This is a heavy-duty staple gun that takes No.13 staples of 4 to 8 mm depth. It is made very solid chrome steel, looks built to take being thrown around a warehouse. It requires strong grip to work the lever and fire the staples, but it does have a rubbery anti-slip grip to soften the bit where your fingers grip it. It has what the box calls a locking device, which just a metal loop that goes over the handle to stop it keep it down. On mine, this look had already half fallen off when I took the stapler out of the box, so I don't expect it to last very long.It doesn't come with any staples, which is a bit of a let-down, as it's a bit difficult to review the product properly without actually having some staples to use in it.I did find some, and it does staple very effectively, whacking the staples into board and wood with ease. It has no recoil, which makes it a bit easier on the hands when doing a lot of stapling. All in all, it's a good solid stapler, built like a tank, except for its flimsy locking device. I have never yet used a locking device on one of these things, so I'm not bothered about it being a bit rubbish. The stapler is really good, and at this price it's a real bargain.

A very well made and solid tool. I ordered this as I make a lot of models including dioramas and need to fix card and fabric to the ply surface. It is superb. It is all metal apart from the rubber or plastic grip which makes it more comfortable. The release mechanism is all metal unlike some which have a plastic part here.A very re-assuring clunk as it is pushed down with absolutely no hint of recoil. Not the cheapest but worth it if you need to do a lot of stapling. There are no instructions other than diagrams on the carton: I noticed that there is an oil can symbol pointing to the top of the head which indicates that lubrication is required - I would guess a light oil is all that is required. When this is done you will nee to be careful that no oil is transferred to the staple if paper or fabric is not to be covered. You will need to also order the staples, size R13, as they do not seem to be routinely available in shops but readily available on-line. They are packed in 5000s and come in three different lengths (4mm, 6mm and 8mm)I am delighted with this.

This is the top of the range R23 `Pro' model with an all-metal body for strength but a flexible anti-slip silicone panel panel beneath the handle for comfort - and especially valued for outdoor work in cold weather. When not in use, there's a locking loop to secure the handle. It's a good, solid, faultless stapler offering reliable performance and built to last, backed by a 5 year guarantee. So far I've used it for upholstery to staple a chair seat and cover to a wooden frame and outdoors to staple wire mesh to my rabbit hutches and pens. Every time it has performed perfectly and smoothly with no jams, no half-applied staples and no multiple staples fired at a time.It uses size 13 staples (a pity none were supplied but I had a pack in stock) either 4mm, 6mm or 8mm deep for more heavy duty work. It is powerful and just as good as my heavy-duty electric stapler, but I much prefer a manual model.A worthy 5-stars for DIY, woodworking, upholstery, crafts, mounting display materials and a multitude of other uses.

This is built like a tank. Coming from a classic range of staplers (we always had at least one of their models in our house when I was a kid), you expect Rapid to know what they are doing by now. This isn't a cheap plastic-bodied stapler, it is made from high quality folded steel parts, and everything is built to last. A bit like the mentality which goes into other Swedish things, such as Volvo. (No, there are no all-day winter headlamps...).The underside of the handle is silicon-lined for comfort, and the top handle/trigger is ergonomically shaped. When not in use, a strong clip keeps the handle down so that mis-fires cannot happen. The staple draw is firmly clamped by a release spring clip, and slides out smoothly to all staples to be loaded. But note that it needs Size 13, or 6-8mm staples - those sold as "standard" size for mundane staplers won't fit.The Rapid R23 is a solid piece of kit, and I expect it should last you almost forever (based on my experience of the brand).

This Swedish-made all-steel stapler is very well made, it has a pleasing weight but is light enough to be easy to use, with the underside of the handle being lined with silicone giving a comfortable grip even during long periods of use. It delivers staples with a pleasing 'thunk' which will easily penetrate both soft and hard woods without any recoil. It also has a sturdy lock which should prevent little hands doing any damage with it or to themselves. It is obviously a 'professional standard' tool and this is reflected in the relatively high (but fairly reasonable) price, if you don't do a lot of stapling similar much cheaper staplers are available. It does not come with any staples and it should be noted that it takes 'R13 staples'which I had to shop around to find although they are readily available on line, including from Amazon.

Sometimes you hold a gadget in your hand and it just feels good - this stapler is one of those items. It feels incredibly solid, its all-metal construction (barring the plastic grip) makes it reassuringly heavy - you know this is going to last. When not in use, the stapler handle is held close to the stapler by a metal clip - this means that it remains compact and can be slid back into the box for storage. Often staplers like this have a powerful recoil which can hurt your wrist after prolonged use, but this model manages to minimise that kick-back resulting in a stapler which is very comfortable to use. Despite the softness on the wrist, this drives staples with extreme power and isn't fiddly to load,in a nutshell: Easy to use and although pricey - it will probably outlive you.

I've been using a similar stapler to this one for many years now, although that is a cheaper branded model. This new model from Rapid staples at least as well as my old one but does it in a better way; the stapling action is so much more comfortable thanks to the better design and recoil-less action. Long-time use with the old one meant aching arms from the effort involved but that now seems to be a thing of the past as this one is nicer to handle in every way. There are even little touches which show attention to detail such as the plastic grip, and the hook to hold the handle closed. The build quality is very good too and I expect many years of effective but comfortable service from it.

This is a very solid no-nonsense stapler, not particularly cheap but I believe that you get what you pay for.I used this to upholster a footstool which it did without any problems whatsoever. One of the best advantages of this product is the design, having a nicely rounded metal handle which makes it very comfortable to use which is more than I can say for other staplers I've used for light upholstery work. One small niggle is that staples aren't supplied with it though I think this is the same with most staplers. I was fortunate here as my son had the required staples so I didn't have to wait to use it.A very definite thumbs up!

Used to staple padded leather onto MDF board, which it managed effortlessly. None of the Staples needed hammering flat, though I'm not sure whether this will be the case with hardwood. The staple gun itself is all metal which gives it a reassuring weightiness, and suggests it will be durable. It is easy to load Staples when you know how (the instructions could have been clearer), and the trigger mechanism doesn't require too much pressure which makes it comfortable to use for longer periods. There are cheaper staple guns, but I'd be surprised if they performed consistently as this one.

This is not a flimsy piece of kit by any stretch of the imagination. Enormously sturdy, shiny, durable and fit for purpose, it's ideal for typical household stapling tasks - furniture repairs, stapling materials to my wooden shed walls, or effecting repairs on our chicken house and run. It doesn't come with staples so I had to borrow a few to test it out, but the results were excellent and I've ordered some size 13 6mm staples from this site. I'm sure I'll be using this a lot in the future - like my husband's equally Swedish car, it looks like it's built to last.

It's well made, but I don't like the little metal arch that holds the lever in a retracted position, as that looks like it will not last forever. The body of the stapler is made of metal, and has an industrial design and feel to it.It doesn't come with any free staples. Its Heavy, feels solid, and could seriously do some damage if you drop it on your foot.Overall its well built and should last for some years.I've tried it on some loose carpeting and it works well.Would work on paper, but the only issue being that it doesn't close at the back.

Sure, there`s a decent price tag attached to this, but it`s a perfect example of something that you`ll never have to buy another one of! It`s built to last, and is quite heavy, but feels like could be used a lot (attaching canvas to frames in my case). Easy to load and not painful to use (some staplers take a lot of squeezing), this will do the trick, and I doubt if there are any better staple guns around for home or professional use. Worth noting that - and I felt this was a bit strange - no staples are provided, but

I did a lot of review searching before purchasing this staple gun. As this one had a good set of reviews and was manufactured in Sweden I thought it was worth a punt. I was not disappointed. This staple gun was slightly smaller than expected which makes it easy to use. It is very well constructed. I also ordered staples from the same supplier and on first use the stapler gave excellent results. I am glad I took the time to research this before buying. Highly recommended.

Just ordering a box of staples for my version of this fantstic staple gun. I thought I would offer my experience as I have had my machine nearly 30 years and found it to perform as well now as it did when new. I have had the miss fortune to use other guns durring this time and have always found them to come up well short in comparison to my Rapid, I feel mine may out last me.... But if it suffers some missfortune I shall order the same again like a shot.

This is a powerful, well made staple gun. It arrives without any staples, but these are easily and cheaply available. It is easy to use and entirely reliable. I can't imagine it ever failing. Aesthetically it is rather lacking, having a very workmanlike appearance - quite a surprise as it is made in Sweden and that left me expecting rather more in the design department, but no. That said - it's a truly solid work tool. You will not be disappointed.
