This was my third Bodum teapot. It stands out as being stronger and more durable than the smaller pots I previously had.Heat-resistant glass suffers from thermal stress when filled with boiling water. Although the glass is designed to withstand this, nevertheless it does warp a fraction when rapidly heated. My two smaller Bodum pots broke spontaneously after about 18 months' of daily use. They just suddenly fell apart while being filled.The 1.5L version, this one, is made of noticeably thicker glass which is better able to withstand repeated thermal stress. I have used mine for two years' now - say 2,000-odd brews - and am confident it will keep going indefinitely.All that said,

I bought my first 15 years ago. The second teapot lasted 10 years. I have broken two by dropping or hitting with something solid. I enjoy tea. I can easily get my fist in to wipe away the tannin stains. The traditional tea pot does not allow proper cleaning after each brew and spouts in particular can get clogged with old tea stains. Some tea addicts like that but I do not.Each time I bought a new pot I have used the stainless steel infusers to brew tea. Invariably I make about three brews with the infuser and then find it a faff to use so I throw it away. I could detect no difference in taste when I use the bowl as a normal tea pot. I don't need the gubbins in the middle,

I bought this to replace an original which I have had for about 20 years. The old one still works, but the infuser and plunger had seen better days and the plastic lid cracked.This one's better: the stainless infuser allows better flow of boiling water and is easier to clean; the plunger and lid are more robust and the silicone ring between the infuser and the pot holds the infuser in place. Best of all, the pot is the same size & shape as the old one, so I have a spare.The single downside is the glass handle. It seems like it'll be the think to break (so far so good, though...) and it gets hot when under a tea-cosy, which the old plastic one never did. That's the only reason it has lost a star.Oh,

Used at the very least once a day every day since purchase apart from holidays, usually used 3/4 times a day, still as happy with it as the day I bought it.I bought the plastic insert before this one, that one is awful, don't try to cheap out like I did and just get this one.If the metal insert isn't placed in perfectly centred on the pot, the tea can spill, but that is user error (me half asleep on the way out in the morning), so not the fault of the item, and I have not taken any stars off for it, but just something to consider.Would buy again if I ever broke it, have tried other similar pots in both size and price band and this one is much better than the others I tried (john lewis etc)

I 'upgraded' to this from the Bodum pot with a plastic insert (also available on Amazon at the time of writing).The difference is marked - the quality of the basket and components is high, the seal of the plunger feels strong and doesn't look likely to break down at any time. The stainless steel basket is a huge upgrade from plastic - it's far less likely to take on nasty tastes (I'm looking at your Chai Tea) and doesn't get clogged up as easily thanks to smaller holes for water to flow through.If you still take the time to make loose leaf tea then this is really an essential and very well-priced accessory! I can't recommend it highly enough.

This is a very light weight well made tea presse and at 1.5 litre capacity is fine if you are making more than 2 mugs of tea. Unfortunately the holes in the infuser don't go right to the bottom of the teapot meaning that you will have to fill it nearly half full before the water will flow through the sieve/filter.I bought this size bcause I thought it would sufice for just the wife and I, but also be big enough for any visitors that may call round.I would recommend getting a smaller version if you're only catering for just 2 people.

It is beautifully designed .... and ALMOST works..... but it still let's tea through. Back to using the Bodum coffee pot for tea. It uses a smaller mesh. I just cannot fathom why Bodum has cut corners with the steel mesh.... they clearly know how to do this properly. It's better than the plastic.... but still not good enough. My advice is not to buy and get a Bodum cafetierre instead... but if they can sort the meshing it will be a perfect teapot.... what it should have been already.... It is a pretty ornament in our kitchen.....

As a herbal tea drinker who enjoys her tea very hot I have always found it difficult to brew the teabag and still keep the tea piping hot - not any more. This little teapot is ideal. I warm the teapot with hot water, place two teabags in the strainer, add the water, give the bags a quick stir, put the top on and leave to brew. When I eventually use the plunger I have a strong herbal mug of tea that has kept its heat. I have also used only one teabag and less water and the tea still remains hot.

I am really pleased with this teapot. Its nice and big - you can get 5 mugs of tea out of it. The volume means that there is plenty of space and heat to brew a good cup of tea. Guests have complimented us on our tea. We have noticed a surprising improve,meant in flavour over the same same tea brewed in our old teapot. It seems to keep the tea hot for ages too.Only downside is that the handle has been put on rather wonky. Could do with a bit better quality control at this price level.

First one arrived shattered but I got a refund and my second one arrived intact. I like it. The handle stays nice and cool and it pours well without dribbling all over itself even for small amounts. I find the plunger mechanism a bit cumbersome, partially because you have to hold down the slightly wobbly metal lid on top (which is hot) as you push it down. It does work though. The rubberised seal for the strainer unit is a good idea. I'd give it 5 stars if it was cheaper.

Really pleased with this pot- it makes excellent tea and holds just the right ammount for two people. the fact that it is transparent is great too - it allows you to see when the pot has brewed to how you like it. the plunger is an added bonus, squeazing all theflavour out and keeping the loose leaves together away from the cup. only thing is stains do show up if you, like me are a little lack lustre when it comes to scrubbing.

We have now gone through 4 of these pots but their quality is such that it's worth it. The previous pots have cracked but not because they were knocked or dropped. We think that the dish washer was responsible even though they are heatproof enough to take boiling water. They fulfil the prime directive - they make a grade 1 cup of tea. Don't forget though, the taste depends upon the quality of the leaf.

This teapot is great. The tea stays warm without stewing because of the efficient plunger system, the spout pours perfectly. We have extra large cups of tea without milk but still get a good 3 cups from it. We use it every day and it still looks beautiful. I hesitated when purchasing because I thought it was alot to pay for a teapot but am absolutely delighted and I do recommend.

My husband has just got into real tea after drinking it on holiday. Carefully researched and we came up with this one. it does the job really well. No mess tea leaves until you come to empty them and this is easy to do. Good size you get two mugs out of it or several smaller cups if you prefer. Overall very pleased with it.

This is the second one we had had over a number of years ! Thin glass but durable .tis one has been improved over the faultless first . Does not absorb heat as much as China pot , so hotter cup per . Had a long search in town to no avail , only coloured ones ! Web to the rescue ! Plenty of room for tea to brew .
