We had tried all manner of halti leads, traditional collars, 3 point harnesses and more before we picked up this harness for our Cockapoo after seeing another Cockapoo sporting one in a park. Our dog loves to pull ahead, its a constant when on the lead, we have tried to train her we have had three instructors to try and help but to no avail. With this in mind it was important for us to get a harness that firstly could help reduce this and more so made her as comfortable as possible without the strangling effect you see on lots of types of harnesses and leads.- You can tell the build quality is excellent as soon as you unwrap the harness, the stithcing is reinforced, the material itself where not webbing appears to be hardwearing padded cordura.- Its super simple to place over your dogs head then a quick clip together of the seatbelt like fixing buckle. Other products we have tried required one leg through this hole, another leg through that hole, it became a chore and at times distressing for the dog, this takes a few seconds.- We picked up two to get the right size, at the time our dog had a chest of i think 21inches and weighed circa 13kg. A size Mini was picked - however she has now outgrown this, so we have just ordered a size 0 - As a tip whilst it may be a pain you could be better off ordering two sizes then returning one if your dog is borderline on the size charts between two.- There is a good level of adjustment on the buckle strap so you can adjust your fit, we found this really useful as much like humans if the dog has eaten a lot she might have a fuller tummy, when in super wet conditions as per the pictures she sometimes has a fleece on, the adjustments can be made quickly and easily so as not to cause discomfort.- Functionally this really has reduced the pull factor, it has not eliminated it nor did we expect it to, we just wanted for her not to be hurting herself if pulling whilst on the lead. It really does do that. With some other harnesses you could see her walking and running gait change whilst wearing, indicating that the harness did not fit or was uncomfortable, with this that is not the case.- Security wise, she has never slipped out, i read some reviews that said this might happen, it can happen with any harness and a determined dog in an ill fitted harness, we have not had an instance.- The clip for the lead is just about right regards size, length and placement, it doesnt bang in to the dog whilst off the lead and is easily found whilst also trying to find a towel and treats, one handed operation is easy.- Durability wise we bought this in October 2018, we are now having to replace it but only because our dog has gotten a little larger so a size 0 is a better fit. During this time it has been exclusively the only harness we use bar when on organised park runs for which she has a special running harness. For good housekeeping we wash between 3 and 4 times a week depending on the trails and water, sometimes more sometimes less, but always its a machine wash.- Considering the amount of machine washing and 7 days a week walking this has been extremley durable. There are a couple of fabric grazes here and there, but there doesnt appear to be any structural issues, the panels are all intact, the lead anchor and belt clip both work fine and securely.- If you are machine washing then to save wear and tear on your machine and the harness, buy a couple of cheap pillow cases and wash the harness inside those, will reduce noise too!- Overall this is a fantastic product, well designed, durable, looks great, the dog is always happy to see it coming out of the cupboard and it really has changed how she walks, five stars.

This harness is the best harness I've bought so far! It is incredibly tough and strong and looks great on my dog and relatively comfortable to wear. The handle is incredibly strong. I have a very strong golden retriever, who walks beautifully on the lead, however when she sees a bird, she wants to run after it; so its a great way to hold her close for greater control when needed. The reflective strap and glow in the dark side strips are fantastic and reflect/glow well in the dark for easy visibility. The steel D-Ring is incredibly strong and robust, in fact, it's so chunky, I've had to get a new lead just to fit it!The Julius-K9 Powerharness looks fantastic on and I've had other owners ask me where I purchased it from.Only a couple of negative things I've sadly noticed:1)The excess Velcro on the chest strap overhangs inside the harness where I've adjusted it and occasionally gets caught up as it has no where to stick to inside the harness, and cutting it does not seem like a viable option. Somewhere for the excess chest strap to stick to would be great.2) The buckle, whilst not faulty, occasionally doesn't click properly or its a bit stiff when you clip it together. Could just be it not going in straight but I always have to give it a couple of strong tugs just to be sure it is secure and won't come loose.3) The belly strap could do with being padded a bit better. My dog has a couple of sore spots under her armpits from where the harness rubs even though it is adjusted correctly and is actually looser than it should be. If I make the harness any looser, I run the risk of it sliding about on her back, which isn't good for her spine or her safety/security if it ever came loose. She does suffer from skin allergies so I am going to walk her without the harness for a little while and see if it makes a difference. If the sore spots are due to her allergies, I will of course increase the rating of this review. In the mean time I will search for some appropriate padding for the strap.Update!I have increased the review to 4 stars. The sore spots under her armpits do seem to be the result of her allergies and not the harness itself. Overall a great harness, but with a couple of small modifications, would be perfect!

This has greatly improved my terriers behaviour when out on her lead. She used to really pull to the point where her front paws barely touched the floor when walking on her lead. She also barked and snapped at other dogs passing and some people. Since I purchased the k9 harness and the front chest strap, her pulling and bad behaviour has really settled down. She cant pull in the way she used to with the front chest strap on. I also think the harness makes her feel more secure. I purchased a double lead also, so I have one end of the lead clipped onto the front chest strap and the other end clipped onto the harness ring located on the dogs back. This combination has transformed how she behaves when out.I am not sure if just the harness alone would work as well without the chest strap as I have only ever used them together so I cant say whether the harness on it's own would make such a dramatic difference. She has managed to escape the harness and chest strap on one occasion when we were sitting outside a cafe eating. I was holding her lead and she was scratching about under the table and must have somehow wriggled out of it. Fortunately we spotted her before she managed to get anywhere. I'm not sure how she managed it but it clearly is possible so I wouldn't leave her in the harness unattended, for example outide a shop as I have done in the past before I bought the harness, just with a collar and lead. K9 do clearly state that dogs should never be left unattended in the harness. She also does not mind getting into the harness and once it's on she doesn't normally try and get out of it. But as she has managed to escape once I am mindful to always keep an eye on her. All things considered this has been the best purchase I have ever made for my dog. It also looks really smart and is very durable and well made. My terrier gets very dirty often and rolls in all sorts of horrors. I just rinse the k9 off in warm soapy water and hang it up to dry and it's good as new. We live by the sea so she is always in salt water. This doesn't seem to have any adverse effects on the harness material or the metal rings attached.

So far we have had two K9 harnesses as she's grown up.We have gone through various other brands that didn't live up to the hyper nor the marketing for an active dog, as they have either broken or been too hard to clean/maintain.The K9 is a good harness - but it's not the best harness out there. If you are looking for a harness to stop your dog pulling or to make it easier to control; then this is probably not the harness you are looking for.Things I like;---------------Super quick and easy to get on and off.. put the dogs head through the big opening and do the clip up underneath... takes seconds. Not like the other harnesses where the dog has to 'step into it' or anything like this. You could even do this one handed.- The grab handle at the top; super useful to get hold of the dog to control them (i.e. near a road junction, with other dogs etc.) Re-assuring to know that it's there. It also functions as a great point to attach other items (such as lights during winter)- Build quality; really well made and put together. Easy to clean. Our dog has worn this through snow, mud, gone swimming in the sea and rivers with it and comes up great each time. The negatives;------------------ This won't stop your dog pulling; for us it's made no difference. The harness does sit lower on their back which should discourage it, but we've yet to see that. We have ended up purchasing the optional 'Y' strap for the Julius K9 which gives us a dual attachment (one front and one back) to try and discourage pulling.-As this is a front fitting harness; your dog can back-out of it if you are not careful when you are walking them. This has not happened to us, however you just be conscious of this when walking the dog.- The small clip on the top to button down the handle made no difference as was pretty fiddly to do.- We've gone through two sizes since she was born (one puppy size and one adult size) neither are a the best fit out there for us.. I'm sure we could find better with other brands.

Made to last, tough, strong and durable with lots of tech behind the design and extras built in to make the perfect adaptable, multi function dog harness. A harness is always so much better than the tradditonal lead and collar which pulls constantly on your dog's neck impacting on their spine causing muscle related damage for your dog when it's older. We purchased for a rescued Husky. On day one, the dog was not overly impressed by the different feel of his harness as he had previously had collar and lead attachement. Within half an hour of first walk our dog began running, totally unhindered by his new harness, which he seemed to forgot he had on, and we have not looked back since. The Husky being a powerful dog breed which is bred to pull sleds we were absolutely amazed at just how much more 'easier' it was to control the dog over a collar and lead and how much more comfortable it was for both dog and human. Cannot recommend these harnesses enough as they also have reflective strips with various signs which can be purchased separately such as 'friendly', 'nervous', 'shy' dog etc which you can velcro to both sides of the harness so visible to all. These harnesses also have two apertures for holding two night lights either side at top of harness, also a grip handle at top if needed to hold/retain your dog more securely. The harness is also very easy to adjust and put on, simply place over dog's head and buckle underneath, it's ultra quick and easy. 10/10 for us and our dog. We got the black on black which looks very smart and expensive looking too.

We have an 8 month old golden labrador and walking with him was proving trickier and trickier as he pulled so much. We tried a sturdier chain and collar, full stopping and rewards for good walking and stopping at junctions amongst others but nothing worked. Dubious of the product I borrowed one from a friend's dalmatian for the day and instantly the pulling stopped. When I ordered mine I purchased a separate chest plate owing to a need for increased security due to his size. The children (13,11,10,9) were instantly able to walk him without pulling, dragging, injuries or shouting at him for bad behaviour. I would highly recommend anyone thinking about purchasing one to do so,particularly if you have a very energetic pup like us! The ultimate bonus of this product is of course the colours and styles. Torn between dayglow orange and one called 'pyscho' and looking like it had been salvaged from a saved by the bell scenery auction we knew which decision to make. (Although if I had been able to purchase one covered in skulls/bats that decision would have been moot!) Look at it ladies and gents! All hail the fabulous, and more importantly unique, design which people stop me in the street to ask about. Sheep we are not, and neither is doggo. He adores his "bra" as my mother calls it and can't wait to sit patiently for it to be adorning his back, safe in the knowledge that this means walkies. By far the best £30 I spent. Now I just need to find some indestructible toys for him....

I absolutely love this product! You can tell that it is of a very high quality and is made extremely well.We purchased the 'Pink With Flowers' design for our 9 month old Pomeranian in the size 'Baby 2'. The design looks a lot better in person, the flowers really pop and the pinks contrast lovely with the orange colours. The sizing is perfect. We had to adjust it slightly in order to fit her but there is still plenty room and there is also room for her to grow which is great as we will not need to purchase another. It fits very snug and does not rub her or catch on her skin.At first, it was a little awkward to put on and the instructions didn't help much, but we got it eventually!Once you have fit it correctly, it is easy to take on and off as all you need to do is slide it over your dogs head and clip it underneath. It takes no longer than a few seconds to put on.The overall quality is brilliant. It feels extremely well made. The material is very thick and the stitching is great. The clips do not feel flimsy and they secure nicely. The velcro around the neck also feels of high quality, and does not rub her skin. The UV strips shine extremely brightly, even when it is not completely dark which is brilliant as your dog can easily be seen from far away.I would certainly recommend this product and although it is a little pricey, it is definitely worth it as it will certainly last.

Getting the correct size is tricky ,even with a tape measure, I bought the size 1, which looked too big, then returned it at my COST of £3.99, CAVEAT EMPTOR that was not made obvious on the Amazon listing, which bumped it up to nearly the retail shop price, that said the product is EXCELLENT no more pulling, plenty of attatchment ponts, removable velco signs, which are of course an optional extra, available also on AMAZON.There are cheap copies but past experience is buy cheap buy twice, this product is properly made and should last a lifetime if needed. The two 'FRIENDLY' logos that can be attatched to the velcro pad instead of the Julius patches have already drawn a host of positive comments 'what a good idea'in just one day! With no more pulling and choking your dog is easy to control, and mine has no problem whatever wearing the harness, as unlike a muzzle choke lead the harness does cause any discomfort around the eyes. The product is not cheap, but is well made of durable materials and put into context cost wise it is a welcome investment. When used with a pair of quality leads joined together, one being a bungee, which I put nearest the harness for a longer reach, when necessary dog walking is no chore at all.Overall a five star purchase highly recommended.

I love this harness.I got this after waiting what seamed like ages for my pup to grow big enough for her to have one of these ( she's a tiny Chihuahua)I was having a lot of trouble getting my pup to walk on a lead, so I done some research and these harnesses where mentioned a lot. So I found what size would be best for my little chi ( for my pup baby1....and it is tiny )Once I adjusted the fit (Go on the Julius k9 web site or you tube on how to fit and size... very important you do this correctly! ) it was good to go. She took a couple of times to get used to it... so we used it in the house. But she walks a million time better on this harness!Ok sorry just wanted to sing the praises of theharness. So the harness it's self is super cute and so well made the body of the harness is a little stiff but I'm sure it will soften with use. The smaller ones don't have the bar that clips back it just has the d ring. The lables are really glowy and the stitching is very refective. Mine is the purple and it's lovely but lighter then the photo. Everyone who sees it says " oh how cute... I had no idea Julius made these that tiny"Very happy and comfortable doggy, I'm very happy also. I will buy in other colours.Delivery was great.

While I've had this harness less than a week, I can't speak to how well it will last, however, my dog and I love it.I bought a different harness (different manufacturer) the day before buying this one. When it arrived the following day, it was immediately clear it wasn't suitable. It was too tight, and my dog would back away when I tried to put it on. I ordered this one straight away. The sizing seems quite generous, although it's perfectly secure. It has a fantastically strong handle; something that's essential for my very reactive malamute. The other harness had a thin handle, whereas this one is sturdy and comfortable, even when my dog is straining against it (Deer! Squirrels! Another dog!A butterfly!).My dog doesn't react at all when I put this harness on, and has not stretched, tried to nibble it, or otherwise shown signs of discomfort.I have just ordered some replacement Velcro patches (which were cheap), simply because I didn't want the name of the harness on display. All in all, so far, this is spot on. I've had my (rescue) dog a year now and I'm kicking myself for not buying one of these sooner.

The item arrived on time and was well packaged and even had a small information booklet too. Now to the MAIN points of this harness for me! Without being dramatic, or saying this lightly, this item has changed my life!! I have arthritis in my spine and both of my hands (thumbs mainly) and walking my 5 year old Staffie cross was almost impossible for me because she used to pull on the lead. When I first put it on her she was almost "magically" transformed - it seemed to calm her instantly. When my back allows me to walk her (I aim for twice a day) she is like a different dog. She doesn't want to run off all the time, is happy to walk to heel, but most importantly SHE DOESN'T PULL ME!!All in all a perfect purchase and I wish I'd done it years ago. It was easy to fit on her (over her head), and the adjustments (chest and belly) were very simply to adjust to get the perfect fit. SHE may not know she's got it on when she's walking but I CERTAINLY do - and it doesn't slow her running down either. If you have a dog that takes YOU for a walk/trot/drag then try this harness today!! THANK YOU!!

My Border Collie is about 19kg and from working stock so is a skinny athletic dog - he wears the Size 0. He loves being off the lead but is a puller when on it. I have used a Halti on previous dogs but have seen a lot of dogs wearing harnesses so decided to give it a go. He wasn't bothered about wearing it as he has a car harness but the first time he got giddy about going out for a walk he backed right out of it and I was left with a harness on the end of the lead and a dog sat looking at me wearing nothing! Luckily we were in the drive and not on the street or we would have been in trouble. Prior to buying it I had read that this could happen but could be resolved be buying the Y strap that slides onto the chest strap. As soon as I did this and refitted the harness it is perfect. If your dog has a habit of backing out of situations he is uncomfortable in i would wholly recommend paying a little extra and getting the Y strap. He wears it no problem, walks a lot more calmly and now can't back out of it. It seems very sturdy and well made and is saving my arms from a lot of pulling!

Perfect fit for my medium sized dog. I have always struggled getting a harness to fit comfortably and fit safely, often with other brands there was either a S M L choices and my dog always ended up in between sizes.Problem solved!!!! with so many base sizes to start with, I was initially thinking size mini as by the measurements chart. I decided to go up a size to 0 as my dog is likely to be a bit rounder rather than slimmer in the future (she's an old lady now bless). These harnesses overlap in the sizes my dog measuring 62cm girth and aprox 14kg so she could have fit a size miniThis harness has an adjustable front chest plate and one belly girth adjustable strap. The straps are quite wide so feel like they would have good weight distribution. This harness is one of the best I've seen on the market for safety features - reflective, close control handle which can be safely secured flat, very sturdy buckles and D ring, flashlight holder (elasticated panel), additional side bags can be purchased for your canine friend to carry their own bits and bob! And changeable labels!

As someone who has tried several harnesses, but with little success, I was recommended the Julius-K9 by several other dog owners, so thought it warranted a trial. From day one, this excellent product has really proved it's worth. It fits perfectly, and allows for easy adjustment, should the need arise. More than anything else, our cavapoo loves wearing what must feel a very comfortable piece of dog kit. No chance here of her experiencing anything tight and uncomfortable behind her front legs, as the whole harness sits centrally to both her underbelly, as well as her chest. With a recent injury to her anterior cruciate ligament requiring an operation that has restricted initial movements somewhat, the K-9 provided really outstanding support and comfort for our little dog, as she adjusts to returning to her normal agile self. If dog harnesses are having you tearing your hair out, or if you now have any left as a result of them, then I can highly recommend this high quality item to remove those past headaches ... it certainly has in our case ...

I initially bought the size 1 for my staffy but it was way to big for her, the size 0 is the better size. It's easy to put on and is very sturdy and well made. I just love the flowers ? on it. The patches on the sides are Velcro glow in the dark, and much to my delight you can change them and put on what you want, so you could put on nervous, friendly etc on. I've ordered her name (awaiting)It has a press stud on top to push down the handle which is handy for woodland walks for under brambles etc to stop her getting stuck. I could even buy LED light strips but maybe that's going a bit too far and my shopper holic coming out ?. There is even a slot for a torch on top for night walks! It's a great harness,my only downside is I need to wash my feral pooches stuff frequently and this says not machine washable (I wash most things that says don't and has been ok but unsure about this) so I haven't used this where she is going to run through mud!I would definitely recommend this harness and it is a good price from Amazon too! ???
