YES, IT SORT OF DOES.IT HAS BEEN ON ORIGIANL RELEASE FOR QUITE A WHILE NOW AND IT WAS SO POPULAR THE XBOX PEOPLE DECIDED TO RE-RELEASE IT IN THE CLASSIC RANGE. IT WAS POPULAR BECAUSE OF THE FILMS, I THINK ANYWAY, BUT WHEN THE XBOX OWNERS GOT HOME THEY DIDN'T JUST GET A LOUSEY PIECE OF HYPED UP TRASH (*COUGH* ENTER THE MATRIX *COUGH*) THEY GOT A GAME THAT WAS HIGHER THAN AVERAGE ON THE GRAPHICS SIDE, SCORED AVERAGE ON GAMEPLAY BUT SCORED LOADS FOR BEING A GREAT ADAPTION OF THE FILMS.YOU BATTLE WITH THE HELP OF ARA-BOB, GIM-BOB AND LEGA-BOB. THEY ALL HAVE DIFFERENT ATTRIBUTES WHICH ADDS VARIETY, WHICH IS NEEDED AS YOU TEND TO BUUTON-BASH YOUR WAY THROUGH ON EASY MODE.THE CREATURES THAT ALL HAD SMALL PARTS IN THE MOVIE,HAVE BIG PARTS IN THE GAME AS YOU HIT THEM, STRIKE THEM AND NAIL 'EM TO THE GROUND, THEN MOVE ONTO ANOTHER ONE WHO SEEMS TO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WHERE HE IS, WHY HE IS THERE AND WHETHER HE SHOULD WALK INTO A TREE OR NOT. I AM TALKING ABOUT THE GAMES AI. IT LEAVES ALOT TO BE DESIRED BUT WHERE THE GAME AVERAGES IN AI IT DUN 'ALF MAKE UP FOR IN THE GRAPHICS. THEY MAY NOT BE AS CRISP AS SAY GRAND TURISMO 3 BUT THE PLACES AND SURROUNDINGS ARE BEAUTIFULLY TEXTURED SO THAT YOU KNOW WHAT IS A TREE AND WHAT IS A WALL. YOU REALLY DO THINK THAT YOU'RE THERE; IN THE THICK OF IT AS YOU REMEMBER HOW ARA-BOB THREW WOOD CHIPPINGS AT THE 1000'S OF URAK-HAI AS THEY CHRAGED AT HELMS DEEP, IN THE FILM. THE GAME HELPS YOU REMEMBER THESE THINGS AND IT COULD ONLY DO THAT BY MAKING YOU SEE A WELL REPRESENTED MIDDLE EARTH AND THAT IS WHAT EA HAVE DONE.SO LET'S ROUND THIS THING OFF WITH A CONCLUSION. THE GAME IS WORTH BUYING IF YOU LOVED THE FILMS BECAUSE YOU WILL INSTANTLY RECOGNISE MIDDLE EARTH AND THEREFORE ENJOY IT LIKE 'ECK. FOR YOU WHO BELIEVE VERY GOOD FILMS ARE RUBBISH OR ARE AN ARTY-FARTY, INDEPENDENT FILM, TYPE WHO HAS A GRUDGE AGAINST BIG, S.EFFECTS, HOL'WOOD FILMS AND HAVEN'T SEEN THE FILMS THEN I STILL BELIEVE YOU WOULD ENJOY THE GAME.JUST REMEMBER THAT ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IS NOT ALWAYS INTELLIGENT AND CAN LOOK VERY ARTIFICIAL!

A fantastic game. Ea games one. Play as Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli or Isiladour which you unlock after you complete it. Lets start with the grapics. Fantastic the graphics are. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli all look very much like the film but one character you unlock, Isiladour is a bit dodgey with his graphics. There are many kinds of enemys in the films which have been captured in the game such as Goblins, Uruk Hai, Trolls and Ringwraiths which all look very realistic. You do see extra characters which you can't play as such as Gandalf, Frodo and Boromir and they all look very realistic aswell. When theres explosions etc in the game they somtimes don't look very real so overall the grapics equala 8/10.Audio.The audio is a good as it could be because the characters in the film recorded their voices into the game. The orcs, trolls and ringwraiths sound very much like they do in the film. The explosions and other sounds all sound very good. Overall the audio is 10/10.Gameplay.There are 13 challenging different missions which go through weathertop, moria, amon hen, fangorn, rohan and helms deep. There is also the battle at the beggining of the fellowship (film) which you play as Isiladour but then have to do all the others with Aragorn, Legolas or Gimli. As you complete the levels your character's level will grow and you will earn experience points which you can use to buy upgrades. When you get your character to level 10 you can do the extra Tower of Orthanc mission which is quite hard. You go through 20 floors of orcs, trolls etc. Your character has a missile (bow and arrow) which you can also upgrade. Aragrorn has 30 arrows, Legolas 60 arrows and Gimli has 30 small axe kind of things. Overall the gamplay is 9/10. This game is aimed at people 10+ because some children below that age may find it too hard and confusing. There is alot more orcs to kill than in the fellowship because you do helms deep so its quite fun to slice em up. Overall a good game but just needed the finishing touch

I have given this game 4 stars because the graphics are excellent and the characters look like the actors in the movie. The dialogue is slightly ridiculous, for example Legolas says 'Go back to the pits that spawned you' (or something along those lines). The voices of the characters are the real actors instead of a bunch of impersonators. The game combines events from both the Fellowship of the Ring and the Two Towers, because it starts at Mount Doom and includes places like Weathertop, which is brill. To shorten the gap between the film and the game, the producers have cleverly blended in clips of the movie throughout. In the battle at Helm's Deep it is raining and they have made it so that the raindrops are sort of splattering on the screen. As you complete each level (or a certain level)you 'unlock' special features. These include production photos and interviews with some of the cast and the director Peter Jackson. This gives you the urge to keep going. At the end you have to play a 'secret mission' with a secret character, which I personally was a bit disappointed at. I won't tell you what the mission is or who the character is because that would be just spoiling the surprise! If you buy the 2 towers game then you have got to get the Return of the King to continue the adventure. I haven't got it but i intend to get it asap!

When I first got this game I was expecting to go waltzing around middle earth, purging the fair lands of all things Orc… And that is exactly what I got!If you liked the films then this game won’t let you down; the people who played parts in LOTR do the voices for the characters as well. This unity with the film is further enhanced with the seamless transition from the graphics of the game to a scene from the film, making you feel that your actions really influenced the story. You take control one of the three heroes; Aragorn, Gimli or Legolas, each with his own special moves and characteristics, upgradeable as you progress through the game. Interviews with the cast of the films become available as you meet certain criteria, and these are a welcome diversion from the seemingly endless massacring of orcs you have to do.There are unfortunately, no real objectives to complete in the levels: Either you wander to the end of the path carving up any nasty orcs who are unfortunate enough to get in your way, or you survive for a set length of time before progressing onwards.Even though you may complete this games storyline in a day, a secret level, secret character and of course the task of achieving a “perfect” rating on every level, do go some way to extending this games rather short lifespan.

Right i'm the one who hasn't seen any of the films yet, but for some inknown reason i went and bought this game. I wanted a game that put in me in the thick of the action something similar to the Dynasty Warriors series. This was something else! Dark, brutal and damn right frightening. This game is pure genius, considering it's a film. And we all know what happens to these games. I was glued for weeks to this game, with a mixture of exellent graphics and gameplay, i then pre-orders the sequel Return of the King. Buy this game now or wait for the new one, but this is fantastic and i highly recommend it!!

I opened my Lord of the Rings two towers practictly jumping with exitement. It is a really good game once you get into it but it soon gets a bit boring. In Balin's Tomb you are involved in a mighty orc battle with is promply mayhem. All you do is fight, fight, fight and you don even know who you are killin! I think it is better than the first because you do not have to be Frodo all the time, but I would like a wider selction of characters. Maybe you could be Gandalf and cast wicked spells on orc and urakai, that would be totally cool. In the end I think this game is good but could be improved.

This is a great game and so much better in every way to LOTR Fellowship of the Ring. The graphics and game play are superb and there are sequences from the film slotted into each level.I thoroughly recommend this PS2 game to any fan of the books, films and general slash and dash games! Marvellous!Don't bother buying the rubbish first game (Fellowship) since this one goes back and summarises the beginning so you know what is going on with out having to play the first one.Buy it.. you will not be disappointed, I promise.

i have recently completed this game (not in platinum form) and i can safely say it is the best film or television conversion game i have ever seen, it is packed with realistic enemies and settings and the playable characters all have thier own unique qualities! well worth buying! and even if your not a fan of the films or books you should still find enjoyment. look out for the return of the king game too, it will be great!
