Having had a couple of different makes of airers, this is the first one which didn't break/collapse under the weight of large bath towels, duvet covers and the like! I've had an old one (don't remember the make) for many years which has held countless amounts of the 'heavy stuff' without a murmur, but since our daughter moved back in with us, plus grand-daughter, one wasn't enough. I'd lost faith in finding a similar airer to my old one but having found this one, I'm happy! It's not QUITE as strong as my old one - it's a bit bendy - but it does the job and didn't break after two weeks! (Maybe it's bendy on for the same reason that trees sway in the wind?)For anybody looking for a PROPER airer, this is the one to get.UPDATE JULY 2011. Having used this for 20 months on a very regular basis (three times a week minimum) it's wearing well with no problems at all. It still takes heavy bath towels and duvet covers. For those who say the corners keep falling off, well - just shove them back on again - it's not rocket science! Neither have we ever trapped our fingers when folding it - it just needs a bit of care and attention. In fact I'm going to have to get another one, as my trusty ancient dryer has finally broken after about 15 years of use. I can't even remember what make it was, it's so old!UPDATE OCTOBER 2011. I don't know what people DO to their airers, but I have to say that with constant use, AND with heavy items like bath sheets and king-size duvet covers, our is still going strong after two years with absolutely no problems at all! Still nobody has yet trapped their fingers and far from the hinges coming apart, it's the opposite - they take some prising apart! I'm about to get the second one (having said I was getting one in July, I never got round to it as the old one was just about hanging on, although with a heavy list to port or starboard, depending which way you were looking at it!UPDATE APRIL 2015. They're still going strong, so really can't get better than that. Five years of pretty heavy duty use makes these airers a really good buy (unless they've gone and changed them of course!!)

Minky's Trio Concertina airer is pretty standard in appearance - a gunmetal tubular frame with thick metal rods running between the tubes, on to which your clothes are hung. It also has bolted joints, detachable plastic covers at the upper corners and plastic inserts for feet. It's held upright by two plastic clips located between two of the lower tube sections that self-engage when the airer is raised above a certain height. You push these clips up when you want to lower the airer (taking care to hold it securely so you don't trap your fingers!) It's actually quite easy to do as each clip stays open once you've pushed it,so you can undo one and then the other rather than having to be a contortionist and do both at the same time. The Minky is a relatively heavy thing - something you'll discover if it does ever trap your fingers - but to me this gives an indication of its quality rather than making it overly cumbersome. I've never subjected my airers to especially terrible treatment but as I only do a couple of washes a week they have typically been asked to hold quite a lot of clothes at any one time. I've had my Minky airer for around six months or so and in that time it has coped with pretty much everything I've thrown at it, including a varied mix of large bath towels, bed sheets and coats. I haven't found it to be particularly bendy in use but it will sag a bit if you ask it to hold a very heavy load, as you'd expect.Apart from having to take care when folding it down, the only negative with the Minky is that the detachable plastic corner covers fall off quite a bit if you're not careful. Yes, that really is the only bad thing I can say about it.

The Minky Trio Concertina Tubular Clothes Airer, Silver for me was a good buy and would recommend for other customers looking for a clothes airer which is especially compact for storing but yet able to hold a couple of loads of washing at the one time while not costing too much money.I like it especially for holding the smaller items for drying, the main reason I do like this particular as with eight drying poles in each level and with three levels exactly there is adequate room to dry or air clothes within the home, which is very important because of needing to wash clothes on a daily business like many homes and with the weather patterns we seem to be having it is not suitable because ofelectric prices to be using both the washing machine and the tumble dryer every day.I find the Minky Trio Concertina Tubular Clothes Airer adequate for what I want it for and because it takes little room while being at it's full size I recommend it to any customer who wants a dryer which is strong, takes little room up within the home while being able to put a good amount of clothes on it while still drying the clothes adequately for the price asked it is well worth the money asked.

I read quite a few reviews before I opted to get this airer. It is exactly what I wanted. The one I have is only waist high and although has served me well for many years, I needed another one that holds much more clothes. This Minky Trio airer is perfect for what I wanted. Its very tall, I'm 5,3 and it comes to my chin! Lots and lots of room for all clothes and even hanger holes on each corner for shirts etc. Very easy to put up but you do have to be a bit careful how you take it down so as not to get your fingers caught. This however would be the same with all concertina airers. There's a knack to it!! It seems to be made well, the outer bars are tubular but seem strong. The inner bars are also strong but I wouldn't advise dragging the airer, full of clothes, across the room. This would probably bend the bars. On the whole I am very pleased with this product and hope it will last me for years to come. I will however, keep my children away from it when they want to build camps.....

I've had this airer a while now and I thoroughly recommend it. It is strong, durable and sturdy. I have draped a single duvet over this as well as heavy coats and it has coped with the weight. The slats are well spaced and things dry well on it. It holds a lot of washing. The slats are plastic coated and keep the clothes clean and unmarked. There has been no issues with rust. On the corners there are moulded holes for hanging coat hangers which is a good practical idea for garments which need extra care.It is easy to put up and has slots which keep the airer safely in position and it just as easily concertinas up and stores neatly away. It is fairly lightweight to carry but by no means flimsy. The price I paid for this (under £20)was reasonable and I am sure it's paid for itself by now as I have been using the electric drier far less.It is an excellent product and I would not like to be without it.

I bought this clothes airer after my 10 year old clothes horse finally bit the dust. I was initially reluctant to buy after reading some of the reviews about it breaking, collapsing etc but I really do need to stress that this airer is of excellent quality. it is very sturdy, easy to erect and if you follow the simple instructions it is simple to put down and stores neatly in my pantry. the 4 hanger sections on each corner are really handy for drying cardigans etc and are not at all flimsy as some people stated. I think when people talk about children's fingers being caught when putting airer down they should keep in mind that this is not a toy!!The airer is extremely good quality and value for money and I look forward to using it for years to come. My clothes dry very quickly with the sections and holds a lot more than you may think. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

After 2 months of constant use - loaded with clothes, towels, sheets, etc. - this is a second (additional) Minky Airer for us. It is not perfect: the holes in the corners are not large enough for easy hanging of plastic hangers (but they do fit); you get used to becoming a bit entangled while putting it down - this would be eased by putting the release mechanism at the top rather than bottom where you need to bend down and put your head into the airer to hold the handles; it doesn't fold down as small as I'd like - but then I'd like it to be taller when open.... On the positive: lots of hanging space; vertical takes up less room; they don't scratch our wooden floors when scraped along to move with the sun; they've never fallen down.Oh, a colour choice (at least white) would have been nice - my airer is always in our living space, NOT the laundry room.

I bought this for my wife, who was well pleased with it. The product is well made and finished and stable when erected, which is just a matter of lifting the top section until the automatic locks click into place. Folding down is a bit more awkward because you have to lift the two locking clips whilst trying to lift the rail to release them. However, it's not that bad and you soon find your own technique. Except for the brackets, etc. it's an all metal construction and the cross rails, although small in diameter, are perfectly strong enough for the job in hand. On the top section, a plastic bracket is incorporated at each corner which has a small hole straight through. This allows you to insert a coat hanger for simultaneously drying up to four shirts, or similar - very useful. All round, a good buy and would recommend purchasing.

Living in Spain means that you are unable to buy this type of product in your normal retail shop so Amazon fill a big gap in supplying to expats! This little Clothes Airer is exactly what I want for drying clothes in a small area when the weather is bad. The big plus is the added plastic corner pieces on the top rungs where you can hang coat hangers - a great innovation as it stops the coathanger slipping and sliding all over the place. It is sturdy and easy to pull into an upright position with one hand - however I find that releasing the bars that hold it firmly in place on the way up, are a little difficult to release for putting it down again and the whole thing can seem to collapse quite quickly and trap your fingers as well.I am still trying to find the knack for doing this safely! But - a good price for a useful product.

As a first year at university I needed something to dry my clothes on and this being quite cheap I decided to buy it. I was not disappointed! I have had this for over a month now and I have been able to fit both my 2 weeks worth of washing and my flat mates 2 weeks of washing on it too! The airer is made out of quite a sturdy material and can be easily put away. There are 4 places where you can hang certain clothes which is really useful if you want to try and get the creases out. This is also big enough to fit my single bed linen over to dry so that's a major plus.I can't think of any negatives apart from you have to be very careful when folding it as you can trap your fingers, but that is really your fault if you do.Summary:Worth every pennyVery sturdyCan hold a lot of clothesMay trap your fingers if you're clumsy

This is one of the most sturdy airers I have used. I bought this model in 2008 and I still have a similar Minky model I bought elsewhere in 2005. Both are still in use weekly. They have not rusted, discolored, broken in any way. They even have their original feet. All too often the plastic opening mechanism breaks on clothes airers, or the lower parts of the legs bend because of the weight of clothing. These show none of those signs.I load them up with plenty of washing, including on occasion feather duvets or sleeping bags, but they are still as good as new. My older one has fold-out plastic tips on the top corners for putting hangers on, and this model has holes instead.Either is useful for adding extra capacity to the airer. When eventually I need another airer, I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

So i have had one of these dryers for a while now and have been meaning to review it for as long!I think its really good and a very reasonable size. I have just bought another one because I managed to "stumble" into the last one and it couldnt quite handle that much weight :D !! I had noticed a few of the more recent reviews saying about handles failing etc which I cant say Ive had a problem with, and I do load it up as much as possible when I use it. I dont however fold it down very often so this may be one of the reason I havent had any problems with them failing!!The foot print when it is up isnt all that large and it does hold a good wash load for drying.Folds down reasonable small and compact (think the last time mine was folded though was when it arrived!!)

A sturdy dryer that has plenty of spokes to hang clothing over. The spokes are quite close together however it still does the job provided you leave it to dry in a well ventilated space. The holes in the corners for hangers are okay but I wouldn't recommend using them unless you know your clothes will be able to dry quickly, since anything hung on them will just prevent more airflow to other clothing. I've had it for about a year now and it was a good size for just under a week's load of washing for one person. I lived in halls and it wasn't too wide for a small box room. I recall it arriving very quickly and saved me a lot of money on tumble dryers. It's also good to note it hasn't rusted at all so far and the quality and build has stayed the same.

I bought this to replace a similar clothes airer I purchased at Argos which was actually more expensive. It lasted 3 weeks before collapsing in the middle of the night after one of the plastic hinges broke. The Minky clothes airer seems a lot more durable so hopefully it will last a lot longer! The rail positions and spacing seem to be very cleverly thought out. I can fit about 2 loads of washing on it and even with the rails all full there still seems to be enough open space to let clothes dry sufficiently fast. The coat hanger holes are also a welcome addition and work well. I'll definitely buy another one when I eventually need more space. It also holds a Royal Warrant which gives me a lot more peace of mind.

I had a metal airer for about 20 years. When that needed replacing I wanted to buy this one but my husband wanted a wooden one. So we got a wooden one. It was the worst buy, unstable and eventually broke after about 3 months. So I then got this one. It is extremely stable, looks good and I can tell that it's going to last. Brilliant purchase. Excellent value for money.Having used it for a few weeks now I still think it's brilliant. You can even put it up one handed. The other day my washing was outside on the line, it started to rain so I quickly gathered all washing in one arm, got inside, pulled up this airer with my free hand,it locked into position straight away and was ready to hang washing on.
