I thought all umbrellas were alike. Why would I need a $50 umbrella? I was wrong. This is the Lexus of umbrellas. It's not any heavier than the cheap $10 umbrellas but is superior in many ways.I could tell this is quality the moment i took off the bag. The bag holder is made of strong material and has a zipper to loosen the tightness. It makes it easier to put on and remove. At the end of the bag is a little loop that I use to pull the bag off. A++ Well designed. The umbrella is also brilliant. It's all made of top notch quality materials. It's also very well balanced and easy to hold. It's actually fun and satisfying to use the auto open functionality. It is very well controlled unlike other umbrellas that suddenly launch and open.I click on it again to close it and push it down to shorten it. It's easy to wrap and put away with its large straps and velcro.I had the chance to try it in the wind and rain and it performed admirably. At no point was it unsteady and wobbly. The stem and handle are tough and solid. I can't attest to how it stands up over time but if you like cool functional things, this is the umbrella for you.

The Knirps T200 is a nice umbrella. The material is thin and lightweight, but still keeps the rain out. It doesn't have the vents, like other premium umbrellas, but it holds up on very windy days regardless. The opening mechanism is easy-to-use, but closing it still takes the same amount of force as other umbrellas. The flap to close the umbrella is strong and makes the umbrella small enough to fit in a backpack when closed. It doesn't make it as small as when I received the umbrella and I can't get the umbrella cover to cover the umbrella again. I didn't expect that it would fit back in the case, since I think that's unrealistic, but I would have preferred that this umbrella didn't come with a cover. It seems like such a waste. The last umbrella I purchased was about half the price of this one and it works just as well. Not taking price into account at all, the Knirps is an excellent umbrella, but people who are price conscious may want to find a less expensive choice.

Everything about this umbrella itself is superb. I have found it hard lately to get a quality compact size umbrella. Instead they all seem to be bigger and have more ribs. That doesn't work for me where I need an umbrella good enough yet small enough to use among throngs of people in the city. The size here is ideal and it is very user friendly. I have found it to be very durable and thus far it has stood up well to heavy rain even when there was strong winds. I rave this umbrella. There is a huge but here and that is the price. The umbrella reminds me of the totes brand which were always very durable, compact and available at a reasonable price. The price of this umbrella is just too high and nothing about it explains why the price is so high. Unless it was a magic umbrella that could honestly guarantee it would never break or eventually blow up in the wind the price is not warranted. Great umbrella but hard to recommend due to the price.

This is definitely a premium collapsible umbrella. My problem is only that the price is a bit too premium. Spending over $50 on an umbrella that is not 10x better than the $5 collapsible umbrellas makes me not want to give it 5 stars. It's definitely not 10 times better.I could buy 10 cheap umbrellas and probably have the same or better life as this one umbrella. But if you don't mind paying the premium price, then this product and umbrella should last a long time.We have a wasteful society culture of making disposable products. So cheap that they last for just one year.Collapsible umbrellas have a tendency to break more easily than the non collapsible ones because they have more moving parts. So if you want an umbrella to last for many years, do not buy collapsible one. However, if you're concerned about the waste that we generate, then you might like this German made umbrella.

I am particular about a lot of my stuff. I seem to notice small things that bug me. I mean, I don't return things or not buy them, but I seem to think to myself "why didn't they make this part longer?" or "why didn't they put a handle on this?" etc. I can't think of anything about this that I don't like! I like that it is auto open AND close. I carry things to work and don't like trying to juggle things at the door (usually in the rain) trying to close it. I realize that the stem doesn't go all the way down when you click it to close. No automatic umbrella I have ever used has done that, so I don't consider it a shortcoming of this one.The mechanics are nice and smooth. The fabric is nicely attached to the ribs.I do like umbrellas with more ribs, but that is just my preference. This is one you would be proud to lend someone (although make sure you get it back!!!!)

Because of the negative review from one year ago, I really put this umbrella through its paces, opening and closing it several times and using it in rainy and windy circumstances. It performed smoothly and perfectly. However, like most travel sized umbrellas, it’s opening mechanism does a great job of completely raising the umbrella, but when pushed to bring it down, the umbrella only comes down halfway. This is so irritating when you’re shopping or whatever and need to raise and lower the umbrella frequently. You have to struggle with a wet umbrella, and force it down until it clicks because the button won’t work unless it’s all the way down. Note to Knirps:spend less money on your fancy cover, which I will have lost by next week, and figure out a better closure. Otherwise, the umbrella is not worth $50.

I honestly never knew there was such a thing as a $50 umbrella until I got this. I lived in San Francisco and in the 6 years I lived there, I have gone through 4 umbrellas..mostly due to winds. This umbrella is reinforced and doesn't bend as easily. I've had my umbrellas break while being turned I side out in the wind and rain..walking I to class looking like a dish sponge. This comes with its own carrying case, and strap. As far as built, is sure is much better quality than any other umbrella I've ever had. The covering is nice and thick and the seams where it is sewn together look very well reinforced. If I get 2 years of use out of this, then it would have paid for itself compared to the others I have bought in the past.It is nice and compact to easily fit a backpack or handbag.

For those that want a good quality, travel-size umbrella that will fit in their carry-on so they don't need to check a suitcase on their flight, this is a very good umbrella. I like the open-and-close feature with the button as well.Unlike the Knirps "flat" compact umbrella, which I found was not sturdy in the wind, this one has a stronger build and I have not had any problems with it yet even in mildly windy rain. I haven't had an opportunity to try it out in strong winds yet.The only drawback to this umbrella is the high price. You should look at various options and decide where the right mix between quality and price is for you.

This high-quality umbrella is a decent size (big enough for two people to cuddle under!). It ismade from a thick, cloth-like material with a solid frame and handle. When opened, it is sturdyand reliable. It is not too heavy. Once folded up, there is a secure Velcro strap to hold it togetheralong with a wrist strap for toting it along. I really love this umbrella. It is a great quality one,and I so appreciate its reliability and comfort when it is really raining. (No more cheap ones forme that flop and fold in the rain and wind). I definitely recommend this umbrella and may evenbuy another one for a holiday gift.

This has a small footprint. It's small, compact, and lightweight. Its zippered storage bag makes it easy to take it out and put back in. So, it can neatly store inside the door compartment of my car. Or on the side of my backpack or inside my bigger bag. Its open button is responsive and opens smoothly. However, its not as easy or smooth to close. I have to wrestle with it a bit. Just like I do my other umbrellas of similar size. I do like how the canopy material wicks the rain away. I can see the water pooling in little droplets on the canopy. Instead of it flowing down like with my other umbrellas.Recommended.

I live in Chicago and things get quite windy here when there is inclement weather. I cannot say that this umbrella did any better or worse than any of my other umbrellas against the wind. The handle is too small. I suppose this is good for storing the umbrella in a bag, but it means that while holding it you may need to brace the shaft of the umbrella with your other hand on a windy day. The button is also rather small and stiff. The velcro enclosure works well to secure the umbrella in a closed position. All in all, a very average umbrella.

This umbrella is problematic at best. For the price, I was expecting much much much more. This umbrella feels and uses like any other store bought, inexpensive umbrella. I struggle to see where the quality and design is based on the price. The umbrella acts like any other umbrella I’ve ever had. I don’t see any difference in the material or construction of it to justify such a lofty expectation. If this umbrella was fifteen dollars - it’d be perfect but, based on price and what you get - I can’t necessarily recommend it.

This is a very solid umbrella and feels well made. It is compact and comes with a storage sleeve. The handle feels like it has a decent grip. I've had umbrellas that ended up having grips that ultimately failed but I will update this after frequent use if I see that it doesn't measure up. Overall, my initial impression is that this is a very well designed umbrella and it should last a long time.At the time of this review the retail sale price was around $42 which is reasonable for the quality.

This isn't the smallest umbrella, but it's quite small. It's easy to throw in a bag and forget about it until you need it. But that comes with a price, the canopy and shaft are very small/short. If you don't position yourself exactly in the middle of it, you'll get wetter than you think you should for having an umbrella. This is exacerbated by the not long at all shaft. BUT you get this umbrella because you want a small thing that doesn't take up space in your bag. And that's the compromise.

22.10.2019

This umbrella opens and closes swiftly with the touch of the button. It is very responsive. The handle and stick are sturdy which is goof because it will help the umbrella withstand wind. I have not tried it in the wind yet but I think it will fare well because it is sturdy and well constructed. It comes with a pouch, although once it is open it is a bit tricky to put it back in it. The umbrella is compact and not so heavy, but it's not flimsy which is good.
