Ray Ban Wayfarers have to be the funkiest looking shades in the world. As many readers of "a certain age" will know, they were popularised by the Blues Brothers, but have of course been around for somewhat longer. They have gone in and out of fashion ever since they were first designed in the 1950's and one design critic suggested that the angular shape of the frame hints at an unstable dangerousness (presumably in the wearer). Whatever. The much copied design is timelessly classic and when you don a pair you immediately go up the cool scale a notch or two.Enough of all that! Not only do they look good, but genuine Wayfarers are well made; sturdy enough to withstand frequent use,careless handling and generally rough treatment. My first pair lasted me many years until, as one does, I drove my father's Jeep over them.Along with all that, Wayfarers fold flat (even before being driven over). That sounds a little superficial, but it means that they can be slipped easily and unobtrusively into a breast pocket. I can't do that with my other pair of sunglasses (Oakley Whiskers).Of course, the most important part of the shades is the lens. Wayfs don't have particularly big lenses and they aren't polarised, but they are sufficiently heavily tinted to make them perfectly acceptable for driving, even in the harshest sunlight. I frequently alternate between these and the polarised Whiskers and I have to say that there's not a lot between them.About the only criticism I can think of is that they're perhaps a little heavy, but they fit so snugly that I barely notice. Final plus point is the case and it's probably fair to say that if my first pair of Wayfs had been in theirs at the time, they would have had little to fear from Dad's 4x4.I firmly believe that you can scrimp and save on some things: clothes, food, housing, entertainment and so on, but the essentials, like a good pair of sunglasses, come at a price and it is a price worth paying.Jake: Got any fried chicken?Mrs. Murphy: Best damn chicken in the state.Jake: Bring me four fried chickens and a Coke.Mrs. Murphy: You want chicken wings or chicken legs?Jake: Four fried chickens. I've been wearing the Original Wayfarer sunglasses for over 35 years. Back then, you didn't need to call them "Original", because there was only one Ray-Ban Wayfarer. Ray-Ban now makes a newer version that they say is a modern interpretation of the Original.They say the "New Wayfarer" looks more natural on your face. The angles of the lenses are drastically toned down, and the lenses are smaller and more natural looking. I couldn't agree more. That's why I don't like the "New Wayfarer".A friend told me he always loved my Wayfarers, but never bought a pair because he didn't think they looked natural on his face. That's when I explained to him that they don't look natural on ANYONE'S face,and that's the point. People wear them BECAUSE they look don't look natural.That's why so many A-List celebrities wear Original Wayfarers. It's all about attitude.When I explained this to my friend, he finally "got it", and that changed everything for him. He realized they didn't look any more natural on my face than his, but they did fit my attitude. I wear them with pride, and I'm equally comfortable wearing them in T-shirts and jeans as I am at a black tie event.

I ordered this for my teenage son who has been wanting cool looking sun glasses. White frame with Black Lens. We shopped around for a similar product at Lenscrafters, Sunglass Hut etc. Found the price to be too high ... it was close to $150 with additional tax we have to pay .... at 8.3% here in Texas, I would end up paying close to $165 !! Additionally the stores sell only product that is on shelf ... who know how long it had been used.Anyway, when the product came, the box itself looked a little shabby ... mean the Rayban box. Looked tattered. But when I opened the sunglasses were neatly kept inside the Rayban glass holder. It was really neat.Gave choice to my son and he loved it from the instant he saw.I was pleased as I saved money by buying it on Amazon as well.I mostly buy on-line products through Amazon, unless the price differential is too high or worth the risk. With Amazon I have found it is easy to return and money is refunded without hassle. If there are any issues they have always taken care of me.So this has been a win-win situation for me. I would recommend to buy this product from Amazon to anyone ...friends or foe !!!!

My eyes are extremely sensitive to sunlight, and after a lifetime of wearing cheap $10 scratched-up sunglasses that seemed to only help a little bit, I decided I needed a good quality pair of big-kid glasses. After just a couple wears, I'm regretting not buying these sooner! What a world of difference. Everything looks crisp and clear, and my eyes don't feel strained at all. I'd never even held a pair of Wayfarers before buying these, so I was a bit nervous about making such a big purchase, but I'm so glad I dove in and went for it. Upon taking them out of the box, I was really impressed at how sturdy they are. You can tell they're made from quality materials, but they don't feel heavy on your face.My only minor complaint, is that they do bump against my cheek bones when I smile which feels slightly awkward, but no huge deal. I have a small somewhat narrow face so I was worried that these would swallow me, but they don't! It's true that these really do look good on anyone and make you feel like a rockstar.

These are AMAZING. I will never go back to normal $5 sunglasses again. My boyfriend recently purchased a pair of 2140 50 ray bans and while they looked amazing on him I felt not so great about how they looked on me. So he researched and found the "asian fit" ray bans. I'm Asian-American so I thought I would give it a go because the normal 2140's sit on my cheek bones (an uncomfortable amount) and slide down my nose. Plus the size 50 is a little bit too small for my wider/rounder face. So I took a chance and ordered these. I LOVE THEM. The big difference is they don't tilt in as much as "normal" ray bans, the nose bridge is way longer, and you can get them in a slighter bigger size the 52.It made all the difference. The glasses don't touch my cheek bones AT ALL and sit in a flattering way on my face and the larger size offsets my wider face. I LOVE THEM. Would totally recommend to any asian americans who have problems with nose bridges or anyone who has a wider face or smaller nose.

I am not the kind of person to wear sunglasses, especially bold looking ones like these. I must say that the second I put these on, I was a little embarassed because of their boldness. After a couple minutes, I noticed people looking at me a little more, in a good way. The more I felt comfortable wearing them, the more attention I got from females. I love these glasses, and I love the attention I get when they are on my face. It gives you a swagger that wasn't there before putting them on. I have a friend who doesn't even wear his imitation wayfarers around me because people notice the difference in quality. If you are on the fence about buying a pair of these glasses, go ahead and buy them.You will NOT regret it. To sum it all up, these glasses are bold, stylish, and give you swagger with the opposite $ex. They are a little expensive, so if you don't have the money to buy them comfortably, don't.

I LOVE these sunglasses! I've always liked the classic Wayfarer style but have a love for funky fun accessories. I had originally wante the Mars color of the Cosmo line but when I saw them in person, the colors did not match what I saw online. These (Jupiter) were my second choice online but when I saw them in person, I knew they were the ones! The color of these are gorgeous! The irridescent purple and blue are fun but not overly crazy. The sparkle in the finish is also a great added touch! The lens tint is a grayish green so visually, those colors are pretty vibrant when you see them through the glasses.The mirror is silver and a nice compliment to the purple and blue.The lenses also don't compete too much with the frame. Some of the others in this line showcase the lenses more than frame. I suppose that is just up to personal preference but personally, I like more of the focus on the frame.

Purchased from Amazon and shipped by Amazon. Superb as you would expect in both looks and quality, the fit is perfect and the original Green Lenses are a large part of what made these a world leader.Only downside,(reason for 4 stars rather than 5) purchased the "Biege" version which appear Tortoishell in the pictures, in reality they are almost Black, you need to hold them up to a bright light to see anything other than black, but I am not concerned enough to return them and still feel I got a bargain.Couple of tips to check if genuine1) steel wire inside arms, may need to hold up to light to see it2) RB Lazer etched in lens, need to hold under a light and get the angle right to see it (like a newer Rolex or Omega watch)if it is engraved and you can feel it with your finger nail It is Wrong3) Angle of lens part of frame to arms should quite severe and not 90degrees

I have been saving up to buy Ray-bans cos I love sunglasses and I know my first high end glasses will be from here. I found a Ray-ban kiosk one day and decided to try on glasses, first tried on the medium aviators, then the clubmasters, I really wanted the oversized clubmasters but it was out of stock that day. Then I found these! They fleck looked really different and cool, when I tried them on i fell in love! So I bought it that day.The only thing I wish I can do something is the nose piece thing. I have a bump on the left side of my nose then I wouldn't feel with clubmasters cos the nose guards move. With these, the sunglasses sits on my left cheek more and it annoys me. But overall,i love this and with a lot of wear the arms already loosen up and adjusted with my face so it fits perfectly already. My next one will be clubmasters!

I enjoy wearing these sunglasses; however, I enjoy wearing the new wayfarers even more. Most of the reviews that I have read are spot on. The arm pieces are a little bit short, I'm one of the fortunate ones who is blessed ti have a small enough head size for the arm peices to still fit comfortably. The new wayfarers are lighter and more comfortable to wear than the originals. If I had to chose between the two, I would recommend purchasing the new wayfarers. The lense sizes are a little bit wider, but a little bit shorter in the new wayfarers. Also, the arm peices are much longer too...So, if your head size is a bit larger than the average size, about a 7 1/2 to an 8,than I would recommend purchasing the new wayfarers. Anyway, you can't go wrong with either style. Take Care

These are wonderful, classic sunglasses. I knew I wanted a pair but wasn't sure whether to get the old or new as many people are. The New Wayfarers are a little less bold. so as first I was leaning towards that, but the more I tried the Originals on I got used to them. They have a big slant that feels funny at first, but now it feels right. They have the comfort and ability to stay on my face that other glasses don't have. They are also a superior build to the New Wayfarers which is why they are about 20 bucks extra. Like any good pair of shades, they cost a pretty penny. Luckily though, Sunglass Hut has a great replacement discount that will cover half the cost of your glasses in the first year.By the way, these stylish old Wayfarers also protect your eyes from the sun!

I was hesitant to buy these sunglasses because of the price.. Reading the comments, they all said they are totally worth the price and wow were they right! I am absolutely in love with these and have never gotten a pair of sunglasses that are such great quality! These are my first Ray-Bans and I will for sure be purchasing more in the future. My face is rounder and I always hate small framed sunglasses on my face that's why I was hesitant.. I ended up ordering the larger frame and they are AMAZING!! Seriously, if you are thinking about it, just do it!! I ordered these yesterday afternoon and received them in the mail this morning. Never before have I had such great customer service and shipping that is free!So beyond satisfied with my purchase!

I ordered from Sunglasses Express and received a legitimate pair of Ray Bans. I watched a couple of youtube videos to point out the differences between fakes and real shades. This one has passed every test to my knowledge: one piece frame with no seams, metal hinges with trust bars in each arm. glass lenses with precision cut RB logo. The top of the frame sits tilted outwards just like they always have. All printed details are accurate and don't rub off. I ordered the 54mm because I have a larger head and they fit very well. The classic Wayfarer design is perfect for larger heads and go well with any outfit. Would love if they produced these with a matte finish like my New Wayfarers

I own a pair of the Aviators and was always borrowing my boyfriends Wayfarers. With different shaped faces they still worked! I wanted something practical for the beach or city strolling. I was interested in something classic with a dark lenses. Something large enough that they would keep me from getting too many freckles but also not completely overtake my face and make me look like a giant bug. I got the black frames with the green lenses. The color combo doesn't distract from my skin tone. The slant of the frame isn't too noticeable once on. They look black, solid, stylish and iconic while feeling comfortable. The only bad thing is that you will want them in every other color!

I bought this style of Ray Ban about 6 months ago and had the transition lenses and the crizal coating on them and I love them! I always get compliments and the color of the frame is perfect because red is favorite color. Only complaint is that they slip down on your face easily. Especially if I’ve been sweating a lot. I was slight upset when I had the special made lenses put in because they didn’t put on the Rayban P on the corner of my lens. Nevertheless I love my glasses and am very happy with my purchase. Next year I’m going to put more money in my FSA to buy another speacial made ray bans. I wish I would’ve put more money in my fsa and I would’ve bought another pair!
