I bought this as a better solution for drying our clothes. My wife had been hanging clothes off the doors, chairs, anything around the house that she could use, so with the effectiveness of this method producing vastly inconsistent results, I felt a more fit-for-purpose solution would work better.Apart from the fact that the capacity of this rack enables us to dry all our clothes together in a single location (which optimises the use of our dehumidifier, which we can set up nearby to suck up all the moisture and speed up the drying process - the rack also provides a consistent space for each item to dry, reducing any contact between clothes and minimising any creasing of garments, which would happen when we attempted to repurpose household items (such as the backs of chairs, etc) for drying purposes.Apart from the benefits of using a device that is actually designed for drying clothes, the rack packs away flat, so there's almost no storage footprint at all when it is not in use.Given the relatively high capacity, it remains sturdy under the full weight of a wet load, and is easy to expand and collapse. It also features handy fold-out extenders that are designed for clothes hangers to hook onto, which extends the capacity of the rack even further.Performs its function very well, and a massive improvement over ad-hoc drying solutions using household furniture.

Now this isn't going to be a hugely insightful, technical review, as it's a clothes airer - it's some metal and plastic brackets.BUT.. This is a good one. There is enough width to get even the chunkiest persons knickers or pants on each rung, and the hanging brackets on each of the top corners is a real bonus. You can in theory get a couple of hanging items on each corner, but I wouldn't advise it, just 1 on each corner is enough.Easy to open and fold up, this is the second one of these airers I have owned. There is a weak point that isn't often mentioned however. If you really overload the airer, there is a chance that one of the legs will start to buckle. Now this is obvious for most things, but the lower legs have a pivot point right in the middle, seriously limiting their load carrying ability. If you are using this for underwear, socks, shorts, vests, etc, you'll never really have an issue. I think I very slightly bent my other airers leg by throwing a 'fresh out of the washing machine' king sized duvet - probably far exceeding the rated capacity. To sum things up - yes, it's more expensive than other options, but it's well made and won't frustrate you when you use it.

Great quality and practical as per usual from Minky.Don't think this is one of the wider airers you can buy, it is not. Being advertised as 21 meters and the packaging stating "Wider Hanging Rungs" (see pics) could make you believe this is the wider type, and wider than a 15m airer, it is not, it is a 15m airer with another 6m that can be added by applying hangers to the airer. The wider Rungs claim just means wider gaps between rungs not actually wider rungs. I didn't drop any stars for the perhaps slightly misleading adverting as the dimensions are giving and I only needed a tape measure to check, so I put this down as my own fault for not fully researching.I already own a wider Minky airer which is the best airer I've ever owned, being 6'4 and 130kg it's the only airer than I can hang my tshirts on without having to fold them in half to fit.So to sum up, this is a great regular sized airer.I will add some picture with comparisons to my wider airer.

I purchased this as I needed extra space to dry clothes during the winter months. I'm so glad I bought it. It's strong (not flimsy like other brands) and holds a full wash load no problem. I tend to place the airer in front of a radiator and then cover the airer with a sheet, securing the sheet behind the radiator - the washing dries much quicker! The flip-out corners are brilliant for hanging blouses and shirts- meaning less ironing too.The airer is very easy to put up and also trouble free to put down. Quite surprisingly I've not trapped my fingers in it! I'm assuming this is due to the (much needed) new design of the auto-lock mechanism.I already have an airer which I purchased a few years ago- I always end up trapping my fingers in it and it has a habit of unlocking and collapsing- I will be replacing my old airer with another one of these very soon. The difference in the quality is unbelievable! Well worth the money!

This works really well and holds 2 full loads from my 8kg washing machine and I've not had any issues with it being not able to cope. It is quite lightweight and looks flimsy but in use that has not been the case for me. The build quality seems to be spot on, no burrs or uneven finishing and the flip out shirt hangers are sturdier than I thought they would be.On first impressions it looked like it would buckle under too much weight but if I have one full load of towels (though it is not quite wide enough for beach size towels) and a further one of clothes it has held up well with no visible buckling or faults so far, after a few months of use. It's very quick and easy to put up and fold down and is quite compact when folded. If I could find fault with it it would be the feet which I feel could have a cover rather than the sort of spike that they are other than that it has served me well so far.

This is a Great airer one of the best in my opinion this is the 3rd one I'm buying not because their rubbish but because they are so good I brought my first one for me and my family and it lasted me years until my partner fell over into it and bent the legs. Which is why I'm buying the 3rd one 2nd one was for my mum and she loves it as much as we do the little claws that come out from the top are very useful not just for hanging shirts or light clothing NOT Jeans. But for Bras socks T-Towels Etc. Very Sturdy and Stable unless you fall on it. Excellent Space saver folds very flat fits neatly under the stairs. Very easy to open and close just mind fingers.Good space between bars over the whole airer the bottom bars are slightly closer together for socks and Boxers/knickers.All in All Extremely Happy with this product to end price but well worth the money had 1st one over 10 years.

I bought this because of the price. I assumed I was buying some Chinese made tat.Imagine my joy when the package arrived, proclaiming proudly that it was manufactured in Britain! Union flags were liberally scattered across it. By buying this I was helping the good men and women of Lancashire to remain employed just as their forebears were in the Industrial Revolution. Another generation of Ramsbottoms, Higginbothams and Mohammeds are keeping the manufacturing heritage alive!Except, they're not.The small print says this is made in China. As I said, I was assuming this so it makes no difference to my review of the product but I thought it would be worth mentioning. As to the product - It stands up.You can hang a lot of washing on it. It will continue to be used that way until the legs bend or it breaks in some other way.

Some months ago I bought an aired that looked totally identical to this Minky version but which had the lousiest welding around the support bars which were intended to hold the clothes, and these soon began to separate and fall free of the frame after a very short period of time. Anyway I've now had this minky for a good few weeks, and so far it's all good news with no sign of any deterioration around the welds. The other half also likes the little fold out prongs on the top corners which facilitate the use of clothes on hangers to be placed on these prongs thus increasing your overall airing space without the use of further bars. So far it's proving to be a very good piece of kit, however if it should collapse into a pile debris, you can be sure I'll be back on here to highlight its performance in detail.

This is the second one of these I have bought. This one is for my mum. Mine has been in almost daily use for years with no signs of wear. This style is much better than the newer style where the blue hooks fold in and out. My mum also has the newer model and the hooks don't feel very strong at all. This model you have holes in the four corners where the clothes hangers slot in. Metal tipped hangers are best as some of the plastic hangers don't easily fit in the hole. You can hang a double sheet or duvet cover on these with ease. The bars are quite thin wire so it's best used for bedding, towels, lycra wear etc. I would imagine you would get a line mark across heavy cotton clothes unless they are hung on one of the six thicker outside bars or on clothes hangers of course. In all a really good clothes horse.

This was my third attempt to buy the wider airer - the supplier I tried before (again via Amazon) twice sent the normal version. This, via a different shipper, is definitely wider than the 'normal' version, which we bought previously, so useful for drying bedding and large towels. However, there are fewer rails, so not there is not such a big difference in the total length of drying space available. The 4 folding out hanger hooks that are on our 'normal' airer have been replaced with holes into which a clothes hanger can, with a little fiddling, be hooked. This is not as convenient as the old version. In addition, I think Minky have added in the hangers to get the number of metres of drying space claimed on the package,as otherwise it is about 2m less than they claim.

I've had one of these (pretty much the same design barring the colours of the fold out hooks) in my house for over 10 years and it's as sturdy and clean as the day I bought it. Sure, it's not the most exciting thing in the world but it folds away neatly under the stairs, and when in use the clasps are very secure. It's also very stable and has survived many knocks on the way past without toppling over.I bought this one as a replacement for an alternative brand my partner had that was literally falling to pieces. While not the most romantic of gifts, it's the thought that counts and she was delighted with it as it not only stays up now, it holds a lot more items compared to her old one.For the money, you can't go wrong, and the Minky brand has always been solid.

I bought two of these, since there is no dryer in my flat. Coming from the USA, that was something of a shock! But this works well, although I do have to have it up quite a bit in my spare bedroom. Clothing dries fairly quickly because it allows them to be spread out, although I do own two dryers, and there is only me.But of course it includes sheets and towels, since I am not a fan of the laundromat. So they do take up space. I do wash fairly often, so the downside is having washing hanging up much of the time. Buying a tumble dryer is really the best option, but this flat has no window in the kitchen or bathroom for ventilation. Not ideal, so for now I’m just doing the best I can.It is difficult when people come to stay, since I have limited space here.

I bought this having read previous reviews which seemed to indicate it was a good product but that the drying area is a bit of a cheat and it is not wide enough for towels.Personally I am happy with the claimed drying area. It easily holds a wash load and once we are back in the office and my washing includes a few more shirts then the actual slots for coat hangers will be far better than my current system of hanging them of the door frame. However, I find that not only is the rack not quite wide enough for towels its not really wide enough for XL t-shirts. So if you wear these then you may find that you may want a slightly wider rack. Obviously, if you iron your t-shirts (not for me)or don't mind looking scruffy (me) then this isn't a major problem.

My Minky 3 tier indoor airer purchased several years ago is in daily use and still going strong. Needed a second airer and of course I choose a similar Minky - highly recommend Minky indoor airers. However, my problem relates to the way the item was delivered - the image is exactly as I received the item - no protective wrapping whatsoever, just the manufacturer’s original cellophane type wrapping which clearly was not meant for transit. The wrapping was torn in transit, exposing the plastic corner hooks (2 of these are damaged in that they do not easily open). I think the airer may have been sold direct by Amazon - the carrier was UPS.For theMinky airer to survive transit with no protective wrapping speaks volumes for the sturdiness of this product.

This was smaller than I expected. I noticed that this size was on a special price and was actually cheaper than the next size down and so I ordered it assuming that this was the biggest size of airer available. I was wrong. This just isn't wide enough, it's maybe an inch wider than the average pillow case ( if you hang it vertically) so obviously nowhere near wide enough for towels. It means that some items you can't hang on it without bunching up or folding, therefore they don't dry properly. It's quite compact too, meaning less airflow around it and therefore clothes don't dry as quickly as they should. On the plus side it's easy to use, seems relatively sturdy and the bits that pull down for putting hangers on are quite handy.
