I had been looking for something like this (well, this!) for quite some time. Living in a flat of modest proportions, everything needs to be some kind of streamlined. I wanted something much better than the bog standard all over the bath triangular horse which after a while begins to warp with heavy stuff. I already have an often annoying extendable set of lines for over the bath, but do like something which can move outside to the balcony with ease, giving reasonable space, when weather allows. This narrow Leifheit, sturdily made, fits the brief. It stands nicely in the bath, and the firm wires across the top offer a flat surface to lay something which needs to dry flat, like woollens or be used to hang things from. The extendable wings give height for longer items like trousers.I tried to see how easy it might be to manoeuvre this, laden with washing, out of the bath-tub to put somewhere else – for example, if the sun came out (or, conversely, if the heavens opened suddenly.) It was easy to just close the wings, still laden with washing and manoeuvre through doorways. Because of the clunk-click lock open design of the legs, I wasn’t left with something suddenly collapsing when I tried to stand it again. And, to that locking open in a slightly splayed position – I’m grateful to those lucky Viners who got this for free, who mentioned this in their reviews. I thought I had pushed the legs open to the limit, but the frame didn’t really seem stable. It’s not immediately obvious that you need to push/pull beyond the obvious limit, to produce that locked, splayed sturdinessFolds up easily and offers numerous places to be hidden when not in useMy only cavil would be the full price – it’s not a cheaply cheerful item. I had popped it into a wish list, and was delighted to see a few days later that it unaccountably suddenly appeared at a whopping reduction in the mid 20s, rather than upper end 30s or, even, beyond. I had noticed some very volatile pricing changes, during the period where I was looking at possible alternatives, but this particular fall in price was perfectly timed. It’s gone up again now

Compact when folded, this expands out with two wings and two leg units, which click firmly into place. The legs have plastic collars, as with the size and shape it is designed so that it can be placed in a bath for items sufficiently wet to cause drippage. It has plenty of string so can hold lots of items, but the close proximity of the strings makes it a little bit of a pain to add items, and less space between the items probably gives less airing to them. It's sacrificing a certain amount of usability for quantity. It's not particularly high off the ground. The upward angle of the wings allows for longer items like trousers to be hung from the ends of these but of course you wouldn't be able to get many on.Overall it's a useful item but has its limitations. And it feels a bit overpriced for what it is, even though it feels of better quality than what you might get down the cheap shop.

I have a galley utility room. Have the length but width restricted. This is great. Once erected I can just walk between it and the run of cabinets/washing machine etc. I did consider units attached to the wall or ceiling but with the cost of say a 'sheila's maid' and someone fitting it all (stud walls) this was far more cost effective. Once folded it also fits behind the door from the kitchen to the utility and is neatly stored away. Additionally the central 'lines' are wider than many ariers should you have extra wide items e.g. towels. The only negatives so far are the 'wing' arms. They don't stay up quite high enough for shirts on hangars to totally clear the floor. But we are tall (husband 6'2")) and as long as the floor is kept clean this isn't a big issue!

This is a great little folding laundry drier/airer which has a surprising capacity for hanging out washing. I really appreciated the narrowness of the layout, as this meant it could sit in the hallway (alongside the radiator) without getting in the way.It simply folds out - you do have to push the legs out to ensure a secure footing - and you can start hanging straight away. I easy hung out a whole load of clothes, or a whole load of towels. I wouldn't use it for larger towels or sheets though - not big enough. It folds away neatly when not in use and we store it behind the door, or behind the sofa.I'd highly recommend this for anyone who needs a compact but effective drier / airer - caravan, flat, or even to take with you camping. It's great.

This stand is surprisingly sturdy for something that is also slimline and folds flat for storage. I was concerned that with the legs being freestanding, rather than crossed over each other, that it might make it a bit wobbly and unstable, but I have found it to be quite firm standing. It is a good size and can fit a light load of washing with ease. I have a large 9kg washer and it will not fit a full load for me, but can fit up to abut 4 kg load. It has fold out sides that are ideal for socks and undies, with heavier items in the middle section. It is predominantly made of metal, with durable blue plastic joints. As good as it is however,I do feel it is extremely overpriced for what it is and you can buy similar stands for a lot less.

Being a house of 5 adults, and two small children one of whom is a messy toddler and the other likes many wardrobe changes so we do a lot of laundry and although we have the option my mum has always preferred to use natural air drying where possible over continuous tumble drying. Thus airers are a necessity but not everyone has the space to accommodate a full sized one, and equally not everyone has the same laundry output as us- that's where this compact edition comes in.Leifheit have put the effort into designing a multitasker that is slimline, compact but provides enough space to be effective. This airer is small enough to comfortably sit in the bath (and so drips are corralled into a safe wet space)like the

There is a lot to like about this clothes drier...Here are the things that really impress me about this.It is very well designed, it does the job well and folds up to become very slim when not in use.It folds out easily and has loads of room to drape or hang. When folded out the arms are help securelyThe feet do not slip, and have soft areas to prevent scratching of surfaces (It is this attention to detail that I think set Leifheit apart)Overall, this is an excellent, excellent drier, highly recommended.

Very handy for airing clothes straight from the washing line that maybe are nt quite dry though it could certainly be used to dry underwear or shirts & blouses etc from scratch . It takes up little room & can hold a surprising amount of clothing , sheets & towels etc. It folds flat & can easily be stored in a cupboard or under the bed . This particular airer is useful , sturdy & great value . I m impressed .

This airer is just what it says. A narrow clothes area that you can even fit in the bath - maybe because you have limited space or because you've washed something that is dripping (sleeping bags?). The feet protectors should protect your bath from scratches. When first putting it up you may need to be a bit "firm" to lock the legs in place. Overall it seems a very well made clothes airer, and not flimsy.

This is perfect for my apartment, fits on the balcony so I can still get by.It was a little stiff to operate (unfold) first 5/6 times (there were few expletives as i was concerned I would break it !!) but it's had so much use it glides open now with ease. I can even get my kingsize bedding on it. I love it !

After almost one year of constant use, the clothes horse is still as good as new. It is easy to put together and open again. It is also relatively easy to manouver to another room (if there are guests coming over!) with the clothes still staying on it. Also, it does fit in the bathtub without any problems.

Got this as did not want another whirly-gig. Needs weighted down in wind but then I am in a particularly windy area. Can load it inside and carry out or reverse. Helpful if starts to rain. Non rust was important to me but I’d bring it in over winter.

Perfect size for bath and general studio living. When not in use as clothes airer, have doubled use by using as a table for my laptop, it's steady enough to take the weight. Also fits beneath the bed for storage out of the way.

I've wasted my money on cheap and cheerful airers for years, I was fed up of them falling apart and falling over so looked for a better quality one. I am so happy I found this airer, I have recommended it to everyone!

Needed this to bring inside/outside when it gets sunny/rainy... just the job as it is easily carryable and fits through the door perfectly and is sturdy in a breeze, better than others I have bought
