I am a experienced hiker in NY. I have done all sorts of hikes. Finding the best sunglasses is tricky. I got the Sherpa style shades from Julbo last week and tried them on a hiking trip. They were fine except that the seemed to slip off my nose and not keep snug on my face. I had to adjust them often.I just got the Micropore 4X style. I Put them on and adjusted them. They fit very well. I feel no movement at all, even when I look down or shake my head. They also block the light better. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars was the leather. The inside of one leather sides seems ratty and not totally new. I know it is, yet it does not look that way. The $40 Sherpa pair had perfect leather sides on both sides, not this pair.Everything else seems to be in order and worth the price. I like these.

These are perhaps the darkest sun glasses that I have ever owned, which is what I intended to get when I purchased them. The lenses are a little tall (top to bottom of lenses), but that could perhaps simply be my face's fault. All of the associated hardware, side guards and nose guard, are removable, though the nose guard was exceedingly difficult to remove. I did, however, manage without breaking the glasses. The glasses feel incredibly flimsy in comparison to the other sun glasses that I have owned in the past, but after wearing them for a while it is clear that this is just an artifact of the light and yet strong material used to construct them, they are most assuredly not flimsy despite the initial concerns.

These are solid metal frame glasses with a "glass" type lense and are pretty much scratch resistant, compared to a "plastic" type lense. The ear pieces are completly adjustable and can be "formed" to fit anyones face. The complaint that they let light in from the top is because they were not "formed" properly. They do require a little patience to "shape" them properly, but once done they will be "customised" to your face and are very comfortable. I think the only complaint is the price, but seemed to be of very nice quality (FOR THE PRICE THEY BETTER BE)!!

I bought these glasses for my 7 year old daughter (in purple) because we live in the Middle East where the sun is extremely bright. They are very high quality, which is a surprise considering the inexpensive price. My daughter complained at first that they hurt her ears, so we took them to the eyeglass store to get adjusted (they heated the ear pieces and bent them out a little). Now they're fine. The store gave us a big case for the glasses because the plastic case that came with the glasses was flimsy and hard to open.

I bought these for my 12-year-old nephew, and he loves them! The brand wasn't familiar to him - he only knew of Oakleys - but once I explained all the perks these glasses have, he was very happy. They look stylish, and even have some "side eye" coverage so that he can use them when fishing. They also fit well on his face, and I am so glad I didn't buy smaller adult glasses. They provide great protection for a great price, we are really happy with them!

I looked long and hard to find UV blocking sunglasses for my 11 year old . Everything was either obviously cheap plastic that wouldn't stand up to the abuse that boys can dish out , or they looked very childish. These fit my son fantastic ,and are very well made .Take care of your kids eyes and protect them from the sun . These glasses are worth the price . If he loses his pair I will buy him the same glasses again:)

I don't know why it took so long to right a review, but I bought these 3 years ago for my son and they are still going strong. I was hesitant to spend over 20 dollars for a pair of kids sunglasses, but it's well worth it to protect their eyes. I found these when our eye doctor recommended that my kids were sunglasses as much as possible. As long as they are always put into their case, they will stay in one piece. :)

This is the third pair of Julbo Kid's Rookie pair that I have purchased for my kid. The second pair was exchanged because one of the lenses fell and got lost while my sun was sailing. I got a replacement thanks to Amazon and we experienced the same issue with the lens but in this case we did not lose so I glued the lenses to the frames. I do love this sunglasses for kids, I hope Julbo fixes this design glitch.

Julbo makes quality sunglasses. I've chosen only Julbo year after year for our kids. This item came as defective, so I returned it and reordered from "EyeSave Sunglasses & Readers". For some reasons they haven't shipped out the glasses two weeks after the order was placed. Conclusions - this is a good sunglasses, but make sure you buy from the right seller. Some sellers just don't deserve our business.

Great glasses, the leather sides do the job, it almost zones you out. with AltiArc4+ lens may take some time to get use to drive with it but as soon as you adopt, is just awesome. After three months of use, ~4000 miles, two outdoor climbing trips, and everyday tossing around the car not a scratch on the lenses.Great product! should I loose them - I will mourn for a week while waiting for a new pair.

This picture is not for the Micropores I bought... They are the best everyday sunglasses I've ever owned... having previously used REVO and OAKLEY. They are extremely comfortable to wear and to look through; providing significant glare reduction which is really needed here in Queensland Australia. I have no problem using them for driving (while it's not recommended with this strength of lens).

My five-year-old has a large head for his age - he wears a youth (8-14) bike helmet, so I figured these would fit him well. Not only do they fit well with a nice wrap-around, they look nice on him, and they seem pretty durable. He is a rough, rough kid. While I love them, he only likes them, and prefers his back-up pair of sunglasses purchased from a children's clothing retail chain.

Good size for my child's face with room to grow. Fits well under ski and bicycle helmets. Came with a bulky white plastic case that opens in half, like an egg- would have liked a different case as it's hard to put the 2 pieces together but the glasses work well and they haven't broken yet after a year of use, and it's been dropped a few times!

Excellent, as all the other 3 Julbo sunglasses I've had.Everything about them inspires quality, comfort and style. In general I found Julbo optics always exceptional, while their frames are of varying grades of comfort/fit - try them before buying if possible. This particular model is very good on all aspects - highly recommended.

Bought theses and Croakies for my 9-yr old daughter for a 3-day, 180-mile biking trip across Maine. I thought that possibly the sides were too tight b/c she complained about a slight headache at end of day #1, but she didn't complain or have more headaches after that. Great glasses, they stayed on and with her the entire trip.
