Please note - This Amazon listing is a bit confusing as it's for different types of laptop bags so make sure you check which bag each review is for. This review is for the Topload so some aspects may differ to the other variants. My last laptop bag was a Targus one which had come with my 1st laptop back in the early 90s. And I thought it was amazing yet it only had a front pocket and 3 inside ones so nothing, I say NOTHING in comparison with this offering from Kensington. This bag has style and space in spades as we say. It's a good sized bag to begin with and even before you get to putting your laptop away you're going to be caught up in the wonder of discovering just how much extra space it has and hunting to find things to put in the 101 hiding places. It's a veritable Aladdin's cave for anything and everything you might want to take to work or elsewhere with you. From one side to the other you begin with a double zipped full size front pocket which is where the primary protection lies firstly as it has a really hard thick durable piece of "padding" that will certainly go a long way to ensuring your laptop doesn't get easily banged if you keep facing outwards when on the ground. Before you even open that pocket though have a hunt for the first hidden opening - Give up?? Well, have a closer look at the Kensington logo band that’s attached with rivets on the front – just looks like a nice piece of logo stitching but no – if you pull carefully in the middle you’ll discover it’s attached with a small piece of Velcro in the middle and thus will lift up to provide yet another place to stick something – not quite sure what, but something!! Or perhaps it’s just a handy additional grip to ensure you’ve a handhold when standing in places you want to keep the bag close.Inside that compartment there are 3 zipped sections - one looking like a regular pencil case almost while the others could hold business cards and maybe small notepads etc.The main middle section has a large single padded side pocket in 3 sections with elastic in between the sections thus allowing for a lot of extra width, (but this should be used with caution - despite the padding, it’s best not to overload sections that will invariably rest on top of a delicate laptop lid (at least my Asus can’t cope with such)), the central laptop section, then another cardboard stiffened pocket which isn’t fixed at its base so again able to accommodate more A4 documents etc,Then the final zipped section is the one with the most pockets and spaces for business cards, pens, small gadgets, notebooks etc, etc. The only slight downside to this section possibly is that it’s gusseted so doesn’t open flat – probably to keep items from falling out especially if you maybe use the little “aerated” pockets (you know – the webbing kind?) to put money in. Unlike the pockets in the first section, none of those in this one have zips so be careful what you put in the pockets. The only surprise perhaps is that there aren’t pockets as well on the outside of this section but that’s a good safety feature since zips on such pockets make for easy thefts With this bag nobody can nick anything easily without most likely being seen or felt. Finally they’ve provided 2 really solid comfortable handles and a crossover padded shoulder strap with nice chunky easy open clips – I did wonder how safe they perhaps are in a crowded environment as even with a lot of downward weight keeping them in place, it wouldn’t be hard to maybe unclip one & grab the laptop from an unsuspecting owner. But then again, if security is really a huge concern for you, you’ll probably spend a tiny bit more & get one of Kensington’s padlocked offerings. Otherwise, this is a superb case for anyone needing space and solid protection for their devices.

This Kensington Contour Topload Laptop Bag is designed for both a 15.6" laptop and anything else you may need for a trip to the office or even an overnight stay. The inside pocket are very generous; the main pocket has a laptop compartment with a thick padded side and a material side that contains a velcro strap to keep the laptop in place (it's still fairly sturdy without it), plus 2 other sections divided by a material covered card divider. This is great for adding a large tablet, headset, power supply etc and provides ample space for all these things. The front-facing zipped section (with the logo at the front) has three separate zipped netted pockets and a single fabric pocket in the middle, ideal for stationary, keys and cards. The back pocket, the one that would be nearest your body when carrying, has a keychain holder, pencil/pen holders and even more mesh and fabric pockets (5 mesh and 3 fabric) so you're pretty spoiled for choice here. The whole thing is finished off in good quality black rainproof material that catches the light and looks elegant. On top there are carrying handles that fit in to each other for easier carrying plus a shoulder strap that clips across the bag in a diagonal. The strap I would have liked longer so you could have the choice of draping across the other shoulder, courier style, but it's still good and has a rubberised shoulder pad. The back is contoured slightly to fit the body when worn with the shoulder strap for comfort and you can (just about) tell.Overall, it's a really well made bag, I've used it this week for taking my laptop to work on the bus and it's comfortable, though shoulder straps on all bags tend to fall off my shoulder (I usually stick to rucksacks) and this was no exception, i think it's just the way my shoulders are angled!

The key aspect of any laptop case is clearly going to be whether it offers sufficient protection for the contents, principally being the laptop itself. From that perspective, this case seems to fulfil that brief quite well as not only are the outer sides of the case are very well padded, the design means that the laptop is positioned in the middle of the case, so that all of the outer storage pockets should take the brunt of any impact. There are also plenty of additional storage pockets (two on the back and one on the front, both secured with zips, along with three compartments on the inside) and each of the external pockets contain a variety of zipped net pockets and pen holders. Admittedly, the case is quite large and bulky however, this means that there is plenty of additional space to hold additional computer components e.g. a mouse, charger and possibly even a small portable keyboard. There should also be plenty of additional space to hold a variety of documents and similar sized items. It also comes with a handy shoulder strap, meaning that you have the option to either carry the laptop bag in your hand or over your shoulder, albeit, if you've filled the bag to capacity, I always found that it can be sore on the hands or shoulder and that a backpack is much easier to carry (which this is clearly not).Given the protective qualities that this case offers, I see no reason not to recommend it. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because as much as I like it, it's still a laptop case and that's hard to get excited about! It is also quite expensive and therefore, I can fully appreciate how you might be tempted by much cheaper options, which arguably aren't of significantly lower quality.

There's really only one drawback to this well designed laptop bag and that's the weight. It's not any heavier than its competition, and usually weight does equal protection, so it's more of a consideration than a complaint.I've used many laptop bags though the years and this is hands down my favourite one. It has so many pockets and pouches, I can empty my tray and go to a meeting without using jacket pockets etc. In fact, what happened, is that my office became tidier and things started living in the case. That was an unexpected bonus. The key features for me were:Anti-slip strap. The padded part of the strap has a funky material that reminds me of those bugs you can't shake off.Great for keeping the bag in place through longer walks or bust environments. The robust design. Corners are all reinforced and linings are walled so stop anything getting damaged as well as poking through. The lining for the laptop compartment is soft lined too - no damage occurring in there. Clips and zips are all metal - they are going to last. The handle. It moulds together to create one handle, making carrying it so much less bulky and more comfortable. Genius. The feet. No chunky feet to catch on anything, however there are small rounded discs to keep it off the ground and still very stable. There're loads of smaller benefits and all in, they make a fantastic bag.NB: The sales aid attached to the bag and the images on Amazon show a different Contour laptop bag. This bag does not have a vertical zip to extra-easy access at the front, but a standard zip which has two zippers to open as usual. I've attached a photo to help manage your expectations if all stock is like this.

This robust but business-like looking bag, has lots of room for a 15.6" laptop and a lot more too! It's corners are reinforced and its four plastic feet which stop it sliding on a slippery floor all have their place. The solid plastic handles are the thing you first notice about this bag, they slot inside one another for secure carrying and the front zip around pocket opens up to reveal storage for a mobile phone an mp3 player or a recharging power bank, a key clip a number of slots for office supplies and 5 pen holders. There are also an additional 5 mesh pockets which will keep things together for you.Between the front pocket and the front handle is a zip open slot that is ideal for a wallet or personal documents such as a passport.Between the handles is the biggest zipped area that will happily hold a 15.6" laptop, charger and accesories. The side which will hold the laptop is padded underneath and at both sides and there is a velcro fastener over this area. There is also a detachable shoulder strap provided connects above this substancial pocket.THe other side pocket is reinforced and ample storage room for documents and other transportable items and has three mesh pockets with zips. The nylon surface of the bag is washable with a damp cloth and easy to remove stains from. Its black colouration reduces the likelyhood of stains and keeps it looking good. This is a really well designed bag that is designed to keep your laptop safe and keep it and you looking professional at all times. A delightful bag that I look forward to using for years to come - I love it!

This bag is very strongly made. It has three compartments inside, secured by a double external zip, one for your laptop, and I guess the other two could easily carry an iPad or such like. Or if you are like me and dash off to conferences and such at short notice, you might just squeeze a shirt, socks etc into the other two. One bit of this that I could not quite get my brain around is that one side of the bag is very strong and stiff, and would provide great protection for your laptop, whereas the other side is rather softer- but protective also- but I couldnt figure out why only one side had this protection. The bag has two outer cavities both zipped, one on each side, arranged for pens, usbs, note paper etc. The bag itself has a shoulder strap, plus a grooved handle- thus one handle sits within the groove to give an easy carry at your side, without lacerating your hands as is often the case. It is not light, and with a lap top and all the other stuff, its going to add up to quite a carry, but the bag is strong and the protection afforded is well worth the weight, I think. Do not think you will get a larger screen size into this case, you will not. And if you could, you would prob ruin the zips anyway. No fault at all with this strong bag

I have a bit of a thing for a good quality bag. So when I saw this I just had to snap it up.First off it is advertised as a laptop bag, and it is. But often laptop bags are slim with a bit of space for the laptop and a small amount more. Not this. This is a proper sized bag and once your laptop is in there is oddles of space for other things. The main compartment is split into three and I use one for my laptop, one for my iPad and the largest for a brolly, toolkit, torch, wallet and space for more. The front zipper packet is a wide but shallow compartment where you can put keys, pens, wires and other bits and bobs and it is easy to access,And at the back there is a thinner pockets for things like paperwork. It is tough and sturdy. With some strong plastic handles and a nice strong shoulder strap. When worn the concave part that goes against your side really does feel more comfortable and overall it is much better to walk with.Overall a strong, comfy and good capacity bag.

First of all it should be noted that there appears to be some labelling confusion resulting from the manufacturer itself. I was expecting to get the 15.6" bag, and indeed the attached labelling said it was the 15.6" one but it looks significantly different to the picture on that label. In fact it looks exactly like the picture of the 17" one on this product page. But with my 15.6" laptop inside there doesn't seem to be that much extra wriggle room. Without a 17" laptop and can't really check for sure.Having got that out of the way, this is a good laptop bag, plenty of pockets & pouches inside. The carry strap is comfortable and the way it is attached to opposite corners along with the slightlycurved back of the bag helps it stay more towards your hind quarters and lie comfortably when carrying rather than try to swing forward. The bag itself is not quite as light as I had hoped though so does contribute significantly to the total weight.

Compartmentally and construction wise this is an excellent bag, separations in the main compartment center help, there's Velcro over lays to hold your laptop at the heart of the bag, the auxiliary pockets are afforded in two types, plain pockets and those with mesh inners or folds, so you can hold your mouse, wires, charger, pens and bits separately, it's really well thought out. There's also a document pocket, and a separate half pouch which help to separate bits and bobs out.The handle itself is a nickle clasp onto fabric fold overs, stitched and firm. All the zips are nickel finger grips and add a layer of quality to the over all use.The shoulder strap has a rubberized, textured, back so carrying the weighty amount of kit this bag holds it helps hold it on your shoulder, how long this would last with daily use we shall see.But this has made carrying my 10+ kilos of laptop, hubs, mouse and kit from client to client site a breeze.

Very impressed with this bag..in lots of ways. I suppose it's fair to say that laptop bags might be a dying breed in this age of mobile phones and tablets eliminating the need to carry a bulky laptop around with you.But.....I'm still "Old School". The bag is a nice snug for for my Dell 15" laptop, it says snug on the description, and that's just what it is...not much chance of it moving around. So that is the compartment for the laptop itself. But you aalso get a vert well protected carry bag, shoulder or carry handle option. Inside...more space for paperwork files etc that you might need. You also get to other zip open sections with pen holders and things...and on the other side, sort of net storage pouched for stuff like your mains adaptor and external hard drive. Definitely a luxury model this...its more like having your office drawers in the bag too. Five Stars....without a doubt.

This is an impressive design for anyone moving between offices with a laptop, paper files, ruler, pens, medication, network cable, mouse mat, mouse, portable hard drive, sandwiches, banana and can of pop. Lots of zip up pockets (I don't think I have found them all yet) and the wheels are wide apart which makes it very stable when negotiating the cracks in paving slabs. One minor point was a small strip of plastic glued to the bottom rear edge; it fell off in the first week. Rather than sending the case back, I got some superglue and fixed in on in no time. A clever compartment is to the rear of the handle. By putting some items in here, the case remains upright when other would tip forward.

Spot on. It's not too big, will hold a large laptop and lots of clobber. Love the two big compartments and another one at the back to put tech in. A good smaller but for pens with zips and slots etc. And a small wallet for keys passports etc. Great handle and pulley. Only shame is the big compartments compartments don't open out like a brief case and it is absent zip hoops to padlock the compartments. There is a strap at the side for a water bottle. The pics on amazon don't do it justice.

A number of colleagues had previously bought the smaller Kensington Roller Case, and these battle worn examples bore testament to their durability in the face of robust handling. I chose the overnight case for the extra storage, given that I 'hot-desk' and have no storage space at work. The handle feels sturdy, even at full load and it rolls well. The fabric and zips are good and strong and the stitching is well executed. I believe that the product represents value for money.

The bag is excellent. The design is clever. There seems to be a pocket for everything and you can organise yourself well. Plenty of room to have a mobile office on wheels plus room for your jacket! Only slight draw back is it is quite heavy to actually carry, (speaking as a female), but the expanding pulley handle just opens at the press of a button and works really smoothly. I would highly recommend this clever product and it is excellent value for money.

Excellent design and construction. Very smart. I like the masses of little pockets and holders. It appears particularly robust. If you don't need to accommodate a 17" laptop you might get something slightly narrower. This is not an overnighter and does not pretend to be. All the zips and strap fittings are solid matt finish metal which look very good. I only wish they could have been titanium to keep the weight down! But then you can't have everything!
