The Betty is an extremely stylish etagere that will readily complement modern interiors. It's great to find such a stand that is clean and contemporary in appearance. Do check the dimensions listed prior to purchase as it's not very large. That said, it's an ideal size for this household. I'd wanted one of these for some time - the price was a deterrent. On reflection, the Betty's likely to be in almost daily use so perhaps the price is not too steep after all. It sits perfectly in my gloss white kitchen. 'White' can take many forms but here it is a pleasing pure white and its top surfaces are high gloss too. I love its simplicity. Each tier slots together and takes apart with no fuss.The three tiers may be used separately, all together or with the top two or lower two tiers only. Incidentally the 'impossible' combination is to have the small tier in the middle of the three - that won't work. But each tier can be rotated around to create an infinite number of looks. Though the top tier is small, it would work well for nuts or a few chocolates. The biggest tier would work for sandwiches for two or three people, the centre tier for cake or biscuits. In use of course each tier can be taken off if desired to hand round the goodies on offer. It's immediately obvious that when used as a three tiered stand it must be lifted from the base. Had it been made so that it could have been lifted loaded from the top a more complicated way of joining the tiers would nave been needed. As it is, simplicity is one of the real virtues of this object. Though the Betty will really come into its own at birthdays and on festive occasions, it's really not something you're likely to haul out only once a year. It's so useful! I had intended giving four stars but its sheer versatility and style plus the amount of use I'll get out of it truly warrant a five star marking. I'd highly recommend!
