I bought the Holbrook with Ruby Prizm polarised lenses. I've watched all the videos online of people raving about them, but dismissed it as mostly marketing hype as most of those "reviewers" were people selling them and repeating the talking points Oakley's sales team gave them.I liked the look of them and fancied trying a nice pair of sunglasses for once in my life though. This site had them for £50 less than direct from Oakley and far less than I pay for Specs, so I took a punt.As soon as I put them on I was really impressed. Rather than just "turning the lights down" like most glasses do, these did enhance contrast and seemed to blow up the greens. On a late and sunny May day it looked awesome.I really like these glasses as I find those that "turn the lights down" can make me feel a bit cold and depressed when the clouds cover the sun, whereas these work just great as sunglasses, and do greatly reduce the brightness, but crucially they don't make everything too dark. The frames feel good quality too and I have had Oakley spectacles before and they were bullet proof and last donkeys years. Eventually the prescription went out after a decade or so, but whilst they were no longer useful from a lens perspective, the Oakley frames were still A1 condition. As for VFM, that's a tough one. We all know these cost a fraction of the price to make so they are selling at a massive markup. You pay for the name. You can buy no-name Chinese imports from Amazon for £15 (I have a few pairs) and they do the job really well. Some people report coatings coming off the lenses of those cheap ones though and that doesn't happen with Oakley. So I give them 5/5 overall, but the VFM can only be a 3/5. That's a personal thing though. If mine were stolen tomorrow, I'd buy another pair. Make of that what you will.

I will update this review accordingly, but I just received mine, and I really, really like this pair.Last summer, I bought very similar style sunglasses by Neff called "Chip". I dropped that one on the floor one day, and one section cracked very easily. The thing is, Holbrook's material has similar look & feel as the cheap plastic used on Neff Chip sunglasses. Of course, Oakley sells on reputation for being durable, so I'm sure Holbrook will be just fine. When I finally drop my Holbrook on the floor, I'll let you guys know what happens. As far as the design go, all I can say is that all the photos I've seen of them don't do them justice. In person, it looks so much better. Once you wear it,it's even better than before. Very well sculpted frame!I can confirm another review on the oil getting on the frame. Every time somebody tried it on(it was very popular with my coworkers), I had to wipe off the oil from the inner surface where the faces touched the frame. No Warranty: I just tried to register my pair on Oakley website, but it was denied. You can actually see in the pic I posted, but on the box these glasses come in, SKU/barcode is taped over with a photocopy, or printout of another SKU. Basically, Oakley site says that SKU is invalid. Invalid because if it's made-up, or because it is from an unauthorized dealer I'm not sure.I really like these glasses & I kind of doubt that they are counterfeit, but I may have to do little research. Be aware that SKU for the pair you receive may also not carry warranty(Oakley require matching SKU from the receipt to be registered on their website).

If you like the wayfarer style, but want to stand apart from the Ray Ban crowd (and in 2017 it seems that everyone's wearing Ray Bans), this might be just the thing. Initial impressions are that you've just paid lots of money for a pair of plastic glasses. But once that initial feeling subsides, and it will, you'll realise they're actually very well designed and built, with a simple classic design and of high quality. They are light weight and comfortable to wear and also fit the face very well. There's no danger of them falling off as they grip snugly without feeling tight. They're on the larger side, but not oversized on an average male head, so they protect the eyes well from the Sun's rays. They look cool too with their tiny accents of metal adding to the otherwise plain matt black frames. The warm tone of the lenses is a joy to look through, improving many a drab UK scene. Additionally, the lenses appear black to others when worn - so your eyes are not really visible in most circumstances. Apparently the lenses are also swappable, so if you damage them, you don't have to ditch the glasses themselves. Alternatively, you could just update them for a new look with different coloured, or perhaps polarising, lenses.Overall then, I'm happy with them and, as a first time Oakley user who still also uses Ray Ban and American Optical too, I hope this initial review is one I will still stand by in year's time. I'll be back to update you if not! Roll on those sunny days...

Another reassuring review and some things I noticed about the particular pair I bought. I got the grey/black iridium. I registered them on the Oakley site with no issues. (proof they're authentic), My sunglasses we're technically called Grey Ink frames, which is Oakley's line of transparent frames. I do not like these frames, and actually returned them, because you can see reflections in the frames and I constantly was turning my head thinking there's something moving next to me. Also, non polarized was just not good enough glare protection for the Florida sun. Don't get me wrong, these lenses are fantastic, but I wouldn't recommend non polarized for extreme light.Another reviewer stated that if you get these sunglasses directly from Amazon, they are almost certainly authentic because of Oakley and Amazon policy. One reviewer mentioned that he couldn't register his pair, which made me think of this: I registered my pair and then returned them. So if someone buys my returned sunglasses, will they be able to register them? Just a thought. either way, you can always send them back if you're not happy.I give them 5 stars because I love the look and feel of these sunglasses, I just didn't like the particular style I purchased. Consider who you're buying from and whether you need polarized or not.

Pros: Excellent polarized lenses, light frames, great construction, no metal screws or partsCons: needs a larger carrying caseI've been wearing Spy's for years now and decided to give another brand a try. It was a toss up between Oakley and Von Zipper, in the end I felt the Oakleys best fit what I was looking for. I did some research to find the correct arm sizes and lens shapes; as I recommend you do to since not everybody has the same size face.A word about the seller "IslandSurf": When I purchased these I received them in a timely manner but when I opened the box there was nothing inside except a empty Oakley box. I contacted the seller immediately and they were great. They responded quickly and politely. They were apologetic and promised to fix this within a specific time frame. The crazy part, is that they did. I was in constant contact with them and the issue was resolved faster than the timeline that they promised it within. : ) As you can imagine I was not happy about the whole situation, especially since this is what people fear when buying online; however they squished all fears I might have had due to their great customer service. I did eventually receive my Oakleys, which are fantastic, and have had zero problems with them or the seller.

Great sunglasses for lots of use. They do not comply with road use regulations though but I have no idea why as colours are more vibrant and contrast is improved. The polarising lens is effective. I bought them purely because I noticed a sight anomaly and I didn't want to take a chance on alternatives. They grip the side of the head securely and are both comfortable and well made. However, there is no spring on the arms to permit accidental opening more than 90 degrees. They feel reasonably sturdy yet are light weight. I expect many years of use from them. Are they really with it? Not really. The price is probably mostly for the name though as a back to back comparison against Polaroid glassesand cheaper Q-Queen glasses indicated Oakley are a little better but they are the innovator in prismatic colouring. The Prizm makes colours more vivid and richer. I'd check the Oakley website though as I'd have saved £50 as I bought from Vistaexpert but prices seem to change or may that was a Brexit thing. Nonetheless, look at the Oakley website to ensure the correct choice is made as Prizm is only available with some lenses.

Amazon seller Pretavoir has similar high prices at the time of writing this review.

I love the glasses. However, while the matte finish is good looking, and part that comes into contact with skin oils will get shiny instantly. Even from fingertips. Doesn't require "oily" complexion. Not too much of a bother, but worth noting. Also, my glasses came in the oakley microfiber bag ONLY, which was in a generic white box packed inside an Amazon carton. They were NOT in retail packaging and contained NO warranty paperwork. I have no concerns about their authenticity, but this was a bit surprising. All lens etchings / stem prints are appropriate and accurate.About the glasses, it's a slightly less hipster wayfarer style, and lighter than standard ray-bans. They feel good on,are bigger (which I like), and provide great sun covereage. The keyhole bridge is interesting and looks good. The "oakley" symbols are understated, which I prefer.

I got this a week ago and went to the movies this past tuesday and saw that ice cube and maybe others will be wearing them in the new movie 22 jump street. Ice cube is still cool right? I feel validated and because i am shallow it makes me happy that celebrities are wearing these also and people will start to wear them and i will fit in yay for me. Just kidding. Actually the truth is i sold my ray ban wayfarers because when i got them few people were wearing them and now that everyone is i wanted to go a bit different. I just hope these dont become the next way farers. They are nice sunglasses even though i always thought oakleys for a little flashy for my style these look more laid back as long as you dont go for a bright tacky color like Guy Fieri would.Dont be like guy fieri, no one likes a 40 something year old trying to be 19

Love the look of the wood grain, they fit great even on my big head. They don't feel like the squeeze behind my ears like some sunglasses, which ends up giving me a headache.I had Hobie Mojo Woodgrains before this, which I liked but were stolen, and I can't find them anymore. These are much lighter than the Mojos (Not sure if that's good or bad, but you don't feel them on as much which is nice.)This is my first foray int the Prizm lens, I've always got polarized from other manufacturers though. I have to say the Prizm Daily Polarized lens is great. It doesn't darken everything so much like usual shades with polarization, it somehow brings down the brights while keeping detail in shadows intact.Your eyes can be seen through them, which doesn't matter to me but if you're using them for poker or something it might to you.

The product I received looks great and this was the best price I found on them. I searched all over the Internet trying different coupon code combinations, and this was by far the best value. My husband has been wanting these for awhile now and I can't wait until he opens them on Christmas. They were packaged very carefully, double boxed and wrapped in cellophane, which I appreciated because they could easily be broken. They also came with a drawstring bag to keep them in when not in use. The matte black is very sleek. If you are wanting to buy a pair of Oakley's, you should definitely consider buying them from this seller. They were shipped to me very quickly and I couldn't be happier with what I received.

These sunglasses are simply brilliant. Whilst not polarized, they still provide excellent clarity. They are comfortable and have a good weight (light, but not so much that you're scared that they will float off your face). The shape ultimately comes down to personal opinion, but I think they look great, particularly if you have a face that is a little more rounded. If like me, you have been umm-ing and ahh-ing as to whether to take the plunge and splash out on a pair of Oakleys, I can thoroughly recommend these sunglasses (however you might want to get a hard case to protect them). I think I prefer looking through these lenses that my own eyes...

Great sunglasses- I especially love the lense tint. I almost thought these were fake when I first opened them because they're so light compared to my other Oakleys, but I did confirm they're real. The price is a little higher than I think it should be, as these feel like a larger coverage Frogskin, but I can't complain as they were purchased as a gift to me. If I purchased a pair outright (which I'm thinking of picking up in a different color), I would rate them at four stars. One thing that surprised me is that Amazon is not considered an online retailer of their glasses, so your warranty will not be extended by registering your glasses.

Very nice sunglasses...very lightweight and they are definitely genuine oakleys...i like how they are putting the USA on the earpiece so you know you are not getting some China Rip off! When buying these sunglasses i would never buy from any seller other than Amazon because i simply do not trust other sellers because of past issues of not being "Authentic". This is a big deal to me cheap lenses give me enormous headaches and I drive alot in my line of work...these Polarized sunglasses take away most of the road glare and make a bright day very easy on your eyes...also I love the Holbrook style it fits my face well. 5 stars!!!!!

Great shape, pretty classic Oakley lifestyle glasses now. Definitely on the larger side, going for the action sports market. Violet iridium is a great lens; one thing to note is the color gradient is not uniform. Looking through the glasses normally, there is a slight violet/ruby look, but at other angles, such as tilting your head up and looking through the bottom portion, the lens shifts green. Not a problem, just something to keep in mind that although the exterior is not a gradient, there is some in the lens. The photograph here is pretty accurate to the color of the lenses and accents you will get.
