Well this is definitely a must have for blonde hair. Amazing.I can’t understand the bad comments, which could put some people off from purchasing. It works, 100%, without question. Maybe some people don’t know how to use it, but that’s not an excuse for a bad review. (When you use this product for so long and then read some of those comments, they’re actually amusing, as they just can’t be true.)If you have blonde hair/highlights/balayage it is the best at neutralising those orangey tones. Check all those before and after pictures, check their Instagram account!I don’t think it works on darker hair, that’s why they have a different shampoo for that.Having said that, I have dark roots and when I use it,it works on all my hair, not only the blonde bits.I have been using it for a few years. There are different ways to apply it. Usually, when I’m in the shower, I shampoo my hair once, rinse it, then apply a generous amount of Fanola (double the quantity of my regular shampoo). I massage it well, until it creates that foam and it becomes a lighter shade of purple. I bring all my hair up, like in a bun, and try to gather all the excess foam on the ‘bun’, as this holds the lighter ends of my hair. I leave it 5-10 mins, while I wash my body, then rinse it well (specially the scalp!), then condition as usual. I do this once a week maybe.Or, for more intense results, I apply it and get out of the shower, leaving it longer, maybe 20 mins. Then rinse and condition as usual.Works without fail. The results are amazing, colour doesn’t turn you hair into purple or blue (that means your hair is really damaged due to bleach, or you just haven’t followed the process right!!). Not to mention the smell, softness and the nice feel it gives to your hair! Feels like you’ve been to the hairdressers, honestly. It has been recommended to me by a hairdresser, I have recommended it to other people and would never buy another brand. I’m quite sure this is the best you can get.I have the 1L bottle, and lasts forever.I have to mention my hair is not in great condition either, but this product makes me forget about any split ends, thinning or hair loss. You will NOT regret buying this.

I've coveted this product for a while as the YouTube videos herald this as a magic solution to all your brassy problems. I have spent the past 8 years dying my hair dark plum colour and fighting the grey roots was becoming tiresome. I used 'Colour B4' to strip the plum out of my hair which it did so far better than I had hoped and put Nice n Easy Light Ash blonde over that to lift it closer to my natural colour. This left my hair looking like one of the new shiney pound coins - aka Ginge! I was expecting this to be the case having put red pigmented dye on for so many years. So - I couldn't wait to try out Fanola No Yellow to try toning it down as soon as Mr Amazon delivered it.Firstly, the product was very well packaged - no leaks, spills or seepage so big thumbs up there.I was cautious the first application expecting immediate and drastic change so I wet my hair and lathered it on for five minutes. Gloves are recommended but as I didn't have any I just accepted my fate of purple palms and blue fingernails. The result - I didn't see one so I went on for another go and gave it five more minutes. Again - I could see no difference when I had dried my hair so decided to go all out and walloped another load on dry before leaving another five minutes. I then rinsed and applied a large glob of hair repair conditioner before rinsing that out. After drying my hair I can see a difference, it isn't as brassy as when I started and am happy with the result and feel it was a worthwhile purchase. The gold shimmer has dulled but kept the lighter colouring of my hair.I do recommend applying lots of conditioner and coconut oil / moroccan oil or alternate with both afterwards as it is quite drying. I will try again in a few days to see if regular use has more effect. And will buy gloves!

Top tips- IT IS SUPER RUNNY and USE GLOVES or BAGS ON YOUR HANDS. I personally find the smell pretty awful.I used a high lift blonde dye on my naturally dark blonde/light brown hair which was blonder on the ends. I wanted to go lighter and to have an even hair colour. My hair was left a very golden yellow colour, it was even, my roots weren't hot but it was too artifical looking. I tried to use a dark ash blonde over it, but it appeared to make it more yellowy. I tried numerous purple shampooing sessions with the provoke brightening shampoo and their colour mask. It was gradually getting more ashy but the purple shampoo wouldn't deposite any pigment on the root section.I used the fanola shampoo initially on dry hair but only my root sections,I ended up taken it off after 5 minutes because I thought it would turn it purple (I didn't), it didn't really look any different. So I tried again on wet hair, I went through in sections, applying to my roots first and then I left it. Still not a massive difference. The next night I applied to my roots on dry hair and left for 20 mins. I could finally see a change so I left it 2 days and then applied again in sections (like dye) to my hair, starting with my roots, and I left it for 1 HOUR. When I washed it out I was very happy with the colour, I'm finally not embarrased to walk outside and to work. Some sections which were lighter to start with, turned a little purple/white but overrall they just look more ashy.I'm going to keep using but as shampoo until I can go back to the hairdressers. My tips: use on dry hair, wipe away any shampoo from your skin ASAP and be prepared for your scalp to be slightly purple, use conditioner afterwards and trust the process.

I have highlighted hair that has a warm undertone - combine that with the fact that my hairdresser was able to lift my colour from almost black with purple and red box dyes underneath I needed a purple shampoo to combat the brassy undertones. I tried a few different ones but they are very drying and with intensely lifted hair it was important for me to not further damage it.Tried this shampoo and paired it with the Fanola Repairing Conditioner and it's been brilliant.I bought a pack of pumps because the bottle is so large and heavy it's a bit difficult to use without a pump. They're cheap enough to pick up on Amazon. The smell is lovely, quite grapey, and the violate colour is intense. It doesnt stain the scalp and whilst it will turn hands purple a bit of soap always gets this off unless you have patches of very dry skin or cuts. But it doesnt stain like other purple shampoos I've tried. It foams nicely and cleans the hair well without causing scalp dryness or irritation and it really works. It stops all brassiness in blonde hair, makes my hair a beautiful beige / platinum shade and its gorgeous. If you use it too much or don't rinse it properly it can give it a violet hue but a normal wash will get rid of this. The best thing about this shampoo is the great results and no compromise on condition. Using the Fanola conditioner will help but you can tell once you've rinsed the shampoo out your hair doesnt feel like straw and my hairdresser has been so impressed by me using this shampoo she is no recommending it to her clients.I'm really happy I've found it because I love my blonde hair but need to keep it from going yellow and in good condition and this is perfect for it.

I decided to colour my roots from mousy brown to blonde at home as I couldn’t keep up with the £110 a time salon prices. I was pretty surprised when my roots when a bright yellowy ginger colour (my first time colouring at home so naively trusted the colour chart on the back of the box..DOH).I saw the reviews for the Fanola no yellow shampoo so bought it on prime! I first applied to it to dry hair for 1 hour (yess the yellow and ginger was bad), this made a small difference but toned it slightly. I used it for about 4 days in a row for 5-10 mins each time and noticed very little difference, my thinking was that maybe I’m using it too much?! Who knows, so I reduced the washes to 1-2 times per week, leaving the shampoo on for at least 5 minutes each time. It’s been approx 4 weeks now since I started using the shampoo and I must say I’m really chuffed with the colour now, there are still some yellowy tones but I’ll just continue to use it once a week. In between using the Fanola shampoo I have been using John Frieda Blonding Shampoo, I think this has helped with bringing out the blonde also.Picture one is when I first coloured my hair and picture two is after using the Fanola shampoo for 4 weeks.Overall I’d definitely recommend the shampoo but I’d suggest using it just once or twice per week and be patient with getting the desired colour that you want. It’s also worth mentioning that the shampoo will colour your nails purple as other reviewers have suggested but it just takes a couple of hand washes to remove it.

I have tried everything to keep my grey and blonde hair toned. I have hard water so that is difficult. It really got my natural grey and blonde highlights shiny, lifted and looking great. It is better than any toner or purple shampoo I have ever used. I conditioned after and my hair was shiny and silky.I’m really pleased with the results but here are a few tips.Do a porous test first. Snip off a piece of hair. Put it in water. If it floats it isn’t porous. If it sinks it is porous. It’s going to work best on light blonde or grey hair. If you have orange bits I think their blue shampoo would be best.If your hair is porous use it as a shampoo a few times and gradually tone it.Otherwise it will take on a purple hue. This is probably not that good for damaged hair.If your hair is not porous like mine, I used a clarifying shampoo, towel dried it, I put it on with a dye brush at the darkest parts first and then worked it with gloved hands to really work the product in. I left it on 3 minutes and then used it as a shampoo. It really toned the hair well.I’m very happy with this product as I’m normally allergic to toners but I didn’t have a reaction to this at all.The consistency is rather thin and it will splash if not careful.Use gloves! Take off any bits that get in your skin with a toner. This is my new holy grail for keeping my hair toned. I love it!Photos taken outside in natural light with no filters.

I recently received my Fanola No Yellow shampoo and have attached a before / after picture with the review. Honestly, I can’t see much of a difference (yet).. Fanola customer service have recommended to use the product every 3 washes so perhaps after using it a few times I will see more of a difference(?).The shampoo stains after seconds of being on your hands, but I did find after having a long shower that my hands were no longer stained, but if this were to bother you I would recommend purchasing disposable gloves. I would not recommended leaving this product on for any longer than a few minutes - I left it on my hair for a very short amount of time and had to roughly rinse my hair to ensureall the purple colour was out (especially on the more lighter blonde sections of hair).I can see a lot of people in the reviews are commenting on the smell, which I must say IS strong, but it isn’t an awful - although I did find the smell lingered on my hair even after blow drying & styling. For best results, I would recommend using this product with the L’Oreal Professional Silver Creme Conditioner, which is great.Overall, my hair was left feeling very soft and smelling nice, but I’m struggling to see what difference this product has made. For a 1000ml of shampoo, I think the price is great and I will continue to use this product as it leaves my hair feeling so soft and healthy.

Qualified hairdresser/Barbour and hair extension specialist.. I would highly recommend wearing gloves whilst washing hair. If your like me and have a white bathroom or shower curtain. Do your best to keep shampoo away lol Especially if you have gel/acrylic nails, it will stain a day or two. BUT... This product is absolutely AWESOME!!! I highly recommend! I had Balayage Nov 19 and this shampoo keeps my colour like I’ve just had it done. Can I state that my natural hair colour was used for the root effect and ends were lightened I’m naturally a 5. I use the first shampoo on dry hair leave for 5 mins (like a toner) then use my normal shampoo and conditioner once a week.My daughter (who’s 12)also uses this every other week. She was born with white blonde hair but over years has darkened to a shade 7/8. The front of her hair and ends always goes very light in the sun so for her this shampoo keeps her hair light and natural. Unlike most purple/silver shampoo. It does NOT dry your hair out! I personally am not keen on the smell of the shampoo- not a fan of honey and does remind me of when I first started my training of blue rinses. However, like I stated above I use my normal shampoo and conditioner and it help neutralise the smell. I have also used this on my bonded extensions again added in Nov 19 just recently removed. Shampoo did not dry extensions out.

For all those blondies out there, this is a fab shampoo. Its a huuuge bottle will last me 76 years at least. The colour is dark purple, a little runny but hey ho we cant have everything!I poured the purple potion of magic onto my hand and rubbed in like normal shampoo. I had my head over the bath so i didnt get the front bits properly as u can see by by my first attempt. It says leave in for 1 to 5 mins... I decided about 3 should be ok i sat up to let it work its magic but i got purple dripping everywhere... I looked like i was morphing into a exotic purple fruit... Nevertheless i stood my ground and waited patiently. After the 3 mins i rinsed off, used a conditioner and a hair mask as my hair was like a birds nest prior to the purple experiment.I rinsed as normal and styled as normal but omg i saw the back i was like... This is a miracle.... Iwas expecting a little lighter as my blonde hair resembled the colour carrot crush blended with sweetcorn... It turned out like snowflakes on my head... Amazing.I noticed the front is still resembling a hay like colour and the bottle did say you can repeat if needed but i left it so i can get excited over the next transformation.Be warned.. Use gloves if possible.. My fingers and hands resemble some type of zombie apocalyptic look, but the transformation outweighs the zombie hands.... Go for it!

I do like this shampoo because it works well but a bit too well. You can’t leave it longer than 2 mins because your whole head goes purple if you have white blonde hair like me. I bought this more to add a silvery purple look not to lift yellow but it doesn’t work great for that as I tried it on my roots when I dyed them and they went yellow. It takes loads on white sections of hair and hardly at all on yellow. I decided to leave it in over night one time to dye my hair purple and it worked rly well but never came out it just slightly faded and went patchy so I dyed it back blonde. But at least it means it lasts so you don’t have to keep redoing it.It doesn’t stain ur bath if washed off quick and it stains ur hands but easily comes off with a scrub. At the minute my hair is a purple silver with blonde roots bc it didn’t take on the yellow but went a little ashy and a big purple section where it must be lighter ? I would recommend for making yellow blondes more ashy because it does work if left in long enough but not if you want a nice silver look bc you can’t get the balance between blonde and purple and if you accidentally do leave it in too long it doesn’t wash out! Quick delivery and ok packaging although it was oversized for the bottle size and IT DOES NOT LEAK LIKE SOME REVIEWS HAVE SAID!! Thanks for my order x

I’ve read about this product and decided to try it as I wanted to do something about my hair colour, but didn’t feel it was wise to do dye them again. I have dark blond hair with a splash of ginger, so I really don’t know how I thought I can brighten them myself without achieving the colour of a fox that’s been dead for a month, but that’s precisely what I did. I thought I will have to wear a hat for 3 months before it’s safe to dye my hair again but this thing has saved my sanity.I was unsure about how strong this was so I initially started with short wash and every week extended the time until I could see results. Since my hair are not that bright or bleached it took 30-40 min to keep on my head before I could see any result, but damn, it worked like a charm! It makes you totally lose the warm colour, instead giving a very nice cold flavour to your hair. I love it!I know plenty of people said it doesn’t work, I think you just need to tailor it to your hair and be patient, because it does truly work.As per drying/tangling effect, that’s correct, but it’s can be easily fixed with a good conditioner, so it not an issue for me. It’s still less dramatic impact on my scalp that dying then again. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to change the shade of their hair without big impact on your hair health.

This may seem expensive compaired to the silver ones you can buy in supermarkets/chemist's, but its more than worth it. I'm naturally grey and decided to finally throw away the hair coulor, but the long ends have blonde/yellowing from past colouring, at least a good 6 to 8 inches, which I didn't want to have to cut off. Used it once and saw results, used it twice and saw a big difference. Its toned down the yellowing and slso blended in the light grey/white hair. Second time I used I applied it on towel damp hair, on the yellow parts first for a couple of minutes or so, then applied to the rest of my hair and left for about 5 minutes rather than washing my hair with the shampoo as I did the first time.It left no strange purple hues behind. It turned out a lovely steel colour. Next time, I'm buying the large bottle. You just need a good conditioner after (I have super dry hair that I also use Indian hair oil on) as it strips all old products out of your hair so can be used as a clarifying shampoo too. There's no need to use it every time you shampoo, I just use it when I notice the yellow creaping back or when the white shows again and it needs blending in. I might also try the matching conditioner or hair mask when I can afford it. I highly reccomend this even if you only have multi coloured grey/white hair

Read the reviews for any hair product and you will often discover that it is simultaneously Awesome and the Worst Thing Ever, conditioning, drying, colours well, doesn't work at all and everything in between. Conclusion: everyone's hair appears to be utterly different even if described similarly. So here goes nothing: mine grows out totally white/grey in parts, still almost completely native dark brown in others, has been dyed perma-blue for about a year and was recently decoloured twice and then bleached twice to get it back to somewhere in the region of whatever passes for its natural state these days. It has suffered a bit.Any dark-haired person who has reached for the bleach is probably familiar with the cornucopia of lurid orange and yellow shades I'm enjoying, which stubbornly refuse to lift any further. Unwilling to bleach yet again, I bought this shampoo to tone that lot down so my eyes need not suffer while I wait for my mop's condition to improve and ponder future colour options. And it definitely does that. Tick. The reason I felt moved to write the review, though, is the totally unexpected conditioned state I encountered on washing the shampoo off, BEFORE conditioning it. I could get a comb through it, no problem. Colour me gobsmacked. Also, substantially silver. Excellent bang for your buck.

Oh my goodness this shampoo is amazing! In the process of transitioning my dark dyed chestnut hair to my natural silver and have undergone several bleach sessions at the salon. My hairdresser seemed reluctant to tone my hair to grey but I wasn't comfortable the the creamy blonde she achieved. I'd seen Fanola all over instagram and was a little sceptical - I've tried a few purple shampoos and conditioners over the past few months and none of them had achieved the "silver" tone I was hoping for. I've had this shampoo a little over a month now and use it about once a week. I've tried leaving it on for varying amounts of time and have found that 4 to 5 minutes gets the right results. It's probably best to wear gloves for appliction although the product hasn't stained my skin or bathroom fittings. I think it could possibly be a little drying but so far I've always followed up with either a good conditioner or the Fanola No Yellow Extra Violet Pigment Mask and the condition of my hair seems fine. Overall I'm thrilled with the colour, sometimes it does have a slightly lilac hue (but this washes out easily in one or two washes) but the overall it looks silver, blending my roots with the grown out bleach/dye.

I bought this on friday and it was delivered by monday, nice and quick service with the added bonus of being able to track my delivery. When it arrived it was packaged well with no damage to the box or product!, I'd recently had my hair dyed blonde from the middle to ends in an ombre style but it wasnt quite the colour I was after, I was advised to use a purple shampoo to help remove any brassy tones and that's when I found this!, I cannot recommend it enough!, it is an amazing product and brilliant value for money as a little goes a long way!, as others have mentioned it does stain your hands and edges of the nails but I found if I rinse my hands straight away then use an exfoliating glove which works a treat,no stains. I noticed a difference after the 1st wash, it really did take a lot of the brassy yellow/orange tones out of my hair, I then washed it a second time the day after and omg, I love it!, it's gone a beautiful ash blonde which is what I was after, I cant believe it!, I now will only use it once in a while to keep the colour. If you have been debating getting it, dont doubt it and go for it you won't be disappointed. Just wish I took before and after photos to show you
