The aesthetic of these pans is second to none in my opinion. They are robust, stack nicely and the lids do position to create a small air gap if required (someone stated otherwise, that is in correct). If you're reading this you're probably already pretty set on these pans as they're best on the market and at 340 quid if memory serves, the set of 5 is outstanding value. All-Clad is a competitor but they dont stock well in the UK. My chief criticisms (if i must) are as follows:This set contains a 26cm diameter deep casserole (which is a thing of beauty), i wish the Le Creuset range had a few larger (deep) pans than this. They have a 30cm shallow casserole which i bought seperately, and a 28cm (might be getting my measurements wrong here) 'deep' sauteuse pan, but all of these large pans are basically the same volume, around 6 litres. So when youre feeding many guests etc you likely need to resort to other pans, which is a pity as id have liked to extended this set to include some (say) 10 and 15 litre pans for large curries and soups, they would look even more spectacular at these sizes. The Le Creuset branding is etched into the handles, which could in time fill with dirt, albeit this may just accentuate the branding so may even be quite attractive. These pans are sandwiched stainless-aluminium-stainless the entire length of the base and walls, so they do cook differently than many cheap single ply stainless plans which are only good for boiling water frankly. It is very attractive with stainless pans that you must learn to cook with 'the bind' i.e. the bits that start to burn onto the pan that add concentrated flavour to your dishes. You must therefore standover dishes and watch them with a greater imperative than with non-stick pots. So dont buy these if you are after a pretty set of pans but cannot cook or are not interested in creating additional work for yourself standing around in the kitchen. It takes a little recalibrating of your cooking technique, but im pleased to say that with the thick sandwich construction it is not as quick to burn food on as i had feared, it has been an easier transition from non stick to stainless than i imagined. Although there is still a critical 10 minute window in cooking most (for example) curries, where you need to realise it is binding to the bottom, and then turn the heat down. This does mean standing around for the first 30-40min over a dish so you actually closely supervise it coming to the boil.Final comment, nigh on all of the pans in this set of 5 have double rather than long single handles. They store well, but i slightly miss long handles for a few of these sizes, i will no doubt expand the set to include some.I dont believe there is a more functional or attractive set of stainless pans than these, at any price. At 343 pounds theyre exceptional value.

Very pleased with this purchase, the pans conduct heat well and look good. I'm confident they will stand up to many years use.I particularly like the attention to detail - the pouring edge is exactly right; the handles are comfortable; and the pans are well balanced which disguises their weight (they are not "heavy" but weigh more than the capsule base and non-stick alternatives).I have a couple of comments - not quite criticisms but something you should be aware of...- The short helper handles and the lid handles do get hotter than you might expect so you need to keep a cloth to hand.- The volume markings inside the pan are only inked on the surface and if you use an abrasive scourer you will scratch them away (as I discovered after a couple of days). So use a non-stick scourer and a bit more elbow grease if you want to keep the insides shiny. It would be better if the markings were etched, because part of the advantage of a stainless steel pan is that you should be able to treat them a bit rougher without damaging them. The same applies to the exterior finish - it is elegantly brushed at the factory but if you scour them you will lose that effect.- The insides of all my pans have a "rainbow" discolouration already, and I've been careful not to overheat them. It affects the appearance but not the performance.I haven't made much use of the non-stick frypan but each time it has performed perfectly, even without fat, and so far there are no signs of damage to the coating. It is also nicely shaped with a curved side and a good size for a 3-egg omelette and family cooking.

I bought the three pan set exactly one year ago. Here are pictures of the pans today, after a year of use. I use the middle sized one almost every day, and the other two four or five times a week. They are always cleaned in the dishwasher on a normal cycle. As you can see, there are some scuffs from usage, but overall they are still in very good condition.I was initially concerned about not getting non-stick pans as I usually had done before. However, these are a joy to use. The only issue with marks - I once let some oil heat up for too long in one pan and it made a yellow stain. However, it went after a few runs through the dishwasher as I used the pan again with the stain. They retain heat very well,so once heated you can turn down the power. I use on an electric hob. The lids don't have holes, so you have to balance them slightly if you want to let steam out. I don't find the pan handles get at all hot, and the lids not much.Very happy with them, and I recommend them. The Le Creuset non-stick pan I have hasn't aged so well, but these stainless steel ones are great. I'd keep the non-stick for frying, and these for everything else.

These pans are absolutely superb. They come extremely well packaged and when you remove each one it instantly lets you know that it's top quality. Each pan is suprisingly heavy yet very well balanced so they aren't cumbersome but it's worth knowing if you have weak hands or wrists although there is a solid handle on the front of each pan so you have two points of lifting. The handles are attached by large stainless steel rivets that look over engineered so inspire further confidence. One major attraction for me is that the pans do not have any hollow components, I have othe pots and pans, some extremely expensive, that have hollow handles and when you pull them out of the dishwasher the handles empty rancid dishwasher water over all the clean dishes. These do not have that issue. The finish looks beautiful and the pans can be hung up on a hook through the hole in the pan handle and the lid can be slipped over the handle of pan first so they get hung up together. These are expensive but you won't remember how much they were in fourty years when your still using them!

Bought these as a gift as I have had a set for many years after they were initially launched at the Good Food Show. I previously had Prestige stainless steel copper bottomed pans which don't even begin to compare. These pans are lighter than the cast iron Le Creuset range though reassuringly weighty. This is a high activity kitchen & the pans are used every day. They are still as good as new. I have over the years had several 'events' which led to a burned pan (my fault!!!) and convinced that the pan was ruined. However after a soak and a scrub the following morning they always come up like new. The gift was for a family member who had grown up with these pans and wanted to use them in their own kitchen.I'm happy to see that over the years,Le Creuset have added a second handle. Much easier when the pan is full & heavy.I have read the current reviews as regards using salt & cold water discolouring the surface, but I have to say it is not a fault I have ever experienced, Thoroughly recommended.

Great pans, I love them so far (only had them a few weeks) - the heat distribution is good, they’re heavy, but because of the double handle design, they’re balanced and the weight isn’t difficult to manage. The insides do get scratched if mashing potatoes with a metal masher, but that’s to be expected I guess. They clean up really easily (we’ve been careful not to use any metal scourers or things that would affect the surface too much and cause things to stick). My one gripe, like others have said, is the annoying lids that slip badly when you’re trying to angle them to simmer with a gap. However, we found an easy workaround... as shown in the photos. Given the price of the pans, this awful design is something I wouldn’t have expected to have to deal with. That said, I read the reviews and went ahead with the purchase anyway, because I couldn’t find a good enough alternative without getting a remortgage on the house and buying Mauviel or equivalent. Happy enough with them.

Top quality, and not as heavy as I expected. I am removing PTFE (non-stick) from the kitchen as it fails slowly on saucepans, quickly on bakeware. These pans *are* expensive, but they only need to last twice or thrice as long as the ones they are replacing (Circulon, 3 years) to be cheaper. I reckon they will manage that. They look good too. Not sure how important that is.The insides of the pans are a single piece of stainless steel with rounded 'corners' - so easy to clean. They have simple lids that just sit on top of the pan. This may seem less secure, and I am not sure that 'tight fitting' is a fair description. However, the lids, (and the pans in general) have very few joins to trap food, and non where it matter. The lids on the previous pans were glass+stainless+plastic and trapped food whenever they were used to strain the cooked food. Cooking detritus built up where the material joined - a potential hygene issue. Non of that with these pans.

I purchased these saucepans as I have a new ceramic hob cooker that I can't use my existing saucepans on.They were well packaged and arrived promptly as is usually the case with anything purchased from Amazon. They cook very well, and on low heat most of the time. There is a 'however' here though - the largest pan (20cm) and the mid pan (18cm) have both become discoloured and marked inside. The smaller of the two, I was advised by Le Creuset to wipe with lemon juice and sure enough the marking disappeared. The largest pan though, appears to be getting worse. I've contacted Le Creuset who want to inspect the pan (I did send them digital images of them). I've stuck RIGIDLY to the recommendations of how to use and clean these pans, going as far as to purchase a new set of cooking utensils also.Away from this problem though, I think these pans are very good, albeit expensive - and they ARE expensive at £169.00. I hope they last until I die!

I thought long and hard about spending this much money on a set of pans but they are worth every penny. My step daughter hit the nail on the head when she said that using quality equipment makes the job easier and more enjoyable and in the case of these pans she was spot on.A nice range of sizes and I find I end up using the smaller pots instead of saucepans as can go from hob to oven to keep things hot for later.Lids are all great, well designed and little content running down the pot sides (not making a mess)When buying the set a considerable saving is made over individual items. The set is not available in the UK from Le Creuset and comes from Germany.Don't let this put you off as the delivery was speedy.Only downside is a little discolouration in the bottom of the pans after use but this is normal and is mentioned the the care instructions.I have bought other items from the range and will buy more in the future.

I've known LeCreuset for several years now, more than 8 I think as we do have outlet were we live. I own few non-stick coated pans and a 24cm non-stick coated stew pot (received replacement) for few years now and experienced few issues mainly that they do do scratch after a while although we have had been very careful using them. I've decided its time for a different ones LeCreuset produces. My husband (a fan of stainless steel and mashed potatoes!) will definitely use these beauties. Every one from the set ticks all our requirements re sizes. We are still to experience to cook with stainless steel lids as the non-stick range were/are sold with the glass lids. Excellent service, delivery was speedy - we got our pack 2 days earlier! It's just great for Christmas cooking! The stainless steel subtle mat looks so pretty! I hope these will last until we retire (we are in our 30+) or longer!

These plans look and feel quality inside and out. Real heft to them, which is a nice change compared to the cheap low quality high street stuff made in vadt quantities. Replaced a 5yr old set of non stick pans which were losing their coating. These are a much healthier choice, no nasty non stick chemicals, and they're built to last a lifetime. We have a 5 ply saute pan from Made In and these look and feel so much better, despite only being 3 ply. Easily cleaned with a soft cloth and fairy liquid.Note - these conduct heat really well, our electric ceramic hob is probably a little too much for them on full power. We never really need to go past power level 7 for a good sear, 5 medium heat, power 2 is a gentle simmer, 1 is keep warm. Our old pans would have needed 9, 7, 4 and 2 respectively. Just takes a little getting used to.

I'm an Engineer, I design stuff for a living. As such I tend to be very critical about product design and products that are poorly designed and rubbish quality - ask my girlfriend, I bore her senseless with geeky rants on a regular basis.I love Le Creuset's 3-ply stainless range because it's well designed, understated, very well made, and will clearly last for many years. These pans have the heavy, substantial feel of a quality item, and if you're mostly concerned with function and ergonomic design, and want something that is very good at the actual job of cooking, then the 3-ply range is highly recommended. If you're more interested in trendy lifestyle statements, and can put up with the numerous shortcomings of the cast iron stuff (weight, fragility, utility etc.), then cast iron is probably for you.

Got these over other pans based on reviews and so far they are great. New induction hob forced a change so read plenty of feedback was about to get procook but found dented lids on sale so change to these. They are expensive but you do tend to keep pans for a long time.Only disappointment was the frying pan exchanged before use due to tiny bumps on none stick surface, this was done so will see how we go. I have read a number of people have had issues with these when the Teflon peels off.Work brilliantly with an induction hob which has a very controllable heat level, before this you would have never got me off gas now I wouldn't want to go back.So far I love cooking with them, they are heavy but you get used to that and what else you can say they hold the hot stuff in place while you cook with them!

These pans are, as expected from Le Creuset, a solid piece of equipment, well built and a feel of quality. For induction hobs, they perform superbly - the lids fit well and so simmering vegetables takes less water and really do taste better. Cooking thick sauces is now so much easier and requires less stirring as there are no appreciable hot-spots. This also means that they are really easy to clean without harsh scrubbing.A feature that I really like is that when you need to stir the contents during cooking, the handle on the lid is large enough to slide over the pan handle when the lid is turned upside down, saving putting it down on a worksurface - a little thing but really convenient! In summary,a fantastic purchase - wish I'd bought these years ago!

Plus:- very well designed, well balanced- excellent quality- heavy and stable- the second handle is extremely useful and large enough- stainless steel = healthy cooking- they heat very well and quick- perfect and very useful dimensionsMinus:- they do stick. I tried some rice with milk, stirring from time to time and it was sticking to the bottom ... but at least not burning and smoking, so it didn't change the taste.- they loose their shine inside after some usage- the priceI would definitely recommend them and I do not regret buying them. I found them to be the basic sauce pans in your kitchen. Even if they stick a bit,you can cook healthy with them and they have for sure a longer life than non-sticking pans that can be scratched easily.
