Well this mini tripod has turned out to be better than I expected. The tripod arrives very nicely packaged (Photo 3) so would make a nice gift. The legs and main body of the tripod are made from polycarbonate plastic, with the ball and mounting screw made from aluminium. In use, the plastic is very strong and with reasonable care, there is no reason why it should crack or break. As you can see (Photo 1) when closed the tripod forms a nice ergonomic pistol grip. The grip is made from knurled rubber. It's very comfortable, and with something like a light camera, or a phone in a suitable mount, it really does help with steadiness.I actually bought this as a way to support my DeWalt laser level at ground level. It works very well.(Photo 2).With the legs open, it gives you a tripod height of 145mm. The legs splay a good amount and I couldn't topple the tripod with the level attached, except with real force. The mount is a ball and socket joint. The ball is knurled, and is moved by pressing a button on the side. The button is made of plastic, and sticks out about 10mm from the main body.I imagine this will be the weakest part, and with lack of care could snap off.The ball moves freely, and locks into position very securely when the button is released. There is a standard camera sized 1/4 inch thread on the mount.I ordered the green version as it was on offer. I rather like it, a soothing teal colour.Overall, as a low level tripod, this is ticking lots of boxes. It is a great way to mount items such as my laser level or an audio recorder as well as a phone (in a suitable holder) or a smaller camera.Yes, it doesn't have the build quality of a Manfrotto, but it doesn't have the price either.Recommended.I hope you found this review helpful.

This plastic mini-tripod is some way short of a professional rig - the plastic, though well put together, isn't sturdy enough for continuous use, and the folding mechanism isn't particularly smooth, but for the price it makes an ideal piece of kit for travelling and casual use. I don't think there's a more versatile or easy to fit tripod under £20.

This is a nice mini tripod. It works well but the ball head is unnecessarily stiff. This is disappointing as it had the potential to be great value. It seems to copy the Manfrotto design - which is no bad thing as that was a red dot award winner. It loses one star due to being stiff even though it is well made and works well as a mini tripod.

This is a good little tripod for holding your dslr on a table. It can also be collapsed to hold in your hand. Both work well, although I'd probably prefer to use one with articulated legs for most things and a more stable handle if used portably. This however is good if you need to switch back and forth a lot.

This is my first tripod stand an dim oretty pleased with it. It’s easy to fold , carry about and to attach to my Nikon DSLR.I need a small stand for some recording work and this is ideal . It feels solid and holds my camera well and securely .Overall I am pleased with it and would recommend .

I love this, it's now a permanent member of my gagdget bag and I use it with my Action Camera, my DSLR and my mobile... its compact, doesn't get in the way and my daughter and I use it for making animations and how to videos where a proper tripod would be far to large to carry or even use.

And my camera started slipping forward........Basically, it’s for smaller lighter dslr cameras with the equivalent 85mm lens. My Nikon d7200 was way too heavy for nature macro shots pointing to the ground. Can’t see the point of the grip as it won’t act like a steadycam. Not for my gear

This is fine and sturdy, easy to use and with a good grip, however, it's also limited in use due to its size. It cannot be used as a selfie and it is not great on uneven ground. But if you use it as a simple stabilizer and as described in the product page, it's fine
