This was bought as a replacement for another K9 harness we already had for our cockapoo, she has grown in the year since we picked up the first one so the only reason another was purchased was because she needed a slightly bigger one, it is not a reflection of the product or its performance, more our weakness in giving out treats to the dog!Below is the review for our original purchase and all of the points raised remain valid after a few weeks of extensive use of this new one, quality is not diminished and the dog is happier as she now has an extra notch on her belt :)---------------We had tried all manner of halti leads, traditional collars,3 point harnesses and more before we picked up this harness for our Cockapoo after seeing another Cockapoo sporting one in a park. Our dog loves to pull ahead, its a constant when on the lead, we have tried to train her we have had three instructors to try and help but to no avail. With this in mind it was important for us to get a harness that firstly could help reduce this and more so made her as comfortable as possible without the strangling effect you see on lots of types of harnesses and leads.- You can tell the build quality is excellent as soon as you unwrap the harness, the stithcing is reinforced, the material itself where not webbing appears to be hardwearing padded cordura.- Its super simple to place over your dogs head then a quick clip together of the seatbelt like fixing buckle. Other products we have tried required one leg through this hole, another leg through that hole, it became a chore and at times distressing for the dog, this takes a few seconds.- We picked up two to get the right size, at the time our dog had a chest of i think 21inches and weighed circa 13kg. A size Mini was picked - however she has now outgrown this, so we have just ordered a size 0 - As a tip whilst it may be a pain you could be better off ordering two sizes then returning one if your dog is borderline on the size charts between two.- There is a good level of adjustment on the buckle strap so you can adjust your fit, we found this really useful as much like humans if the dog has eaten a lot she might have a fuller tummy, when in super wet conditions as per the pictures she sometimes has a fleece on, the adjustments can be made quickly and easily so as not to cause discomfort.- Functionally this really has reduced the pull factor, it has not eliminated it nor did we expect it to, we just wanted for her not to be hurting herself if pulling whilst on the lead. It really does do that. With some other harnesses you could see her walking and running gait change whilst wearing, indicating that the harness did not fit or was uncomfortable, with this that is not the case.- Security wise, she has never slipped out, i read some reviews that said this might happen, it can happen with any harness and a determined dog in an ill fitted harness, we have not had an instance.- The clip for the lead is just about right regards size, length and placement, it doesnt bang in to the dog whilst off the lead and is easily found whilst also trying to find a towel and treats, one handed operation is easy.- Durability wise we bought this in October 2018, we are now having to replace it but only because our dog has gotten a little larger so a size 0 is a better fit. During this time it has been exclusively the only harness we use bar when on organised park runs for which she has a special running harness. For good housekeeping we wash between 3 and 4 times a week depending on the trails and water, sometimes more sometimes less, but always its a machine wash.- Considering the amount of machine washing and 7 days a week walking this has been extremley durable. There are a couple of fabric grazes here and there, but there doesnt appear to be any structural issues, the panels are all intact, the lead anchor and belt clip both work fine and securely.- If you are machine washing then to save wear and tear on your machine and the harness, buy a couple of cheap pillow cases and wash the harness inside those, will reduce noise too!- Overall this is a fantastic product, well designed, durable, looks great, the dog is always happy to see it coming out of the cupboard and it really has changed how she walks, five stars.

It's been hard to gauge the right size harness for my Lakeland, as she's an 'in-between' size in most reputable brands of collars and harnesses like EzyDog and Ferplast, smaller than a spaniel and bigger than the average Jack Russell - she's around the size of a Border terrier but much sturdier as she's a high energy breed and (even though she's nearly 8 years old) she runs for miles most days. With the Julius K9 harness there's no metalwork to rust apart from the 'D' ring on the back - she goes in the sea regularly, and all her previous Ferplast harnesses' clip hinges rusted after a few months and stopped working. After much deliberation and reading through the previous hundred reviews by other people I ordered the 'Mini-Mini'size Julius K9 Powerharness('Small' on Amazon), as her chest measurement (51cm) is just within the range. (I notice this review is listed under the 'Mini' size - that's wrong). She's an extra kilo over the breed standard recommended weight, and a kilo over the Mini-Mini harness's upper limit of 7kg, but as her weight is all muscle and she's really trim, she fits it well. (Though if she ever puts on weight the strap under the stomach would be too tight, as it's right at the end now). If you have a male Lakeland I'd go for the next size up as males tend to a bit bigger all round. One thing I would say is that as a back harness with no breastplate to keep it in place, just a chest strap and stomach strap, the harness has a tendency to slide a little around the back - it moves about an inch from side to side when I pull on the lead, which doesn't seem to bother her - but I've deducted a star for that as it's a bit annoying to see it moving around. I gather you can buy a separate 'Y' strap for it, but I don't know if that would stop the movement. Other than that, it's a doddle to put on - it slips over her head easily (or you can undo the breast strap if you want - as long as your dog doesn't object to the sound of Velcro like mine does!) and it has just one strap to do up under the belly with a plastic safety clip.

I have an Alaskan Malamute, and was looking for a sturdy harness for her - I saw this on a picture posted on an Alaskan Malamute page in Facebook so I decided to look it up, and see what the reviews were like. They were all very positive, so I thought I would give it a try, and I am so glad I did!It arrived very quickly, and was packed well (in a sturdy box, with paper packing). It is well made and while being of a quite firm (shape holding) construction, it is still "soft" and doesn't rub her. There is a reflective strip along the front strap, which is fully adjustable (Velcro) going through a very sturdy metal loop on the main body of the harness. The Chest strap is also fully adjustable,as it feeds through the buckle. The Julius-K9 badges on the side glow in the dark, and can be replaced with alternate glowing badges should you want to - and believe me these REALLY glow, even in low light! Above these are some strong plastic loops which I think might be for the pack accessories you can purchase, and on one side there is an elasticated loop, which you could (from some pictures I have seen) place a small torch, which could be a good idea in winters darker evenings. There is a very strong metal loop on the top centre of the body just behind the "grab handle", which you attach your lead too. The Grab handle is a great addition to this too,Before buying this I did look at a few others similarly priced and this by far seems the best value and of strong construction, and best of all my dog seemed to like it, and after a little initial persuasion (only the first few minutes of the first walk) now completely ignores the fact she has it on and stands patiently while it is being put on her ready for our walk, which only takes a few seconds now we have it all adjusted to fit her.I would highly recommend this to anyone thinking of buying a harness, but please ensure you check out the instructions on measuring your dog first so you get one to fit!

Having a large rescue who was described to us as a "puller" and had little walking experience, we decided we needed a durable harness that could stand up to his strength. Knowing that the K9 harnesses were used by professionals, we figured we would give it a try, and I'm glad we did. Before purchase, the harnesses come with clear and concise instructions to help you find the perfect fit for your companion. The harness was easily adjustable to our dog's shape once on, and we could adjust it to his form as he lost weight and gained muscle over his time with us. It has durable and strong security clips that are easy to unclip, but durable enough that even when Harry rears and we pull on his handle harness there is no give on that clip. The harness withstands our treks and hikes through the woods, cleans well, and survives the rain in UK. The interchangeable badges glow in the dark, and provide an extra reflective glow for those later night walks, and are a nice unique little novelty.Overall this is a great harness. It stands up to pulling. It cleans well. Its durable. It has clear reflective trimming for walking safely. It has a safety handle that can be flattened down and stays down by the attached velcro if this is not of need. The attachment for the leader is a strong metal loop - note if you pull the harness by the leash instead of the harness halt handle, the harness can wrinkle and invert, but will return to normal.I would recommend this harness.

i originally bought this in size 3 from pets at home when his harness snapped whilst we were in there they gave me a size 3 said it would stop pulling and be wonderful well i went back 4 weeks later as my George had ripped off the back ring with his pulling they couldnt believe it and said must be faulty and replaced again 7 weeks later same happened they checked for teeth marks and found none so i went to write to julius and read up about the harness for a start he was in wrong size hence the strain on the ring and material i found out it has to be measured by kneck and chest gerth properly so i thought i would try one more time but from amazon pets at home think im nuts lol and wow i boughta size 2 he weighs 39kg its a good snug fit with lots of room for opening up straps for extra lengthmy daughter took him out last night in it and she was amazed at the difference in the pulling now he still pulled but so much less and she was actually in controll instead of a stuborn hard headed AkitaI went out with George again this morning and i could actually walk my boy for the first time in a long time so measurment is the key if he has room to move around he feels he can get loose so the pulling and wriggling is really bad but once he feels secure he walks and yep we still go where george wants to go but i dont mind that anymore coz i dont run behind looking like my arms being pulled off

Lovely sturdy harness for my strong young lab. It fits snug around him with plenty of space to expand as he gets older. I really like that unlike a lot of other harnesses, the chest strap actually sits where it’s supposed to, around his chest! I got really frustrated with other harnesses sliding up to above the chest and resting closer to the neck - this one doesn’t which is fabulous. The whole thing just seems like it’s made to last and some of the simplest features like a large D ring attachment, strong clip and highly reflective/glow tabs make it so easy to use and good for day or night walking with a strong pup. If I could fault one thing it’s the handle. It’s quite rigid and there’s Velcro on the top of the harness/underside of the handle so if you grab onto it hastily you can get grazed knuckles from the rough side of the Velcro, and have the other side digging into your palm of the dog pulls. Given how infrequently I have to use the handle it’s not a huge issue but is a tad frustrating on the odd occasion I have to hold my dog back from something too exciting for commands or lead to be effective.Nevertheless. This is by far the best harness I’ve brought, for a very reasonable price, and it’s simply marvellous in both build and functions. If by chance it would break, I’d be very hesitant to get any other style after having used the JuliusK9!

Love love love this harness.Firstly, some have written it helps with dogs that pull. That isn't our experience and our dog (young lab) still drags us to the park every day. However, the stripes glow in the dark when car lamps shine on them. The metal ring at the top is extremely sturdy and not at all flimsy. Lastly, the handle is a godsend! The handle comes in useful when:-The dog grabs a football from a young boy in the park and you're trying to get hold of him to retrieve the ball-The dog doesn't want to get back in the car to go home and you have to practically pull him up into the car-The dog belly flops into a deep duck pond chasing a swan that is too big for it and can't get out so youhave to pull him out by the handle-The dog belly flops into a part of the river where the bank is too steep to pull himself out of and you have to pull him out by the handle-The dog belly flops into the river chasing a butterfly and then realises he's too tired/lazy to pull himself out so you have to by the handle. All in all, I thoroughly recommend and have been asked many times by other dog owners where I got it (and why my dog likes to belly flops into situations it can't get out of!)

After a lot of research of different harnesses, I decided to purchase the Julius-K9 in size 2 for my two chocolate Labrador’s. I bought the aquamarine colour for the male and the dark pink for the female. They both measure around 84cm around the chest and they are both around 40kg in weight or just over. I did think about getting the size 3 as their weights were on the top end for the size 2 but I’m glad I went for the size 2 in the end as they fit perfectly and there is plenty of scope for adjustment, and the size 3 would definitely be too big. The harness is so easy to put on as it just slips over their head and then it’s just one click to fasten it around the chest area.I have tried different harnesses in the past and this is by far the easiest. They are so well made and very good quality and they look so smart. I’m really pleased with them and would definitely recommend this harness. With regards to walking, my male lab is a puller at certain times and although he still does pull a bit with the harness, it’s easier to control him now and he responds better, and I’m happier as it’s not straining his neck, which is the main reason I wanted it.

We adopted a 9 Month old GSD from the local shelter and they had given us a harness as a gift for GSD. Little did we know that our GSD was a master chewer and on day 2 home he chew through the harness strap. So we started researching for a harness and we happened upon on the Julius K9 on many sites and decided to order one for our GSD in a Size 2 Large.Construction:Well Made and sturdy looking and feelingThe chest strap is conveniently located out of reach of the doggie's jaws so he cant chew the strap while seated.A hand holder on the back is a welcome addition when you need to hold/yank the naughty mutt without hurting him.The Belt/Buckle is located on the bottom left and locks nicely witha click.the harness has a soft underbelly so its not hurting or making my doggy uncomfortable.Sits nice and snug and can be adjusted using the belt to increase/decrease the length. After 3 months its still as sturdy as ever and I can definitely recommend to those looking for a harness for the petsPiece of Advice:do make sure to measure your dogs chest size to get the appropriate harness size lest it be too big/small for them

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Please check for correct size as these come in a vast variety of sizes and it's so important to get a correct fit. Measure chest girth just behind the front legs for correct size. I bought the mini-mini size for my 10 week old Shiba Inu puppy and he's still wearing it at 4 months and twice the weight, thanks to the generous adjustment at both the neck and chest, with plenty more growth adjustment left.He loves wearing it; whenever I get it out for walkies he sits up wagging his tail waiting for me to put it on over his head and clip in round his chest. It's so simple to put on and take off. He once managed to slip out of it after I loosened the chest strap too much following a growth adjustment.I won't make that mistake again. When used with a rain jacket I have the harness over the jacket which helps to keep Alfie snug and warm on a wet winter's walk. The harness is strong, washes well in the machine and dries quickly over the radiator. The luminous branding is bright and easily seen on a dark night. I can't fault this product and will buy again when he grows out of this one.

the little brother of the IDC (and at half the price) - very good equipment, top quality safe and secure harness, and strong enough for my staffies without hurting them or showing any skin abrasions as other harness types did, however wild it gets. Fast and very easy to put on and off too, which gives flexibility when out and about. For example, I take them off when I expect it to get really dirty, e.g. mud bath, or on a day out at the beach and they go into the water. But they are easy enough to clean after 'normal' runs through the fields. The dogs seem to feel very comfortable in them, and the handle on the back allows to pull them away or to hold them securely from whatever when getting too excited as staffies sometimes do.Only small point I would have: there is no real 'medium'size - ordering the 'medium' because of the required girt size gave me 'size mini, M,', with next size option 'size 0, medium-large, M - L'. Having two staffies at the moment, I bought both sizes to see which one would fit better. And, of course, one is a bit too small, while the other is a bit too large.

I’ve been buying these harnesses for years...in my opinion the best.However....I’ve had some difficulties with our new puppy getting the right fit.The mini mini is too big...and the Baby 2 which I have here would be perfect except,,,The way the whole harness is fitted is crucial,,..it’s imperative that the front band sits exactly right round the neck in order that the harness makes the dog weighted in the middle when lifted Via back ring.It is this feature which sets this harness apart,,,it is terribly practical, and there been many a time when my last dog was airlifted to safety! So this Baby 2 harness is indeed the right size, but the design flaw lies in that front band,in that it does not allow for enough Adjustment with the Velcro....so once again I’ve had to laboriously sew in extra Velcro so I can get the correct fitting...So I think the makers of the Julius K 9 harness need to look at other ways to adjust the front band.,.Otherwise..as previously said...this is the best harness out there, and it gives you unrivalled comfortable control of your dog.

While my puppy still wears a collar with her ID tag on, we use a Julius K9 harness to clip her lead on when we go out for walks. There’s plenty of debate on why a harness is so much better for your dog’s well being than being led on a collar, and it doesn’t take much to realise why. The loads and forces that come down the lead are spread around the body of your dog and not concentrated on their neck. I’d not really thought about it until shopping for our puppy prior to getting her, however especially when on her longer training lead your dog can already be at quite a speed when they reach the end of the lead’s travel and are brought to an instant stop.I’d much rather that force isn’t around her neck.We have a young Border Collie and as she grows I plan to replace my current mini sized harness with progressively larger ones. Do pay close attention though to the sizing as our harness was initially a little too big when we bought it, however she’s growing at such a rate that she’s filled it already.

Julius is the best harness you could by. The offer different styles and sizes to fit any dog and there needs. If you have a stronger dog this is ideal as the harness clip is located in the centre of there back which is perfect to give that little tug or nudge in the right direction. Great when use with Flexi Lead for recall training as dogs will feel as if there off there lead. Little flick on the lead allow the dog to learn the response to come back in addition to calling out. There great products made to a extraordinary high standard for even the toughest of dogs and chewers. Product is stitched well, has adoptions for flash light or other accessories and the craftsmanship won’t fail you. You’ll feel save knowing this harness will give you full control of your dog and feel safe while using it. Theres many types of harness offered by Julius all to a high standard and quality. Don’t pay pets @ home prices for a 2nd rats harness. Everyone I know involved with dogs professionals recommend Julius.

Got this for my chocolate Labrador. He's got a barrel of a chest and this harness was a perfect fit. It's really easy to fit and adjust the first time you put it on your dog. It has a glow in the dark strip across the front and 2 stickers (which are removable) and also are glow in the dark. The metal hoop on the top is very thick and sturdy so theres no way its going to break off. The handle on the top of the harness is convenient when you want to hold you dog still (for small dogs you can pick them up by this if needs be (mainly for emergency situations). We mainly use it so that our other dog (a Siberian husky)who also has the same harness can be hooked up to our lab and they can go off lead together giving us piece of mind knowing our husky cant run off.Cleaning wise just a damp cloth is enough to give it a good rub down. This is the first premium dog harness I've bought for my lab and would recommend them to all dog owners. Bonus points of the cool orange colour as well
