Chops most things I sic it onto pretty well, although dates tend to clog (although, to be honest, dates are an annoyance whatever you use on them). Washing could be easier but is no more awkward than you have a right to expect for an item that works like this, but I didn't buy it to wash, I bought it to chop things.

Our original autochop finally died after 40 years of good service. Replaced it with this one which is very nicely put together and does a good job. Would have given 5 stars if there was a way to lock the blades open for cleaning. Our 40-year old one did that too.

I have tried several similar food choppers and this is the best. Robust and cuts even the skins on tomatoes. The compartment for the food is a bit small, but otherwise this is an excellent device
