This game pad feels comfortable, nice to hold with responsive controls, almost exactly like an xbox gamepad and similar to the ps pads, yet is hampered by a latency of response because of slow operating Bluetooth. My wireless router operates around the same wireless frequency, but seems to always mean Bluetooth is slow in my house, so I cannot really say if this would be a problem for everyone for Bluetooth in general, or if it is just a problem with our home set up. Its functionality with a pc is shockingly bad and very few games seem to support the concept of gamepad use for pc's, so it is not worth buying for that and my son tried it with his galaxy tablet and found that not many games supported it on that either,at least not the ones he was playing. I tried it on my mobile phone with the included phone holder, and it worked but nothing I played was supported by it, and so it goes on that I am not really sure what games it would support on these devices. However, the redeeming feature seems to be that my son then decided to try it via the PlayStation 3 and it works perfectly for any of the games he has played on there, so basically he has now got an extra PlayStation controller (not sure if this means it will work on the xbox as well, as we haven't tried it), and it is about on par for price with a normal ps controller. So, whilst I can categorically state that it works as a controller, there is not a great deal of choice for games to use it with across all platforms, which makes it a bit of a pricey buy, if you are not sure the games will support it on your other devices. So if you want to use a controller, make sure the game you want to play with it supports the use of a game pad and if it does then this would be ideal. I think the fairest thing to say is that the gamepad itself is fine, but the choices for use aren't so good across all the devices.

This is an excellent android compatible Gamepad with a layout and design quite blatantly 'borrowed' from the superb 360 controller.Although it was designed to be used with Mad Catz's own M.O.J.O. android console, it works via standard bluetooth and i have had no problem syncing with both my Tesco Hudl2 and my Minix Neo X7 media player. I have mainly been using this on emulators which takes a little bit of fiddling depending on which emulator you are using. It doesn't appear to be 100% compatible with all android games but again this will depend on how configurable each game is.The main reason i chose this over cheaper controller is the very handy mouse feature.Using a slide switch at the bottom you can use the controller to emulate a mouse which i found very useful, especially on touch screen apps on the minix. There is also a row of media buttons with pause rewind etc but i haven't had much use for them on any apps I'm using. There are only a couple of minor niggles I have with this controller, the buttons felt very 'clicky' for the first couple of weeks of use, though they seem to have bedded in now, they still don't feel as comfortable as gamepads from Microsoft or Sony (but still leagues ahead of some of Mad Catz's earlier console controllers) I would also rather have had a built in rechargeable battery than running off AAA's but they do seem to last quite well.It also includes an adjustable clip so you can attach your phone to the top and use at as a portable, I only tested this once as it wasn't the reason i bought this but it did work ok. So there's a lot of excellent features here which justifies the higher price tag compared to some other android gamepads. Recommended.

I’m not a gamer, and never have been, nor do I own an android, so the review is from my son, an avid gamer (and also a product manager in the mobile sector, which means that he’s bench tested a wide variety of mobile accessories), with an additional comment by my grandson.“I tested some virtual gamepads as part of my job four to five years ago – this is better than any of them. This gamepad is an ingenious way to make a mobile phone game feel more like a console experience, offering an almost XBox style control experience. The adjustable handset holder fitted both Android phones I own, offering a snug fit and reassuring me that my £500 phone was not going to fall out when a game got frantic. However in use I found approx 20% of games would not recognise the controller, making my character jump when I wanted to perform another action. Some games had a delayed input which was sometimes frustrating. However there were no latency issues, which is a big plus.Overall it has a great build quality and is very easy to use; it enabled me to complete some games where using on-screen controls usually meant some levels were impassable. My son tried it out briefly, but as a hardcore Xbox gamer he isn’t really interested in phone games; he felt that this gamepad offered only marginal improvement, and I suspect he'd feel the same way about any comparable device. I can see where he's coming from. The battery life is supposed to be 40 hrs, but I found I had to change the batteries after 15-20 hours' use."

Brilliant controller for the price !!!!!!Forget the negative reviews now because the new firmware update fixes all the issues such as analogue dead zones etc.Bought this controller because I wanted something that was Bluetooth to connect to my windows 10 tablet (Tablet has no full size USB port).Didn't want the hassle of a wireless dongle or that monster Microsoft wireless receiver hanging out of my pc either. What can I say, works absolutely fantastic. First thing is to update the firmware on the controller so it supports Xbox compatibility on the pc using the Xinput format. Then install the drivers and software from the Mad Catz website and your good to go.Works brilliant in mouse mode tooboth on Windows and Android.Works brilliant on Android for games.I do not have a Mac or iOS device so I cannot comment on this but overall a brilliant controller. You can also map keyboard button to the controller on the PC as well which is brilliant. The only thing that lets this controller down is the lack of a rechargeable battery !!! (Take note Mad Catz). If it had this it would be the perfect controller.

I haven't used this with my PC as I usually prefer keyboard and mouse and, where a gamepad is preferable, I have an XBox controller, which usually doesn't need customised. So, I've been using it with Android devices.Connection via Bluetooth is straightforward and you're pretty much ready to go from there. It seems better configured for some games than others and, I have to confess, some of the button combos (and changing them) isn't always totally great. However, when you are up and running, it does improve the experience of a lot of games. I have found this to be the case with ports of old console games (R-Type and the FF games, especially). I've read it's better with emulaters, too,but haven't had a chance to test that yet.The controller itself is solid and well-built (although you do look a bit silly clamping your mobile to the top of it!)Good, if slightly pricey, product.

Works great with my Lenovo Yoga tablet. Paired easily (held the center clear button until it flashed alternating blue & red, then searched for devices from the tablet, it showed up in the list, selected it, and connected).Have been using it with SNES9x (a SNES emulator) to play classic SNES games - it's worked brilliantly for that. Haven't tried other games with it yet as I don't have any other games installed where a control pad would make sense, but will try to test it with some other games too.Device-wise, it feels well made and solid, and is chunky and easy to hold. I didn't use the clamp on the back which can be used to attach a phone as I was playing with a tablet on its stand, but it's a useful option to have if you want to use it to play games on your phone (although depending on the size and weight of your phone, I could see it being a bit unwieldy).

This is a solid controller that enables you to connect via Bluetooth to a tablet or phone. I haven't tried it on a laptop yet.If your tablet can connect to the tv via an HTMI cable then you can play your games through the TV.The controller had an additional ability to connect a phone directly to the device via a expandable clamp. This clamp stretches to fit a galaxy note 2.I tried the controller on a few games and found it responsive and well built.Personally I find some games like dead trigger are best played by me on the tablet or phone using the touchscreen. I'm not a big gamer, so I've yet to find a game where the controller is preferable to the touchscreen. However,I'm very happy to have the choice of controller or screen. The controller also gives you an ability to move the cursor around the screen like a mouse.

My son was very impressed with this pad's similarities to an XBox controller, and I like the buttons and sticks - they feel very solid and don't click or get in the way of immersion in a game. The battery lasts for at least 40 hours; I suspect that is slightly longer because the box was originally printed with '60 hours' as the expected span - it has been covered with a sticker to amend the figures. The Bluetooth works smoothly. My son uses this to play a few games, but he hasn't been using it for Minecraft which is his main game. I shall update this as we use it for different functions.I'm pleased with the build quality and functionality of this device, and my 11 year old was able to set up and use it without needing any help from me. For games where fingers get in the way, it's invaluable.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this little gizmo. I was unsure of how effective a device like this would be, especially connected by bluetooth. I am pleased to say that I was altogether very happy with it.This controller can be used both with a PC, and with a smartphone. I haven't used it with my PC, as I already have an Xbox pad connected. However, I did give it a whirl with my phone. The first thing you notice is how solid it feels. It has a nice weight to it, and the phone mount, although very simple, also feels very sturdy. Connecting it via bluetooth was simple, and it seems to work pretty solidly without much latency. I'm naturally a PC gamer so I don't play too much on my phone, but when I do, this gamepad is a great addition.

I think it's better for some people to get the app of mad catz (for Android it's mad catz S.R.F.R and iOS is A.P.P) to see which game is compatible to the controller before buying it. I only have a problem with dead trigger. Sometimes when I'm moving it doesn't want to or totally doesn't do what you want. Other games are okay tho. I can also play with it on pc games without getting something installés and this is so great. But just in case you want to know, Windows apps and games (from the Windows store)on pc are not compatible with the controller. Only games you buy yourself like Need For Speed or Battlefront etc..

This is a very handy, solid gamepad, ergonomically well designed and you feel comfortable with it straightaway. Not all games support this unit so make sure the ones you want to play do, and it only works on android smartphones, not iphones. If you have compatibility though, this is an excellent way to use your phone as a games console. Bluetooth is also easy to set up too and it works well as a conventional gamepad on the pc. Great bit of kit all round if you want flexibility over when and where you play your games.

This works wonderfully with emulators, definitely check the list before buying though. This device synchs easily with easy instructions. It works flawlessly with no delay in touch to response. The flap that holds the phone in place is nifty and secure. This works on android, NOT IPHONES, check capabilities first! This little nifty bit of kit turns your phone into a games console and is most definitely a must for all nerds who like a bit of arcade gaming. Thumbs up,!

however it didn't work straight way. I had to download the latest driver for my Mac Yosemite version. Not only that, when I click the software icons it shows a constant message asking to provide access permission even though it was granted. So I had to get inside the Mac bundle to run the executable which worked fine for me. I know this is something to do Apple update to Yosemite it is not fully backward compatible for many software so can't blame for it.

I've been using this with my Samsung Galaxy S4 and it really has transformed the device in to a proper gaming device - to the extent I am selling my Nintendo 3DS. The controller syncs easily with the phone and is virtually identical to the Xbox 360 controller in terms of feel and layout, obviously with the added weight of the device if you decide to use the bracket which attaches. No longer do you have to struggle with awful onscreen controls! b

Very robust gamepad. Looks really nice. D-pad is a little bit hard so you'll need a strong thumb. The smartphone holder is the best I've seen on this kind of gamepad. Never crashed although sometimes the home button seems unresponsive and you have to adjust the direction in which you are pressing it.I recommend this product, it's best gamepad you can have for this price.
