the machine - including temperature. We didn’t enjoy our first few coffees but it was all down to the beans. We use lavazza beans and lavazza dek for the decaf beans - both available on Amazon. We have never looked back since. We definitely now enjoy more decaf coffee in the afternoon than weever did before! My recommendation would be to keep a small jug under the machine for the cleaning cycle and to clean once you have finished making the batch of coffee rather than after every cup. The tray constantly needs emptied and something always needs cleaned or descaled but this is my only criticism.

Couldn’t get easier than this!!A month in and I am astounded at the difference between our last machine and this one using the same beans - the coffee this machine makes is spectacularly good and the options and types of coffees to choose from are endless (particularly through the app) though the basic options are what we use the most. One of the most convenient things about the machine is that we could configure a specific drink (I enjoy flat whites) in terms of mug size and temperature (amongst an array of other options) and store it as a custom / default so no fiddling with top ups to get the mug full - just perfect!!!The machine uses quite a lot of water for the self cleaning routines but I don’t mind because I prefer the machine to self clean & sterilise (does so with hot steam)to the extent that it does. One of the best buys I’ve ever made from amazon. Couldn’t be more chuffed.

I have had the coffee machine for a few months. It does produce good coffee out of the box. However it’s takes a little time but by playing with the settings it does produce a very good cup of coffee. One thing that has been said it is not very hot, that is correct it is considered cooler than from a kettle but if I remember correctly the water temperature is supposed to be 78 degrees. The temperature can be set higher in the programming however for some people it still would not be hot enough. I do from time to time put it in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. It has a smaller than average water/grinds tray but it is designed to be emptied regularly to stop mould growing, thus keeping the taste fresh.Overall it is a very good coffee machine better taste by far than the Delonghi I had before..Worth to investment-to date I have made 254 coffees and still nice quaility...

Bought a machine back in June and it’s just awesome, great coffee, hot and works a treat. Love the app once you get it all paired up with the machine, it makes setting up your own coffee recipes a doddle.Read a lot of issues online regarding a few bugs but either been fortunate or they have worked through the issues. No problems with cold coffee or steam setting off other programs.Cleaning is a necessity as you would expect and the programs make it easy, though the Melitta cleaning products are on the expensive side so bought in bulk to bring the cost down a bit.Big Love Melitta, overall a fantastic product!

I chose this as it has 2 bins. we use 1 for decaf. Incredibly versatile and if you have a spare week or so I recon you could learn to use all the features. Actually we manually choose strength, size of cup and which bin and its made. We could commit this to memory but its so easy we have got used to it. its quite large but if it was smaller I suppose I would moan about always filling it up. We are delighted with it and have now become used to being coffee geeks.

Coffee is superb, however some of the parts cleaning can be a bit fiddly, although the auto clean function after making the drinks is good. The app is easy to use, shame it keeps disconnecting from Bluetooth when you leave the house. It doesn’t auto connect again. The app is easier than than buttons on the machines if you want anything other than the standard sized beverages. Using the one machine buttons to program a recipe is a faff. App much easier.

I had been looking for a new coffee machine for several months and then came across this one. I reach all the reviews, watched load of videos and then ordered it.I can honestly say, its the most incredible coffee machine we have owned, and look forward coffee time so that I can continue drinking amazing coffee it makes.Without a doubt I would recommend this coffee machine to anyone who are looking to replace theirs.

The machine is easy to use and maintain on a daily basis, and produces good coffee. I've been using it for 4 months now and I'm still very happy with the purchase. The only negative comment I have is that the phone app (which basically offers the same functions as the machine itself, but in a more user-friendly way) has difficulties connecting over Bluetooth - it takes a couple of tries before it starts working.

9.2.2019

After 3 months of use I am really impressed with this machine, it's easy to clean and has an amazing amount of settings and functions that you can customise. The mobile App is slightly under developed and needs more work from Melitta however I've hardly used it, once you setup your recipes on the main touch screen you're good to go. Highly recommend and wouldn't look at another brand. Worth the investment.

16.12.2019

Easy to clean, but needs cleaned a lot. Experiment with the coffee “length” to get the most from your beans. The grinder grade can be adjusted to a course or finer setting.Grinder quite noisy and sometimes needs a helping handWorks best from the app.Coffee temp is good with the right settings. Coffee is only as good as the beans you buyNot found a latte glass to fit, yet

Since this is a bean to cup coffee machine, it does not generate plastic waste. It makes excellent coffee and is very versatile. It can deliver hot milk or hot frothy milk. Its default recipes can be modified to suit your own tastes which means that it is easy to get a great cup even when you are not fully awake in the morning.

We love the arrangement for having two different sorts of beans. I use decaffeinated beans while my husband prefers normal beans and so we can both use the machine at the same time. It was very easy to set up. We haven't used the Bluetooth technology as we don't need it. It is very stylish, quiet and makes fantastic coffee.
