My Ray-Ban 3025 Aviator sunglasses arrived today, and I'm completely satisfied. What I received was undoubtably the REAL Ray-Ban product: packaged in a Ray-Ban box with sticker on the end including the 'Made in Italy' statement and including the Ray-Ban sunglasses case, a small 'manufacturer's information note' paper that is written in no less than 24 languages (!!!) - and I'm not joking (I counted). Plus a small marketing brochure 'The Icons' telling the story of Ray-Ban, and finally a lens cleaning cloth with the Ray-Ban logo. The sunglasses themselves have the Ray-Ban logo etched on the right lens prominently, and very subtly etched on the left lens. So, that's the package. It's as pictured here, and I start with that description because there is always going to be some trepidation at buying something like this online. Will you get The Real Deal, or a cheap knock-off? Well, I purchased mine from Amazon, not from a third-party seller, to reduce that risk, and I am not disappointed. Now to the sunglasses themselves. I think that there are a few things to know, for someone considering Ray-Ban sunglasses:- they come in a very wide variety of frame sizes, lens tints and colors, polarized and non-polarized, and with different frame colors and finishes. If you are not already familiar with these sunglasses and know what you want, then my recommendation is that you first go to the Ray-Ban website and familiarize yourself with those variations, especially if you think that you will want something other than the Traditional Gold Frame, Green Lens sunglass. Once at the Ray-Ban website, select 'customize' at the top, and you'll find yourself on a page where you have the full ability to vary the choices I've summarized below. These variations can all be found on Amazon although navigating through all of the sellers and product pages on Amazon that list the different variations of these sunglasses can be very time consuming and confusing.- For the 3025 Aviator style, the following variations are available:--- There are no less than 35 choices of lenses - 'classic', 'legends', 'gradient', 'mirrored and flash', and 'polarized'--- There are 8 variations in frame color - basic colors of gold and matte gold, and 'trendy' colors of black and 5 others--- There are 5 choices of temple tips (the end of the earpiece) - black or white as basic choices, and brown, beige or transparent also available--- There are a three different sizes available for the Ray-Ban Large Aviator RB3025. THIS IS IMPORTANT:----------- 58 14 135: the basic standard size is 58 mm lens diameter, 14 mm bridge width, with temple length 135 mm----------- 55 14 135: slightly smaller lens size, with same bridge width and temple length----------- 62 14 140: larger lens size and temple length--- There are also further variations to the Aviator sunglass:----------- Large Aviator II RB3026: only available as 62 14 140----------- Small Aviator RB3044: only available as 52 14 135----------- Folding Aviator RB3479: available in 55 14 140 and 58 14 145----------- Outdoorsman II RB3029 (includes 'brow bar' or 'sweat bar'): available in 62 14 140----------- Outdoorsman RB3030 (includes ''brow bar' or 'sweat bar' plus cable temples): available in 58 14 160----------- Outdoorsman II Rainbow RB3407 (with 'brow bar' in pink and possibly other color variations): available in 55 14 135 and 58 14 135----------- Outdoorsman II Craft RB3422Q (with 'brow bar' and temple pads in genuine hand stitched deer leather): available in 58 14 135----------- Shooter RB3138 (with 'brow bar' or 'sweat bar' and a small circle just below the brow bar. Also the lenses are placed closer together than other Aviator models): available in 58 09 135- once you have figured out what you want, then the complexity is reduced and it's simply a matter of determining which seller is offering the best price. My own choice was to purchase from Amazon, not from a third-party seller, and I actually ordered two different pairs of sunglasses because I wanted to try both the polarized and non-polarized lenses, and the choices I found also had some variation in frame color that I thought would be worth checking out. I therefore purchased for myself, from Amazon, the following two pairs:-

Just received these Ray-Ban RB3025 112/O658 Polarized Aviator Sunglasses in Matte Gold Frame and Light Orange Lenses. I am happy to report that they are 100% authentic. Don't be scared due to the reviews saying these are fake, just make sure you order directly from Amazon as the seller. I can't speak for the other sellers but Amazon will not send you fake goods (they wouldn't still be here if they did). While I'm on the subject of amazon, make sure you check out any current discounts or promotions they may be running. I got these 20% off due to some fashion/accessories coupon code. Furthermore, I was able to get a price adjustment refund because they dropped from $120 to $105. Ray-Ban sells them for $200.This is an amazing deal. Thanks Amazon! Now for the actual product review:Since many people have written at length about RB Aviators in general, and we all know what to expect from a quality standpoint, I'll just focus on this specific configuration. The model I ordered is part of the "Polar Special Series" which is the polarized version of their "Legends" lenses. These are a lighter tint than most of their lenses and have a retro 60s vibe compared to their other lens options. If money were no object I would also order the Green and Blue versions of these Polar Special aviators. But, since money is an object I went with Orange, as I thought it would fit my style the best and provide the best overall viewing experience. The orange tint is a great color for driving as it filters blue light and increases perceived contrast of distant objects. In addition, polarization is in my view an essential feature of any driving sunglasses. Polarization filters the light reflected by many things, including the road, other cars, puddles, bright white clouds, and it even darkens the sky at the right angle In general it makes it easier to focus on the road and less on being blinded. As an added bonus, the polarization on these isn't so intense that you can't read your sat-nav when you need to.These two features make wearing these glasses refreshing for your eyes, and they are a light enough tint to wear on cloudy days while still being useful, not detrimental. You won't want to take them off. From a style perspective, these have the classic ray-ban aviator look, with a distinctive vintage feel. They tint is light enough for people to see your eyes through them, which I also like. Not much more to say about them, get them while you still can because it seems like the Polar Special Series is being phased out.

These are the 'oversized' ray ban aviators, designed for guys like myself with a larger head/face. I think the fit was just right, and they look great based on many compliments I've received on them so far. I would highly reccomend you check these out at a store before you buy them on online, mostly to ensure that the fit is right for you. Ray Ban makes these aviators (3026) which are oversized, and have a slightly softer angle to the bottom of the lens. In contrast the typical aviator you are most used to and see on TV/movies is the 3025, which has a slightly stronger angle, but is also smaller edge to edge (typically 58mm wide opposed to the 62mm on the 3026). In terms of the shape of the lens,it's so subtle that you really can't notice much of the difference, other than it's just designed to 'fit' better (they softened the drop of the lens as otherwise it would be just too large for the larger wider of the 62mm 3026). Regardless they are very similar, but the 4mm difference in width, while appearing inconsequential, is actually a large difference and therefore you should evaulate it for yourself.Overall a great quality product, the G15 lenses are excellent and really do improve my vision - I can see very clearly with these on, without any eye strain in bright outdoor light (crisp/clean optics). I wear contacts every day and these help keep my eyes relaxed while outdoors, therefore reducing the muscle fatigue my eyes are subject to over the course of the day. I definitely reccomend these if you have sensitive eyesight and/or use contact lenses and are looking for great protection from glare/brightness. the biggest thing is that they reduce the brightness while at the same time enhancing the clarity of my vision, which is great. Also note these lenses are glass and not plastic - for what it's worth, in case it wasn't obvious to you at first.Only complaint would be that they only come in two styles, with the gold plated rim or the black - This is fine but I wish they would offer the gunmetal in this frame size, which would have been my preference. You could find the gunmetal in the 3025 oversized, but only with a plastic lens (not the G-15 lens) - so I went with function over style, which is fine. (I did go with the black on black, which is a bit more subtle than the gold rimmed).

Not only is this my first real pair of Italian Ray-Ban sunglasses, but my first pair of aviator-style as well. I've been an Oakley wearer for years (mostly sporty styles), and after my last set of metal-framed Oakleys just got too scratched up, I decided I needed a new pair. I was attracted to the aviator-style, but I'm not really sure why. After a few months of thinking about it, I decided I'd go for it, and who better to choose than Ray-Ban?I got these in the narrower 55mm width because, even though I don't have a small head, my face seems narrow and I feared the "normal" 58mm might appear bigger on me than they really are. After having these for a few days, I think I made the right choice.Fit aside,I DEFINITELY made the right choice with the mirror green! I was torn between these and the blue ones, and I'm sure that if I'd gotten blue, I would have been plenty happy. But these are SLICK! I love the color (they even seem blue-ish from certain side-angles), and I haven't seen anyone else wearing anything like 'em!Every pair of Oakley sunglasses I ever had were polarized, and so, of course, as a new Ray-Ban owner I made sure I got these in the polarized version, too. However, some pictures of polarized Ray-Bans make it seem as though the lenses are more see-through from the outside than the non-polarized version. My number one must-have feature was a completely mirrored finish. After doing some research, I found that these are every bit as mirrored as you would expect. Maybe if enough sunlight shines on your face from a side-angle, your eyes might show through, but these are so reflective, it'll be tough to really see your eyes most of the time (so fellas, you're safe to scope out the chix; and ladies, you're safe to scope out the fellas, totally incognito).Anyway, as a long-time Oakley wearer, I definitely hit a home-run with my first pair of authentic Ray-Bans. w00t!

I was very concerned about all the counterfit Ray Bans on amazon. I did alot of research on what to look for to spot the fakes. Even people who have said "if the glass is etched on the left lense they are authentic". Well the counterfitters will go to extreme lengths to make them look as real as possable. Nearly every detail is copied. So, after looking at different sellers, watching videos of real and fake glasses I searched for SunglassHut on Amazon. They are the brick and morter authorized sellers. I saved my order to my shopping cart from the Sunglasshut page on Amazon and they were $199.95. When I checked out I noticed it said "sold by and fullfilled by Amazon for $118. This made me a little worried.I wanted to pay the extra money to be sure they were authentic. Why the seller changed I have no idea. Now my review. I am still not 100 percent they are authentic but about 90 percent sure. All the research I have done and the fakes I have seen have all the same markings on the glasses and the case. The only thing the real ones have that the fake ones do not are that the ends of the plastic ear pieces curve a little bit. all the pictures and videos I have seen show the fakes with straight ear pieces at the very ends. The lenses are indeed polarized as you can tell from looking at different peoples rear windows of their cars in the sun. The glass has an invisable checkerboard pattern with the glasses on and it goes away with them off. The blue mirroring is nice and you cant see your eyes from other peoples perspective unless sunlight is coming in from the sides. The fit is good and I will go to my local Sunglasshut store to have them adjusted.Overall 4 stars because of placing in my cart from the sunglasshut page and then it being changed to sold and fullfilled through Amazon, and the fact I still have that 10% doubt they could be fakes.

I just got my sunglasses today. I have prime shipping but it only took 1 day to arrive, so I'm impressed. I know a lot of other customer reviews were somewhat surprised (or disappointed) that their ray-ban sunglasses were made in China. I got lucky, my pair was made in Italy. Nevertheless, I know some people think their sunglasses are fake because they say 'made in China' instead of Italy, but that's not the case.Ray-Ban's are made in Italy, China, and even the U.S., so keep that in mind. I'm hoping these sunglasses last a while and don't come apart or break easily as some have claimed. I admit that I would have been slightly disappointed if they said made in China. The size (or diameter)I chose was the 55. All I know is that I got lucky, because I had no clue what diameter to get and they fit perfectly. Unless you are 100% sure of what pair of sunglasses you want, I still think it's best to go to a sunglasses store and try some on and write down the information about the pair you like. I think more often than not, Amazon is cheaper than most of those stores.OH, IMPORTANT TIP: a lot of different stores or companies sell Ray-Ban's on Amazon, but not all of them are certified sellers. The certified sellers (of which Amazon is one) include a manufacturers warranty. When I say that Amazon is a certified seller, I'm not saying the website. Look at who is selling the sunglasses. If it says sold and fulfilled by Amazon, then you will get a manufacturers warranty. I don't know what other sellers on Amazon are "certified" sellers, but maybe someone else knows.Well worth the money...that's about all I can say.

First of all, these sunglasses arrived within 24 hours of placing the order, so all credit to Pretavoir, who also packed the item very securely. I've owned (and lost) quite a few pairs of Ray Bans in my time. Currently I own a pair Aviators with glass lenses, which I've had since the mid-80s, a pair of fold-up Wayfarers and a pair of 3183s, which I found in Central Park and go some way towards making up for the pairs I've managed to lose. I think Ray Ban make the best sunglasses in the world. They always offer the best protection with minimal optical distortion and the quality hasn't gone downhill since the company was bought by Police of Italy. They should last you a lifetime,if you don't manage to lose them. Ok, so onto this pair. Firstly, the blue mirror finish is a coating. The lenses themselves are the standard green Ray Ban type, so when you wear them, the world doesn't suddenly turn turquoise, but a subtle shade of green. Originally, a mirror finish wasn't any kind of gimmick, but offered the most effective way of reducing glare, simply by reflecting it. And in that regard, I think these are the most effective sunglasses I've owned. With the plastic lenses and minimal frame, the glasses are so light, you can wear them all day. The nose pads are easily adjustable, just by bending them into shape, for a perfect fit. A recent amble down the Kings Road on a sunny afternoon proved just how popular these Ray Bans are with the young, rich and beautiful, but that doesn't take away the fact that they are brilliant at the job they're designed to do. Very highly recommended.

I love these they are the standard 3025 aviators that ray ban has been making for many decades. They are the lightest glasses I have ever felt but the wire still has a lot of strength to them and I love how flat they fold up. The matt gold finish is really nice without being too gaudy and the blue Flash lenses will definitely attract attention. I bought these so I can wear them to Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas June 2014!!!! No one else better copy me =p5/10 - So the original pair I received had a very slight scratch on one of the lenses so I returned them and purchased another pair. I received the new pair and there are differences... First the glasses case is brown instead of black like the first time, but second and most importantly the color of the lenses are different. I am MUCH happier with these lenses they are more like the pictures on amazon but different from the first pair I received and ray-bans website. The first pair I got were much darker cobalt type blue and unlike the pictures on amazon which were a lighter teal type color. I had also ordered the Blue Flash versions of the RB4125 which were still different than the original 3025 I received but those 2 were closer to each other than this pair. The new 3025 I got are lighter and more teal and no longer have the cobalt purple flash to them which I like much much much MUCH more! But to anyone purchasing these be aware that buying the same item twice I received 2 totally different blue "flash" versions of the same glasses.

I love these glasses so much, I wear them at night. That's not a joke, I really can't stand fluorescent lighting; pair these with a set of earphones, and you're in your own little world! The glasses really do look as good as in the images, and the lenses can appear to be a completely different colour at different times of day and in different lighting. The polarisation is excellent. The glasses are excellent at reducing glare; they remove that starburst effect that can sometimes occur when car headlights or street lamps are in one's field of view.I have yet to find any problems with LCD displays due to the polarisation during normal usage, aside from using my phone (HTC One M9) in landscape mode. With most displays, if you tilt your head a full 90 degrees, the display turns black. Your glasses will inevitably be passed around the office, as you watch co workers craning their necks at phones, monitors and TVs. They're also pretty psychedelic underneath certain motorcycle helmet visors!I highly recommend these glasses to anyone, and trust me, you won't break them. My first pair of Ray Bans were my first pair of sunglasses that went unbroken for more than a single summer; those originals are still going strong after three years. Ray Bans are high quality, and expensive enough that you'll be sure to take care of them.I'd also recommend purchasing directly from Amazon. With so many counterfeits around, you can't be sure what you're getting.

Love these!! Very fun and trendy. Also if you've never had metal rimmed raybans (having only had plastic myself) I was pleasantly surprised how strong and how if you bend them, they go back to their factory shape (the part behind your ears reverts back, the nose pieces can be adjusted for comfort and fit). Some things to note, these made me take away a star, but don't seriously bother me:even though they say mirrored you can still barely see your eyes when people look at you. No covert people watching with these.the green tint and polarized mixed cause there to be some reflection on the inside of the lenses. So.. say if you're driving and the sun is behind you, you get a green reflection coming back at you, somewhat bothersome, but not enough for me to regret the purchase, and isn't intense.they get ridiculously dirty, like always, its crazy! the slightest touch of your finger adjusting them will leave very noticeable oil marks on the lenses. They come with a nice case and cleansing cloth but expect to be cleaning them EVERY TIME you put them on. It's annoying to look and constantly see you almost $200 sunglasses look like a sticky finger child has been holding them all day, when really you accidently swiped the lense when putting it in the case. I don't think this is a problem that can be avoided if your wanting to go with this green lense trend, so I just go with it, and keep some glasses cleaner in the case with them

I've now owned three pairs of Ray-Ban aviators and I will keep coming back to this style because of the look and quality. All of my pairs have been the 55mm gold frame with polarization. My first pair I owned for 4 years and they got a little scuffed and chipped (because I dropped them) by the time I replaced them. My second pair I owned for 3.5 years before they were stolen. Those were still totally fine with minor scuffing on the lenses and the hinges were getting loose. With my third pair, I'm planning on taking much better care of them than I did with the first two.As far as frame size, I'm 5'8" with a smallish but normal-width face and the 55mm frame fits my face just fine.My 5'3" wife has put them on and the 55mm fits her, too. Some people are concerned that they aren't getting real Ray-Bans when they buy online. I bought my first two pairs of aviators from stores and my third pair is the first I've bought online. The third pair is exactly the same as the first two in sturdiness and build quality and the polarization is working, so I'm certain they aren't knockoffs. When buying Ray-Bans online, I would just be sure the seller is Amazon.com itself or a reputable sunglass company. A company whose orders are fulfilled by Amazon is probably OK, too.

Despite their hefty price tag, purchasing something as iconic as Ray Band Aviators is what I would consider to be healthy once or twice a year... We all need treats! So imagine how I felt walking out of John Lewis with these babies on. The mirrored finish is a lot more striking than the Gold frame-Brown lens combo (as worn by Tom Cruise) and is only a few quid more. The strength of the frame is generally good - strong in the most important parts, but flexible enough to offer a comfy fit. I was speaking to someone else who has them, and he said that you can bend the frame to your liking.. Whether this is by the book I don't know, but they are extremely versatile! You'll receive the glasses in a lovely leather pouch with a couple of small booklets regarding their history. One of the reasons I decided to buy these from a reputable shop was that I know places like ebay are littered with thousands of fakes, even at thirty quid claiming to be genuine. The best advice I can give is to see them in person, try them on, then decide, as fakes don't offer Polarizing (Anti-glare) or 100% UV Protection like the genuine ones, even if they claim they do.I'll try to upload some photos soon of the frame/contents to offer some idea of what you should expect.

I see some reviews that state that the product they received was a fake and some of the pictures really do support that claim. However, the ones that I received to be an authentic pair based on a thorough inspection without anything that seemed out of place or of shoddy quality. Ultimately, I do believe it depends on the seller despite being "fulfilled by Amazon." I believe they can only be guaranteed authentic if the product is "shipped and sold by Amazon.com" not if it simply says "fulfilled by Amazon." I purchased my pair from Angel Seller and mine seemed to be a real and authentic pair.Furthermore, the product is great, but it is described as "large" regardless of if it is 58mm or 62mm,and as a male with a slightly bigger head than not I preferred the 62mm and had to return this one. The lens are glass and not extremely dark/black and provide great optics on a sunny day. The frame is sturdy and are not loose. All in all, excellent black on black sunglasses, and if you are spending > $100 on a nice pair to wear daily or for several years, I suggest you might as well spend the extra ~ $50 for the polarized pair. Plus, if you do happen to land on an authentic pair from Amazon, it is MUCH better than spending $200 from any other retailer.

I selected the "Arista" color on the page on Amazon. They appear to be the RB3025 001/51 from the picture, which is the pair I was wanting. The lens a are a slightly different color and the tips that go behind your ear are brown. The ones I got are actually the 001/3E, which are also an arista frame, but more of a salmon pink lense and clear tips behind the ear. Now when I go to my past orders, it shows a picture of the model that was shipped to me instead fo the model I was selecting when purchasing. Sunglass Express was the company that fulfilled my order through Amazon. When I was checking on the product page later, I noticed that selecting Arista turned up another seller.Be careful when buying Aviators off of Amazon because it will change the seller on you, and the one I first saw had a very bad rapport for selling people fakes. The ones I got are definitely real, appear to be made in Italy, so I'm hesitant to try going through returns to get the model I was wanting. They're still very attractive and amazing sunglasses worth five stars. I have to knock a star off from Amazon for veiling the process of determining what model I'm actually buying.

I was hesitant to purchase these after seeing the reviews that questioned the authenticity of these sunglasses and I wanted to clarify to those who are in the same situation as I was. Just do your research before purchasing. I made sure when I went to buy this product that in the top right corner, after I selected the color and lens mm options, that the site said it was "shipped and sold by amazon." I say this because as you filter through each color and mm option, who it ships and is sold by changes. I can imagine some people got the initial description "shipped and sold by amazon" when searching for these aviators, although after selecting the exact options they wanted, the company that sold them changed.Needless to say, I made sure mine were "shipped and sold by amazon" and I couldn't be happier! I double checked the sunglasses once they arrived and they are indeed authentic. If anyone is curious as to which aviators I purchased, they were they 58mm Arista gold/polarized crystal green glasses because that was the exact name of them that I had seen on the Ray Ban website.Good Luck and Happy Shopping!
