I drink premium loose tea, and I've long looked for the best way to brew it. Initially, a couple of decades ago, I used paper filters; you put the tea in them, pour the water over them, then through it all away when you're finished. But that's a waste of paper, and it's not ideal if you want to make a second brew with the same leaves. Then I tried the many metal filters that you put into a cup, but you need another cup or saucer to hold them when you take them out of your cup, and those filters don't always fit easily into a teapot. This offers a good compromise: a metal filter that stays in the pot, plus the clever way of isolating the leaves after you've finished steeping them. This means the tea doesn't oversteep when you leave the leaves in the pot, and you can easily do a second steep by removing the plunger and adding water. The only problem with a pot like this is that the tea gets cold very quickly. I've never found a good teapot that keeps tea warm, so I use this to make about a cup and a half worth when at work, and it's warm enough when I get to the end. If it were somehow insulated, it would get five stars. (Note that I'm using the .5 liter model; I assume it's the same for the larger ones, but the temperature issue might be even more important if you're making a liter or more of tea, since you're not likely to serve it all at once.)

I bought this especially to brew Chinese green tea, to which I am a recent convert. This particular version has a stainless steel filter which doesn't affect the delicate flavour of green tea. The glass pot pours easily without dripping and the plastic handle is cool and a comfortable shape and size. The plunger inside the filter can be used to halt the brewing process by pushing fully down to exclude the water from the tea leaves. I put fresh green tea leaves into the pot in the morning and by replenishing the water level as required the pot will provide refreshing tea throughout the day. The pot looks attractive and it's interesting to see how the tea changes colour from pale green to brown. This size of pot brews sufficient for two or three persons, although I find this size also practical for brewing tea just for me.Recommended.

I love these Bodum tea pots. My old Bodum (older style) is still going strong after about 7 years, this purchase was to give flexibility whilst 1 is in dishwasher. I drink my various tea’s black & generally prefer more than 1 cup/mug. You decide on the strength of your brew & stop or start brewing again as you wish. You can use any type of tea you wish or even just tea bags. Easily get 2 bone China mugs from 1 pot. Plus they look good & retains the heat as long as you drink 1 mug following the next. This newer product has a plastic lid which does not burn your fingers when emptying the warmed pot (old one is metal). Having found this range I wouldn’t change to any other, ever again.

My new favourite teapot replacing my old Bodum that died after years of reliable service. This new one is actually better as it has a stainless steel filter at the centre. Plus the lip protrudes slightly more than the old one meaning that it pours properly with no mess. Disappointed it no longer comes with a little cork saucer because that is really useful insulation for the base but I kept the old one and it all works perfectly. Used for my favourite Tea Makers of London Ceylon Earl Grey tea with a strong bergamot flavour: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tea-Makers-London-Ceylon-Supreme/dp/B004HV61WO/

I bought this teapot after reading several reviews, was a bit worried about there being a chemical after taste to the tea but that did not happen. On receipt I washed it in warm soapy water rinsed it, filled it with hot water and left it to stand. I changed the water twice and actually used the teapot the following day, The tea tasted perftect with no bits floating in the cup. The pot washes well in my dishwasher and there is no staining to the staineless steel press in the pot as yet.

It's a great teapot - usual Bodum quality (I've had a few of their cafetieres before and they've been bril). Please note though that the pictures are misleading: the filter is NOT made of stainless steel, it's plastic! My bad really, as the description does state it is plastic, and I just didn't read it. I wish they changed the pictures though, as I chose it specifically because of the filter - hence the 4 stars.

I have had a few different loose leaf teapots over the past years, and this one is undoubtedly the best. It contains a healthy litre of the hot wet stuff, seals nicely around the rim to prevent scalding drippage, and brews tea quickly and effectively. Feels sturdily put together and doesn't get too hot on the outside when in use..I'm not sure if the plunger does anything for me, but it's a nice touch.

It looks very stylish on the kitchen table top especially in comparison to more cylindrical fresh presses. The handle is very thick so is very safe to use. The lid doesn't fit perfectly well and sometimes you'll find it slips around when you're trying to push the plunger down. It's my second french tea press and I certainly prefer it over the first one I bought.

Bought it for my husband's birthday, the kids couldn't help but told him already. When he took it out of the box I saw his face had a smile frozen on it. LOL, he was expecting a porcelain one. This is so beautiful, he uses it every day. It has been dropped already on the floor, and nothing happened to it, did not broke or had a scratch on it.

When I unpacked the tea pot, I was pleased to notice robust body and I love the 2 extra mugs it came with. The filter has a rubber ring around it, which I assume helps trap heat when it collides with the press mechanism. I think it's probably the best tea pot I've ever used. I'd recommend it to all tea addicts out there.

Great tea, by the 3rd cup it does get cooler, but can easy obtain 2 full mugs of proper leaf tea. Love it, if you like tea give it a try. One of the 2 free glass Bistro mugs had a scratch on the centre of the mug, perhaps that is why the are free. Good buy would recommend it for those who like tea.

This teapot was bought for me as a birthday present as I love different types of tea. The teapot holds enough water for approximately three mugs of tea. It is so cool to have a teapot where I can see the tea brewing. The teapot can be washed in the dishwasher making it easy to look after

The product arrived on time and very well packaged (lot of bubble wrap!). It's visually smaller than expected, but 1L is enough, and it takes less space! The price with the 2 cups was almost the same than the teapot alone, so nice addition!Would recommend!

I had a similar teapot that got broke so this is a replacement. i have to say i don’t see the point of the plunger it’s not needed and i don’t use it. would rather just a normal lid. but that aside it’s pretty good teapot.

This is great, I use it daily as I need two cups of tea in a row most mornings! Easy to use, easy to clean in the dishwasher. I use it for normal tea bags and it also keeps the water hot enough to want to drink another!
