First things first - if you're expecting the finest teapot with the world's best finish and materials then you might want to look elsewhere. This is a mass produced teapot that does everything it should do perfectly.Overview: It is extremely large (I bought the 6 cup version) and has a metal tea leaf strainer (not sure if that's the correct word for it when it resides in the teapot).Pros: The spout is excellent: you really have to try hard to get it to dribble down the side of the pot.The metal strainer reaches to the bottom of the pot so that if you only want a small quantity then that's fine. The holes on the strainer are fine, meaning that if your tea leaves and very small and granular (like the Twinings ones in particular I find)then you still don't get any particulate matter in the tea.It is solidly made and will last a very long time if you wash it well.It seems to be more than capable of keeping tea hot for a long time (I do always make sure to preheat it first with boiling water).Cons:The finish on the inside is not perfect but that is to be expect at this price. What I mean by this is that there a few lumps and bumps on the inner surface, but those won't be visible to anyone. If you're perhaps quite dainty and planning on using this to fill up to the brim then please take care as it will be heavy. This is not a con of the product as such, just a consequence of the laws of physics. If you're considering a large teapot and don't want to spend a fortune, go for this. You will not regret it.

Nice looking as in classic shape.Capacity is close to 750ml maybe 800ml vs the 500ml of my previous one ... that is a tiny little bit too big for me but I can live with it.What I like: the filter goes down really low in the teapot, almost to the bottom, allowing to make green tea the proper way (covering it up with 20%-25% of cold water before adding the boiling water in order not to exceed 70 degrees celsius). What I dislike: it doesn't pour very well and spills a bit, lid holds on to the filter and not to the pot hence with no filter it is loose. Porcelain is of average thickness but that was expected (best porcelain tea pots are in bone china and are very thin i.e. less than .5mm thick)which allows it to got up in temperature much faster when pouring the hot water which makes a slightly better tea .. but these teapots are much more expensive.Overall happy in this price range. It is really good that the filter goes so deep inside the pot, a bit of a shame that the pot doesn't pour perfectly but it is not among the worst.

i have consumed leaf tea for over 70 years.i have used, broken and despaired of many hundreds of teapots over this time.this is the very best i have yet found.its sturdy and innovative in design.the inbuilt tea basket strainer is an exceptional design once you understand how it works. unlike all others its also very well made and constructed. with care iam sure it will last.teapot spout can drip but so do they all. clumsy angles when holding or trying to make a quick brew always result in a bad messy cuppa regardless of the equipment used. speed = teabags or any of the other modern gadgets, machines or gizmos but the very best outcome always derives from a decent ceramic teapot, diffuser and time to brew leaf tea. some other countries even make this an almost religious ceremony. !!!i commend the designer of this teapot system. perhaps he can tackle brexit and all the drippy spouts within it !!!i would be happier if it were manufactured in england as well but maybe one day soon it can be.

This teapot does what a teapot should do: it's sturdy, it pours well without dripping all over the place, it has a large capacity, and the infuser is really good, easy to clean out - even though the teapot lid doesn't quite fit on it when the infuser is still in the pot. However, I use the teapot to make green and other Eastern tea in the "old-fashioned" way, i.e. allowing the leaves to unfurl for 5 seconds, throwing that water away and then adding more water and steep for another 5 seconds, using up all the liquid in one go, then letting the leaves rest above the water level until the next brew. This way you can get manifold brews - and it's not because I'm trying to save money. This is how it's done the Eastern way. However, it can also be done the Western way, and in that case, brewing a full teapot and letting it steep for several minutes and longer, it's difficult to keep the lid properly on the pot.I'm going to get myself a tiny teapot too now, for smaller quantities of my favourite teas.

It is very heavy when full - you'll need both hands to pick it up and pour out of this teapot... but then, I was wanting a chunky and big (big enough for 3 big mugs of tea) teapot, so I can't really complain.Pros:The lid stays in place well when tipped to pour.Big enough for 3 big mugs of tea.Lovely traditional design. The infuser is of very good quality - it clicks on, is big, does not allow even the fine tea leaves to escape, and is long enough so you can make just one cup of tea for yourself, too (which is a major thing as a lot of big teapots are designed without taking into account that sometimes people only need to make one cup of tea for themselves) !Con:It's heavy - but then,it's a big and chunky teapot so I should've expected that.Overall: Very happy with the purchase :)

I have been looking for a teapot that could serve two cups of good quality brew without dribbling on the table cloth. This teapot does all that and a little bit more. The teapot comes well packaged and is of three parts; the main body, lid and infuser unit. It's a great design as the infuser holds the lid in place whilst pouring by means of it's lever which also holds and releases the infuser. To make a pot you fill the infuser with your favourite leaf, place the infuser into the pot and pour on the boiling water. Then sit the lid in place and wait a few minutes before pouring. The resulting tea is free from any tea leaves due to the fine straining design of the infuser.Washing up is easy as the infuser is easily removed and the leave emptied with a single inverted tap.

I think I've spent twenty five years in search of the perfect teapot and now I have found it. I bought brown 2 cup one of these a few days ago and I have to say I'm really pleased. It pours well has the fantastic (and removable) stainless steel filter so it doesn't matter if you are using loose, bags or dried herbs you can make a mess and hassle free cup. The size is perfect it holds two ordinary size mugs full. I was so impressed I bought the ivory (very simple and elegant) one for drinking green and herbal teas, keeping the brown one for those containing tannin. British designed and made. Fantastic teapot why had it taken somebody so long to design the filter. Also bought a four cup one for partners house ,we have just christened that and it made the perfect cuppa.

Brilliant. The best teapot I ever did have (and I've had many). The filter is brilliant as it takes loose teas and tea bags and is easy to clean. The other advantage with using a filter is that you can take the filter out of the pot whether using loose tea or tea bags after the tea is brewed (say 5 mins )and the tea will not "stew" so the second cup is the same as the first. The lid on my pot is loose and during pouring needs to be held in place with the non pouring hand- hardly a disadvantage- but that is the only fault if you can call it that. The pouring is brilliant not a drip in sight and the tea goes straight into the cup and not on the table or floor! Worth every penny for that alone!Could not recommend this fantastic tea pot too highly.

So good I bought two more 2 cup as well. Going to be sending this one back as the moulding marks have been left on and it was a present for partner. Doesn't affect its function just its aesthetic. There is no similar fault with either of the other two.Wakey wakey quality control.

Having purchased the 6-cup version (supplied by Amazon) and been totally satisfied, I bought a 2-cup version which was slightly different, an older model perhaps, which was NOT supplied through Amazon. Very disappointed as it dribbled and the filter was soft mesh. Unfortunately I broke my large pot recently so when I replaced it, again through Amazon, I also ordered the smaller 2-cup version in Ivory. Super! Just as good as the big pot. Same rigid filter only smaller which is easy to empty. It doesn't dribble either and makes a lovely cup of leaf tea. You can actually get 3 cups of tea (depending on the size of the cup). You can't go wrong if your pot is supplied by Amazon.Delivery times are amazingly quick.

This teapot is just right for one person, large enough for two teacups or one large mug. The container for the leaves is pierced with very fine holes and works really well, it keeps the leaves in and drains quickly. The filter was difficult to remove the first time I used it but not the second time. People have found a problem with place the lid, but so long as the vent is located opposite the spring lever and is entered vent first, the lid will sit securely in place and give a reasonable seal. If the pot is used without its filter the lid may fall off, but I bought it to filter my tea so why would I leave the filter out? This pot is exactly what I wanted and it's inexpensive.

I've tried quite a few teapots over the past couple of years, glass ones, pottery ones, ones with filters, ones without... I've never been satisfied though, until now! This teapot is well made, pours without dribbling everywhere, the filter is nice and large allowing the leaves to move around and it fits into the pot very securely. The lid fits with or without the filter in place (most don't - Chatsfords especially). The red colour is great and makes me smile every time I use it and it's the perfect size for two large mugs of fabulous tea, with no stray tea leaves floating about in them. It's well priced too. Yes, it seems I am in love with a teapot. Sad... but true!

I like this teapot, I bought it for my husband as he drinks a lot of tea I personally only drink coffee (lol). The great thing about this teapot is that the infuser pot is great for putting a teabag in and also easy to take out so you don't have to find it in the pot. Thus teapot is the correct size for a 2 mugs/cups of tea, the last one was only 2 small cups of tea so was a bit of a pain.Went for the brown colour so that it doesn't look a mess when its been used. The spout pours very well and doesn't leave a mess over your side.Would highly recommend this teapot, a happy husband means I get an easy life especially as he works from home since this lockdown.

After the glass filter teapot I bought here in Portugal cracked the first time I poured hot water into it, I decided to hunt around on Amazon for a replacement. I ordered the Dexam 4-cup filter teapot (as my husband drinks herbal teas) and have to say this is the best teapot I have ever had.Not only does it look great - much nicer than the glass ones (i.e. it's a proper teapot!!), it doesn't drip at all and the small perforations in the filter mean that you don't end up with leaves and dregs at the bottom of your cup. As the filter is so easy to remove, you can choose whether to use leaves or bags. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

I rarely review products on Amazon, but I feel duty-bound to inform the world what an excellent teapot this is. I've been through a few teapots, and know the common pitfalls - dripping when you pour, tealeaves caught in the spout, poorly fitting lids - and this one avoids them all. It's a solidly-made, well-designed little fella, and I love it! The inner metal basket is nice and spacious for your leaves to brew; it holds a decent 4 cups (I'd say more like 6); it's insulated enough that you can get away without a tea cosy. I've owned it for 3 weeks and it's already an indispensable companion to my working day. Thank you!
