John Frieda Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Moisturising Conditioner is a remarkably excellent product.I passed this over to my wife for testing- not for the reason my long golden locks have vanished you understand- just that she is the expert.(See the crossed fingers and nose growing longer). At the time of writing the price, at under four pounds, is a bargain for a conditioner of this quality and pedigree.Although only 250ml in volume a little really does go a long way.My advice to apply half the amount you think you will need then half it again and get to the right level of moisturising you require. You may be pleasantly delighted at just how little you need.If you use more you will only be rinsing it down the drain. My wife reports as follows.'it is very easy to open the cap and is easy to apply to the hair.'it smells slightly fragrant and is pleasant.''It is ideal for natural blonde/fair or even champagne coloured hair. After use my wife's was shiny and soft to touch (see the glint in my eye|)After she blow dried her hair into place the conditioner seemed to have added highlights although this was not mentioned on the packaging. In short she was mightyly impressed witht this excellent conditioner. To sum up.Pleasant to apply, works well and from a well-known and trusted brand at a low price- perfect? We think so.5 stars/

I really like John Frieda's Hair Products and regularly use the 'Frizz Ease' range for my thick dark brown hair.My daughters hair is already naturally blonde, however she does insist on lightening it even further and uses a blonde dye to do so. I have asked her to try this John Frieda 'Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Brightening Shampoo' (a bit of a mouthful to be sure) … and she was thrilled to give it a go to say the least. This scented shampoo comes in a 250ml tube, the shampoo is fairly thick and creamy in texture and has a pearl iridescent colour. It has an attractive smell and a little goes a long way.My daughter wet her hair, then squeezed a small amount (five pence piece)into the palm of her hand and shampooed her hair … twice. Then she blow dried her hair and the end result was superb. Not only did her hair look and feel silky soft, it had a decent amount of volume and a wonderful shine. It also looked a little brighter than before she washed it. My daughter has used this product quite a few times now and she is convinced that her hair looks brighter and quite a bit lighter … another convert to John Frieda products, she intends to use the conditioner in this range as well.

A friend of mine had already recommended this shampoo to me before I ever got to try it, so I was very pleased to give it a go. She said she really felt that her blonde highlights were improved by using this shampoo, and was very effusive about it.Using it for myself, it wasn’t quite the miracle product that my friend pitched it as. To use it’s a very straightforward, everyday shampoo- pale coloured and neither very thin nor very thick, it lathers easily and works as well as most regular brands in the simple task of keeping hair clean. My hair felt neither more or less itchy after using it compared to my regular shampoo, so that’s fine. However my hair’s not as pale as my friend’s and I didn’t really notice a colour difference after using it,and my partner didn’t seem to think it was making a colour difference either. So there’s certainly nothing wrong with this shampoo- it’s packaged in a very ‘supermarket brand’ fashion in a very ordinary bottle without the ridiculous trappings and price tag that you can sometimes face- I didn’t experience the whole “highlight activating brightening” thing for myself.

If you are looking for a conditioner which nourishes and takes care of your hair and then adds something to your blonde colour then this is a very good bet. It comes in a very good value 500ml salon style pump action dispenser so you can control what you use easily. The texture is creamy and the fragrance is light and slightly citrus. One of its best features is that it lathers very well and you do not need a large quantity to cover even long hair. It is best left on for about five minutes and then rinsed out leaving hair shiny and manageable. Where it works especially well is if you have blonde highlights in coloured hair and here you notice the maintenance and slight enhancement of their colour over time.If you have completely blonde hair the effect is less dramatic and will take longer, but you are still offered a really rich protective conditioner with some intensifying of your natural shade. This product is really nice to use offering a touch of luxury as well as easy to comb, protected hair especially for blondes. Well worth trying.

SMELL=====I've had this range before and could smell it before opening. It's a nice smell, not overpowering. I supposed I'd say it's slightly scented.CONDITIONER===========That said, a conditioner's job is to condition not have a powerful smell. This was perfect. Especially after using the matching shampoo.Although the tube is well made it looks modern and is easy to use.MAGIC======However, I don't have particularly fussy hair, but I can say this is ONE OF THE BETTER conditioners I've used.HAIR TYPE========It's if you have drier hair or damaged hair this is great. It says it adds a bit of vibrancy to blond hair. I can't say it did. It didn't make it duller and it was certainly added a softness.I do think this is good for all hair types.I've tried it on all types. (we're a family of all types) If pushed I'd say it's better with normal hair.OVERALL========I like it, I'm no expert, but I was a hairdresser many many years ago.One to put on your shortlist if you're after an efficient conditioner for blond hair.

I love the John Freida range for blonde hair! This was an economical price from Amazon. The bottle has changed it’s look to a picture of sunlight and it’s now called Highlight Activating for Blondes Moisturising Shampoo (with light reflectors) - but the ingredients are still the same with the added avocado oil. The convenient pump action is still there too.My long hair gets pretty dry with the colouring - I use Castings Semi Permanent in the Pearl Blonde shade but it always lightens my hair permanently! After a while it gets quite dried out and tangly, so I prefer the addition of the avocado oil, along with the camellia leaf and sunflower oil, to keep my hair in better condition than any other blond shampoo. The thick creamy consistency smells gorgeous too and really does keep fair hair looking lighter and brighter and prevents fading; without adding unwanted colour or bleaching your hair in any way. Used with the matching conditioner I don’t think there’s anything better.

I currently have my natural colour lightened to a strawberry blonde and wondered how this shampoo would manage with that.Firstly, I was impressed by the shampoo itself. Pleasantly fragranced, it was creamy and lathered well, and didn't leave my hair feeling dry or tangled - quite an achievement on my curls! It rinsed easily too.Once dry - which I did naturally and without using any product - my hair was a little fluffy but that is usual under those circumstances. Even after one use, the colour looked brighter and the ends and highlights lighter.I will probably use this again.EDITED TO ADD: I've been using this for three weeks now and my hairdresser cut my hair today. Without prompting, she noticed how well the colour was looking, and that it was still bright after two months. She also commented on how glossy my hair was looking. I'm calling this a result - my hairdresser is very straight talking!

I am reviewing the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Brightening Shampoo 250ml. Here are my thoughts:^^ This shampoo has a lovely creamy texture, just massage into wet hair, lather and rinse.^^ Apparently, it's a clarifying shampoo which moisturises and reactivates faded and dull highlights. I certainly feel this is true, as my hair colour appears brighter and glossier after use.^^What I also liked after using both of the shampoo and conditioner is how my hair felt totally soft and detangled, too.^^ 250ml is quite a large tube of shampoo and well worth the money. It's also currently available via Amazon's 'Subscribe and Save' option.Overall: I really like this shampoo. My hair feels lovely and soft after using this, especially when followed with the matching Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Brightening Conditioner. Will be buying more of both.

After using this blonde shampoo I was a total convert. My hair has generally been getting a little less blonde every year since being a teenager, veering towards strawberry blonde on my worst days. Although I don't have highlights or bleach, this John Frieda shampoo seems to take away some of the dullness and lighten my hair just subtly back in the blonde direction that I remember.I've been using it every day and it doesn't feel too harsh or unsuitable for everyday use. It's lasting well and leaves my hair feeling fresh and light. I've only docked a star for the pearly gold of the shampoo itself, which looks very attractive but I'm sure must be completely artificial, unnecessary and wasteful. It's good marketing I'm sure, but I bet the production would have far less impact on the world if they didn't go to such efforts to make the shampoo metallic gold!

This is a standard conditioner with the big advantages of no colouring and none of the nasty ingredients such as parabens or isothiozonalones. This means that we can both actually use it without experiencing any scalp irritation, and sure enough the hair does look more glossy and shiny with better reflectance. The more hygienic pump action 500ml bottle is a very great advantage over the usual 250ml tube which can accumulate stale water within the fixed outer portion of the flip-top cap.Addendum. 19th September 2018.The 500ml bottle has lasted all this time with excellent results for both of us and no irritation on our sensitive scalps. It is so good that I have just bought another bottle. The only (very minor)downside is that the last inch is more difficult to pump out and needs a bit of persuasion to settle down around the pick-up tube.

I've got blonde hair anyway, so it probably took a bit longer for me to notice the 'highlighting' benefits of this shampoo. That said, there is definitely a lightening effect - so it does what it says on the tin. I found it left my hair a little drier and more brittle after frequent use - I suspect there must be some bleach in here somewhere, even at a very dilute level, in order to get the highlighting effect. So I'd probably alternate using this with a more intensive-care shampoo and conditioner. On the more basic review elements - it lathers well, a little goes a fairly long way, and it comes in a big bottle which should last a fair while, so it's good value for money. The pump action on my bottle didn't work properly, wouldn't pop up so it couldn't pump - and it took a fair amount of fiddling and wasted product to get it unstuck.

This product didn't suit my hair at all, so I passed it to my sister who absolutely loves it. She is lucky enough to still have fair(ish), curly hair which she wears longer than mine. So the following is her opinion:“The pump action container is easy to use and control even with arthritic hands. It has a lovely light, slightly citrussy, fragrance, and a light texture. So, use a small amount – a little goes a long way – work it into the hair, leave for a few minutes, and rinse out. It leaves my hair feeling really soft, and as for the blonde highlights – really effective on my hair. This is a really good product, at a reasonable price.”I must say, just to add my own observation – my sister's hair looks bright and shiny without being brassy. It's just added a lovely glow to her hair.

First and foremost this is a good quality conditioner which leaves my hair soft and shiny and helps to make brushing out tangles a little easier. It smells pleasant, it's hard to say what of exactly as it is more of a perfume scent than a "fruity" one. The scent lingers on my hair for roughly a day, makingmit smell clean and fresh when you get close up.The "highlight activating" is something which builds over use (and as recommended it is best if it is used with the matching shampoo) it takes a little while but, rather like a chamomile shampoo it gets there in the end, normally half way through a tube I can tell the difference, with my hair looking brighter. The tube stands on its lid, which means gravity helps you get the product out and the flip, top is easy to use with wet hands.

Seems to be a nice conditioning product but not really making a vast amount of difference if really honest to be my high lights or blonde coloured hair. Does leave my hair feeling soft and dare I say it too soft so a bit harder for me to style into a curly style after using. Not left lank or greasy but just a bit too baby soft for me.Think it makes a great conditioner though more so come summer when hair out in sun and feeling the effects of it and needing some moisture to bring it back to looking nice and shiny again. Thing is though for me I am using it more as a conditioning item more so than a keep your colour in one if honest. Not just after each wash either though but when hair warrants it.So four star for the softness it leaves my hair but for the price expensive.

This is an all round nice product and so scores for me a solid 4**** review, only losing a star because of price. I think that's fair because while I like this shampoo and it's overall packaging/presentation it hasn't specifically done a better job overall than my standard shampoo which is around 30% cheaper. First off, the smell is OK, perhaps a tad on the 'chemical' side of natural. The pump-action bottle is well put together and very easy and reliable in operation. The shampoo itself goes onto the hair very easily and foams well. You don't need very much of it, tho unless you hold off a little with the pump-action you will get a big dollop and so may find you're wasting it. My hair felt good afterwards,so definitely a product worth considering.
